    Smoked Salmon Bagel

Would I recommend: yes What I ordered: Plain bagel Smoked salmon lox Pickled onions Capers Dill/cream cheese The amount of lox was a little light, but they were quality. Everything tasted fresh. The made other things by hand there. It's not a place that has frozen ingredients off of a truck. I would go here again.

Hot chocolate, salted maple latte and granola parfait

Randomly stopped in here for lunch while antiquing around town. The coffee was divine. I had a fall special of salted maple oat milk latte. Their granola parfait was delicious and just the right amount of sweetness and tartness. The bacon and egg breakfast sandwich was delicious also. Tiny inside with a few spots to sit and enjoy. Very friendly and fast service. New fav coffee spot in Astoria.

This is my first time to come here and I had the most mouthwatering delicious biscuit and honey and butter with my coffee. I will definitely be coming back.

This place was amazing! I was getting grumpy and needed some caffeine and a bagel and my wishes came true! I got a dirty chai and it was delicious! Also my bagel had a healthy amount of cream cheese. Much appreciated! The cafe is tucked away and blends into the building but well worth the stop! Service was fast and staff are friendly. Next time I'm in Astoria this will be my first stop.

This is a great place for coffee and Tea beverages on Commercial Street, right by the Sunday Market. This was our 2nd time stopping by at this place. The beverages we've tried thus far taste great. They also have some fresh sweet and savory baked goods, and also make some breakfast sandwiched with toast, bagels or English Muffins. This is a smaller place, with 3 small tables and some tall chairs on a counter which overlook Commercial street. Their service is great and the breakfast sandwiches we've tried are good, albeit on the smaller side.

Great little independent cafe, with well trained baristas and seemingly engaged mgmt. Lattes were pulled consistently well over several days; staff was cheery and customer service oriented. The non-adjustable fan was an annoying pain in my neck, literally; the door with poor seal at top and large missing sweep at bottom wasn't a great separator between the near freezing cold outdoors and kept the place from feeling cozy. A door closer would really help exiting with fully loaded hands.

Sausage egg sandwich with everything bagel - IG @bougiefoodieboi

We stopped by here in Astoria before checking out neighboring places and found this nice coffee shop that doubles up as a great place to get a quick bite. I personally tried the sausage egg breakfast sandwich substitute for everything bagel for $1.50 more. For $8 total, this was a pretty solid sandwich. The bagel is nicely toasted and super fresh and the sausage and egg, despite it being something I can easily make at home, is welcoming in terms of the speed of preparation as we are tight on time to explore the neighboring areas. For the price and quality, this place is very solid.

    Matcha latte & drip coffee

This is a great spot for a cup of coffee. We came into Astoria on a cruise ship and wandered in to the Rusty Cup on a whim. The inside of the shop is clean and has a nice aesthetic. There is a cozy, quiet vibe where it feels like you can really sit down, relax, and enjoy your drink. The barista was extremely friendly and patient despite our indecisiveness. We tried the iced matcha latte and a regular drip coffee. The pricing is great here, especially for a small coffee shop. Both drinks were prepared with care and tasted great. You can tell they take a lot of pride and care in their product here. Definitely recommended if you enjoy coffee, especially if you're stopping by for a short time from a cruise ship. If I ever find myself in Astoria again, I will be sure to visit again!

Love this place! Looks soooo much better now that it's decluttered and has a new menu :-)

Cheap, simple, good, and with healthy options. We had sandwiches (around $5.00 !!) and smoothies here and it really hit the spot.

It is always on our radar when we go to Astoria. Sitting on one of the old piers with a few other shops and a small museum this place is so warm, friendly with great coffee drinks and food that is perfect. They even allowed 3 of us a couple years ago to stay and use their Internet to work. Of course we kept buying coffee and food, that is a must for taking up their customer space. The service and friendliness of this place is top notch from any coffee shop I have been too. I really would love to keep this place a secret, but I want them to be here when I return so if you are in town please go visit them and hang iut for a bit with some coffee and food.

Outstanding! Simply put, this is probably the best restaurant in the Astoria/Long Beach area. We've…read morebeen twice inside of 6 weeks, and it's been amazing both times. Let's start with the service. It's definitely a family-run business, and everyone is invested! Everyone working there seems to be enjoying it. This comes through in the service provided. Everyone chips in, from filling water glasses to bussing tables, etc. The ambiance is excellent. They've decorated the space really well; the tables and couches are comfortable, and every table has some sort of river view. There is an outdoor dining area - which was closed in January and February - that we'll definitely be taking advantage of this summer. I'm usually skeptical of new business out here at the mouth of the Columbia. I read so many Facebook posts about 'This restaurant is amazing' or 'the best Chinese food I've ever had.' This sets us up for disappointment. We'd heard good things about Akres, and every good thing we heard was validated. We haven't had anything in two dinners there that we wouldn't order again, and we intentionally chose different entrees each time to experience as much of the menu as possible. On our first visit in early January, we enjoyed the Chicken Kabobs and the Carlton Farms Pork. Everything was great! My wife loved the Kabobs, and the Pork was stellar! I don't normally like greens, but the seasoning used on the roasted potatoes and winter greens was just so good! The pork itself was cooked perfectly, slow roasted, but with crispy edges. We shared a Horiatiki Salad with Kalamata olives and feta that was great! It was the only food item we ordered both times we visited. The second time we visited, the restaurant was significantly more busy, as it was Friday evening before Valentine's Day. But the service was still great, despite the place being filled to capacity, including a group of 30 which was seated just 10 minutes after us. My wife ordered the special - Moussaka. She couldn't have been more pleased. In general, she'll order moussaka when it's available, and it usually underwhelms. Not last night! It was fabulous. I took a bite of her moussaka, then went back for another, and another - you get the idea. We ended up ordering one to take home, it was that good! I ordered the Fisherman's Pie, which I can best describe as a seafood version of a Shepherd's pie, without the pastry crust. It was great. Shrimp and scallops, baked with a garlic cream sauce, potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a blend of cheeses. Really tasty. But, to be thoroughly transparent, I enjoyed the moussaka a little bit more. Both times we visited, we order dessert, which was great. I think my favorite was the Deconstructed Baklava. Now, on to the cocktails. Or more appropriately, cocktail (singular). On our first trip, I tried the Underworld Manhattan. Awesome! How there aren't any pictures of this cocktail on Yelp! yet is beyond me (I'm about to rectify that). Fig-infused bourbon, sweet vermouth and orange bitters. The second time we visited, my wife and I both had one! The drink was crafted in-house by Samantha. You should definitely try one at Akres. All in all, this is a fabulous restaurant on the Columbia riverfront, one of the best we've been to in a long time on the peninsula or Astoria area!
