Rustica Bakery is very good. I came on a Tuesday afternoon and it was packed, which caught me off guard at first, but made sense after trying the food. I ordered the salmon lox bagel sandwich, which came on a Turkish bagel that was soft and chewy in a really nice way. The sandwich was served deconstructed, and while it was good, it felt a bit unbalanced. There was not enough salmon, and the capers made it a little too salty for how much was on there. For the price, I think they could be a bit more generous with the salmon. The bread itself was excellent though. I also got a slice of chocolate cake, which was really good and something I would order again. I plan to come back to try their coffee and more of the desserts. The service was solid, and while the space is a bit cramped, it is still a really nice place to sit and spend some time.

Bacon, Egg, and Cheese breakfast sandwich.

Stopped here around 8:30 on a Saturday morning and we definitely beat the rush. By 9:00 a.m., the line was already to the door and pastries were flying off the shelves. I ordered their basic iced chai, which was delicious, and for food I tried the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. It comes with avocado and roasted garlic chili mayo and it is hands down one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. The staff was incredibly friendly, and both the food and drinks came out fast even as it got busy. Getting there early is absolutely worth it. There are plenty of tables to seat down and enjoy your coffee, which is a bonus. Parking can be a bit tight since it's located in an Uptown strip mall and fills up quickly, but people are leaving so I have always been able to find a spot. I would 100% come back. If you can swing a weekday visit, that's probably your best bet!

I am shocked that I did not go here sooner, everything I had was amazing. I am going to highly recommend the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese breakfast sandwich. It comes with avocado and roasted garlic chili mayo and makes other breakfast sandwiches look bad. I also enjoyed the seasonal caramel apple latte. However, be warned that when ordering a sandwich and a coffee that you might just finish your sandwich before your coffee is out on a busy morning. Just get it to go! Also, please get the Kouign Amann, it is a buttery caramelized croissant that you will not be able to put down!

Rustica Bakery was a perfect coffee stop this morning before heading to Uptown. The service was super quick and friendly - helping us pick out an amazingly delicious blackberry lavender scone. The place was busy, but full of good energy! Great vibes. Of course the latte was smooth and yummy too!

Nice cafe shop with lots of seating indoors and some outdoors. It is a little tight fit with how many tables are in the front. Drinks were good and pastery even better. Drinks came out quick and they had a separate person do the pastery so I got that right away.

Good vibes, quick service & friendly staff! Anytime I am at this coffee shop there is a consistent flow of people which shows me it's a staple coffee shop! The bakery always looks fireee! I got the matcha tea & it was perfect. Earthy tasting, but not too sweet. Also came with a cute design which we love esthetically speaking!!

Amazing cafe and bakery! Went here with a friend and the ambiance was great. I had a cappuccino that was very good!

Stopped in for a Saturday morning breakfast to try more of the menu. The staff is all super nice and our order came out quickly for how busy they were. We were lucky enough to get a table. They have a decent amount of seating and now that's it's nice outside there is seating out there as well. The breakfast sandwich was so good and the chai is always good. The construction has cleared up for the most part so it's easier to get to. There is a nice big parking lot as well. Recommend checking this place out!

This is one of my favorite bakeries in the Minneapolis metro. I always grab a pack of their bittersweet chocolate cookies when I'm in town. The location is in a strip mall across the street from a lake that is very nice to walk around in the summer. Parking is a bit challenging during the lunch hours. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and the grilled cheese for lunch. Both were very good. The bread is excellent as always. The breakfast sandwich had plenty of cheese, good quality bacon and avocado. The staff forgot to put in the egg but as soon as I mentioned it, I got my fried egg. My friend loved the grilled cheese. The strawberry tart was tangy and rich with the consistency of a key lime pie. The ambience is of a coffee shop. I saw many people working there while sipping on a cup of coffee. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was clean. There are also seats outside if you prefer the outside. I ate the cookies on my flight home and just as good as I remembered!

Baklava tart

How I've lived near here for nigh on 4 years and never visited, I have no clue. This is an absolute gem. The pastry displays are stunning, the ambiance is cozy, the coffee is strong. I had the baklava tart and was deliciously surprised by the flavors in it, what a beautiful play on a dessert I grew up loving in a Lebanese family. They've got music playing but it's quiet, which is a dream (such a frustrating thing when I'm at a coffee shop to study but the music is so loud I can't focus). The staff were all lovely and kind and helpful. I will gladly be bringing family here when they visit from out of town. My ONLY complaint: the exterior door slams and is rather loud.

Turkey club and a ham and swish
Stacy A.

I wanted to like the food because I have heard so much praise but it was just ok. I got the ham and Swiss on baguette; the sandwich was weathered because it has been in the display case all day and the baguette was so crunchy it was hard to eat. Maybe this is more of a breakfast spot than a lunch spot? I also wish the menu was a little more expansive, maybe some more salads and some other non-bread/dough heavy options.

Went to Rustica for the first time and loved it. We got the best seat in the cafe, right next to the window and away from the crowd. The place is spacious anyways so it's not difficult to get a seat even when it's busy. We ordered the Kouign Amann, a seasonal focaccia, and some fall seasonal drinks like their salted maple latte and salted hazelnut mocha. Everything was so good. The focaccia was soft and flavorful and the drinks were the perfect sweetness level for me. It was a perfect spot to catch up with my girlies!

Outdoor seating around the complex

Found this little spot after my morning walk around the lakes. It was quite busy at 10am. I tried the blueberry lilac latte which had a sprinkle of sugar and what looked like dehydrated berry bits and floral elements on top. Overall though I didn't really taste anything special or different and it was just a really well made latte. Maybe a hint of blue berry but almost too subtle. Still good. But I don't think I'll buy again as it was $6+tax for a 10oz, which is pretty spendy. They do use a lamarzocco machine, which is one of the highest top quality machines for espresso. They also had a ton of nice treats which looked delicious. It was definitely a popular spot as the line backed up behind me and overheard their timing of drinks tick up for 15 minute - the fact that they even know that number tells me they have the operation down to a t. It looks like this is a chain, but this was my first time here. Overall everyone was friendly and timely. It was clean. My only wish was being able to see calorie count on the menu, which was missing.

Pretty good. 4 stars for pastries. Nice large seating area. Lattes are much better at honey and rye though.

The miso cortado was delicious and really stood out, and they have a great variety of specialty drinks. The service was also extremely kind and welcoming, which I genuinely appreciated. That said, the space didn't quite live up to the hype. The location felt a little unfinished. Minimal decor, unfinished flooring, and no truly cozy seating made it feel less like a place you'd want to settle into for a while. While they encourage people to linger and don't offer Wi-Fi (which I respect), the ambiance doesn't quite support that intention. It felt more like a quick in-and-out stop, even though that doesn't seem to be their goal. The atmosphere was chill, with vinyl records playing in the background, which was a nice touch. I just wish the overall design and seating matched that relaxed, stay-awhile vibe. Great coffee and kind staff, but the space itself didn't fully align with the experience I was hoping for.

They have a lot of super intriguing drinks that I can't wait to get back and try, but I had to have the black coffee for my first stop. They only do pour overs and mine was great. And so were the beans I took home. It's really nice to see a coffee shop that cares about their beans more than syrupy drinks. The shop itself is small but has some nice seating options. One thing to note is that they don't have WiFi so this place isn't really meant for the work from home crowd. I can't wait to get back here

I came in the middle of the day, so there were only a few tables occupied, so it was very calm--balm for these times. The house that the coffee shop is in is beautifully preserved--anyone who has been in a home of this area and era will immediately recognize its characteristics. It feels an awful lot like walking into that house where you spent so much time when you were growing up. From the tile in the bathroom, to the ceiling, to the layout, to the dark wood, it's like walking smack into your childhood safe place. The coffee is absolutely delicious (and the espresso machine pretty as can be). Smooth as silk and without a hint of bitterness, it's just as comforting as the environment and just as pleasant as the wonderful person who served it. Absolutely recommend this place. I definitely need to come back to try the chai. It smelled incredible.

So when I passed the sign here that said "Warm Scones, Great Chai", I knew I had to try it! It's located kitty-corner from Isles Bun & Coffee, so you can always pick up more pastries from there after if you're not feeling like having a scone. We were the first customers of the day, and the gentleman that opened the door for us was very friendly. I think the interior was very cute, it was very cozy and has a homey vibe, but with seating that looked like it was from a Marie Calendars or Bakers Square. It was super quiet in there, no background music. I was kind of afraid to talk and felt like I should whisper like I was in a library. I got the Uncommon Chai and a chai scone. While the scone was ok, the chai was underwhelming. It just tasted like hot milk with a sprinkle of chai flavors somewhere in there. I could barely taste any cardamom, cinnamon or clove as is common in chai. I would say this is probably a MN interpretation of chai, definitely not authentic. Kind of like my family's former Chinese restaurant in southern MN. Not authentic, but rather a Midwest version of Chinese food. The cafe is in an old house, so this place is not wheelchair accessible from what I could see.

I know firsthand that coffee is king in Panama, so I figured anything inspired by their incredible coffee culture had to be worth trying. I visited Curioso on an early Sunday morning and immediately found it special. Not just for its coffee, but for the ambiance, service, and overall vibe. Curioso is a large, welcoming space that's part coffee bar, part brewery. I was immediately impressed by the variety of entertainment for all ages: arcade games, pool tables, dart boards, a skee-ball machine, board games, and even claw machines. Seating options are abundant, from cozy couches to tables and high-tops. There's a toddler play area and a library filled with books for all ages. The space feels family-friendly and is warm, welcoming community gathering space for all. I noticed flyers for free community events Curioso hosts, like Sunday Morning Yoga and Tuesday Trivia nights. The service was equally warm! The barista, although managing a busy Sunday morning solo, took her time to explain coffee options, highlight weekly specials with her own recommendations, and describe the pastries in partnership with Fruit & Grain and Bagels from St. Paul Bagelry. Oat milk is the standard for all their drinks! (Which I loved) We tried two speciality lattes: the "Butter Luck Next Year" (iced) and the "Blue Ribbon Peach Pie" (hot). Both were exceptional! Strong, robust, and delicious. Alongside, we also enjoyed an "Everything" handpie and a "Blueberry Lemon Curd" pop tart. Both pastries were out of this world delicious! I loooooved this pairing. I'm a sucker for savory, so the "Everything" handpie reigned supreme for me. Although I don't have a fur-baby (yet), I would like to include that Curioso is fur-friendly.
