Rustic Root is a very cute restaurant. It has a farm to table vibe with really fresh, homemade dishes. The quality of the food is great, however, the prices are quite high. A few years ago, Rustic Root went through a major organizational change (new ownership, new chef, etc.). Unfortunately, this led to some great dishes being removed from the menu, totally new staff, and happy hour no longer being offered (they started offering it again, however, the deal used to be $7-8 per drink and now it's $12 which isn't really a deal...). Overall, I still would recommend Rustic Root for it's cute interior, good service, and homemade dishes. A few standouts are: spinach and artichoke dip, their wings, burger, cornbread, soups, and any flatbreads they offer. read more

Absolutely Delicious! We stopped for brunch on our way to The American Armored Museum. The food was Fresh, flavorful and delicious. The service was amazing, our server Amanda gave us some interesting information about the chefs history on "chopped". We ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, house potatoes, smoked bacon, avocado toast, cornbread, and scrambled eggs. We had some cold brew Everything was perfect. The portions were hearty and the ingredients were fresh. Everything they serve is organic and we were completely satisfied with the quality of the meal. The ambience was nice I really liked the use of rolling pins as wall dividers in the bar area. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stop by for meal. I visited for brunch yesterday and both the service and food were very mediocre. My friend and I ordered the cornbread skillet, biscuits and gravy, and the chicken sandwich. The cornbread was not hot and was a little bit of a let down. Our server raved about the biscuits and gravy and it was really bad. Barely any gravy and maybe a tablespoon worth of ground sausage. We also received a chicken burger instead of the chicken sandwich. Brownie points for the server to offer to swap it out but we didn't want to wait anymore so we just kept the chicken burger. The overall experience was pretty mediocre and the mood of the place was very loud. The overall menu is pretty limited and overpriced. If there's anything you want to try, definitely look at their menu before heading over to see if it's worth the trip and money. read more

last dined 7-06 All the recent reviews are accurate this place has gone waaaaay down hill since the old days of being an authentic farm to table restaurant. Now it's a fraud to table eatery trying to re-create the magic of previous ownership. The service is no longer the top notch service of pre COVID which always askied about allergies, made special accommodations and anticipated guests needs. In place of that is a lackluster "it's just a job" crew. The drinks went from thoughtful and creative creations to thrown together regurgitations of ingredients that sound good together. The food is a terrible rendition of what once was. The cornbread which was delicious and a staple is a cheap imitation. Well not exactly, because nothing here is cheap. Don't believe me just look at the prices of their weekly specials. $22 for a quesadilla, $38 for a salad. Seriously everything that was right with this place is dead and gone. Socks knocked off! The Seared Tuna special "shareable" was plenty and beautifully plated for a takeout order. The perfectly seared tuna rested on top of wasabi mayo foam, accented with citrus slices and cucumber rolls. This was an awesome plate, one they should definitely look to make a mainstay on the menu. The organic chicken burger was similarly wow! A perfectly seasoned chicken patty augmented with a parsley mayo was moist and flavorful. Garnished with fresh tomato and lettuce. This is a definite order. I wasn't sure if ordering the strip steak made sense before I ordered but wow it was delicious! I'm not sure what sauce was on top but it was awesome. Even though I managed to steal only a bite or two, this steak was tender and flavorful. Korean BBQ wings and a chicken liver appetizer rounded out the plates for the evening. The chicken liver appetizer in particular was mentionable for the sweet and onion flavor packed goodness! Rustic Root is a surprise goto restaurant tucked in the corner of a strip mall. I'm a big French toast person, and when I tell you this was DIFFERENT! I absolutely enjoyed the French toast it has a delicious vanilla-citrus flavor! I came here for lunch to celebrate my sister's birthday! I was so excited to try Rustic Root because my cousin makes RR's brussel sprouts and they come out so good each time! Drinks: Old fashioned + a beer The beer was recommended by our server based off the basic beers I like, and the old fashioned was basically handcrafted- they use charred wood to really bring out the smokiness of the whiskey, and both my sister and I were impressed. For apps: 1. Brussel sprouts - charred and seasoned, on top of yogurt with a honey drizzle... so delicious! 2. Salt and vinegar fries- they were good but not amazing, I preferred the brussel sprouts over the fries 3. Bacon - I am not a fan of pork belly, and I misread their bacon description because my sister knew it was pork belly. If you don't like fatty meat then don't order this, but it was well marinated! For entrees we shared: 1. Bacon Flatbread - SO GOOD! I was nervous about the fried egg on the pizza, because I'm just a weird picky eater but it was SO GOOD. The cheese + the salty bacon + egg yolk made for a great combination, and I'd definitely come back for that! 2. Chicken burger + fried egg - so regular burgers came with fries but the chicken burger comes with salad, so I was kind of confused with that. My friend really recommends the chicken burger with an egg, and it was good but it wasn't my favorite. Did a little Sunday brunch over at Rustic Root this past weekend and it did not disappoint! Covid friendly, super clean but you have about an hour and change to eat bc of the capacity restrictions. The food portions were really big and delicious! The platting was mesmerizing, it was almost too good to touch. You'll def love it here if you're looking for a healthy and fresh take on food. I anticipated dining at Rustic Root after attending an UYE where different area restaurants showcased samples of their menu. RR had medium rare cooked juicy duck, perfectly cooked and delicious. One year later my family and I made it. The slab of bacon had some slices where the fat was less cooked than others. The cornbread was quite good. The chicken wing appy was charred and dry because the sugar glaze made the outer part burn easily. The brocolli rabe was great with chunks of garlic, but too salty. The linguini with clams I was told was good. The duck was medium rare, but not juicy and moist but chewy, and the stuffing that came with it was too salty. Stumbled upon this spot when looking for a brunch place in Nassau. They don't take reservations, but they had plenty of tables on a Saturday at 1PM! We both got the Farmers Breakfast, which consisted of two eggs (I got mine scrambled instead of sunny side up), sausage, bacon and potatoes, topped with hollandaise. We also got a side of mushrooms. It's a farm to table restaurant, so everything tasted really fresh! A staple brunch spot that's definitely worth trying. The space is beautiful and makes for a great gathering place with friends. One of my favorite date night spots! I've been to this restaurant many times for their delicious, high quality, fresh dishes! My bf and I came here on a Friday night and decided to do outdoor dining. We were seated quickly around 7pm and were given disposable menus. We ordered the burrata flatbread and salt/vinegar fries to start off. The flatbread was delicious and crispy. The salt and vinegar fries were thick cut and came with their house ketchup :) We both love their steaks so we each ordered their flat iron steak cooked perfectly medium rare as requested. The salsa verde sauce blended well with the tender steak. It was delicious! There was also live music and socially distanced tables. I felt safe and the ambience was perfect for a date night. I think the nicest aspect of this experience was the atmosphere and appetizers, which anchored the price somewhere near more reasonable for dining prices today. We were the only people of color in the otherwise packed place (cooks aside), which I understand better now why. We liked their holiday mocktail, their Brussels and their cornbread. I found their short rib more atmospheric than flavored: it had more the appearance of a dish with robust flavor than it delivered in taste. I cook short rib regularly following instructions from various cookbooks, and I find - even as an amateur home cook - I'm always impressed by how delicious it comes out with a few spices and aromatics . It feels the meat simply has a sharp memory for any spices you put in that make it so delightful. For the version I had at Rustic, I'm really just impressed that for the price there was nothing distinct or tasty at all about the dish which was well cooked, but wholly bland. It paled in comparison to the one you can buy even at Trader Joe's which - despite its processing and sodium that is the total opposite of farm to table - at least understood how to translate flavors into short rib. Since my mom was also disappointed with her branzino entree, I'd say I like this place for drinks and appetizers if you're okay with the bill, but for me, I'll just pick up some Rosemary, red wine, and make the short rib myself for the same price which makes enough to feed my family. read more

Hot damn this place got some good food. I got the mushroom flatbread and French toast with vanilla custard. I don't get two entrees normally but it was worth it. The mushroom flatbread was perfectly cooked, and not too cheesy. The egg was the glue that stuck my tastebuds. It was great. Then the French toast with the syrup and custard was light and perfectly sweet. Not too eggy. I tried a bite of my sisters cornbread and burger and they also tasted pretty good. Came here for a Sunday brunch heard good things about it. Yes we weren't all dressed up like others walk in around 12 and immediately greeted with tension by a young manager who treated this place like it was a night club. I went in the website to show her when we go on to make a reservation for 4 it goes to open table and it shows 12:15 available instead she decided to be a little tyrant and insisted she knew better and they were packed, when you can clearly see tables open and a ton of disorganization. She was a diva and just made sure you understood this wasn't a kid friendly spot. Food was decent nothing stood out the wings were okay see this cornbread in a skillet, but I don't know what happened we just got a big cornbread which crumbled when you picked it up. Everytime I come here I have amazing servers who are very attentive and accommodating. The cocktails are expertly crafted and delicious.
