Our waitress was incredibly nice and attentive -- she was quick with our first two rounds of refills and had a great attitude the entire night. Unfortunately, the timing of the food really hurt the experience. Our appetizers didn't come out until about 45 minutes after ordering, and our entrees arrived an hour and a half after we were seated. By the time our dinners came out, we were the last table left in the restaurant. To make things more frustrating, the meals were brought out in two separate rounds about 10 minutes apart. When the second round finally came, we ended up asking for boxes and the check right away. The food itself was absolutely delicious, and our waitress did everything she could to take care of us. That's why we're giving 3 stars. But waiting an hour and a half for dinner -- especially when the restaurant wasn't very busy -- is just not acceptable. When you first walk in, it isn't 100% clear which way to go (although any of the ways ultimately lead you into the main church room). I had never been, so I asked the person behind the bar about the history of the winery and the space. It turns out he is the owner so he had a lot of information to give. I learned about the founding of the winery, the old space up the road, the renovations to the church space and their wine production (like where they get their grapes). I ended up sampling four different wines before I settled on the glass that I chose. There are a variety of seating options, including some with a more lounge feel (couches on what used to be the altar). I visited on a Thursday night and it was fairly quiet. They were offering a chicken parmesan meal that sounded (and looked) delicious, but I had already eaten. During Lent, they have seafood specials on Friday nights. In addition to wine, they also had beer, cider and mixed drinks as options. This would be a great place for a date night or a girls night out. I'll definitely be back!

I first discovered this little charming cidery and winery from my partner who had tried the cider elsewhere. Returning from Erie, he found that we'd be passing Knocking Noggin so we swung by. We've made the trip three times now. We've only been disappointed once when my partner and I bought 4 growlers for a gathering we were having and none of them tasted good. Something happened where they were either mixed or went bad in a matter of two days. I reached out to management, and they quickly responded with apologies offering to provide us with complimentary refills. We brought our growlers back just as promised and they were refilled at no charge. Some of my favorite ciders have been the seasonal ones including Butter Beer, Pineapple, and Chocolate Strawberry. Pineapple is my top one hopefully coming back in the summertime. If you have the chance, visit this place during a town festival or even when nothing is happening to just have a wine slushy or glass of wine out on the patio. There is a sign for the winery at the end of the road and you enter up a long driveway (with several signs warning about not bringing in outside food and drink). I had no idea that their grounds were as massive as they were! There was even a sign for a walking trail. I visited on a Monday in the winter, so I wasn't able to take advantage of their beautiful grounds, but after a great visit, I definitely want to come back in warmer weather and come for one of their events (or even just to enjoy some wine outdoors). They have a nice variety of wines. Many sweet, dry and fruit wines. They also have cocktails and other drinks. I like that more of the specialty establishments are starting to have extended offerings because it makes visiting more accessible to people who might not like wine or beer but still want to enjoy the company of someone who does or a specific event. I went in set on getting a wine slushie (they rotate their flavors, but every one I've tried has been delicious). They allow you to sample basically anything from their menu and you can order wine by the glass, bottle or as tasting flights. When I was there, they were still offering their Valentine's pairing which included four generous pours of red wines each paired with a gourmet chocolate. I really enjoyed the experience and everything was tasty. The service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I asked questions about the wines, where the grapes are grown, how they come up with new blends and about events and they answered all of them.
