Our history at Rus Teak started when they first opened their College Park location. We enjoyed stopping by either for a glass of wine or a nice meal in a friendly intimate setting. The recent visit, however was nothing positive, just a hearbreaking disappointing experience. We intended to celebrate our Aunt's 75th birthday by treating her to a nice dinner in a upscale restaurant. I found out that Rus Teak moved location very close to her home, which made it easy for us to select it for such a special occasion. We were hoping to eat at 5 PM on a Saturday, so I called at 11 AM to make a reservation. The person answering the phone informed me that reservations are not accepted on the same day and assured they will have available seating at 5 PM. Upon our arrival with flowers, gifts, baloons (and our 5-yo child with us), the host could not navigate the computer, so after 15 minutes of us standing there, he had to ask a waitress to assist him. The place was mostly empty inside. The waitress told us she could only accommodate us for outdoor seating. We agreed. They made us wait another 10 minutes and the 3rd staff member showed up. The 3 employees continued clicking on the computer and wispering for another 5-7 min, the time being 5:30 at that point. Again, there was only 1 table occupied inside and 1 outside. As we followed the waitress to outdoor seating, she pointed out to a table at the very end by the screen, the setting afternoon sun blasting at the table. We asked is we could take any of the other 4 tables, the response was no. The explanation that followed left us speechless: we have larger company at 7 and will be pushing tables together. I felt hurt and embarrassed in front of out sweet dear aunt. Either of the 3 staff members were unapologetic and suggested that we leave since we did not want to take the table in the direct sunlight. Bottom line: they cater only to local "upscale" patrons now. The staff who are directly interacting with guests are unprofessional, inexperienced and majorly lack basic human courtecy and respect. We will not be returning, crossing you out of our hearts, Rus Teak! read more

Really flavorful dishes! I had the chicken special, which had a fiery red cream sauce, and it definitely had some heat! We enjoyed happy hour cocktails that were inventive and yummy. Servers were courteous and knowledgeable. My only downside was I think the prices are more like $$$ than $$. read more

My opinion may be a little biased because a few days prior to visiting RusTeak Ocoee, I went to RusTeak Thornton Park to which I must say food wise, these restaurants don't really compare. First off, the menu at RusTeak Ocoee is slightly different than the TP location, which in a way isn't so bad. The bad part was the taste of the dishes. I don't feel like the food was as good as the TP location. The Crabcake sliders were unnecessarily spicy (due to sweet Thai chilli sauce) and had tasteless crispy rice noodles on it. The lobster roll tacos were just ok. I found that they tasted better the next day. The mussels were good but the tomato flavor was severely lacking (I had this item at the TP location and the tomato flavor was prominent and added a lovely taste to the mussels). The Cuckoo coconut drink had an unusual sour taste. It did not taste that was at the TP location. The Mint margarita drink tasted like mint tea. I wouldn't order it again. The restaurant is not all bad though. The food was very fresh, and there was not a long wait. The "Off the Hook" dish was really good, as well as the sweet potato fries. This location is very beautiful inside and the staff was exceptional. I would visit this location again, but I definitely prefer the Thornton park location. read more

Great ambiance, our waiter Daniel, and trainee Tyler were very courteous, knowledgeable, and constantly checked up on us. The happy hour deals are amazing, 25% off drinks and apps, as well as 50% of bottles of wine on Wednesdays (under $50). Our favorite apps included the mussels (enough for a whole meal), black and blue bites as well as the cauliflower (a MUST!). They even brought a complimentary birthday brownie for dessert. Not many vegan options but we found some items and they were delicious. The menu is a little confusing about vegan and vegetarian items and server wasn't so sure either but we got some good options. It would be helpful to educate servers on how they can help to veganize other items, they had another tofu option on the menu that we asked to be modified to be vegan (I mean, it's tofu guys!!!) but the chef said it wasn't possible. This is a relocation of the original RusTeak Don't worry if you were a former patron. They only improved on the menu. I had the Cobb and it was delicious. They have multiple options and a great sandwich selection. There are also specials on the menu. The wait staff is on their game. The decor is attractive. There is a bar area if you want to slip in by yourself. If you would like to come for dinner there is an expanded menu Ocoee is beginning to get on the map due to culinary locations like this!! read more

We've eaten here quite a bit over the last few years. Their food is consistently good. Their Rusteak burger is delicious with the egg and bacon and perfectly cooked beef. While it may seem simple, their fries are great as well. Many restaurants fail to make descent fries these days. Their cauliflower casserole is also very flavorful and satisfying. And, you can never go wrong with the Salmon Keto Keto dish. They also do a great happy hour and offer friendly service. read more

Great first experience. Went for lunch and enjoyed ourselves. I had a pretty dang good chicken sandwich called "Return of the Gouda" and my wife had a salad, the "Southern Gent". My sandwich was little messy, halfway through, but overall the chicken was grilled perfectly so every bite tasted great. Drinks were good too... I had a spicy Tequila cocktail, that was slightly spicy (could use more heat) but delicious. Will return next time we're around the area. read more

Let's start with service- you could have the best food and without good service--Blah! Fortunately, they have a young server named Aurora. Good hire guys! She is fantastic. Second --the food was amazingly good. The smoked Pastrami sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. It's my understanding that the owners are Culinary Institute of America grads--a school my son is currently attending--and they have have other locations in the Orlando area. Well not a big fan of the menu being so limited, but perhaps that will change as they grow into the new space. Overall food is good, drinks are on point. We have picked up takeout orders from here twice. I don't know inside or service. The steak sandwich I feel lacked steak for the price of the sandwich. My wife decided to get the fish sandwich and she thought the fish was small for the price of the sandwich. They did give us a huge amount French fries. The owners and staff seem to be very passionate about about providing great food and service. We hope next time to have a better experience with the food. read more

We went on a busy Friday night without a reservation but was able to get a seat in the bar area, which was perfect because we only planned on a drink and some apps. Good thing that was the plan because I'm vegetarian and there is absolutely no entrees, including the salads, that didn't include an animal. Highly disappointing. We are so happy y'all are back! The new location is nice! I'm happy for more outdoor seating. To that point you'll need a shade or sail or drape on the back end. We were there around 6 & the sun was just setting. It made at least 4 bar seats (and probably a table or two) impossible unless you wanted to burst into flames! I know, we tried. It'll help in rain too. We went back in and waited in the super comfortable lobby. I wish I had gotten her name but a very nice server came over and took our drinks order. Such a great touch while waiting! We ended up scoring 2 seats at the bar and the service was top notch as always, even with shaking out the new stuff! We missed our usual comfort foods and kind of stuck with those but I'm looking forward to the specials coming back. The new place is loud but that's something that cannot possibly be addressed until a place is open. You could tell everyone was just so happy RusTeak is back! We're planning on hitting a HH again soon and love the tapas type appetizer options so if you wanted to have more of those or offer smaller plates of some of your hits (like half a steak salad ) that would be awesome! Finally checked out the new location off of Tomyn rd. The place is beautiful! It feels more open and the bar and decor are gorgeous. I sat at the bar, it took over 5 minutes to even be greeted even with three bartenders passing by me. I placed my order..water with lemon (had to ask 3x for lemons) Malbec wine, & steak salad which I substituted Gorgonzola cheese for Gouda and blue cheese dressing for ranch. My wife and I went here for dinner tonight for our anniversary. Want to first start off with how nice it was in there. The atmosphere, vibes music all of it. The music actually brought my wife and I back to our middle school/high school days. It was so fun. Kenny was our server and he was amazing. Very kind and sociable. We sat for a brief moment before Kenny came over (miscommunication between hostess and servers - at nobodies fault it happens) my wife and I were not upset by any means. The manager and server (Kenny) were very attentive and come to our surprise comped part of our bill without our discretion. Completely unnecessary however things like this some establishments just don't do anymore. We were more than happy to pay the whole bill and still give an amazing review. I've already reviewed Rusteak a few times now but seriously just can't recommend going here enough! I sat outside at the bar and then at a table the past two times I've went and loved sitting in the cute patio area especially when the weather was nice! It's so beautiful inside and outside! Food you need to try-- mussels, kung pao cauliflower, southern gent salad, lobster grilled cheese! But really you can't go wrong with anything on their menu! I've said it before but I'll say it again, the servers, bartenders and managers are all so kind, friendly, accommodating and welcoming! I would go once a week if I could! Came here with my parents. They are regulars at this restaurant. My dad ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and came out raw and inedible. He sent it back. We ordered the brownie dessert and it was also inedible. The manager was so rude and condescending about taking things off the bill even though my dad didn't even have a meal. Food is always terrific (portions could be smaller which is why we always split, service is attentive. The ambience is noisy as hell and the only reason I can't give a better review. I returned from Paris where restaurants are always packed and tables are smaller and closer together. First time at the new location. Loved the colors/design and seating. Went around 2pm just for a bite after fighting traffic and too many humans at Costco and Trader Joe's. Ordered a house cab (Uppercut) and Kung Pao cauliflower for app. It was exactly how I remembered from the former location. Spicy, crunchy, sweet with plenty of peppery arugula and peanuts. Husband's Southern Gent salad was surprisingly perfect. Chopped so that every ingredient was in every bite. Chicken wasn't dry - which is something that we're becoming WAY used to. My brother's ( who is a trained cordon Bleu chef but not snobby) mussels we're tender, and the white wine/tomato/garlic broth was on point. The pretzel app was a bit overadvertised, as we were all expecting a cute little fondue pot with an amazing cheese blend, but it was nothing more than an Applebee's version of soft pretzels. I also ordered a glass of house cab and then realized it was half off bottles on Wednesday. I told our server that I wished he would've mentioned that, and he graciously brought me a bottle.
