The sweetest place on earth is the Russell Stover Candies store here in Tennessee. For many, many years my dear wife has claimed her birthright to explore this store. Local folks will know that a recent Buck-ee's has greatly impeded the travel in this area. The north bound road from Sevierville may back up for miles due to a recent stoplight granting access to Buck-ee's. This is a very dangerous area; be alert. Now, poor Russell Stover's looks nearly abandoned because visitors do not want to chance a chocolate detour. What was Tennessee Thinking? Surely a metropolitan sky bridge would be applicable; or perhaps new garage which might tele-port customers would be an improvement. Great chocolate for those who would risk great dangers. read more

I visit this place a couple times a year, it's usually a good visit and I'm happy with the products they offer. I shopped on March 3, 2026. I usually buy from the overstock and expired section and I know what I'm getting for the lower price. However, this time they were featuring Dubai chocolates. 7 pcs. for $10.00 in the front of the store. I really wanted to try them and they were offering a buy 3 bags (7 pcs per bag) and get a free bag. I grabbed 4 bags at a cost of $32.97 NOT CHEAP! I got them home and wanted to eat one so I checked the expiration date to see if there might be one I should open first. To my shock, the bags all featured an expiration date of .... MARCH 1, 2026. So they were expired when I bought them and I paid full price for them! This is unacceptable. I likely will not be shopping here again if this is how they treat paying customers for high qualify chocolate. read more

We have always stopped by this store on our way home from Gatlinburg. We have visited this store probably around 8 times in the past and never had an issue until today. There were two ladies working this evening and the older lady, Carol, was very rude and unprofessional, especially to my child. For someone that works at chocolate place and is in customer service should know better to act. Carol's behavior and tone to toward me and my child was like we are less than her and my child was a bother. I will pass this store in the future if I see her working and tell my friends to not shop there if she is working. There was no reason for this kind of behavior from her. read more

Holy moly, you would never guess how big the store is from the outside. There are actually 2 main rooms. The front one is boxed candy, truffles, individual candies and ice cream. The back is all previous seasonal candy discounted.Not all of the discounted season is a good price. Such as some of the chocolate covered marshamallow in different shapes were I believe $1.49 each. But at the store like Walgreens it's usually 2 for that price. I got a chocolate mint sundae and a couple pieces of loose candy. It cost me $13.33. The sundae was very tasty!!! read more

Previously had purchased a 3 pound mystery box and had some delicious candy. Purchased another box last week. Mostly a melted gooey mess with very few edible pieces. Looks like the box had been violently shaken and left out in the sun to melt. Called the store and was told we could bring it back but they would likely not replace it or offer a refund. They didn't seem to care. Won't be back with an attitude like that. A shame since we only live about a mile away. read more

We stopped in here on our way to pigeon forge. This place is amazing. They have boxed chocolates as well as a candy counter. The back room is my favorite.. this is where you get discounted candy like Christmas leftover for 50 percent off. They have bloopers from their factory line super cheap.. still excellent candy but they were rejected for not being pretty or getting stuck together. The staff were wonderful as always. Holy cow, best / worst decision to stop here!! Chocolate for days. We stopped in here after a day at Dollywood. It was a great experience and there was definitely plenty of sweet treats for everybody to check out. When you first walk in you'll notice that they have cold cooler chocolates, ice cream, and in the back they have the sale and discount chocolates. The ice cream looked delicious, however, we definitely wanted to get some of the chocolates. We started up front and cruised our way around deciding what we were going to get. We ultimately ended up grabbing a few boxes both for his mom and for my family so that we could give them something on the way back. In the back of the store, where the discount chocolates were, they had the "bloopers", which are just candies that look a little less than perfect but taste just as good as normal. If you know me, you know I'm a big fanatic of anything that is marshmallow covered in chocolate. For some reason marshmallows and chocolate just go really well together in my head. They had an entire box of the bloopers that were on sale with dark chocolate covered marshmallows I was very excited and grabbed this immediately. Check out with a little on the slow side as the vast majority of the customers were grabbing ice cream and it took a little bit of time and distracted the employees from being able to get chocolate out of the Cold Case. I'm probably not the best person to write a review, I'm not a big chocolate fan. But still, we popped in to see if we could find something new or a cool gift. We didn't see anything new and different, but if there's a particular Russell Stover item you're looking for, they will have it. The selection is huge. They have a back room with large discounts on holiday items. I'm not sure how long chocolate keeps, but there were a ton of Christmas and Easter candies for dirt cheap. We have found over the years (& states) Russell Stover usually stands for quality. Imagine how sad we were to find that was not the case here, at least as far as customer service is concerned. Let me insert a quick warning here... if you are a tourist to our Great Smoky Mountains and especially if this is your first trip to the Smokies... PLEASE DO NOT STOP HERE! Please pick somewhere else to spend your hard earned dollars, somewhere that appreciates your business. We came in today and brought two Russell Stover newbies with us. I must confess we had not been to our RS here before but we have frequented others chiefly, Wildwood FL (our 2nd home and the best, friendliest RS around). We built up RS and told our companions they were in for a treat. Now they did get a star because the banana splits were tasty but sadly the customer service was abysmal. So bad in fact that we actually complained and our companions said they would never be back. Monika, the young lady who helped us was obnoxious to say the least. When asked if we could have the whipped cream on the side we were told 'No.' with no explanation, no 'I'm sorry' nothing! When questioned further she told us she couldn't do it because it was the "special Sundae of the month and mgmt won't let us." Which translated to a whopping 50cents off." We said we would pay the extra 50 cents to have it on the side as we were splitting one and I don't like whipped cream. Still no accommodation, no apology, no nicety, nothing. We asked her to please put the whipped cream along one side of the banana split instead of across the center. No response. Did she? Nope. Great big circular blob dead center covering everything. All of that was frustrating to be sure but didn't ruin the rating. What broke the camel's back was the fact when the elderly gentleman who was with us asked for an ice water, he was told in yet more hateful-sounding snappy, manner that there was no ice and when he asked if he could just get a cup of water then, her reply and I kid you not, and she spat it out again, was 'There's a water fountain in the back corner!' Like he was some animal. I was livid. Not just because of her dreadful, disgraceful way of talking to an elderly gentleman but because it dawned on me, she probably thought we were tourists and she'd never see us again! Half right - she will never see us again! The manager Aimee did come over and apologize and made every excuse in the book, short staffed, a power cut earlier in the afternoon had caused chaos, conference calls etc but none of that equated to the appalling way customers were treated. Another young couple was also complaining at the table next to us how rude and unfriendly the staff seemed to be. When you pay as much or more for an ice cream as you do for a full meal and drink at restaurants just down the road (see Buddy's BBQ for instance) there really is no excuse. The manager also did say they usually did have ice water but the ice machine had broken but by simple deduction that meant they still had cups of water. Even after all of her apologizing and offering if we needed anything to 'just let her know', she never offered to get the elderly couple a cup of water! There wasn't a drink on the table, so she couldn't think they were okay. Seriously. We didn't ask for any discount or even hint that we wanted anything other than for Monika to get some training in customer service but common sense would normally have suggested a cup of water would have gone a long way to ease the situation. Monika - you failed. Aimee - you failed. Russell Stover in Kodak? You failed. You need to train your employees much better. Maybe the owners should travel to other RS stores to see how is should be done. Please please please look after your customers, most are tourists and we appreciate their business even if you don't! read more

Yesss! We hadn't been to a Russell Stover outlet since the one near us closed, so we were excited to see this one and hoped the deals would be just as good as we remembered. The front half of the store is pricey. Some stuff is on sale, but the majority is near regular retail. They had chocolates I'd never even seen before, plus ones I hadn't seen in a long time. They also had a case where you can buy chocolates by the pound or the piece, as well as an ice cream counter. The back is where you can really score some deals. This is stuff that's out of season (think Easter candy in July), overstocks, or damaged packaging/product. There's tons of it and it all tastes fine. The discounts are great, some as much as 80% off. Make sure to get a frequent shoppers card while you're there. You'll get a free box of chocolates just for signing up and then a free box at every $100 spent. read more

Wow... I was not ready for the awesomeness that is a Russell Stover Store. This location is enormous! They've got all of their typical candies, with a huge variety of sampler boxes, ranging from just a few pieces to several pounds. They also have "by the piece" candy so you can mix and match it. In addition to the above, they also have a back room that is all of their clearance and markdown candies. This could be everything from holiday candy that is past season, or candy that is mildly deformed or misshapen, so they can't sell it normally. I assure you, it is just as delicious... They also have a full-service case that sells truffles individually like some of the other fancy chocolate shops, and an ice cream counter where you can order custom shakes and other ice cream dishes. Overall, this is an awesome place. They've got great prices on candy, especially the ones that are out of season or deformed. I highly recommend you making the trip here to check it out. What a great place. They have candy and ice cream in a big glass counter and rows and rows of boxed candy. It's kind of like an outlet for chocolate because they have a room in the back where they sell second hand products like leftover holiday treats. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy candy. I came in with credit card in hand, and it was perfectly fine that no one greeted me. However, the fact that 4 employees were standing around talking, one employee working with another customer (she was great with them), I still stood in front of the register for 15 minutes just wanting a bag of coconut clusters. I ended up leaving empty handed because the other employees were too busy talking, and I couldn't get their attention. I never stopped at the old location but I can tell this one is nicer just by the outside. They had a lot of boxed candies but I was mostly interested in the fresh things in the cases. It too a while for someone to come over and ask what we wanted. My mom said she saw gnats in the case which isn't good. The candies have tasted good so far. I doubt we'll stop again. read more

If you are a chocolate addict then you need to see this place. There are in a new location and it's very nice & updated. When you walk in they have a large counter of gourmet chocolate items. The store has a lot of seasonal items and a great selection Sugar-free chocolates & candy. The back room is filled with bargain chocolates called "bloopers" & past seasonal markdowns. Great ice cream! Great candy! Great people! I'm a local that goes here more than I care to admit. Been coming here for years and will be coming here for years to come. I usually don't post things but my wife saw a review here about my favorite place and now I know the importance of giving a compliment. Not only does it feel good on both sides but it let's others see a more overall picture. So this next part is directed at Powder W 's post. Let me say that this story is not by any means typical. They have always been friendly and helpful. Maybe this post was done by someone having a bad day, we all have them. But to slam a business like this when I know better makes me question other bad reviews I've seen for other places. There had to be more to this. Stopped by to pick up some Easter candy at half price and noticed that many of the prices were DOUBLE what they should be, then with the half off, they were still at full retail.. Don't know if they are trying to make up for lost business for while they were closed, but long tome customers will surely catch on to this price discrepancy. In addition, the Christmas and Valentines candies that were in the back room need to be marked down more than just 50%. its mid July for goodness sake. No deals here, left without buying a thing.
