    Caramel apple
    Terri M.

The map on here is wrong. It's next to the distillery behind Harley Davidson. The girl who helped me didn't seem to like her job she was kind of grumpy and was kind of rushing people saying what do you want, what do you want when they're just looking around trying to figure out what they want. No smile whatsoever. I got a cotton candy truffle, mint truffle, raspberry truffle and a caramel apple. The mint and raspberry truffles both had dark chocolate and were very tasty. The cotton candy one wasn't very good. White coating outside and inside tasted like powdered sugar butter and cotton candy flavoring. The carmel apple was tasty!

So good, wish I had gotten more.

BEST ICE CREAM I have had in a long time. I can't even remember the name exactly, Jacked up Toffee I think....doesn't matter because it's...ALL GONE, why didn't I get a double scoop?!?!

They have great ice cream and a good selection. They have lots of varieties of fudge and candy and candied apples too.

For a small up charge, they will dip the cone in chocolate, which was sinful.

Great staff. Great hospitality. Great products. Naturally, we walked into the Candy Apple & Chocolate Factory expecting more of the same. Unfortunately, that's not what we found. To be fair, the place itself is nice enough. It's clean, attractive, and exactly what you'd expect a candy shop in a tourist destination to look like. Shelves filled with sweets, chocolates, treats, and enough sugar to keep a small elementary school awake for a month. But once you get past the appearance, things become pretty ordinary. The candies were fine. Not bad. Not great. Just... there. Nothing stood out. Nothing made me think, "I need to bring some of this home," or "I can't wait to come back." In a town filled with specialty food shops and memorable treats, being forgettable is its own kind of problem. The bigger disappointment was the service. Nobody was rude, but the staff gave off the unmistakable vibe of people mentally clocked out an hour before their shift ended. You know the feeling. You're talking to someone, but they're already halfway home watching television. After the warm, enthusiastic service we'd received next door, the contrast was impossible to ignore. The entire experience felt like it was running on autopilot. The candy was average. The service was average. The overall experience was average. And that's really the best word for this place: average. If you're walking by and want a quick sweet treat, you'll survive. But if you're worried about missing some hidden gem of the Smokies, don't be. Save a few bucks. Skip the stop. The Fear of Missing Out can rest easy on this one. You didn't miss out. Three stars.

They even create beautiful gift baskets for any possible special occasion. This is the type of spot I could spend hours in with a smile on my face, although they do have a user-friendly website that allows you to shop and order online with the option of both shipping or store pickup, too. While I could have purchased the entire store and died happy, I opted for chocolate this time around. After watching chocolate being made next door (glass windows inside the store that look into the "chocolate factory" area), I knew I needed to try the dark chocolate STAT! The workers behind the counter were so darn sweet (pun intended) and helpful. They offered samples galore and recommendations when asked. I ended up ordering dark chocolate caramels, nonpareil dots, peanut butter melts, and turtles. Everything was incredible, but my husband and I have been dreaming about the dark chocolate caramels (the round, gooey version...we didn't try the chewy caramels yet). I grew up obsessed with Sno-Caps candy, and their Dark Chocolate Dots are heavenly. The chocolate is just such good quality, better than any other chocolate shop I've tried thus far. Can't wait to go back for both sweet and gifts for loved ones.

I heard it was good but I didn't try it because I was so happy with my own cone. I would definitely check out this spot if you're in the mountains near Sylva. Their homemade treats are yummy.

They also ship their products, including special packaging for warm weather for an extra fee, so if you're not nearby you can still get a taste! The fellow at the counter was very friendly and chatty. Definitely a spot to stop in Sylva.

I can get them on the Jelly Belly website for less than half that! The one thing good I have to say is that their pralines are the kind I like most (really buttery tasting and dry/crumbly rather than sticky/chewy). But it was nearly $30 for 6 pralines and one small candy package for my kids. Communication was also difficult as the people there struggled with English and they didn't seem very friendly. We didn't buy any Jelly Bellies and left disappointed. I'm so sad because this used to be our favorite candy place in Pigeon Forge. Also, the prepackaged Jelly Bellies were $6.99 and we found them at the candy shop inside Dollywood for $3.99. Never imagined a shop inside a theme park would be so much cheaper than a standalone shop. It's like they don't want to sell anything.
