Halfway through a long distance trip in our motorhome, our transmission's control module failed…read more We were stranded for a few days before barely making it into their shop. Gary quickly determined the problem but unfortunately due to the changing relationship between GM, Allison, and Workhorse, finding the part we needed was difficult - especially because we were in the middle of a holiday week. Paula was relentless in trying to locate the part, making phone calls to anyone and everyone she thought could help - she even called the VP of Allison! To say the team at Mello Transmission went above and beyond to help us get back on the road is a massive understatement. They provided the absolute best customer experience and their kindness will never be forgotten. We were so thankful to have found them and are so incredibly appreciative of the way they made a really bad situation more tolerable because they were working so hard to help us.

Jim the owner and mechanic is quite a character…read more Tell it like it is, straight to the point and dry humor. If you are looking for a Chick Fil A, "my pleasure" experience then he may not be your guy. If you want an honest and great mechanic then this is your spot. A friend referred me here, this friend had taken his truck to a few places to check the engine light and they all would charge $75 to $125 to just hook up the computer to it. One place hooked up the computer for free then told him he would have to leave it and without opening hood estimated about $1,500 to repair the error. My friend took it to Jim's on a referral, Jim opened the hood looked around found the engine oil cap was off, put it back on, cleared the fault which was the only issue and sent my friend on his way without a charge.. I took my project truck, a 1975 F250 which was running rough so I figured it needed new plugs and timing. I also needed a brake job, which another place wanted to charge me $950 but that was just looking at the truck from a distance without even checking it out. About 2 hours after I dropped it off, Jim called me to come pick it up. He said the brake drums were fine and then gave me an expert education in my truck and the parts it needed. It was a proportioning valve and a master cylinder but due to age I had to go search the parts myself, "he would not waste time looking for hard to find parts", instead told me once I find the parts bring back and he would take care of it. As far as the driving rough and tune up, Jim said my truck did not need anything but that the "genius" that worked on the truck last replaced the carburetor with not an original part but a newer carb that had an electronic choke but did not hook it up correctly so my truck was basically driving with the choke in carburetor engaged, not good. So Jim wired it and my truck was now running incredible! Jim refused to charge me for it, "he fixed that for him, so he did not have to suck up all the fumes from the truck running bad due to the genius that tried to fix it last". I Came back after spending $80 dollars on the parts which I found in the east coast and after replacing the parts and the brake lines Jim charged me $100.....For everything.... I know!!!!! Jim Told me what I needed to fix next and referred me to the muffler place next door to fix the muffler which is what "he" would do. Jim is awesome!! I love this guy! I got a new muffler which I had already gotten a quote somewhere else and those places wanted $800 to $1200, because my truck was so old. Place next door said because Jim sent me they charged me $450 for a new pipe and muffler! I am taking "Tom", that's my trucks name back to Jim to work in the power steering next week and will continue to take my truck and refer him to anyone that has car issues.

Right, like I am just some kind of money tree that I can afford to just keep paying them when they don't know what's wrong or how much it is going to cost. Unless you want to throw your money away. I would take my vehicle to a more knowledgeable and more experienced shop next time. I will definitely never use this shop again.

We started calling around with no one willing or capable in our first five calls. My brother in-law got a hold of Darren who said he would check on it on Sunday if we could get it to shop. We got a call back on Sunday for a heads up on the job...that's his day off. After they pushed back or reschedule other jobs for us (traveling) they started Monday morning and we had our car back on Tuesday morning. Nice. Kayla who answered the phones and worked the office was joy to deal with. We had all our questions answered and peace of mind getting back on the road. Last words...this transmission shop is a no-brainer for no-nonsense. Thanks again.

My 1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue needed new U-Joints and balancing. Brought it in thinking it would be refurbished, got a whole new one for $330.75!!!!! I was thrilled but still skeptical, slapped it on, and the car drives SO much better! Not that it didn't before, but now the car glides through the higher speeds and shifts, great customer service, gentleman at the front desk was polite, the lady that took measurements and communicated to me through the phone communicated to me the entire time and the hurdles and findings of my drive shaft and options. I wanted to do a 1 and done and went with their recommendations, I'm glad I did! Driveshaft took roughly 2 weeks to be done due to low staff. Car is a weekend car and a project I took on so I didn't mind the wait at all. I'll recommend these guys to anyone and any balancing and possible future machining will be my first stop!

He was polite and inquisitive which instantly put me at ease. Thru the entire Q&A that we peppered him with, he had answers and knew his business. Not to mention, just an all around good guy!! After the purchase was finalized, he took the time to explain EVERY inclusive button and setting. Financial: Ricky was just as kind and polite with all of our questions and explained ALL ASPECTS of how the financing worked and all of the options that were available to us. I especially appreciated, being new to EV technology and ownership, the time he took with warranty information. Being in a tough spot, with a car to trade that had been driven TO DEATH, trying to make a major purchase on 3 hours of sleep and being COMPLETELY out of my depth, the people at American Chevrolet made my experience of buying a new car exceptional!!

I had a very frustrating and unprofessional experience with American Chevrolet while trying to…read morepurchase a vehicle using my own credit union financing. From the beginning, I clearly stated that I was already approved through my credit union and only needed the dealership to submit the buyer's order through CUDL. Instead of cooperating with that process, I was repeatedly pushed to fill out their internal credit application and use their financing options. Even after explaining multiple times that I did not want to run my credit again, I was told it was "required" or "the only way" to proceed, which was later contradicted by my lender's instructions. I also requested real photos of the specific truck I was interested in on three separate occasions because the listing only showed generic stock images online. I never received clear or direct photos of the actual vehicle, which made it difficult to confidently evaluate what was being sold. Overall, communication felt inconsistent and disorganized, and it seemed like the goal was to shift me away from my approved financing and into their financing at a higher payment and rate rather than follow my lender's process. Because of the lack of transparency and clear information, I ultimately chose to walk away from the deal. I would strongly recommend future buyers confirm financing processes in writing and request actual vehicle photos before spending time at this dealership.
