My wife and I were on a cross country travel trailer trip, and I wanted to stay in the city of my birth for a couple days. Doing a little research, I found that eating at Runza is a must do while in Nebraska. So I had to do it. I ordered a mushroom and Swiss Runza. I read that it has cabbage in it. I like cabbage, but couldn't really taste it, which was fine. I'm from Texas, and another Texas reviewer commented that he wished we had Runza in Texas. We have plenty of excellent sandwich shops in Texas, but I bet Runza would do well there. I enjoyed my sandwich. It was quite good. Having never had one before, if I were to compare it to any other kind of sandwich, it reminded me most of a cheesesteak. I will definitely return next time I go through Nebraska. read more

Wow Runza was my first stop in Lincoln Nebraska. I heard about it all the way in Texas. I chose the mushroom Swiss Runza with frings. I was so hit and savory. I tried both the onion dip and ranch. Both dips were great. read more

This location was fantastic. Although we had a little glitch at the self ordering kiosk the team was wonderful. The double cheeseburger was delicious and the fries super fresh and hot. I ordered 6 meals and upgraded drinks to the large size. This was the worst 50 plus dollars I've spent on meals during this visit to Nebraska. The fries were all cold, dried out, hard and inedible overcooked sticks. One Runza was okay and freshish. The others were old with bread dried out hard breading. I. Will. Never. Go. Back. To. This. Runza. In fact it was so terrible, I may not go to any Runza again. I'm so disappointed, because whenever I travel to Nebraska, Runza was one of the 1st places I stopped by for some local flavor, but I'm going to scratch it off of my intown rotation list. This place was recommended by a local resident. So I tried it. It looked interesting. Each sandwich starts with a base of meat, cabbage, onions and who knows what else. Then they add toppings to that for the different types of sandwiches. I got the cheeseburger and Swiss mushroom melt. I asked for them to hold the onions, but I was warned that they were in the base. I thought that it wouldn't be a big deal. I bit into them and all I could taste was onions. I didn't like them and hardly ate any of it. So, why 3 stars? Went yesterday at busy time, Frings looked and tasted like they were dipped in fryer and then taken right out!! They were gross, pale and soggy!! Considering the prices these days I want my frings cooked until done , I don't care how long I have to wait in line to get them. Looked like a new bunch of kids serving and obviously they don't care if it's cooked right or not, just get the orders out!! By the way my frings went in the trash they were that bad. Service was above and beyond we are from Washington and a local recommended this place. She said it was a Nebraska thing girl at the front counter was very nice. Very helpful. We don't have this restaurant in Utah so it was great. The store looks newer. Staff was fantastic. Food was hot and we loved it.

Nebraskan cuisine served fast! Eating a Runza is always a must when visiting home. Runzas can't be found anywhere else. Also known as Nebraska buns they're basically fresh dough that is rolled out and filled with a delicious spiced hamburger and cabbage mixture that is baked fresh every single day. This particular day, I stopped in to have lunch with an old friend from high school. I ordered the original Runza but they have all different types. My order was hot and ready before I finished paying which was a first for me but I was there during the lunch rush. Typically it takes a couple minutes for them to call your number. My food was delicious and just like I remember growing up with. Pro tip: When I leave town I typically order a bunch and freeze them to later reheat at home in the oven. Works great! :D read more

Very disappointing today in drive thru. Did not include ranch with chicken order, chicken was cold and tough like old. Chili was not even full and no sauce whatso ever, like they scrapped out what was left in pan. Not at all worth almost $4.00 for tiny amount of chili. Girl did not say thank you or give us receipt. Would have gone back but was already down the road. Sad how they cant get order right or appreciate business. read more

I just received my regular freeze pack. Growing up in Nebraska is a curse... If you leave you can't have a Runza very easily. Now near retirement, I'm in Scottsdale, AZ and have the dry ice packs sent to me every couple of months. $120 for a dozen real runza's is a BARGAIN when you can't have them locally at any price. I've tried many times to make my own version, and actually come fairly close, but not close enough to stop ordering the dry ice packs. Thank you Jenny at Runza! Unfortunately the heat down here is such that even a dry ice pack doesn't survive the 3 day shipping for June-Oct, so I'm treating this dozen like my most valuable possession. I've never had a bad experience with runza, ever. Every time things go quick and easy. Not this round. I was at runza in scottsbluff at 4:18 10/24/2020 when we arrived we were the only car in line. the gal running the drive through asked us to repeat our order once, then sat there in silence for about 2 minutes and said it was stressful over the speaker. She replied ' ok ' we replied ' yes?' She said ' is there anything else I can get you?' We proceeded to say ' no thank you' then she gave us our total and we pulled forward. We sat in front of the window for another 2 minutes while she was taking orders from the other 6 cars behind us. We received our food and I didn't get the onions I asked for, instead I got COLD grilled onions. Very disappointed. Very unprofessional read more

Eating a Runza is a must when you are in Nebraska. Love them! They also have good fries and onion rings (or you can get the best of both worlds with an order of "frings"). The onion dip is also very good. The restaurant is a bit older, but is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly. The parking lot has plenty of spaces. The drive thru is a little tight to negotiate. If you've never tried a Runza, you definitely should make a point to add this meaty delight baked inside a warm bun to your plans. read more

Stopped in for lunch one weekday afternoon. Drive-through line was very large, so I went in, even though I was getting it to go. The server was very polite, and the food came out incredibly fast. I ordered a regular Runza, and a quarter pound cheeseburger. The runs it was warm delicious and soft. The burger was absolutely fantastic. Love this place! read more
