The day before we visited this Runza, we had what was probably the best Runza sandwich we've had in 10 years from the location at the 180th and West Center Road. So let me assure you up front, that did not bias me, for we came to this Runza solely for the cinnamon rolls. In the past we've come to buy a dozen cinnamon rolls from Runza, frozen in a pan. We would heat them up at home, and enjoy them while speaking of our favorite memories of the years past, and the soft dough and the sweet frosting was a perfect morning treat. It was a great pair to a session of holiday reminiscing. The rolls themselves became part of the memories and tradition. Today, the rolls are again part of the memories, but for all the wrong reasons. Upon asking for a dozen, they let us know they don't sell them like that anymore. Disappointing but ok, we'll just order our twelve rolls, individually!and be on our way. Perhaps they are just trying to get a few bucks more from people, but maybe they would still come together in a pan? In fact, the employee even asked if we wanted them heated and we said, no thank you. So perhaps they'd come on the tray or in the bag they were delivered to the location in (we have no misconceptions... no one thinks Runza is baking these fresh in each store). After an amazing amount of time in the drive thru line... (I can attest to this amount of time by telling you a story. My two boys refused to admit they were hungry when we were ordering because they simply didn't want to make any stops before arriving at grandma's house. But upon reaching the window and after my paying, and after the smell of food entered the car, they both requested French fries. I waved and waved at the highly tinted restaurant window and could not get anyone's attention, so... after a good amount of time waiting, my wife and I bet she could get out of the car, go into the restaurant, order fries and rings, and be back and find us still in line. So, after waiting an amount of time longer than it took me to type this story - on an iPad - she went in... and returned with us still in line waiting). ... so after a ludicrous time waiting (the line behind us went from zero cars to at least five deep) I was handed two green plastic bags that honestly felt empty other than the large number of styrofoam containers inside. With laughter (and fries), we left, headed down the road and my wife checked the bags. We technically got cinnamon rolls, because they were made of dough and there was some cinnamon and a bit of frosting scattered on the top, but these were just not the items we remembered. They appeared old, light and each simply a spiral roll trying its best to be a sweet and tasty treat. Rather than continuing to berate the rolls, I can only underline the let down that our stop provided. One of these pastries would have been cringeworthy had it arrived right when we ordered it, and there is no number that would be worth the wait we endured, nor the THIRTY DOLLARS we paid. Yes, a dozen baked items that only slightly resembled cinnamon rolls, that took a surprisingly long time to prepare, were THIRTY DOLLARS. Again, the whole experience might have been more frustrating had it not been so close to unbelievable, and so it was just funny. If the holidays are about making memories, and I for one am happy Runza has become a part of ours. Admitted Runza snob, this is one of my go-to Runzas (and def one of the top places to go in Gretna for real, fresh made food options.). They always get our orders right & xtra ranch is never forgotten. The new building is gorgeous~happy to see the upgrade. read more

Just finished up track and ready for a nice juicy Runza meal after my hard day at school. I go to order my food, along with my three siblings orders. The order was quite lengthy so I asked the women taking my order if she could repeat it back to me. She got very annoyed and started repeating the order back to me with an attitude. As if it was an inconvenience that I was even there. I pulled up to the window and the guy working seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else but there and also was not very friendly with me. I paid and got handed my food, but was missing one of my four sodas. I sat until they opened the window again and asked for the soda that I was missing. The guy at the window looked at me for a second, squinted his eyes, and slowly said "okayyy...." (in a confused mannose About a minute later he finally handed me my final drink with the most annoyed look on his face. I thanked him for giving me my drink, and he shut the window without a reply. read more

First off - Runza is in a new location in Gretna, NE. The building looks great. I have not been inside but I used the drive through tonight. Service seemed good. The worker repeated my order back to me. Told me they did not have the soda I order with my meal and helped me select another. And I got my food quickly and was on my way back to work for a meeting. Once the bag was handed to me, I took a quick look in and saw my fries, sauces and some chicken strips. Everything looked fine and I drove away. Then the disappointment hit. I returned to work to quickly eat my meal before my meeting started. My four piece chicken strip combo meal was short two chicken strips. I paid $8 for a combo that was really a kids meal. I was not pleased. So I pulled out my trusty 6 plus and took a photo of my two strips next to the two (yes two) receipts that stated it should be a four piece meal. I was not able to leave my work until 8:30 pm and was unable to return to the scene of the crime with my photos and receipts (veiled Alice's Restaurant reference). I am curious what they will do. I can't say that I will recommend this location. I also feel like I should be checking my bank account to make sure no extra charges were accrued in the transaction. If you do feel like giving them a shot, check your bag carefully before you pull away. read more

If you're in a hurry don't bother coming here. Half the time they run out of runzas before 730pm. Also the wait is terrible! Most nights it takes 30-40 minutes to get through the drive thru. As I'm typing this I'm at minute 25 with six cars to go. They've only served 3 cars since I got into queue. She was handing the drinks out in the cheapest carrier on Planet Earth and of course, they spilled into the window, car, and my lap. That girl barely said anything (no apology) and the second employee tried to do the same with new drinks and the same flimsy carrier. When I asked she just hand them individually to me, she acted as though I'd requested a full refund. I finally got everything I ordered and asked for more napkins for the entire left side of the driver's seat, and the employee that spilled the drinks argued that the napkins she'd already provided were satisfactory. All employees were in the wrong and probably underpaid. This place sucks. read more

every single time i go here my order is wrong i have probably spent ofer $100 on food here that has been wrong all i ask for is no ketchup on my burger but time and time again that proves to be too different i wouldn't write a review if it was just once or twice but this has happened so much that i will probably never go to one of my favorite fast food places again the employees here don't listen nor do they care and ur lucky if u even get one thing u ordered how are u getting almost the entire order long so consistently that i'm starting to think they are running a cult at this location that's main goal is to waste my money and have me go hungry because that is the most rational explanation for the ungodly amount of times my food as been wrong back to back time after time. read more

The Gretna Runza is the worst Runza out there and I will never go back ! Today I ordered chicken strips in the drive thru around 4 pm . When I received my order I looked inside to make sure my order was correct. I found that my chicken strips were still swimming in oil . I asked if I could have some new ones and showed the lady how oily they were by soaking up the excess oil with the napkins they gave me . She proceeds to tell me that they pre cool them then dip them in the fryer as ordered . I guess that explains why their burgers 80% of the time seem like they are warmed up . My suggestion , drive by this Runza it's not worth your time . I won't ever go back after that customer service failure !! read more

This franchise has been around ever since I could remember. My aunts and uncles would come to Omaha for a visit and we would have to stop at Runza least once. Since then Runza has grown into eastern nebraska and even into Loveland, CO. I know I will always have a good meal from Runza, they consistently have great food. The meat is fresh and hand formed into a delicious mouth watering hamburger patty. The French fries are slightly crispy and seasoned with the perfect amount of salt. Did I mention they are crinkle fries! I always order the small wishing I ordered the large, their French Fries are worth the extra 20 minutes on the treadmill. I haven't had the "Runza" sandwich in quite sometime but like everything there I'm sure it has held up its quality and taste. A "Runza" is a closed, warm sandwich filled with ground beef, cabbage, onion (cheese can be added as anadditional option) and seasoning. Okay, now I'm going to have to order one! read more

I ordered ranch at the drive thru and was charged for it. Upon checking my bag I noticed I did not receive the ranch I ordered. I was not upset but I was craving it so we went back through the drive thru as the lobby was closed. I nicely asked if we could have some ranch as it was forgotten. The lady at the window swore she gave it to me and demanded to see my bag of food. I told her I didn't want her barehanded digging through my bag. She slammed the window shut and walked off. She came back with gloves and demanded twice more to see my bag. I handed it over and she dug through it and realized she definitely did not give me my ranch, so she threw it in my bag and shoved it at my boyfriend who was driving, not apologizing at all and slammed the window again. Not only did I find this extremely rude, but also nasty. It's literally a cup of ranch dressing. Demanding to dig through my food and acting like I'm lying was extremely unnecessary and probably a health code violation. read more

The Gretna Runza has gotten better since they move into the new building until now. Last night we got 2 Cheese Runzas, Fries and a small Hamburger at the drive-through and all the food was only Luke Warm! The Runza wasn't even warm enough to melt the Freckin Cheese! They need to get some lessons from the Runza in Waverly! It's almost like going to a different restaurant chain, its SO MUCH BETTER THEN GRETNA'S! and not a Hit & Miss like these guys. read more

The store here in Gretna has a very friendly and courteous staff. I just don't care for Runza in general. Every time I have had a Runza stuffed sandwich, kind of like a pierogi, I got an upset stomach. It's just too greasy. I think you have to be born and raised here to appreciate it. From what someone told me, Runza used to be the only fast food around for miles, so it was considered a treat to go there, and is now just a comfort food for the locals. In Gretna, I prefer to go next door to Jimmy Johns. read more

This location is probably one of the best out of all I've been to. They provided quick, swift, and kind service. The cashiers are very kind, helpful, and patient. The drive through workers repeat my order back to me and make sure to get my order out to me as soon as possible. The cooks in the back work together to get the orders out as quick as possible, while making sure the order is it's best quality and 100% correct. The building is always kept clean and I always see the staff keeping busy. It's a very nice building overall and I especially love the aesthetic of it. I really liked how the cashiers brought me my food when it was ready so I wouldn't have to get up to get it. Such a great location and I 10/10 recommend going to this Runza if you're ever in town. read more
