    Gretchen B.

First off - Runza is in a new location in Gretna, NE. The building looks great. I have not been inside but I used the drive through tonight. Service seemed good. The worker repeated my order back to me. Told me they did not have the soda I order with my meal and helped me select another. And I got my food quickly and was on my way back to work for a meeting. Once the bag was handed to me, I took a quick look in and saw my fries, sauces and some chicken strips. Everything looked fine and I drove away. Then the disappointment hit. I returned to work to quickly eat my meal before my meeting started. My four piece chicken strip combo meal was short two chicken strips. I paid $8 for a combo that was really a kids meal. I was not pleased. So I pulled out my trusty 6 plus and took a photo of my two strips next to the two (yes two) receipts that stated it should be a four piece meal. I was not able to leave my work until 8:30 pm and was unable to return to the scene of the crime with my photos and receipts (veiled Alice's Restaurant reference). I am curious what they will do. I can't say that I will recommend this location. I also feel like I should be checking my bank account to make sure no extra charges were accrued in the transaction. If you do feel like giving them a shot, check your bag carefully before you pull away.

Buffalo Chicken Wrap with a side of HAIR YUMMMM!!!

Haven't really been in the mood for hairy sauce, or chicken... or anything. Bon Appetite, not me though

The lap of a sad man (Gretna Runza)

She was handing the drinks out in the cheapest carrier on Planet Earth and of course, they spilled into the window, car, and my lap. That girl barely said anything (no apology) and the second employee tried to do the same with new drinks and the same flimsy carrier. When I asked she just hand them individually to me, she acted as though I'd requested a full refund. I finally got everything I ordered and asked for more napkins for the entire left side of the driver's seat, and the employee that spilled the drinks argued that the napkins she'd already provided were satisfactory. All employees were in the wrong and probably underpaid. This place sucks.

Worth the drive off the interstate

Charlie is the absolute best! The mushroom burger is great and so is the ice cream, especially the ice cream sandwich.

Runza is awesome. This location gets only 4 stars because they don't have as good of a selection of soft drinks.

The selection skews towards IPAs but they generally have something for everyone. Each beer can come in different sizes depending how committed you are to trying a certain beer or just want a 5 ounce sampler. Food options here consist of some pretzel available to purchase but there is typically a food truck outside to help fill your stomach if you plan on staying awhile. The staff are not your typical bar staff but beer enthusiasts who are willing to wait on you hand and foot. The inside is very clean and simple - a nice, bright place to have a few drinks and chat with friends. The patio is great too when it's nice outside. All their brews are fabulous in my experience. My favorites are Great Plains Lager and the Cairns Pilsner (I am a fan of lighter beers if you couldn't tell). They have lots of different beer styles from Kölsches to Dunkels, and IPAs to Ales. So you'll definitely find something you like. They sell Kringles flavored pretzels for snacking on, or at least they did when I went last. Love those! Aside from that, they have food trucks that post up there as well, so definitely check their schedule to see who will be there when you want to go. For a local brewery, they have a pretty solid lineup of different brews, so I'd definitely check them out if you're in the Millard area!

The servers were attentive, fast, and knew the menu well enough to answer all our questions. Also important, this is a Coke Zero establishment. So I was already winning before the food even showed up. I went with the Husker Chicken Sandwich and sweet potato fries. I always ask for my fries well done, so yes, they looked extra crispy in the pic, and that was exactly what I wanted. They were perfect. The sandwich was huge, delicious, and something I will absolutely order again. Their honey mustard deserves its own shoutout. Top tier stuff. Now for the one downside. I know it's summer, but I absolutely froze in there. It felt like dining in a meat locker. I know not everyone is as cold-blooded as I am, and there are definitely worse things to complain about, but I was counting down the minutes until I could go thaw out in the car. Still, I'll be back. Just maybe in the fall. Or next time I'll bring a sweater. Or a blanket. Or both.

I will start off by saying that the staff here were all excellent, everyone was warm and friendly. The atmosphere was fine, it is in a new build in the middle of a suburban area, so it was about what i expected, it was nice and laid back. My wife ordered two of their specialty cocktails and they were both very good, I liked the queen bee the best. The food was very good as well, we started with a beef wonton appetizer, it was really good, it had nice pieces of rare beef with onions, slaw, and sauce on some very crispy wontons. We ordered the marsala glazed chicken and the meatloaf for our main courses, and both did not disappoint. The marsala chicken was tender and flavored well, and came on a bed of risotto and Brussels sprouts, the sprouts were excellent and all three ingredients worked very well together. The meatloaf was also excellent, it came topped with a tomato based gravy on top that had a great homemade taste, and the mashed potatoes were amazing, some of the best I've had in a while. We wanted dessert, but we're too full after a great meal.

We both tried the steak tacos from the appetizer list. Our favorite white wine was available. We received warm bread (which doesn't happen when you order an appetizer for your meal). Perfect warm bread. As a meat snob, the steak in the tacos was perfectly seasoned. The sauce was just right, and the side of peppers went well. The service and ambiance were amazing. They topped it off with two warm cookies. I feel like they thought I was a food critic. Normally, I don't write reviews. We will be back.

This is my second time coming to get the sirloin steak special on Wednesday. I think they have redone the place. It looked like they had New chair, chairs and table tables and I think the carpet was even new. They had a black theme going on which I thought made it feel like a little bit more of an upscale steakhouse, but still with the country charm. Our server with so sweet and took care of us very well. She came back to check on us often and was very helpful explaining things on the menu. We all ended up ordering the sirloin steak. You can choose the side of your choice . Our sides varied a little bit because my one friend can't have gluten, so she ended up ordering the baked potato. they were very accommodating and understood about needing to be careful with even the steak as they cooked it, to keep everything gluten-free. My other friend and I got the potato casserole. It was pretty good, but I wished I would've gotten the potato because I love a good baked potato with my steak. The sirloin steak was a great size and mine was done to perfection. It was a little tough in spots, but that is to be expected with sirloin. The flavor was fabulous, though. We had a nice corner table with a view out the window. The atmosphere is very enjoyable and it wasn't too loud. They have a huge dining area so we didn't have to worry about if we were going to get a table or not. I want to come back and try some of their other specials. Check out their website, it tells about each special that they have Monday through Friday and Saturday night they have prime rib! Round the Bend Steakhouse is definitely worth the drive, especially if you want to get out of the city and enjoy a nice little drive in the country. Mahoney State Park is close. Also, the Air Museum is by Mahoney. And Ashland has so many cool shops and a winery and a brewery.
