For something more filling, recommend the rotisserie chicken. The salad is lighter, but still satisfying. Club sandwich is huge and worth the value - For Drinks, we ordered a Vanilla Cream Soda& Hibiscus Mocktail ----- Drinks were slightly expensive but that's to be expected; recommended the cream soda Food was affordable and large in portion size, Drinks were slightly on expensive side. Our server was good, no complaints there. The ambiance is good. A little loud but concrete floors ... you expect it. The food is ok. We started with chips n dip. The queso reminds me of when I was a kid and you mix a can of chili with cream cheese. The chips are not house made... cheap and tasteless. I ordered shrimp n grits and while I as a southern girl enjoyed finding them in California, they are more watery than I would like. They need a bit more creaminess and cheese. The shrimp were decent, a bit over cooked and it overall needed more seasoning. My husband enjoyed his burger, nothing special but good. The cream soda was not sweet at all. Although I was warned about this it took me by surprise. I ordered the pear flavor but there was no flavor. It was $106 out the door and I feel like that is too much for what you get. Was able to sit right away and received great service from our bartender who was busy but she ensured to us that we would be taken care of shortly. Great customer service on her part and followed up with us on a timely manner. I think the place might have gone down hill. Today we visited after not being here for close to three years and all things seem to be mediocre. We called to see if we needed a reservation for our big family and the lady took our name and party size just in case. We arrived and the weren't ready for us, asking us to wait outside for 5 minutes. After getting our menus ready the woman in the front walked us to our seat which was on the bar side of the restaurant. They sat us at a table that would best be sat for 4 people comfortably, but the 5 of us (two hire chairs) squeezed in and made it work. The water took our drinker order and we asked to order our food as well. We ordered Pepperoni (kids), burger and fries (kids), two chicken strips and fries (kids), roasted beet salad with salmon and a Cowboy burger. We then asked if we could order the appetizer which consisted of chips and dip (queso and guac) and bang bag BBQ boneless chicken wings. The first thing to come out were the drinks, the the chicken wings. The littles were starving so we wound up sharing the wings with them and I am surprised they ate it because they did have a little kick to them. They were sweet and spicy at the same time. (This would actually be my top recommendation.) Mom's margarita had a flavor she could only think to describe as "gasoline-ish"... but not in an alcohol type way... just something off with the flavor. She really enjoyed her Baja fish tacos though. I had the Thai Peanut Salad and the quinoa felt really misplaced. I'm not quite sure why that was included, as it wasn't listed on the menu and would have not been what I went for had it been. After reaching the end of the street that transitioned into suburban homes, we found ourselves with two dining options: this place or the Country Rose Cafe. Parking here was challenging, and we ended up parking around the corner. While there was a pleasant outdoor dining area, it was too hot to use that day. The interior had a trendy barnyard theme, which felt a bit like being at Knott's Berry Farm. We were seated near the parking lot window, and the service was slow, though the waitress was friendly. The pictures of the Baja Fish Tacos looked amazing on Yelp, so I ordered it. They were quite good, but more fish would have been preferable, as the large tacos mainly contained condiments. The oven-roasted mushroom medley was a pricey side dish that disappointed, consisting of plain brown mushrooms that were overcooked, dried, and salty. In general, the place isn't bad, but it doesn't warrant a return visit. The tacos were the only positive aspect. The menu was basic. I've stopped by for pizza months ago in the evening and the restaurant was busy and lively. On my recent visit, it was after lunch hours and a little more quiet so if you want to avoid crowds, then lunch seems to be the best time to go. My order: -KEKONA BURGER: Hawaiian inspired burger with Kalua pork and pineapple chunks was sweet and tasty. If you're looking for a uniquely flavored burger then this is the one. The pork, pineapple, and bbq sauce combo was a nice change from the usual burger options. I opted for the Outlaw fries, which is their seasoned fries topped with a generous dusting of seasoning. $23 -COWBOY BURGER: Included cheese, 2 large battered onion rings, and thick cut bacon as well as all the toppings (pickle, tomato, lettuce). Not particularly memorable since it was just a regular burger if it didn't include the "Yeehaw" sauce. Paid an additional $1 for garlic fries, which I was satisfied with since the garlic was semi-cooked (so it wasn't raw and spicy) and very fragrant. $21 + $1 I think the price is a little steep for a burger and fries, but I will say the patties were THICK!! I wasn't asked about my preference for the patty, but they turned out perfectly with just a bit of pink. My tiny gripe is that the parts where the bun was grilled was definitely on the burnt side. I appreciated the fact that they separated my fries from the burgers since the burger juices/sauces leaked out and also put the Yeehaw sauce into a container for my take-out order. read more

I was really glad to see that they lowered their prices. It got too expensive for a bit. Especially when thr food is just ok. Not much here to chose from in Hollister. Many are over priced for the quality of the food, and atmosphere isn't great. Over all, it's not bad. And prob one of thr better places to have dinner. This restaurant is one of the nicer places in Hollister, several sections with tables and booths. There is also outdoor seating. We had a 10 minute wait to get a table on a Saturday night, not bad. Our server took our drink order and our drinks were served quickly. The menu had a lot of options, and there was also a "specials" menu how ever they did not include prices. We ordered and sat there waiting almost a half hour for our food to arrive. My wife ordered the seared scallops ($35) with wild mushrooms and butternut purée. She said it was good but a bit salty. Hubby and I are here in town for a 4wd Safety Clinic at the local off road park. A group of us decided to have dinner at this restaurant. I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad. There were "Add Ons" like grilled or fried chicken, Salmon, Shrimp, etc. Additional charge if course. I chose the Shrimp. Here's where it all went wrong. (Sad Face). The salad arrives with what looked like either extremely overcooked crustaceans or extra spicy and blackened. Well these suckered were like biting into a ghost pepper! I immediately removed them, after choking on the first bite, and summoned our waiter. BTW...Nowhere on the add on list did it mention the shrimp was spicy? He was very apologetic and asked if I'd like non spicy rebook. Yes please.. A few minutes later he returns to i form me ALL the shrimp they serve is preseason? Hmmmm? So disappointing. The salad alone was just ok too. Never saw or tasted the feta cheese and the shaved Fennel had no flavor? On the upside...the RR interior is really cute, clean and quite large. Service a bit slow, but no biggy. They did take off the Shrimp Charge plus another $5.00. Last but not least and To Whom It May Concern: The ladies room has 3 stalls. 2 regular and 1 handicapped accessible. There was NO seat on the handicapped toilet!? My wife and I dined here for dinner and were seated right away. The restaurant was clean and had a nice, relaxed vibe. Service was prompt, and our orders were taken quickly. We started with the Barnyard Fries, the soup of the day (clam chowder), and a couple of drinks--the San Benito Sunset and the Fashionable Rooster. Both appetizers were delicious and definitely something we'd order again. The drinks had a great balance of flavor and just the right kick. For our entrées, we went with the short ribs and the rotisserie chicken. The short ribs were tender and well-seasoned. However, the rotisserie chicken was a letdown--it was overly salty, to the point that even my wife and kids (who tried the leftovers) agreed it was too much. WOW!! I'm so disappointed :( I've been wanting to come here for years, and after one try I will NEVER come here again. So I ordered the cowboy burger medium rare with onion rings and my boyfriend got the farmhouse burger well done with garlic fries. Mine came out well done and his was medium rare... whatever they must have just mixed them up when putting them on the burgers. But his to go container was cover in oil from the fries. Like to a disgusting amount... then my onion rings smelled sooo gross. Like it was cooked in old dirty oil, and they were HARD like super stale as if they were sitting for days ( the one on my burger too )... we got food for my son too but needless to say it was thrown out before even trying! read more

It's a large place and the wait was very short. However, a few items we ordered were very over cooked, the ribs starter was very dry, my son's fries were basically burnt and a basket of sweet potato fries were as hard as chips . The toilet in the bathroom did not flush, toilet paper on the floor and there was no soap. However, I do have one suggestion: they recently switched their homemade ranch dressing to a new version, which unfortunately tastes much more generic. During our recent visit, we overheard the two tables next to us also mention to the waitress that they preferred the old recipe. We'd love to see the original ranch dressing brought back!
