    Cream soda
    Danelle S.

Our server was good, no complaints there. The ambiance is good. A little loud but concrete floors ... you expect it. The food is ok. We started with chips n dip. The queso reminds me of when I was a kid and you mix a can of chili with cream cheese. The chips are not house made... cheap and tasteless. I ordered shrimp n grits and while I as a southern girl enjoyed finding them in California, they are more watery than I would like. They need a bit more creaminess and cheese. The shrimp were decent, a bit over cooked and it overall needed more seasoning. My husband enjoyed his burger, nothing special but good. The cream soda was not sweet at all. Although I was warned about this it took me by surprise. I ordered the pear flavor but there was no flavor. It was $106 out the door and I feel like that is too much for what you get. I'm glad I didn't have to cook but ... the waitress made us box our own food up. And she wouldn't remove any dishes prior to setting down our dinner plates. That's not $106 worth imo.

    Thai chicken salad description

To start, service was friendly and helpful. Mom and I started with the guac and chips, which was actually our favorite part of the entire meal. The guac was very well done- perfectly seasoned! (This would actually be my top recommendation.) Mom's margarita had a flavor she could only think to describe as "gasoline-ish"... but not in an alcohol type way... just something off with the flavor. She really enjoyed her Baja fish tacos though. I had the Thai Peanut Salad and the quinoa felt really misplaced. I'm not quite sure why that was included, as it wasn't listed on the menu and would have not been what I went for had it been. The sesame seeds(?) also felt like, aside from texture, they didn't add to the dish in a beneficial way. It isn't something I'd order again. I also had a side of the grits which had a nice Smokey flavor. I would order that again. I'd rate closer to a 3.5 if I could.

I thought the ambiance was nice and the outdoor space was great! My food was very tasty and my waiter was friendly and efficient.

Everything is just ok. At best. The pizza should be so much better. The chicken pizza has like, almost no chicken. Just tons of cheese and sauce

After reaching the end of the street that transitioned into suburban homes, we found ourselves with two dining options: this place or the Country Rose Cafe. Parking here was challenging, and we ended up parking around the corner. While there was a pleasant outdoor dining area, it was too hot to use that day. The interior had a trendy barnyard theme, which felt a bit like being at Knott's Berry Farm. We were seated near the parking lot window, and the service was slow, though the waitress was friendly. The pictures of the Baja Fish Tacos looked amazing on Yelp, so I ordered it. They were quite good, but more fish would have been preferable, as the large tacos mainly contained condiments. The oven-roasted mushroom medley was a pricey side dish that disappointed, consisting of plain brown mushrooms that were overcooked, dried, and salty. In general, the place isn't bad, but it doesn't warrant a return visit. The tacos were the only positive aspect. The menu was basic. It's a decent option if you are in the area, but making a special trip is not recommended.

Great food. I really enjoyed the Rooster Benedict's. Calm environment and also enjoyed the outside seating. Service was great and friendly staff. Don't forget the bottomless mimosa's.

I've stopped by for pizza months ago in the evening and the restaurant was busy and lively. On my recent visit, it was after lunch hours and a little more quiet so if you want to avoid crowds, then lunch seems to be the best time to go. My order: -KEKONA BURGER: Hawaiian inspired burger with Kalua pork and pineapple chunks was sweet and tasty. If you're looking for a uniquely flavored burger then this is the one. The pork, pineapple, and bbq sauce combo was a nice change from the usual burger options. I opted for the Outlaw fries, which is their seasoned fries topped with a generous dusting of seasoning. $23 -COWBOY BURGER: Included cheese, 2 large battered onion rings, and thick cut bacon as well as all the toppings (pickle, tomato, lettuce). Not particularly memorable since it was just a regular burger if it didn't include the "Yeehaw" sauce. Paid an additional $1 for garlic fries, which I was satisfied with since the garlic was semi-cooked (so it wasn't raw and spicy) and very fragrant. $21 + $1 I think the price is a little steep for a burger and fries, but I will say the patties were THICK!! I wasn't asked about my preference for the patty, but they turned out perfectly with just a bit of pink. My tiny gripe is that the parts where the bun was grilled was definitely on the burnt side. I appreciated the fact that they separated my fries from the burgers since the burger juices/sauces leaked out and also put the Yeehaw sauce into a container for my take-out order.

By this point in the trip, we were fully committed to our "tapas style everything" philosophy. Why order one entrée each when you can create a tiny feast and slowly steal bites off each other's plates with zero shame? Over the two evenings, we shared the Berry Burrata Salad, Beet & Spinach Salad, cauliflower, Seared Ahi Tuna, Dungeness crab cakes, Angel Hair Pasta with shrimp, and lava cake. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the kind of texture that makes Italians nod approvingly from a distance. The crab cakes were flavorful and satisfying, and the beet salad thankfully avoided the tragic fate of being "healthy but boring." The lava cake was gloriously decadent and absolutely understood its assignment. The ahi tuna was good, though I wished for a bit more flavor to stand up to the wasabi situation happening on the plate. The Berry Burrata Salad was the only dish that felt a little sleepy. The berries seemed more decorative than committed. In a region overflowing with gorgeous local strawberries, I wanted the salad to lean harder into its fruity potential. Cocktail-wise, the pomegranate margarita was refreshing, balanced, and dangerously easy to keep sipping. Service was a mixed bag between the two nights. The first evening, our server gave off strong "this table again?" energy, and we had to remind her about bread. Meanwhile, one of the chefs stopped by to warmly thank us for dining there, which completely shifted the tone and genuinely stood out. Night two was a different experience altogether. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made the evening feel much more relaxed and welcoming. The space itself is lovely, warm, comfortable, with that slightly old-school elegance that makes you want to linger over another drink and pretend you are not in your hiking clothesq

The venue gave us the perfect balance of outdoor charm and indoor comfort. On the day of the wedding one thing I noticed as I walked in to set up; was everything was clean and the venue smelled fresh and clean. The ceremony was held on the patio, followed by a reception inside, and it easily accommodated 130 guests in rounds. From what I understand if we did rectangle family style we could have accommodated more, and had more design flexibility. From the very beginning, Eric was professional, welcoming, and a pleasure to coordinate with. He took the time to meet with us beforehand to go over details on multiple occasions, which made the planning process smooth and stress-free. I had the opportunity to meet his other half, Meghan as well. She was genuinely nice. She is a hairstylist in the area and although we did not utilize her services, and if you are all about timing and being efficient then this might be for you; it is a one stop shop just in separate locations. If you want to get your hair done for your special event then you should reach out to them and ask for a consultation, it is one less thing to coordinate. Even though I have experience in coordinating weddings, I appreciated Eric's insights. It is clear he knows their venue best, and his suggestions helped everything come together seamlessly. Once he recognized my ability to coordinate, and my attention to detail, he allowed me to step in, and the collaboration between the two of us made the entire experience fun, enjoyable along with some friendly banter between all of us. The Barn itself is a beautiful space, versatile enough for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Between the atmosphere, the attentive staff, and Eric's guidance, the entire day felt effortless and memorable. I would highly recommend The Barn for weddings, private parties, or any special event. It's a hidden gem in Tres Pinos, and we're grateful for the wonderful experience!
