Solid sandwich spot in Redwood City located right along the intersection of Broadway and El Camino!…read moreThey do have a parking lot but it's super small, probably only enough space for five cars. They have a couple of tables to sit at inside, all with barstool seating. The menu was extensive, but didn't seem to be as varied as the other Ike's location I went to. I'm interested to see how the menu changes across locations. Ordered the Hot Mama and got a bag of chips for checking in on Yelp. The sandwich was ready in around 10 minutes and was sizable. The chicken tasted like a rotisserie chicken from Costco (in other words, quality) and the Frank's Red Hot added some good spice while keeping the chicken from being too dry. However, when the Frank's ran out, the sandwich was a little bland. This is no way affected my rating, but they had an older digital POS system (it only takes card, no Apple Pay) that was a little hard to use; the cashier had to show me how to swipe my card through it. I thought this was kinda cool, cause I mainly see businesses using Toast, Clover, or Square terminals. For the amount of food you get for the price (around $13) and the quality of the meat, Ike's is definitely worth stopping by.

This is probably the only place where the sandwiches don't taste like the store's essence…read more I mean, don't get me wrong, a store's essence from any given deli/liquor store definitely adds unique character to the sandwich and sometimes I want that in a sandwich. But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Service is good and ambiance is a small humble shop on the corner of 12th Ave.

Mr.Happy is my favorite thus far. It's packed with fresh ingredients and enough to feed one hungry Mr or Mrs. You'll sure be happy after this meal. What's even better is that they have a dining area next next door. It's clean and filled with games if you just wanna hang out.

Parked in a nearby parking garage and there's several options at Santana Row. I walked towards the address, looked for Mas Veggies and found that it was Veggie Grill. Entered and had to use the restroom and was stopped because I wasn't a buying customer yet. So I explained I was going to use the restroom and then order. He was fine with it and that's what I did. Ordered and paid at a self service computer on the counter-- but you could order with a live person as well. Took a number and took it to a table. My order was brought to me. The guy even asked if I'd like a water cup. That was observant, thoughtful and nice. I had tacos and chik'n tenders. I've had the chik'n tenders before at a different location and this time was memorable-- better than I remember, would have again for sure. Tacos were good but if they weren't on the menu anymore, I wouldn't miss it. I did try to get one of the superfood smoothies and the very one I wanted was out. Of course. Good food, good service.

The counter service female was very nice and helpful. The sandwich was very good and we've eaten there many times in the past. When we both sat down to eat we noticed that our sandwich hadn't been cut in half. My girlfriend went back to the counter and asked a male kitchen employee behind the counter if he could cut our sandwich in half. The sandwich was completely wrapped in paper and we did not unwrap it at all prior to asking for it to be cut. His response was extremely rude and nasty. He claimed that it was already contaminated despite the fact that it was still completely wrapped in paper. He acted like we were putting him out by us asking him to simply cut the sandwich in half. He accused my girlfriend of "contaminating" the sandwich (in his words) just by touching it despite the fact that it was handled by 2 people before we even touched it. Basically, it was his scolding condescending tone that totally turned us off to ever visiting this place again. It only takes one lazy a--hole employee to ruin a great dining experience.

Tried the fresh spring rolls, SO refreshing -- like a salad -- but with delicious and gluten-free peanut sauce. Loved it. Quite filling as the two rolls are chonky. I took home the extra peanut sauce and used it on steamed potatoes, delicious. My father-in-law had a breakfast burrito which he took home half of, extra value, it's two meals. Hubby had the tofu scramble which was a bit dry, he added some of my peanut sauce to jazz it up. He wish he'd ordered his usual fave, the Bo Thai. But points for trying something new!
