It is a time for an updated review of the Runners Roost. This particular store has been at the new location for a while occupying former shoe stores. It is packed with all the essential supplies for the runners from shoes, clothing, suppliers and gears and more. I have been to this location several times and the workers are very attentive every time I walk into this store. Finally bought the necessary running gear that is not sold anywhere else. Walk in and you will be greeted immediately. Clothing are to the left, accessories at the front and middle and shoes to the back right and some more gears. To the left side has the clearance items and if you happen to have that odd sized foot, you might be in for a treat. This location carries all the cool and newest running gears that you need. I will be back to get the "On" shoes I have been eyeing on. Maybe the new Nike that is hard to find else where. I was recently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and my podiatrist recommended Dardano's or Runner's Roost to go buy some better shoes. While I had good luck with the staff and selection at the Colorado Boulevard Runner's Roost location many years ago, I now live closer to this Foxfield location, so I went there. All of the shoes they sell are good quality, and they certainly sell them at a large markup. I think that's OK if you have a knowledgeable salesperson. I did not. It made for a bad outcome, and now I'm stuck with $150 shoes that don't fit. I don't want to call him out by name, but my salesman didn't know what he was doing. At times, I don't think he could hear or understand me. He just sorta' talked. Honestly, I should have walked out when he measured my 9/9.5 foot as an 11. In retrospect, it was obvious that this wasn't going to end well. He brought out tons of 11's, and then at my request, 10.5 and 10's. I really needed a 9.5. After trying a bunch, I found one pair of 10's that was pretty good and bought it. When he checked the fit, he told me that they were too small and that, "I wouldn't want to run a marathon in them." I wore them around the house for a couple of days to try to make sure they fit, but that's not much of a test. I bought the shoes quickly so that when I walked around Disney World this week, my feet would feel better. The shoes helped with my plantar fasciitis, but they're too big for me, and they give me blisters. Understandably, they don't let you return shoes that are not in new condition, so I'm stuck with them. Some of this is my fault for not walking out of the store immediately, and I did buy the shoes. That said, I'm extremely disappointed with the outcome. To have such a clueless salesperson at an expensive shoe store is ridiculous. Again, their products are available cheaper elsewhere, so the only value the store can provide is quality customer service. Please save your money and go have a better experience somewhere else. read more

So I stopped in wondering about shoes for running and working out. I was super overwhelmed looking online and didn't know how to approach getting a new pair. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the staff. I explained my situation and the clerk, Anna, was super receptive. She helped me try on a couple different pairs from different brands. She actually helped me figure out that I am a 10.5 instead of a 9.5 and I ended up with a great pair of Brooks Ghost 16 shoes. Whenever I've been in the Denver area over the past 10 years, this is my go to spot when I need to replace my running shoes . The customer service is always great and they always have a good selection of running shoes to select from. I've also found cool running head phones and other fitness gear here. Runner's Roost new location is nice. Be forewarned, they have downsized quite a bit. Running shoe selection is very limited (a few Hoka's, NB and Saucony), sock selection is decent (balega's are way better than those $50 socks everyone wants from Facebook) and accessories are down to one end cap. There was only one employee working there, and we did not catch his name, but he did an AMAZING job keeping everyone helped and finding the right shoes for each person. Ok so I admit..... I am not.a.runner....gasp! I went here because my left ankle was hurting and I knew it had to do with the way I was planting my foot while standing and walking. I checked out Good Feet on Yelp! And when I saw that orthotics were several hundred dollars and no returns accepted I decided to go here. The sharpest gal helped me out by taking a look at my stride on camera and indeed, I am a supinator! A week later my ankle pain in near gone and I am almost ready to resume my Zumba activities. I appreciate the time spent to fix my issue and my pocketbook appreciated the $30 it cost for the proper orthotics. read more

Needed new running shoes and Runners Roost delivered. They have a treadmill where they do gait analysis in order to help narrow down the type of shoe that's right for your running. I liked the selection that they offered and was able to find new shoes relatively painlessly. Elizabeth helped me and was very good about answering my concerns and questions. I had to return to exchange my size and got help from two other associates. What I love about this is all the associates I've worked with are so passionate about running and excited for you! Went into Runners Roost today and was instantly greeted by Kyle who helped me and my wife into a pair of new running shoes. We told him about some of our issues and he jumped to it being in us a shoe he recommended and then had us go on the treadmill to analyze our run from there. We jump off the treadmill and Kyle recommends about 5 more pairs of shoes to try and find the perfect fit. I ended up going with a pair of adidas and my wife a pair of brooks running shoes. I would highly recommend runners roost for your next show purchase. All the staff was friendly (Kyle helped us but I don't remember the other woman's name who also gave us some helpful info). Oh boy what am I in for? So I was hesitant to be honest when I walked in here I almost walked out actually it was so packed from what my understanding was a run club meet up. There were people everywhere and staff running back and forth. I kind of just stood in the middle of the store, no one said hello or if I was looking for something. I was getting bothered and was thinking I am not going to get the help I was hoping to get. Well I am here so let's see what happens, I just walked up to the cashier and a gentlemen approached and welcomed me. I explained to him my problem which is very involved ( Swollen feet and ankles that go numb when I run, knee pain in one leg, my running form needs help, I run on the ball of the foot! So he took all of this in and went right to work with me, being a bit crowded with all the people he made some room for us to sit and from then on we were in our own zone! He was so focused and knowledgeable. I was his main focus, not disracted by the crowded store and only left me to get more shoes. He examined they way I walked and wear my feet touch the ground then brought out some shoes which I said was either 6 or 6/12 which I have always worn.... Right away he noticed my walking form with the new shoes and could tell something was off... I thought they were comfortable and snug. That's what part of my problem was! I am a Seven!! All this time I should have be wearing a seven to give my toes room they don't need to be sungged. None of the other running stores I have been to ever caught this!! Feet swell when you run and my 61/2 shoes were the cause of most of my problem! After much trying on and treadmill runs (they do this to examine wear your feet hit and what kind of runner you are to fit you for the right shoe) my from was even better I was running with a form of a mid runner instead of a ball of foot which was causing the stress in my ankles and calves. I was so happy and relieved when we finally found a shoe that was perfect for my feet! He was so sincere and understanding to what my kneads were, very knowledgeable, asking me questions and giving me tips that I have never even thought about when running. New to Colorado, I went into the store this morning for the first time. A young man asked if he could help right away. I asked him about running shoes comparable or better than the shoes I was wearing. He vaguely explained some of the shoes and then got on the phone. I had questions; however, apparently the phone customer was more important than the in store customer ready to spend $160 or more on shoes. After he finished the phone call, he came back to get me a shoe to try on. Once he handed me the right shoe, he got back in the phone with the left shoe in his hand. To try on both shoes, I had to wait for him to get off the phone. He finally gave me the left shoe and got back in the phone. I walked around the store with the shoes on waiting for him. I was looking at other shoes but he never got off the phone. I finally took the shoes off, put my shoes back on, put my jacket on, and walked out. He was still on the phone when I left. I could purchase the same shoes online for a few bucks cheaper but I was trying to support local businesses. My mistake. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this running store read more

I went to this store to get my son a pair of running shoes thinking they were the experts right???? Wrong, I was greeted by an annoyed teenager that I was even in there. When I asked about running shoes for my son, she pointed to the shoes and said we only have one pair for kids. Are you freaking kidding me??? RUNNERS ROOST??? I have shopped at this store for 7 years, having 4 HS XC and track athletes. We have had extremely helpful friendly and knowledgeable assistance every time - but not today. Jess, who I learned was the Manager, was condescending, short, and spoke in a tone that was reminiscent of being berated by someone who wanted you to know she knew way more than you did. When we asked her a question about a new shoe being released (that we had learned about at the pre-state meet Saucony Rep) she started lecturing me in a very loud voice (the other employees and customers all turned around) that the shoe would not give any support. Actually she was completely wrong as it is the new Saucony Guide which is a stability shoe. I will need to find out next steps since she is a Manager - she was the first employee in over 7 years that had me walking out the door feeling embarrassed and upset - and without a new pair of shoes... read more

Don't order shoes from here if you actually want new shoes. I ordered shoes from them. They didn't have my size so they had to be ordered. After approx. 3 wks waiting. I called them asking about shoes. They said they should arrive in the next day or two. At the end of the week I called them and supposedly they arrived at my house on the same day they said a day or two more. Anyway I never got them. Why do businesses insist on alienating customers with the capricious application of policies they have direct control over? Case in point: This location refused to honor a 15% merchandise discount because it was not used on the same exact day of picking up a BolderBoulder race packet. This, despite the fact that when I came in last week to pick up four packets (mine, plus one for each of the kids I had in tow) I was told that because I was short on time, I could come back at a later time and still use the discount. Well, I was about to head over there yesterday to drop some $$ and called ahead to make sure they would still honor the 15% if I brought my packet with me. The answer was a curt no and an abrupt hang up. Really Runners Roost? You would rather lose a customer forever, than give up 15% of your markup on a sale? I'm always willing to pay a little more to support small, locally-owned business, but not when they treat me that way. I have wide feet and came in to try to replace a pair of shoes that had worked really well for me in the past. They had nothing in stock to fit a wide foot, but ordered a pair of "wider" Mizuno's from another store which was the best they could do. They arrived in a week and seemed to fit pretty close. I was somewhat desperate to get a pair of shoes to start to train so I settled and ended up with a shoe too narrow for my feet. Needless to say - I won't be going back. read more

The worst experince at a store ever. If i could give a zero i would. I walk in the store and see about 3 pairs of sneakers i like. Not one of them do the have in my size or even in a half size bigger . But everytime the guy comes out he brings me another sneaker that they do have in my size. So either there trying to push sneakers they cannot sell or someone there does not know how to order stock.. I finally pick out one pair for me and my wife, pay with my amex and sign. Next thing you know the guy says my card did not get approved and to swipe again. I clearly saw the machine say approved so immediately i check my amex app and it says the charge was approved and pending. I the guy then tells me it was voided so i call amex on speaker so that him and the manager both can hear. Amex confirms the charge went thru. The manager insiats that it does not matter what amex or my app says and that they did not recieve and funds. She then proceeds to ignore me and start making phone calls . I wait patiently thinking she can contact someone with half a brain to help us out but after 30 minutes i grew tired of the situation and opted out to just charge it back. The people in this place are rude and do not know how to work a cash register at all.. Runner roost spend time training these highschool dropouts if you want people to spend their hard earned money there.. I for one will never be going back to runners roost. They did not apologize for the inconvenience and implied that it was my fault there system was not running correctly or that there dumb employee voided the transaction.. Well thank God theres many more places for me to buy sneakers from that has there stores in order. read more
