We stopped for drinks, and enjoyed the views while relaxing over cocktails. The atmosphere is classy as expected at the Fairmont, but our waiter could have used a bit of training.
I was so excited for tea here for my birthday, but then they could not seat us by the window, which was disappointing, but we still got pictures there at the end so that was fine. When I asked her why, she said it depended on when we made the reservation. I told her I made it a month ago and she said the other party also made it a month ago but right before me. Sounded like a lie to me. The view is spectacular. That's why you want a window spot, otherwise you can't see anything and it's not even worth it. While the tea is excellent. I thought the food that was part of the tea was just OK. I've had better food at teas in Vegas and also at the Grand Floridian in Orlando. Also, you can get the same tea at the spa for free. So just go to the spa and try all the teas, plus their snacks are free. FYI: The following tees are the ones that are also found at the spa that are on the menu; creamy Earl Grey, decaffeinated English breakfast, imperial breakfast, Kyushu Japan sencha, Flores's Barry garden, Egyptian chamomile, and Oregon Mint. These were found at the spa, but I did not see on the menu, but they might call them something else: revitalize green and white tea, skin and beauty, and Jasmine gold dragon. Menu pic is attached. So the sandwiches, the mushroom and truffle was so gross. They just need to get rid of that one. My mom and I both like mushrooms and truffle and that was not good. We both did not like that one. The deviled ham was good, the egg salad sandwich was a little bland, chicken was OK and the salmon was good. Out of the desserts they had on the tray, I pretty much liked them all except the chocolate ones, but that's only because I'm not a chocolate fan. My mom liked that one and she likes chocolate.. they had Pavlova, green apple moose, forest berries, Saint-honore, which was a white chocolate ganache and a pastry cream, and macaroons. They start you off with Prosecco, which was nice and delicious. Definitely try the creamy earl grey tea. That is the best. I later switched to Flora's Berry garden, which was good as well, but I did like the creamy earl Grey better, which is strange because I never like Earl Grey tea. So that's how good that one was! Oh, and definitely eat the biscuits with jam. The jam was amazing!
After golf, we headed to Rundle Bar for a cocktail and snack. Parking is a pain, but figure it out because it's a cool place to hang after a hike, hike, or round of golf. We used the paid ramp. We asked to sit outside and got a table near the edge of the patio. The views are stunning. I had a glass of wine and we split the chips and guacamole. It was so good. Henry was our server and he was excellent. He got our requests quickly but also took time to chat and offer suggestions for the remaining days of our visit. Great stop.
We stopped in before our dinner reservation at The Grape to have a drink and a few little appetizers. We got carried away. I got carried away. I actually don't drink alcohol so mine was a boring Diet Coke. As for the food, we got 4 for the 3 of us, Warm Olives, Rundle Mini Wings, Little Gems Salad, and Chili Pork Dumplings. My favorite were the wings with their sweetness from the black truffle honey. The salad was also very good, nice plating, lots of stuff. The dumplings themselves lack flavor but a chili sauce made up for it. The numerous large olives looked impressive but were bland, no strong olive taste, no saltiness. Rundle was very nice, spread out, comfortable seats, a great view out of our window. As a tourist I suppose looking in any direction is a 'great view', this is such a beautiful part of the world. Our server worked closely with us throughout our visit, a nice person who provided information and recommendations, and shared experiences. We ate so much we pushed our dinner reservation back half an hour.
Arrived after a long day on tour bus. We are staying at the Fairmont, so not interested in going to far. Not hungry enough for a full dinner, so we settled on the Rumble Bar. It's a beautiful space, and the views out the windows are breathtaking. The space is well appointed, but not especially for our party of six. The modern looking tables and chairs didn't lend themselves to being pushed together. We made it work. The drinks and food are overpriced, but you're at a Fairmont. We ordered a couple drinks and sandwiches. I got the Ember Cocktail, and my spouse ordered a Amber Ale. Good choices. We tried a Lobster Roll and Pork Belly Bowl. While we were waiting they brought us some nuts and popcorn. Which was delicious and took the edge off the hunger. Lucky for us, because it took a bit to server our food. The Lobster Roll was okay, but not up to Fairmont standards. It was more of a Maine style, more like lobster salad. And there was more roll than lobster. The Pork Belly very good, warm flavorful, and a good portion. There are plenty of other great places to dine. We won't be coming back to this one.
Came by for afternoon tea $90 pp. Great views and great tea bites! Doesn't sound like a lot of food but we were stuffed with delicious sandwiches and pastries.
Absolutely beautiful experience. The Fairmont built in 1888 is fun to explore and the views are one of a kind. Service is definitely 5 star! Start with Persecco and biscuit and jam and then on for leisurely tea, sandwiches and sweet treats!
Located inside the Fairmont Banff. There's guest parking after the round about in the back. It's $15 per hour and on the left is the outdoors parking and the right side is covered parking. To get to the Rundle Bar you have to walk through the entrance and take the elevator up 1 floor. It's on your right when you exit the elevator. We were lucky enough to be able to score a table on the patio. This is the move if you come here. Great views of the valley and the mountains. It was a bit hot when we were there, but the staff was nice enough to move us to a more shaded area. The drinks here are just ok, but the food was pretty good. Especially the calamari. But expect the pricing to be higher than normal because it's the Fairmont and you are paying for the view. You don't get a lot with the calamari, so you will need to pair that with another item as that will not fill you up.
Afternoon Tea service review - STUNNING. Absolutely my favorite afternoon tea service that I had ever attended. First of all, if you're lucky enough to sit by the window, your views will be spectacular and it will only elevate your experience. The tea selection and the food items were all delicious!! If you're concerned about dietary restrictions, you can discuss with your host! The staff was amazing and so pleasant, cannot thank them enough for the great experience. Photos and words do not do this place justice, I wish I could go here every weekend!
Chic, cozy, and worth every sip -- Rundle Bar delivers. Rundle Bar is the kind of place you wander into for a drink and end up staying for the atmosphere. Nestled inside the stunning Fairmont Banff Springs, the space strikes that rare balance of historic charm and modern elegance. Think castle vibes but with cocktail flair. We grabbed a seat by the massive windows with views of the Rockies -- you really can't beat that backdrop. The drink menu is curated but creative. I had the espresso martini and it was perfection -- balanced, not too sweet, and presented beautifully. The bartenders know what they're doing and are happy to make recommendations. Small plates were just as solid. The charred avocado and dumplings were fabulous. It's a great spot for a pre-dinner drink, wind-down, or just to people-watch in plush armchairs. Yes, it's on the pricier side -- but you're paying for the experience, the view, and that Fairmont-level service. Totally worth it. Would absolutely come back. Great for dates, drinks with friends, or a solo moment of main-character energy.
My friend and I went for cocktails at Rundle Bar, located in the Fairmont Lake Louise. The ambiance was moody and very relaxing. We were able to secure a seat with an amazing mountain view; it made our experience. I ordered the Rundle Gin cocktail, which is their homemade gin. The cocktails were around $20+ and served with nuts and popcorn. Would recommend!
Best place for high tea or chatting with friends, especially with a million-dollar view of Mt. Rundle!! Our server Amy hails from England, so we knew we were up for a true tradition of High tea at one of the best places known for scenery unmatched anywhere!! We entered the Rundle Bar and caught a glimpse of a floor to ceiling library, which turned out to be a secret door to an epic Speakeasy!! The Fairmont Banff Springs just exudes old world luxury and offers the finest in service, whether for high tea or special events like birthdays, anniversaries, or weddings. We thoroughly enjoyed our tea with the variety of sweet and savory sandwiches and scones and desserts! The view is unrivaled and made for an unforgettable experience! Amy was so knowledgeable about the many teas from around the world and she provided outstanding friendly service!

Rundle Bar is versatile - you can either come here for a fancy lunch/afternoon tea, or for some upscale bar experience during happy hour/late nights! The dress code is smart casual, and my party definitely was not dressed for the occasion since we only packed hiking outfits. I came here with my parents on Thanksgiving day in the afternoon. We were able to make reservation on OpenTable, and had the option to choose an afternoon tea set or a la carte. I found out later through our server that reservations are typically only for parties that are interested in afternoon tea. Nonetheless, we were able to seat at the corner of the restaurants with beautiful views facing the bow river and the corner of the castle - just beautiful views! Aside from the views that we were taking in, the food was fantastic as well. Ordering a la carte, the dishes were a bit smaller in size, but are good for sharing and sampling a few with your party. Of all, my favorite was the duck wings appetizer, and the chips from the bison burger dish. The bison burger itself didn't quite meet my expectations, since I wasn't expecting it to be shredded. All in all, this was a great experience. The price for ordering a la cart dishes wasn't quite expensive, and the views were just beautiful. Would recommend for anyone who's staying in the hotel to stop by! read more

This review is for the 360 Dome experience which service is provided between either restaurant. Our waiter was at Rundle. Overall the staff experience was great--our waiter was kind and the staff has gotten the entrance and delivery to a T. I think I would've preferred to sit inside. The view was excellent, but the food lacked sustenance given the high price tag and how long we waited. We had 10 in our party, and the dinner was ~4 hours long, for 7 courses. It was challenging to wait 30-45mins after being done with a course, for the next one. I might consider doing the dome again for a short brunch, or just drinks and with a much smaller party. read more
Just... wow! You expect this place to be extravagant and is still exceeds your expectations. We came for cocktails and a few hors d'oeuvres and had a great dining experience with a view. We got the waiters recommended drink, with a gin crafted exclusively for the for the bar by a local distillery. The drinks and appetizers were delicious and portions were perfect for a seating of three to four (only two this time as we may or may not have just finished a 10 mile hike)! We got the potato chips and the Albacore Tuna. I could've had the potato chips alone they were so good. The chips were homemade and addicting to say the least. The caramelized onion dip that comes along side the chips...I wish I could bottle it and take it home. The albacore tuna was light and refreshing with such unique flavors. It's a one of a kind dish. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and helped us choose our cocktails. He steered us in the right direction. All in all, if you come here you won't be disappointed. read more

This place is really just about the view as far as I can tell. The view is nice. There's a bit of a pond and golf course. My husband and I didn't try the food, but had a couple drinks and the cookie dessert. The drinks were decent. For the cookie just beware that it does come with nuts and they cannot do it without nuts and it's also impossible to avoid the nuts. I was terribly disappointed by this, so my husband had to eat the whole thing. He thought it was okay. So between the okay dessert and the okay drinks this place is going to be rated okay by me. 3 stars. read more

Lovely space for an afternoon drink or snack. I LOVE a good espresso martini, and this was one of the best I've had. Smooth and balanced, the drink wasn't too sweet. It also came with a cute chocolate marshmallow! The crepe cannoli was lovely and unique. Our server was very kind and accommodating as we spent a couple hours in the lounge. Located in the stunning Fairmont Hotel in downtown Banff, Rundle Bar is a must-visit spot. We were saving money and staying down the street in a hostel, but wanted to come enjoy this castle-like hotel one evening. Anyone can walk in to snag a drink or snacks at the Rundle Bar. This bar is beautiful and while they do have an indoor section, you should definitely go out back. The back has an amazing view of the mountains, a huge pool below, tons of cozy outdoor furniture, fire pits, blankets, and even had live music when we stopped in. A server came over as soon as we sat down and recommended some fun drinks. He was so awesome and personable. The cocktails weren't cheap, but we each just got one and enjoyed the drop-dead stunning outdoors while drinking it slowly, so it was definitely worth it. Highly recommend at least coming to take a look at the view here! read more
It is located on mezzanine two of the Fairmont Banff. When you walk in, you are greeted by a live pianist and views of tunnel mountain. We went for high tea for my friend's birthday. The tea set is $82 cad per person. Each person gets to choose their own tea and we opted for the Ontario Ice wine (white tea with berry notes) and Masala Chai. The white tea was on the lighter side and I enjoyed it more to complement the sweeter desserts. My friend enjoyed the Chai more as it was very flavorful. There's an hourglass timer on the table so you can steep your tea to your liking (light, medium, strong). The food menu is set and you start off with some scones accompanied by clotted cream and orange marmalade. Then came the rest of the food on a tower. There was an egg salad sandwich, goat cheese quiche, Icelandic salmon dill sandwich, chicken salad sandwich, lamb curry roll, tomato fennel roll, and roasted beets and thyme Choux pastry. Each one was light and flavorful. The desserts included a pistachio pinwheel, caramel praline eclair, raspberry matcha cake, espresso infused cheesecake, and dark chocolate ganache cake. My favorites were the Icelandic dill sandwich and espresso infused cheesecake. Parking: There is street parking a block down or paid parking in the covered lot behind the conference center. read more

What a gorgeous spot to perch, admire the views & enjoy a killer custom cocktail. Located Inside the famous historic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, it's Swanky but not stuffy. Great people watching & the complimentary spicy popcorn is a tasty complement to the drinks. Had to try the famous Rundle Gin & Tonic... not only is it a gorgeous drink , it tastes amazing. This Gin is exclusive to the Fairmont Banff. It had an almost floral taste with citrus notes & juniper & it gets its purple color from a tea infusion. It's served with juniper berries, orange wheels & a sprig of Rosemary. You add your own Fever-tree Premium Tonic water to taste. Oh & btw you can also have the sugar free version of the tonic water if you prefer. Service was impeccable. Loved this bar for apps and dessert! My fiancé and I came both nights we stayed at the Fairmont. The chips and dip were amazing!! The chips were freshly made and warm - seriously you need to try them. Additionally, the warm chocolate sea salt cookie was the perfect way to end the night. Thai place is a little more upscale and pricey; however, being in the fairmont that is to be expected. They have an extensive drink menu, and offer a variety a small plates to accompany them. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're staying in Banff. read more

We were so excited for our afternoon high tea at the princess castle of Banff! The hotel is gorgeous and was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. Patio was full, multiple weddings ongoing, etc. We made our way to Rundle (way finding in the hotel isn't the best) and was shown to our table. Afternoon tea time allotment is 2.5 hours. Our server Amy was very sweet and accommodating. As somewhat of a self-proclaimed tea expert, the teas were mediocre quality. My Darjeeling tasted very bland/light - either not enough tea or the tea leaves were not of quality. I didn't even bother taking out the bag because it was so light. Same story with the oolong. The scones arrived first, followed by the tea tower. The savory bites were all quite good. The pastries, not so much. I hope the Pastry Chef takes this to heart - but the only pastry the group of 6 enjoyed was the eclair. Perfect portion of cream filling to flakey light exterior. Everything else was extremely heavy/dense, tasted off, or was dry. Worst offender was what was supposed to be matcha cake. It was layered with incredibly sour raspberry and "yuzu", which frankly tasted more like coconut. As a matcha lover, it was offensive! The ambiance and of course the view was one of a kind, but the actual substance was disappointing, especially at a property as iconic as the Fairmont Banff. We had a live DJ who was great, drinks were excellent, couldn't ask for more after wonderful dinner. Whether you're staying here or not (hopefully you are) do check out this bar. Rundle Bar was at this rime, the only restaurant open for lunch and dinner at the Fairmount Hotel in Banff ( formerly Banff Hot Springs). The venue was fantastic, luxurious with a spectacular mountain backdrop. After going to it's spa, we decided to treat ourselves for lunch. Although Fairmont's Rumble offers high tea, we opted instead for it's nice culinary cuisine. Everything was great except that we didn't feel welcomed from the hostess and our waitress. It was a bit different considering it wasn't full. Very pricey for the type of food we ordered...I guess we expected more like Rimrock hotel's Eden. Great signature cocktails and a great week wine list. $$$-$$$$ read more

If there is one thing you do while visiting Banff, have lunch on a sunny day at the Rundle Lounge. Aside from getting to explore the wonderful Banff Springs Hotel, you enjoy great food, pleasant service and a world class view. I've always enjoyed my meals at Rundle. This one was particularly good, the Rundle Beef Burger with a side Bistro salad. They offer gluten free versions of every sandwich as well. Check it out! Just returned after a few years. Rundle has updated its menu, more shareables and appetizers, fewer full lunches. But the food remains excellent and the view of the mountains hasn't changed a bit! read more

My review is based on Afternoon Tea on Boxing Day on the 2nd floor. This was the highlight of my trip to Banff! I'd heard about Christmas at the Castle and I wasn't disappointed at all. The Rundle Lounge is a spot at the Fairmont Banff Springs. We parked in the little parking lot. We paid C$24 for about 2 hours. I'm not sure if we'd be able to valet park, but we didn't try. Tea is served on the upper level of the Rundle Lounge. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the hostess who led us to our table with the most beautiful v i e w s of the mountains. Each table had a lovely setting and including a tea sampler box where you could choose 1 tea per person. I went for the Egyptian Chamomile while my husband chose the Christmas Tea special. There's an option to do the Champagne Tea which includes champagne and a fancy cheese board. The afternoon tea sandwiches and desserts were the perfect amount for the 2 of us. (I even was able to take some of the desserts home as I couldn't finish mine!) While we were waiting, we were served a fruit cup of tiny sliced cubes of fruit. Our tea came and we used the table's sand timers to remind us when to remove our bags from the pot. Super handy! I need one of those at home as I'm an avid tea drinker. Our sweets and sandwiches were presented on a triangular wooden serving platter with the scones and chocolate crinkle cookies on top followed by the desserts and the savory sandwiches on the bottom layer. Our server was friendly and nice, and she explained what each sandwich and sweet item was. My favorites were the egg salad (I'm a vegetarian) and surprisingly the mushroom hummus. For the sweets, I liked the macaron and the carrot cake. The scones were tasty as well and traditionally eaten first. In addition to the tea, I enjoyed a lovely glass of Chilean rosé. Our bill came to $109 including tip. I think the tea service was less than $50 per person. Honestly, this was the perfect place to spend a cold afternoon in Banff. I absolutely loved it. Afterward you can explore the grounds of the hotel and enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations. read more

I was very pleased with my experience here. You're able to choose your own seat and to my surprise, we were able to sit right at the windows facing the mountains with no issue. The view is unbeatable and you could spend hours just sitting there admiring it. I got the pulled pork sandwich and was really surprised with how much I liked it. The flavours were great and the chips paired well. Our server was fast and friendly as well. Everything is expectantly a bit pricey but the experience is worth it. read more

We came here on a Friday at noon and the place was empty, so we could sit anywhere we wanted. We found a table near the window and ordered the famous Fairmont Banff Springs Wildflower (purple gin+tonic) drink, the pulled pork sandwich, the prosciutto flatbread, and shrimp cocktail for lunch. The shrimp cocktail only comes with 5 pieces of shrimp, but they are very large pieces and cooked to perfection. If I wasn't so full from the other dishes, I would have easily ordered another shrimp cocktail! The pulled pork sandwich was nice and tender, and the flatbread was done really well. Of course, you can't beat the view! It was sunny on the day we visited, so after we placed the food order we went outside to take a few photos (the view was gorgeous). You don't need to stay at Fairmont Banff Springs to dine at Rundle Bar, which was very nice. Our server was super friendly and the food service was quite fast (maybe because there weren't too many diners at the time). Overall fantastic experience. read more

Last week I visited the terrace and I still can't stop thinking of it! After a hike nearby, we decided to splurge on a drink and app at the Fairmont at the top of the hill. We went into this knowing we'd be spending a little more than extra but I was really happy with the variety of options between drinks and food. I had an apricot sour beer and we ordered the guacamole to split. The guacamole was really unique, with a good amount of citrus and pepitas. Portion was just enough to split. Service was great, staff was very attentive and friendly. And you're truly there for the view which absolutely delivers. It was a fun splurge to check out! read more

The food here was excellent, a lot of familiar offerings I had tried at other dining restaurants. It was interesting to experience the fairmont twist to those options. The portions were small, and the meals are kind of pricey. However, it's a Fairmont standard it's to be expected. Not to mention it's in Banff, AB as well. This place has a very nice mountain view. Came here with 2 other friends and we just needed a place to sit down and have some water. So I tried the plain quesadilla and the Rundle BBQ Beef Burger. First off the quesadilla came with salsa, sour crème and guacamole on the side. I have to say their quesadilla is very tasty. The burger was delicious. It was a bit greasy but its real meat. Very delicious. Service was slow but we don't mind. We just sit here and enjoy the view longer. The view looking out the window was surreal. Especially a picture I took. Somehow the background looked fake. But it was beautiful. The décor is old Victoria style but its inside Fairmont and Fairmont hotel always had that kind of style. read more

I booked myself Afternoon Tea as a treat and the experience went above and beyond my expectations. The staff were amazing. The views of the mountains are absolutely breathtaking, and the live piano added to the ambiance. I appreciated that I was contacted ahead of time about any dietary restrictions and that my allergy was accommodating buy substituting for another sandwich that was still unique from the other served to me. I loved all the food, it was all very fresh and full of flavour. If you enjoy earl grey tea then I suggest picking the Creamy Earl Grey tea. read more
