In need of a pedicure, it was a no brainer to visit them again. Upon checking in, I was surprised to realize I had not reviewed them previously. I was able to be serviced immediately upon arrival there. I was given a list of services to peruse as the water was prepared. I selected the Bath Bomb Pedicure from their list of specialty spa treatments. I was offered and accepted a mimosa to drink during the service as done during my prior visit. I came here about a month ago for a full set and was told my next visit would be a refill for 35 (not including design). I even called ahead this time to confirm, but when I arrived, the price changed to $40 plus design, which brought my total to $65. The price itself isn't really the issue--I understand designs cost more--but I asked for a slightly shorter length before we started. The nails were the right length at first, but by the time the service was finished, they were filed down much shorter than what I asked for. My first appointment one month ago was great. I really liked the way the lady did my nails and pedicure. So I scheduled an appointment the next time with the same women. I booked one week in advance. I get to my appointment and I had to wait 15 minutes before they set me up for my pedicure. Now it's been 1 hour and a half and no one came to do my nails. I asked and they said they are really busy, why even make appointment. Plus I didn't see the woman that did my nails last month there. Why couldn't they let me know she wasn't there any longer. I showed them my reference photo and they said they could do it. However from the looks of it, my nails don't compare to the inspo photo at all... I originally wanted blue stripes, but after witnessing the difficulty creating the oranges/cherries, I told her to switch to french tip instead. Even the french tips took her awhile and they are very thick and halfway up my nail. I was understanding and left enthusiastic because I know she tried her best, but I would've liked them more if she at least made the french tips more presentable. read more

Couldn't get it with my normal nail shop in a pinch, so tried this one out. I got a basic pedicure only. The environment and aesthetic was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Getting in was easy. Pedicure was awful. while trimming my cuticles she cut me 3 times so badly that I gasped and withdrew my foot. After she was done with my pedi I was about to leave and she pulled out the clippers AGAIN.Ive never had someone do this at this point. Yup, and cut me again. They overcharge and are sneaky about it. I have been going there for a couple of years and they had always been good to me until recently. I had felt like the prices were getting higher on a few occasions, but was willing to pay for good service. Today I went in for underarm wax and only that. When I got out, she told me it was $25 (which was higher than usual) but I paid. When she had me sign the receipt, I see it says "back" and I ask her about it and she tells me, that's the same price and takes the receipt from me while smiling. That didn't sit well with me. So I ask my husband to call and inquire. He was quoted $20 for underarms. I know it's $5, but it's the fact that you are sneakily overcharging for what reason? Needless to say, I won't be back. I don't mind paying $25, if that's what it costs, but not because you want to be dishonest. I've recommended several friends there and they are aware of their dishonest business practices. read more

I was pleased with Rumors Nails & Spa until Vivian my nail tech was taking advantage of my GENEROSITY! Upon until recently when I took a stand about being a better steward of my money and watching where and who I give my money to. A few weeks ago, I went to see Vivian about a nail I broke, I only needed 1 nail fixed because I was attending an event and I must look my put together. 1 $8 nail including tip ended up costing me $25, I didn't question it because I TRUSTED her and I just said to myself I'm going to start watch her. I want to say each time I walked out of there I was spending about $200 with tips (nails & pedicures). That's pricey I know but I'm picky and I value GOOD WORK, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and in the tipping industries TIPS show your servicer you really value them. I was working the upcoming weekend and my nails must look on point, I didn't need a refill because I was just there 2 weeks prior. Strangely 1 nail broke $8 and I walk outta there spending $20, I was distracted on the phone paid and left. Truth be told, I didn't tip her this time. I handled some business up the street and noticed my nail looked jacked up to the point I went back to the shop at 4pm in the afternoon. I'm pointing out 4 pm because the traffic would be horrible going home and I was very much irritated because there was NO denying what I previously suspected...THAT GIRL WAS GOUGING ME and taking advantage of my kindness. I bypass MS. Tina and nicely, pleasantly with a smile spoke to Vivian about it. RED FLAGS RED FLAGS started waving, Vivian had an attitude...feeling some type of way by my complaint! That girl wanted to fix my crooked, out of shape botched up nail with the emery board (my apologies I didn't snap a picture). I said "Noooo, replace it". She proceeded to want to grind it down, I snatch my finger and instructed her to soak it off,...girl quit playing with me! I then ask her, how did I come in here intending to spend under $10 and Jezzus take the wheel....she says " I only made $6 off yours nails" I replied "I didn't ask YOU what YOU made, this is about ME the customer". Little Miss. Thang, go run and tattle tale on me, I ear hustle and SHES upset at ME?! Girl STOP! I explain MYSELF because first off, IM THE CUSTOMER, IM ARTICULATE ENOUGH TO USE MY THROAT CHAKRA and NOT the one who just walks out and NEVER come back. NO you wronged me and I HELPED with the expansion of the shop! I requested someone else and upon talking to Ms.Tina, the $6 Vivian made off of me now goes to Ms. Anna who is my 2nd choice. Less that 24hrs later, 1 of the 3 nails she fixed split in the same exact spot Vivian was supposed to fix the last I complained. The ONLY reason I returned after that day was because I should not have to go somewhere else and pay again! I returned and Christ a 3rd nail she was supposed to have fix was breaking. Nope don't bandage my nail, replace it. Tit for tat, to replace that nail would come out of Vivian's pocket. Upon checking out, I informed Ms. Tina I would NOT be returning because the shop should be compensating me and appreciating me as a valued customer. Businesses need to stop with the foolishness and we as customers need to speak up and not just turn the other cheek. My thoughts are this when it comes to business, EVERY business owner will have to takes a loss at some point. To keep one's business doors open and prosperous CUSTOMER SATISFACTION is the key. Yeah, I get you can't please every customer, ITS the GUUUD customers that are keys to your success. When you loose business due to an employee, dock that employee to keep that loyal customer. Loyal customers bring other customers (as I have) if business don't keep the loyal customers they do have, your taking steps backwards. It's MUCH cost effective to get rid of a bad employe/hit them in their pockets than to loose guaranteed money from repeat customers. Just like there's signs posted in a business establishment "We reserve the right to refuse service CUSTOMERS HAVE THE RIGHT NOT TO DUE BUSINESS WITH YOU ANYMORE. My mom and I went to Rumors and were able to get in without an appointment and no wait. I was getting my acrylic nails removed and getting a gel manicure, my mom got a gel pedicure. My service was quick and easy and she did a good job. My mom said the pedicure was a little rough, and she was not exactly comfortable throughout. But overall she said it was okay. The prices are a little higher than I would expect for a smaller salon. I would go back for a simple service, but if you're going to splurge you may consider a different salon. read more

I got my manicure done, and while I was choosing my color they kept pressuring me telling me that shellac would be better color and last longer. I obliged. When I was done with my service the lady at the front desk was asking me how everything was, I gave her my gripe to which she replied "you picked it" and I told her how I usually go with regular polish and she told me "well they're different so", she couldn't give me the decency of even talking to me with her undivided attention--why would you ask if you don't actually want to help find a resolution? I typed in the wrong tip and you bet she was willing to fix that!!! I left and they didn't give me my receipt, had to come back. No breaks, and this is a huge thing, let's see if I can explain it correctly- the dip didn't "lift", after a couple weeks- at other salons my nails either broke or "lifted", where when I ran my hands through my hair the hair gets caught- this doesn't happen when you go to Rumors, even 4 weeks later!! I went on April 22 and got a full set ($45) plus designs ($20) and short almond shape ($5) for a total of $70. 19 DAYS LATER, i needed a refill and was charged $50. I wanted a completely different cute style like the one I had prior and was told 3 different prices ranging from $55-$65 in a span of 5 minutes from the male nail tech. FOR A REFILL! I ended up telling him to just give me a refill and paint my nails white. $50. Unacceptable. Then, waited about 15 minutes at the end because their card machine was down and they wanted me to Zelle the money. Smh. I will NEVER be back. read more
