So kind there, and really enjoyed their chix schwarma plate. Customer service was excellent!!!

They went above and beyond! This is the first time I ordered lunch from Rumi using yelp and accidentally put in the wrong address for delivery. The driver called when he couldn't find my location. It was then that we realized what happened. He delivered to my actual address which was on the opposite side of town. He was very nice and even stated that he got to my new location as quickly as could. This is truly great customer service and the food was delicious! Thank you so much! I will be ordering again. Next time to the correct address! read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. There are wayyyyyy too many great middle eastern restaurants in this city to eat terrible food. Ordered food, arrived an hour after estimated time, forgot my drink. I had lentil soup. It arrived ice cold, and was completely inedible. It seemed as though it was half lentil soup, half water. I tried to salvage it with salt, pepper, chicken broth, but it was so disgusting, I literally tossed it down my sink. It was so thin, it literally went straight down. I ended up cooking for myself. My boyfriend got the shwarma pit, but it was completely bland and cold. Luckily they brought a hot sauce with it that made it edible. DONT DO IT. I would give them 0 stars if I could. read more

I loved the food, the service, the fastness and the price! This place it's really good they also give you a card and if you buy 9 pitas, plate or salad you get the 10th free! The food was really good they make it really fast! And the people that works there are always trying to help you, and giving you good suggestions, I can't wait to go back! read more

This is a wonderful middle eastern joint in wicker park. Not only do we pick up from here and dine in from time to time but even rented out the place for a private party. The food is fresh and delicious and the staff is friendly! Highly recommend! Pro tip, the lamb and beef kefta is to die for. read more

Food wasn't fresh. The Hummus didn't taste anything like it should - was plain and the taste of preservatives was highly noticeable. The salad was tasteless and the portion was tiny. The chicken shawarma was not freshly cut to order but standing and waiting already cut probably since the morning or even the previous day. It was very noticeable in the taste. The rice was ok. Overall terrible experience, I was a shamed to have brought my friend to try "Mediterranean food" in such place. read more

Very fine falafel. Pleasant staff. A good lunch had.

I am willing to admit that perhaps Rumi makes a different style of middle eastern food than I am used to. Having said that ... this was bland, flavorless food that left me wanting ... more. The only mildly tasty item was the falafel, but that's only relative to the rest of the meal. Abjectly, the falafel sucks. The hummus tastes like it came out of a can (not a jar or tub, but a can), which is to say it has a surprisingly smooth and whipped texture, and has the flavor of very old olive oil, and nothing else. Terrible. Chicken shawarma was also relatively tasteless, and had lots of gristle, instead of choice tender pieces. Small portion as well. Ordered through uber eats, so food was cold when it arrived. Not a big deal since everything can be reheated easily. But nothing can help the blandness of the entire meal. Not sure where all the very positive reviews come from, maybe it's about inconsistency, but it seems that this place has been open at least 6 months, so no excuse not to have your operation down at this read more

The falafel was so delicious. Everything so fresh. Chicken schwarma so flavorful. The baklava was just the right amount of sweet heaven. Very clean establishment. read more

I was here last night for a group dinner, and this place is one of the best Middle eastern restaurant in the city! Don't forget to try the Kefta kebob, it's a must try! read more

Good food real good service, love it I'll come back high recommend meat is very tender and seasoned

Amazing food. Never disappointed. Filafel is great and all the toppings have the perfect level of spice.

Food always hits the spot, very kind owners, fair prices, spacious restaurant. I will be a customer for a long time.

good. always fresh and their chicken shawarma is the best. salads are also fresh and delicious.

Amazing staff and amazing food! All the items on the menu are spot on. Restaurant is always clean. Can't stop and won't stop coming here. The perfect spot for a quick meal and great prices. read more

The people who own/work at this place are so sweet and the atmosphere is very friendly! The food is also really reasonable and the portion sizes are great, but the reason for the 3 stars is because the food is just not that flavorful. It's a little bland and plain seasoning wise compared to other Mediterranean places I've tried. It's a new restaurant though so maybe with some time they'll master their dishes since they all seem so passionate about it. read more

This place is great, simple and AMAZING FOOD... on first sight, I didn't think it was going to be enough food. But once I finished I was stuffed, and the flavors, to die for. The food is so good, and it was VEGAN!! My friend got the chicken plate and couldn't stop eating it. It was so good, we sat in almost complete silence, eating. :) I normally hate baklava, but the baklava here is great!! read more

Recently moved back to Chicago and came back to Rumi after nearly three years - still amazing, just like when they first opened. Today I had the chicken shawarma plate and fries and everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. But then...I tried the falafel and wow, I had completely forgot how amazing their falafel is (my husband later reminded me that we always thought they had best falafel in the city hands down). Congrats to the Rumi crew, still doing a fantastic job and keeping everything high quality! read more

Inside vibes are great. We ordered for pickup and they were great on time. Really enjoyed the shawarma salad. Shawarma is well done and the right amount of juicy and grilled. Garlic sauce was ok, the white sauce and hot sauce were much better read more

Incredible food at a great price. The portion sizes are excellent for the price you pay, and there are both vegetarian and meat options. After our meal, one of the employees brought us a free slice of cake and wished us a happy New Years. And this was no cheap/free cake, super tasty, obviously something they have on the menu for a reason. My wife liked the plants. read more

Great food & service! Moe was incredibly nice and friendly. The chicken sharwama pita with all the fixings was to die for. The flavor was simply on point and the chicken was moist and flavorful. I will most definitely come back soon to try something else. read more

Solid Mediterranean food on a street that is jam-packed with options. Very nice place to sit and eat but when I was there it was completely empty. I was a little worried but gave them a try anyway.... and I'm so glad I did! The food was outstanding and cost a lot less than I expected - definitely one of the best 'bang for your buck' options in this neighborhood. I believe a lot of their business is carry out. At least 6 people picked up food while I was there. I will definitely be back at this establishment. read more

Great falafel made fresh to order. Much Better than the other middle eastern grill fast food joints in the neighborhood. Flavorful and perfect texture. Nice staff with good service. Not much ambiance but I don't need anything fancy when I'm snacking on delicious warm balls. read more

The food here is incredible and the staff is very kind. Each meat (chicken shawarma, kofta, gyro) in the all-in platter is cooked to perfection and the balance of flavors on the plate makes it my favorite thing on the menu. read more

Fresh, fast and cheap! The shawarma pita was really good and so are the plates and salads! Owner is so nice and remembers you when you walk in! We come here all the time! They are great for catering too! read more

This place is clean with open kitchen. We had beef shawarma and lamb kabob plate, and a side of falafel. All tasted really good. The falafel is freshly fried and doesn't have the old oil smell and dark color as some other places may have. The portion may be on a average-to-smaller side, but given the price it cannot be complained. They even provided us with a small sip of lentil soup, which was absolutely delicious! One thing this place needs is probably a signature dish, given the fact that restaurants in this neighborhood are competitive and often come and go within a blink. Overall it was a nice experience dining here. read more

Everything I had was very good. Food is made home style. You feel nourished after and not heavy and bogged down. Have gone back for the Falafel, Baba, Hummus, and Lamb kebab. read more

Visiting from Dc! Tried a sample outside the store and was hooked. Can't go wrong with the falafel! I highly recommend. Service was fast and pretty inexpensive! read more

Excellent falafel. Sandwich was delicious--nice tahini sauce and pickles were great. Friendly service, great value. Didnt love the lentil soup, but otherwise very pleased. We will be back! read more

I was here for the first time last night, the atmosphere was superb. I love it when restaurants go the extra mile and put up decorations that represent what they're about instead of the usual basic décor. The food was also incredible - I had a falafel pita and I think I'll never forget that superb flavor it had.The service was okay, a little slow at times so it could have definitely been better but overall it was awesome - I might switch to middle eastern for a while! read more

Great food, fast internet and friendly service! Does it get any better. The hummus is among the bast I have had and the lamb kabob to die for. This is a don't miss eatery in Wicker Park. I will be back. read more

I've eaten a lot of falafel sandwiches in Chicago over the years and Rumi is one of the newest and one of the best. The falafels are fresher and have more spices than most places in the city. The other ingredients are very fresh too. We didn't realize it's pick your own ingredients (like Chipotle) at first so heads up for that. read more

Pita sandwiches were amazing. Very clean environment and great service. I recommend you try!

This is the place to be for some awesome Middle Eastern food. All the meats were cooked to perfection and the seasoning was very flavorful. Very few Middle Eastern Restaurants make good Lamb Shish Kabobs but Rumi Grill's were exceptionally good. So was the falafel and chicken shawerma. And all ingredients are fresh. Definately will be back again. read more

Went with my family of four and loved it! As someone else said, we could eat here every day. Chicken Shawarma and Falafel were both amazing and the service was thoughtful and very polite. Definitely would go again! read more

The food is so fresh and everything is spiced to perfection. In addition to the food being incredible the men who own and run this restaurant are genuinely lovely people. If you are in Wicker Park and looking for a quick healthy delicious bite to eat I would absolutely visit Rumi read more

Very happy with our meal - would go so far as to say the best middle eastern fast food restaurant in the area. Will return soon.

SERIOUSLY amazing! I've been there twice now and am so excited to have a new place to get my falafel fix. Everything is super fresh...they literally mold the chickpeas and throw them into the fryer for each falafel order. Pair that with warm pita, multiple crisp salad options and AMAZING hummus and you have a winner. Service is a little slow, but I would much rather wait a little longer for the freshness and quality! read more

good food but always cold delivery.. not sure if it is their fault or the delivery services that they use..

Let's just say I wish this was any other Mediterranean place that Chicago offers. Bland food, skimpy portions, poorly executed. Got a chicken shwarma salad which consisted of 90% lettuce, 5% meat and 5% toppings. And the meat wasn't even freshly shaved from the spit, it was sitting in a tray and probably had been for the past hour. One of the employees had zero grasp of english and was having trouble understanding orders from other customers. Why would anyone go here when sultan's market or falafel and grill are both a block away? I wish this was a naf naf grill! read more
