Came to Rumfire, which is located in the Sheraton on Kalakaua. Sister and I met my friends and her husband here for cocktails and pupu's. They have a great happy hour with great prices for wine and local beers local cocktails, they also have Asian fusion food, as well as local fresh Hawaiian great flavor. We got the sesame garlic spicy edamame, which were delicious, the baked brie charcuterie. Also delicious, chicken, Kaaragi that was spicy crunchy spicy and delicious. We also got the brussels sprouts which were look deep-fried and seasoned well. which was pretty good as well. Great food excellent service ambience is casual. They had a live band playing pretty loud but good entertainment.
Happy Hour poke nachos were great and a decent value considering the location. Service was not rushed and servers were friendly and engaged with recommendations and conversation.
Located at the Sheraton. I had their sesame edamame & my drink is called an "Old man." Yum! Super awesome restaurant where you can hear the waves crash as your overlooking paradise with views of Diamond head. I may just have to try this spot for my last night in Oahu for dinner.
Aloha, we are staying at the hotel that this restaurant/bar is attached to. Amazing views. Great cocktails. Upon our arrival we were jet lagged and opted to stay within our confines. What we ordered: ** Chicken skewers /dipping sauce ** Fish tacos ** fish fillet with macadamia nuts and fingerling potatoes. The chicken skewers were meh. Not horrible but nothing to note. The fish tacos were served with a pineapple salsa that my husband enjoyed. I indulged in the macadamia nut fillet fish. It was good. Our server was Sarah and she was amazing. The food was typical ocean side hotel style food. I have it a 4 star for the ambience and the fantastic service. The MIA Tias were amazing.
When you stay at the Sheraton Waikiki, you basically have no choice if you want to eat at the hotel. This is it as far as restaurants go and it is small. The views are great and on nice days the patio is a great place to sit and people watch. The food was very good for the most part, and the drinks were fun - especially the nonalcoholic ones for the younger set. Foodwise, our favorite was the fish tacos. Delicious grilled fish and lots of tasty pineapple salsa and wonderful pickled onions on top. The spicy ahi poke bowl was very good and the seasoned French Fries were a definite hit. The only disappointing meal was the chicken teriyaki - that was tough and heavy tasting. The staff were friendly and attentive. One annoying thing - well, two annoying things. One, a hostess who needs to learn that friendliness is not only appropriate but appreciated, and a happy hour where you cannot get any food until a certain time and you can't sit at the tables, only the bar. The frozen margarita was delicious with barely any alcohol from what I could tell - when I can have 2 drinks and not feel a thing, then I consider it a non-alcoholic drink. As a result, I totally enjoyed them.
TL;DR - mai tai flight is DELICIOUS. The 24 oz prime rib is meant to be shared and it is very good. The kampachi is a fish dish I'd get again. Their fried chicken and quesadilla is perfect for kids. This place has amazing views of the ocean and the food is really good too. The initial part of our dining experience was actually fairly miserable. We were initially seated outside but it was so windy that our kids were inconsolable. Apparently their policy prevents them from letting you move to another table once they've seated you, but after a little persistence, our waitress was able to move us inside. We were so grateful because we otherwise had an amazing time at this restaurant. Their Mai Tai flight was VERY enjoyable. We ordered two of them lol. You get 3 drinks. Each one was wonderfully refreshing and I wished we had ordered 3 of them at their regular size instead of a flight. $38 per order. We also got the 24 oz prime rib which was a perfect medium rare. Cooked really well. Tender, juicy, savory, you name it! I'd get it again. This one is specifically meant to be shared. Their fried chicken was really good too. Perfect for picking at and for children. Their kampachi was delicious. It's a type of fish for those who have never had it. They make it so well here. It was flaky, soft, tender, and perfectly seasoned. I'd get this one again too. We also got their quesadilla because the kids tend to be a little particular with their food choices. Let's just say they were not picky at all when it came to this dish! Highly recommend this place!
Rumfire's happy hour in The Sheraton Waikīkī Beach Resort is an awesome spot to watch the sunset. My husband and I visited and ordered off the happy hour menu. We ordered the Kailua Pork Quesadillas, Poke Nachos and Smoked Ahi dip (regular menu). The quesadillas were amazing and rich in flavor. The Poke Nachos were fairly.... Mid? I felt like the poke didn't taste too fresh and the chips were extremely thick. (I've had better elsewhere.) The views are really where it's at! Beautiful seating to see the ocean waves, Diamond head, and even their fun pool!
The service is absolutely amazing and the scenery is chill with live music except when wind is blowing like crazy outside. When I was there the wind was so bad menus were everywhere and even chairs were being tipped over. Food is what could probably have a little more improvement. Felt like the chicken was too sweet and it was little chewy. It's a great place to get appetizers and get a drink during happy hour especially when you're staying at the resort.
My husband and I were fresh off a 10-hour flight and this was our first stop after checking into the hotel. The timing was great because it was aloha hour and the OKC vs. Denver game was on the tv at the bar. We ordered Nui Caliente "Spicy" Margaritas, Huli Huli Chicken Skewers, and Kalua Pork Quesadillas off the aloha hour menu and the Paniolo Cheeseburger off the dinner menu. The margaritas were perfect - finally found a spicy margarita that is actually a little spicy! Highly recommend ordering the skewers and quesadillas as well if you want something light. The dishes were savory and exactly what we were looking for. My husband ordered the Paniolo Cheeseburger. It was pretty straightforward but was made with a wagyu beef patty.
This place is a great spot for happy hour. You can enjoy a refreshing beer while taking in the breathtaking view of Diamond Head, with its sandy beach and clear blue ocean water. We always order the Pipikaula fries and decided to try the chicken skewers. However, I would skip the chicken skewers; they were overpriced and lacked flavor even for happy hour. The fries, on the other hand, are a favorite for sure. The food is alright, but it's quite pricey. Despite the high prices, the service is excellent every single time.
Honestly not that impressed especially with how much we paid at the end. Food was way overpriced, yet average. Nothing blew us away and nothing worth the price. I mean I get you're in Hawaii, but I ate at better places for cheaper. Edamame was soaking in oil. SOAKING. The server seemed annoyed to be there. Maybe she was having a bad day but it showed. Kinda starts to walk away as you're still talking to her. Place itself is very pretty and right by the water so you definitely get the good views.
Tommy was such an amazing server, he gave us a lot of recommendations, was super knowledgeable on all the options, and we loved the food. Had a great outdoor table with a view of the ocean and could still hear the live music inside. Loved it :))
Great pitstop upon arrival to kickoff your vacation! The Pina Colada is high quality. Better yet is the Lava Flow which adds a splash of strawberry to that. Whatever you get, be sure to ask for a Rum floater to go with it. The Spicy Ahi Poke Dynamite was great and not spicy. The Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings were large and tender. The French Fries initially came out cold but we had them remake them and they came out hot. They were nicely coated and came with a variety of nice dips. I love the Mango BBQ Aioli and also the Truffle Aioli. Those go great with the fries and with the wings. Nice poolside ambience with inside and outside seating options. They even have Cabana dining for parties of 5 or larger.

Loved how we were able to be seated right away for a party of 4. Had some of our friends visiting from Japan staying here at Sheraton so we had a few drinks and pupus. Service is SLOW! My goodness, it took 15 minutes for the waitress to come to our table to take our order! I had to flag down 2 different servers to ask who our server was! She was terrible. It's pricey for the type of pupus you get but you're paying for the ambience! Live music, beautiful sunset to watch near the water. We had fries, chicken karaage, and edamame. Portion size is pretty big but you're also paying a lot more. Their menu is pretty lame and small. Wish they had more items. They also don't have many varieties for their drink options. Very basic selections. Also, you could get your parking validated. Would've cost us over $25 for parking but it was free since we ate here. Make reservations if you can if you'd like to get great seats with a view! read more

The location was great if you're staying at the Sheraton Waikiki. We stopped in for happy hour, which is nightly from 4:30pm to 5:30pm & 8:30pm to 9:30pm. We opted for the Nui Caliente "Spicy" Margarita - $ 15.00. The house made chili water was great, very spicy, but I think the puree was what made the drink taste syrupy as other reviews have mentioned. They have a few food options on the happy hour menu as well. The poke nachos were absolutely delicious and a steal at $15. I would highly recommend the food on happy hour, I can't speak for the drinks as I did not love mine. The hosts and servers were all very friendly. We went at around 4:45 and the restaurant was wide open. We asked the hostess who informed us that it does get busy around sunset. She also informed us that the restaurant does not have the best view for sunset so be aware of that. read more

We came here for a drink based on a friends recommendation. They said the drinks and ambiance are great, but skip the food...so we did just that. We were greeted by the friendliest bartender named Bobby. We sat at the bar and view from those seats are fantastic. We didn't have the opportunity to sit outside because it was extremely windy that particular night, but still beautiful from our seats inside. It was early so they weren't too busy yet and Bobby made our drinks promptly and made conversation for a bit. He was so nice! He made me a Pina Colada and it was delicious. I also tried the lava flow, which was a bit too sweet for me. Overall, place was nice and drinks were good. read more

KAYLA was a terrible server. She's judgmental and have a Marriott Bonvoy wristband and a current member. She was incredibly rude and assumed a lot of things about me being Asian. It put me on the spot with all the guests at the resort. I feel incredibly embarrassed and can't believe that she would do that. I asked for her name and her name is Kayla. She's Hispanic medium height and brown hair. She is SO rude to guests. read more
This is the main bar inside of the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort. Great spot to grab a drink in the evening. Drinks are around $18 a pop but I mean it's Hawai'i and this is Waikiki so pretty standard overall. The Chi Chi is one of their popular house drinks I would recommend and the Lava Flow here was great too. Good service at the bar. Total trendy Hawaii vibes and being ocean and pool side at the resort makes it a great place to hang out for a while in the evening and have a relaxing drink. Did not try the food here so cannot comment. Would definitely be back for drinks and maybe appetizers next time I stay at the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort. read more
Boy, it's pricey! Prepare to spend a couple hundreds. Yet alone, Hawaii in general, is expensive. We had a fantastic server! She was fun, delightful and knowledgeable with recommendations! This restaurant is located inside the Sheraton hotel. My party just arrived but our rooms were not ready yet. We decided to grab a bite to eat, and this place was available to us, so we decided to give it a try. Mahi Mahi Sandwich: The sandwich was pretty decent. The fish was delicious and the sourdough bread paired nicely. The lettuce and avocado paired nicely together and the fries were very crispy. I really enjoyed the sriracha mayo for filling the fries with. My only complaint is the price. I already sat down before I realized how much I was going to pay. Practically $30 for my meal after tax. This is good, but definitely more on the pricier side. Not sure I can warrant that, but if you are able to eat here, I say go for it. read more

Disclaimer - we wouldn't have gone here had it not been for dining credit apart of our travel package deal. We had $30/per room/per day. Considering Sheraton only really had 2 food choices - RumFire and Kai Market, this was the best choice by far of the two. We had RumFire twice during our stay. Both were take out orders because we wanted to enjoy the food in our ocean view rooms. Service each time was great and easy. We just called over the phone, and our orders were neatly packaged and ready for pick up within 15-20 minutes. The first meal we ordered from here was from the dinner menu for a party of 4. We used up $130 of credit ordering poke nachos, wagyu burger with Hawaii chips, mahi mahi, and kanpachi. The poke nachos were okay. Not enough poke. The wagyu burger was tasty. It was probably my husband's and father's favorite. There were also some crispy Hawaii chips that came with the burger. The lemon herb mahi mahi was very clean and fresh tasting. I liked the roasted sweet potatoes it came with. The seared kona kampachi was overdone but it came with a nice green coconut curry sauce. We also ordered take out from the lunch menu for two and used up another $60 worth of dining credit. We had the grilled mahi mahi bowl and chicken teriyaki. Both were really tasty. The mahi mahi was grilled well. The chicken teriyaki was a good balance of sweet and savory and it came with kimchi. The brown rice went well with both proteins and was cooked perfectly. I don't think I'd choose to come here if we didn't have dining credit. But since we did, this was the best option, and we had no complaints. read more

Had drinks at Rumfire. "In Royal Fashion" is an interpretation of an Old Fashioned and a poor interpretation. "High-Maka Mai Tai" was simply the best Mai Tai ever. Service: decent Ambiance: Nice bar with a glimpse of Waikiki Beach from one section. Gripe: There were a ton of tables marked "Reserved" with no one at them. Rather crummy to block off all the nice tables even for those who just wanted to sit an enjoy a drink for 30 minutes. read more
This is located inside the Sheraton Waikiki hotel overlooking the Waikiki beach. If you want a spot on the patio, you need to make a reservation. We were given free drink vouchers when we checked into the hotel and we came to redeem our vouchers. 3 stars for the "In Royal Fashion" drink. 5 stars for the "High-Maka Mai Tai." Service: our bartender was very prompt. I did not complete my drink and I asked if I could take it to go, absolutely. She poured into a to go plastic cup and off we went. Drinks: my husband ordered the "In Royal Fashion" and I got the "High-Maka Mai Tai." I took one sip of the "In Royal Fashion" and was too much bitters and I did not like it. My husband took a sip of my "High-Maka Mai Tai" and he said I picked the better drink. He forced himself to drink the old fashion. The "High-Maka Mai Tai" was just the perfect refreshing drink and it was balanced between sweet and it is just lovely too look at. Highly recommend. read more

Rating our experience: 2 Rating Food: 5 Rating Service from last nights Bartender Isaiah: 5 My friends and I love RumFire Waikiki for several reasons. 1. We are all Bonvoy Members 2. We love Sheraton Waikiki it's central location 3. Grandpa Bobby the bartender (Recently Retired) we saw him regularly for years. 4. We have many great memories through the years at RumFire Waikiki 5. I can only speak for me but I love their avocado & cheeseburger with a side of fries. (The pickled onions kick it up a notch) I will admit when the rest of party arrived at the bar we were blocking the walkway and we cleared the way. We were all at the bar. All the seats taken or standing against then we made sure we were up against the bar in the round parts. Apparently they said that wasn't good enough. So those four moved out of the way. The manager was very rude and telling us that the people staying at the hotel are spending more money than us. Since we are local heaven forbid we aren't staying there. I've stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki several times and I live here. She basically didn't care that we had spent several hundred dollars at the bar with pupus and several dinners, some on a couple of checks. But we spent money at RumFire which I'm sure we added to their total sale. The customer service the manager provided was very rude it's a customer service industry which was surprised at the response that hotel customers are paying more than you guys. I think we finally realized that RumFire Waikiki has changed. We used to always pick RumFire where we celebrate birthdays like we were doing last night for two of our friends. If you want to eat a good burger still come out to RumFire. To Celebrate birthdays, go elsewhere. It seems their focus is hotel guests and not local people. Beware if you're local and NOT staying at the Sheraton Waikiki beware lest you be judged for not spending a lot like people staying at the hotel. However, you'll be fine if you're local and have a Sheraton wrist bands. read more

Around 6:30pm the place was packed with an hour wait time. If you want a scenic beachside table to watch the sunset - make that reservation. Their live music & dim lights set a classy lounge mood. Got lucky! Bar is open seating and scored some chairs just as a group was leaving. Seared Ahi Tataki - pour over the ponzu, top off a slice with onions, and bite into the perfect blend of onion crunch and soft ahi melting in your mouth. The RumFire Signature Mai Tai was just like Scott, our bartender, said, STRONG- but not overwhelming for those with a more sugary drink preference palate. Great food, great service and a great view of the ocean and sunset. And Tommy, our server, was truly amazing LOCATION & DECOR: Like a nice bar and upscale club had a baby. Father decor inside with red fire accents. FOOD & DRINK: Japanese fried chicken has an appetizer, and the seared mahi-mahi with group sweet potatoes and asparagus. So good! Especially the fried chicken. Do not sleep, I repeat. Do not sleep on the lemonade! It's phenomenal. And don't think to yourself, yeah yeah, it's just lemonade. Lemonade is the most refreshing non-water drink in existence when done as perfectly as this place has done it. Lol. PRICE: $$ On the expensive side compared to local eats, but one time shouldn't hurt. Especially for that lemonade!! SWAG/AMENITIES: Indoor and outdoor seating, indoor bar, television, both seating, table service, private booths on the patio. STAFF & EXPERIENCE: Tommy was our server and he took care of us. Told us what he recommended and why. Taught us about the dishes and some island history as well. Have us tips on how to add in what order to season and sauce our food for maximum enjoyment and he was absolutely right because I changed the order or neglected steps and experienced a lackluster bite after another. Lesson learned. Lol. Our sweet potatoes came out cold at first, but Tommy was not having that. He got us a new dish and compensation for the hassle. Night time at rum fire. Live music. Pretty darn good. Rootin tootin. Kidding. But year the music is good. Drinks. Bit expensive but good. Best lava flow I've had in Waikiki so far. And Bobby at the bar. He is awesome. Great service from him at the bar. Sorry back to live music. Every night. And tonight was Danielle Parentis and she was on fire. What a great performance. Loved our dinner here! We hosted our family and friends here the night before our wedding. Everyone agreed it was the best meal of the whole trip! The setting was beautiful on the lower Diamond Head patio, just beside the pool with views of the beach and ocean below, palm trees above nicely lit for the evening, and fire torches adding to the atmosphere. We chose our meal selections ahead of time from the special group dining menu. Joanna made the planning really easy and was very accommodating for a private group party. We ordered: smoked ahi dip, local panzanella salad, ginger and scallion fried rice, pan seared mahi mahi, and phulehu ranger new york striploin. For dessert, both the chocolate gateau and mango pudding. I can hardly pick a favorite dish because every bite was delicious. Would do it all again exactly the same way! Highly recommend. read more
We didn't have a reservation but we're sat promptly. We went on a Tuesday about 8:30pm so it was a late dinner. We were sat inside. I preferred outdoors for the view but it was super windy that night so inside worked out. I had the Rum Fire signature Mai Tai which I enjoyed. He had the Fire runner which was on the sweeter side like a Kerns. After we received our drinks, we placed our order. I kid you not, the food came out like in less than 5 minutes. We were like, "that was fast!". The food was good. I feel the fish tacos could have used more fish in them for the price, hence the pictures. He felt the fish was ok and the vegetables needed some seasoning. With that said, I think the views we took in after, bumped up my star rating. The up lighting, the landscape, and the full moon definitely added to the feels. read more

Worse overpriced fish tacos! Maybe should have tried something else, but if the quality of tacos are like that then can imagine the other food. The flight was more like drinking juices. read more
The ambience was great and the server was friendly. Service time was on the slower side and not a huge menu selection variety. The mixed drinks we ordered were awful. The Pina colada wasn't even drinkable and the Daily Ritual cocktail had way too much sour mix in it that I couldn't even finish. The steak was well cooked but it didn't come with any sides and you had to pay extra for it. read more

The last surviving Mai Tais. Rum Fire used to have an amazing selection of Mai Tais a few year back and the worst one was better than any other Mai Tai on island. Not so anymore. Only two options left on the menu now. One is a signature Mai Tai in the classic Trader Vics style and the other has a ginger thing going for it. Both are really good (and I've tried Mai Tais all over Oahu). It's just so sad to see the full selection disappear. Even if you ask, these are the only Mai Tais they make. The view is still fantastic and if you're looking for a great place for pupus and a drink, this is still an awesome spot. Just can't recommend as the best place for Mai Tais any more. read more

RumFire Waikiki is local in the Sheraton hotel and on the edge of the beach. As you can see from my pics, and others', it has great views. We ate outside and thoroughly enjoyed the setting. Currently, they open at 4:15 pm and close at 11:00 pm. They don't take reservations, so may want to plan your visit strategically. I should note that our 2 usual requests for meal preparation weren't taken into consideration - they were ignored. We started with pre-dinner drinks (they were good) and enjoyed the views and ocean breeze. We shared their Island Fish Tacos, and their Panilol Cheeseburger. As you can see in my Taco pic, they were nicely presented using soft shells. The fish, was good but a limited amount. The greens were fresh, the pickled red onion was a nice accent, but there wasn't much of, little flavor, from the avocado crema. Our Panilol Cheeseburger consists of a wagyu burger and was on the large size (see pic). The burger, itself, was under flavored, considering it was wagyu beef. The greens were fresh and crisp. The bun, while toasted, was somewhat plain. We certainly enjoyed the view and the environment. read more

Came here for dinner and immediately got asked rudely by the hostess if I had a cover for my outfit. Mind you I was dressed up nice in a maxi skirt with a crop tank top and heels. I said no, and that its not a bikini top (clearly), and she just rudely goes uh okay and seated us at a back table where we didn't not get any service for at least 15 minutes. We ordered a burger, asked for it to be medium and it came out more on the raw side. We couldn't finish our food and not to mention the restrooms there are so disgustingly dirty like it hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. Puddles all on the floor and just a mess. Drinks and food are overpriced. Not to mention they seem to only cater to caucasian people there mainly. All around uncomfortable experience. read more

Great service, nice view and the food was good. Ordered the fresh fish of the day which was mahi mahi served with Japanese sweet potatoes and asparagus. Fish was well prepared and flavorful, veggies tender and the buerre blanc on top made the dish. Place was a little pricey and options limited but would return for HH read more
One of my favorite places to come for drinks! My friends and I came here after we all arrived from the airport. We got seating outside with the view of the ocean and it was about the golden hour of the sunset. So that added to the ambience with the live music in the background. Our server was helpful in getting our drink orders and checking in to see if we needed another. She was very attentive. I most definitely will come back the next time I visit. read more

Are they still serving Happy Hour?
Just went today. Server said HH discontinued about 1-1.5 years ago.
Is the dancing mostly all young people? If a couple came in their late 40s to dance would it be weird?
We were there a few months ago. We are in our early 50s. The crowd was on the younger side. We did not feel uncomfortable at all.
Is this free entrance with valid non Hawaiian?
The entrance fee to the night club is $10 for everyone.
Is Rumfire open? Since the strikes have been going on I know a few bars have closed.

I'm pretty sure there is not. However, during regular business hour, probably until 9 or 10 it's more of a restaurant and lounge vibe and they only card if you order a drink, not for entrance. Hope that helps.
What kind of music do they play?
It really depends on the night. One night we walked by it was a clubby DJ with a cover charge. One night was a band. One night (my favorite) was Jeremy Cheng singing relaxing oldies and playing acoustic guitar!
