We love Sheraton Waikiki it's central location 3. Grandpa Bobby the bartender (Recently Retired) we saw him regularly for years. 4. We have many great memories through the years at RumFire Waikiki 5. I can only speak for me but I love their avocado & cheeseburger with a side of fries. (The pickled onions kick it up a notch) I will admit when the rest of party arrived at the bar we were blocking the walkway and we cleared the way. We were all at the bar. All the seats taken or standing against then we made sure we were up against the bar in the round parts. Apparently they said that wasn't good enough. So those four moved out of the way. The manager was very rude and telling us that the people staying at the hotel are spending more money than us. Since we are local heaven forbid we aren't staying there. I've stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki several times and I live here. She basically didn't care that we had spent several hundred dollars at the bar with pupus and several dinners, some on a couple of checks. But we spent money at RumFire which I'm sure we added to their total sale. The customer service the manager provided was very rude it's a customer service industry which was surprised at the response that hotel customers are paying more than you guys. I think we finally realized that RumFire Waikiki has changed. We used to always pick RumFire where we celebrate birthdays like we were doing last night for two of our friends. If you want to eat a good burger still come out to RumFire. To Celebrate birthdays, go elsewhere. It seems their focus is hotel guests and not local people. Beware if you're local and NOT staying at the Sheraton Waikiki beware lest you be judged for not spending a lot like people staying at the hotel. Had drinks at Rumfire. "In Royal Fashion" is an interpretation of an Old Fashioned and a poor interpretation. "High-Maka Mai Tai" was simply the best Mai Tai ever. Service: decent Ambiance: Nice bar with a glimpse of Waikiki Beach from one section. Gripe: There were a ton of tables marked "Reserved" with no one at them. This is located inside the Sheraton Waikiki hotel overlooking the Waikiki beach. If you want a spot on the patio, you need to make a reservation. We were given free drink vouchers when we checked into the hotel and we came to redeem our vouchers. 3 stars for the "In Royal Fashion" drink. 5 stars for the "High-Maka Mai Tai." Service: our bartender was very prompt. I did not complete my drink and I asked if I could take it to go, absolutely. She poured into a to go plastic cup and off we went. Drinks: my husband ordered the "In Royal Fashion" and I got the "High-Maka Mai Tai." I took one sip of the "In Royal Fashion" and was too much bitters and I did not like it. My husband took a sip of my "High-Maka Mai Tai" and he said I picked the better drink. He forced himself to drink the old fashion. Wow. For a first experience coming to RumFire, it was actually really good! When I went with my family, we were just looking for a place to eat dinner for the night and were staying at the Sheraton. All we did was go downstairs and we found RumFire. When you walk inside, you will see a bar with a lot of choices of liquor and a variety of alcohol, in front of an amazing oceanside view. The view was phenomenal from where my family and I were eating. It was really nice and made this night amazing! The food was also just as amazing, especially the white truffle fries with truffle aioli and sriracha ketchup. It was a perfect blend of something iconic (ketchup & fries) and that kick of spice in the sriracha ketchup. Our server, Sarah, was really friendly and was always checking on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal. I think she even deserves to be promoted! It was easy to get a reservation, and I highly recommend coming to Rumfire during Aloha Hour, to get special food, like kalua pork quesadillas and loaded poke nachos. If you ever need a fast meal that isn't fast food, I highly recommend you come to RumFire for a great evening meal! Will come back when in Oahu again for vacation. Loved our dinner here! We hosted our family and friends here the night before our wedding. Everyone agreed it was the best meal of the whole trip! The setting was beautiful on the lower Diamond Head patio, just beside the pool with views of the beach and ocean below, palm trees above nicely lit for the evening, and fire torches adding to the atmosphere. We chose our meal selections ahead of time from the special group dining menu. Joanna made the planning really easy and was very accommodating for a private group party. We ordered: smoked ahi dip, local panzanella salad, ginger and scallion fried rice, pan seared mahi mahi, and phulehu ranger new york striploin. He felt the fish was ok and the vegetables needed some seasoning. With that said, I think the views we took in after, bumped up my star rating. Just got back from vacation, and this spot was definitely one of the highlights. The last surviving Mai Tais. Rum Fire used to have an amazing selection of Mai Tais a few year back and the worst one was better than any other Mai Tai on island. Not so anymore. Only two options left on the menu now. One is a signature Mai Tai in the classic Trader Vics style and the other has a ginger thing going for it. Both are really good (and I've tried Mai Tais all over Oahu). It's just so sad to see the full selection disappear. Even if you ask, these are the only Mai Tais they make. RumFire Waikiki is local in the Sheraton hotel and on the edge of the beach. As you can see from my pics, and others', it has great views. We ate outside and thoroughly enjoyed the setting. Currently, they open at 4:15 pm and close at 11:00 pm. They don't take reservations, so may want to plan your visit strategically. I should note that our 2 usual requests for meal preparation weren't taken into consideration - they were ignored. We started with pre-dinner drinks (they were good) and enjoyed the views and ocean breeze. We shared their Island Fish Tacos, and their Panilol Cheeseburger. As you can see in my Taco pic, they were nicely presented using soft shells. The fish, was good but a limited amount. The greens were fresh, the pickled red onion was a nice accent, but there wasn't much of, little flavor, from the avocado crema. Our Panilol Cheeseburger consists of a wagyu burger and was on the large size (see pic). The burger, itself, was under flavored, considering it was wagyu beef. The greens were fresh and crisp. The bun, while toasted, was somewhat plain. We certainly enjoyed the view and the environment. read more

You know what's a turn off? Grouchy hostesses with the most attitude. We go to Rum Fire when we have out of town guests to show them a good time. My mom them always did the same as my mom used to work there back in the day! Get to the front and tell them we are going to check for open bar seats but there seems to be a lot of tables...We ask "are we allowed to sit there." And the younger Filipino/Asian woman decides to answer our question with a bunch of sass while using her hands. Then my fiancé wanted to show our friend the other side where the other bar is and the older Asian lady yells "can't get anything there the bar is closed!" No, duh. Our table is ready so we check in and the 3rd hostess just says "okay yeah just follow her." They lead us to a table that had been empty for 30+ minutes and remove the reserve sign. Hilarious. This Japanese couple who barely speaks English tried asking how to get a table and the older Asian hostess said go to the front. They asked "where?" She said "I said the front." And then she left...instead of happily leading them where to go. They went to the bar staff and thank god they're more locals with the aloha spirit because they happily assisted. It's a shame that this place went downhill. The old timers made it special and were extra friendly. If you don't like your job, quit. But management needs to retrain hostesses as they are the first to greet paying customers. read more

Am a tourist myself and was simply looking for a quick drink at the bar, but apparently I "had" to grab a table for service according to the male host although the bartender didn't mind to serve us a few drinks. We were "escorted" to the outtermost random table and practically ignored with no service after. Basically didn't receive any service until I had walked up to explain to the bartender that we had been seated at the table. Overall very judgmental workers with poor poor service. It was a windy day so we opted to sit inside, but the restaurant is open air so we had a nice breeze and a gorgeous view of the ocean and diamond head. Our second time staying at the Sheraton in Waikiki and we finally went to Rumfire last night as theyre pretty pricey. We ordered the dynamite chicken karaage and the crispy chicken tenders.. Absolutely terrible. The chicken tenders looked like they came out of a supermarket freezer and warmed up. I have pictures, I wish I could post them. The chicken karaage is just more clumped up store bought frozen/reheated chicken with sauce dripped over them. Around $30 for each dish. We will never go back here. read more

We were staying at the Sheraton Waikiki so this was the only restaurant/bar opened at the hotel during our stay. It was very convenient since they had breakfast, early happy hour and drinks. The breakfast menu was pretty limited but it was good and did the their job to fuel us up to start our day. One perks as Bonvoy member it was free since their lounge was closed and this was the alternative. Had the chicken wings a few times for happy hour during our stay since they were so damn good. Located with a view of the beach whether you are sitting inside or outside. They have live music nightly although I wished it ended later but Covid restrictions the city pretty much shuts down by 10pm. read more

This is a nice and hip bar inside the Waikiki Sheraton. Drinks are pretty standard, nothing really wowed our party, but we really enjoyed the atmosphere. The main dining area is wide open, and there are plenty of outdoor seatings. The ocean front view is breathtaking and they have nightly live music. If you're in the area and are looking for a good place to grab drinks and appetizers with your friends and family , I would recommend Rumfire. There are probably more happening bars in the Waikiki strip, but the views from this place , combined with the convenience of it being inside our hotel made it a good option.
