Rumba never fails to disappoint me !! I sat right near the window and I was able to see the water outside. My server was great and attentive. She gave us recommendations on things we should try. I had the sweet heat margarita it was delicious probably one of the best margaritas I have had in a very long time. Everytime I come here I always order the same meal because it is AMAZING. I ordered the Grenada chicken. The chicken has the perfect amount of jerk seasoning on it. The chicken is spicy but the creamy coconut risotto balances it out perfectly. There is a sweet chili glaze that goes over top that gives the dish a nice kick. It is also served with a tomato confit which is my favorite. Definitely recommend this dish it is packed full of flavor and is so nicely balanced. My aunt got the salmon and she said it was delicious and had no complaints! Overall 5 star experience!! If we lived closer, this would be our local favorite...it is just the perfect, happy place with excellent food and drinks all around. We have only been there off season, so I can imagine arriving in the summer and having a different experience. The service is doting, the setting is as if you were on a far away island, the Caribbean inspired menu is unique and the drinks just shine. We are eager to return for their Rum Punch Brunch. What an amazing experience! The food was delicious. We ordered their shrimp curry with risotto, chicken curry with risotto, duck empanadas, wings, and coconut shrimp with mojitos - everything was outstanding. The service was impeccable. For dessert I ordered their chocolate bread pudding which was alright, but the food and appetizers were too good. We sat outside so had an awesome view. We will definitely return! I enjoyed Rumba very much. We were fortunate enough to eat outside on a beautiful day. The setting is lovely right on the water. Let's start with the drinks. They were awesome. I had the Passion Fruit Piña Colada it was easily one of the best piña coladas I've ever had. My husband had the Hot& Stormy which is like a Dark & Stormy (Rum & Ginger Beer) wifh jalapeños. He said it was delicious. So they definitely do drinks last well here! We were here for brunch but you can order off the regular menu too, which is nice to have options. We started off with an appetizer of chips and pimento cheese and guac. Delicious. You might think, how could chips and pimento cheese and guac be so delicious? Well The chips were perfect... crisp and perfectly salted, not at all greasy. The pimento cheese was well balanced with a little bit of heat. My only complaint is that I wanted more.We also had the artichoke with remoulade app which was delicious too. The artichokes were steamed drizzled with a bit of oil and a pinch of sea salt. The star was the remoulade. Again, I wanted more both artichoke and remoulade. I then had two different tacos. The first one was the breakfast taco which had eggs and cheese and a nice sauce and a corn tortilla. The second one was not as good. It had some barbecue meat and eggs and an avocado Crema for some crispy topping. It was a bit dry and needed some flavor. This was really the only disappointing food item I had here at Rumbas. Lastly...the desert. We had the Giant Hot fudge Sundae. It was fantastic. Ice cream quality was excellent and the hot fudge was outstanding. Even the nuts were special! Again, just wish there were more. Love the Island vibe of Rumba and we will definitely back. I highly recommend for drinks and snacks. Next time I may try something other than the tacos. And probably the best part of our dining experience was our waitress Tory. She was phenomenal. Friendly, funny, extremely helpful and so attentive. What a superstar. read more

Drinks were ok, we had the mai Tai and the rum punch. The food was also just ok - we had the dips (guac was very bland), Brussel sprouts, chicken and rice dish, tuna sandwich, and the ribeye. The rice in the chicken dish was very strange in both texture and flavor, very stodgy. The desserts were both good and if we were to return (we probably won't) we'd likely just stick to that. The service was fine. It was VERY loud and we were seated right next to the glass door which was VERY cold. My husband and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Rumba for their food, drinks, and atmosphere but most of all because that was where we had our first date in July 2021!!! Yesterday was my birthday, so I made a reservation for us at 7:30pm. The hostess was very welcoming and the manager sat us immediately. We were excited that we got a table by the window, the same one we sat at for our anniversary last year. Everything was delicious: duck empanadas, ahi tuna salad, piña coladas on the rocks, and the mahi mahi with plantains. We both had to order the same entree because we knew it was so good we wouldn't want to share! We love to celebrate our special occasions there. We come here every summer but I've seen an overall decline in quality and service. The food is mediocre at best. The tacos are extremely overpriced unless you come on their Taco Thursday. Happy hour is a good deal, but the bartenders must be instructed to water down drinks during these times. I had the worst margarita of my life here this past week. It was all sour mix and no tequila so basically undrinkable. The indoor area is mostly dark and cramped. The outside area is cute but it overlooks the parking lot and then you get a view of the water. We had previously eaten at their sister restaurant Cow Fish which we loved so decided to try Rumba, which had more of a Caribbean lean. We ordered takeout, so can't comment on the in restaurant experience, though it looked super vibey which is no surprise. We tried a lot of items -- from the seared tuna to the shrimp tacos to the chicken tacos to the salmon entree to the burger -- everything was really good across the board. And given how well all the food held up via takeout, I can only imagine how much better it would've been had we eaten there. These folks clearly put a lot of focus on fresh ingredients and consistent execution and it shines through. Big fan of this restaurant group and can't wait to try their new spots in west Hampton! read more

5 stars for the desserts.  The hot fudge sundae and key lime pie were absolutely delicious. Expensive but very filling and big enough to share.  The view at the high top seating was great and the waitress was very nice. The entrees and apps though... terrible.   From the non-fresh tasting guac and chips to the $16 organic house salad, which had wilted greens, no candied pecans as stated and hardly any tomatoes or dressing.  The good thing was the salmon, which did not taste at all of the citrus soy it was named, but it was good fresh and perfectly cooked salmon.  This was ordered as part of the salad, making the salad $29.  The expensive entrees were overcooked-- the chicken and the sides.  The coconut risotto was way too liquid-y.   The grilled tomatoes on the side tasted of jalapeno/vinegar and so spicy they were inedible.    The fish tacos - awful breading/batter, oil that tasted and smelled bad.    Should have sent back but the tacos were only $7. Had no choice but to valet park and I the guys working that tight lot are impressive with their parking skills! Overpacked on a Monday in June.. Been wanting to try Rumba for quite a while but that 2+ hour drive from Brooklyn has been a deterrent. Last weekend, I finally booked a hotel and planned a date night in the Hamptons for my girlfriend and I. I made reservations for Saturday 5pm because the weather was supposed to be sunny and in the 70s, and I wanted to enjoy the beautiful view on the pier, but it ended up storming! Bummer! We still had a great time nonetheless. We arrived and was seated immediately. Even with the bad weather outside, it was pretty packed inside. We were seated where we still had a view of the dock/water even though we couldn't be outside. They had really good music playing and the vibe was just really nice. Our server was Calleen. She was good and attentive and gave some good suggestions. Drinks: I started with the prickly pear margarita and she the mango. Both were very good and had a nice kick. Next I had the rum punch and she the passion fruit pina colada. The Rum punch was weak and tasted like juice, I added an extra shot of rum but the passion fruit pina colada was SOOO good and was really strong (she ordered a second). We finished off with banana rum shots, which were pretty smooth. Food: for starters we had a fish and shrimp tacos, Caribbean wings, and the double dip with guacamole and pimento cheese. Everything was really good! I liked the sriracha coconut sauce on the wings, very different. The guac was good but the pimento cheese was even better! It tasted like crab dip even tho there was no crab! Both tacos were really good as well. Everything was so well seasoned and flavorful. For entrees I had the Dominican wings with roasted sweet potatoes and she had the NOLA shrimp which was 1 of their specials of the day. The ribs were cooked soo good, they slid right off the bone and even the bone was completely tender; like you could completely chew the entire bone (not that I did lol just bit into it). I didn't try the sweet potatoes because I actually don't eat it (not sure why I didn't ask for a substitute lol or I could've just ordered the ribs from the appetizer menu by itself ). The Nola shrimp was served over coconut risotto with cherrie tomatoes. It was sooooo good, I was digging all in her plate. It had a little bit of a spicy kick to it but nothing over powering. I'd suggest they add that to their regular entrees. My girlfriend enjoyed the side of plantains solo since I don't eat it, she said they were good. We had such a great time! Besides the rum punch, everything was a hit! Food, drinks, music, vibes, view, and service! The price was really good too! All together after taxes we were still under $200. Everything was worth it. Definitely looks like a little shack in the winter from the outside, but it has a great, relaxing atmosphere for friends to hang out on the inside. Their popular rum cocktail is super yummy and they don't hold back on the liquor, and the coconut Mojito didn't disappoint either, although i wish it came in the bigger size like the rum drink. The food was solid as well. We especially liked the wings, and the duck empanadas. The chips for the duo dips aren't really great, but the guacamole and the cheesey dips are great. Took an impromptu trip to escape the city and ended up in south Hamptons. After a long day with the puppy and excursion to the beautiful white sands of cooper beach we built up an appetite. Found Rumba and read the excellent reviews and boy this spot did not disappoint! Reservations were very easy for lunch and we ended up getting drinks as well. The sangria was amazing sweet and strong with fresh fruit on top served in large mason jar! I went with the shrimp/fish tacos and my girlfriend tried the tuna burger both of which were fresh, topped with chipotle mayo type sauce, ended with desert as well with the house special key lime pie (which perfect blend of sweet, tangy, and crunchy moist crust). I found this place on Uber eats and it look great! I love duck and I asked for extra horseradish on the side for the duck empanadas in which they provided. I also asked for extra dressing for the Caesar salad in which they provided. To me those are pluses but which is bigger than that is the taste. The taste for both were exceptional. The duck empanadas we're out of this world because I have never had a flaky crust on the outside and tender meat in the inside. Too bad this place is not in Orlando! Worth a visit. Stopped for drinks and apps...the coconut shrimp is really amazing but you only get 3 shrimp for $17. They're good...but that's a little much. The wings are just awesome. Perfectly cooked, amazing sauce, plenty to share with the table. I WOULD NOT come back here if they sat me inside again. The food is good...but it's tough to sit inside with such beautiful views. We were told it was a 40 min wait and counted over 10 empty tables outside. Next time, I'll just wait for an outdoor seat. There is an outdoor spot by the water with chairs...if I couldn't get an outdoor table I'd recommend getting a to-go drink and just hanging out by the water.
