I highly recommend ordering their Daiquiri RSL which basically consists of the ingredients that are mentioned in their name. It will get your lips smacking! While their price point is a little high, to me their drinks are made with such care, quality and divinity that it is worth it to pay a bit more. Plus, they charge slightly under what their craft cocktail competitors do in the area. I love their decor and ambience. I was super super excited to check out this place! We came on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't very crowded which was nice because this place is packed on the weekends. Here's the impression I got on my first visit: Gorgeous atmosphere, the lighting is simply stunning and this remodeled space has a glow that attracts people right off the street. The bartenders were nice, not overly friendly, but not mean... just nice. The drinks, which I was most looking forward to, were pretty lack luster. Out of the three that I tried, I think I liked one of them, and this is coming from a non-picky drinker. I discovered RSL while in town on business. I am from LA where craft cocktail bars reign supreme and only the trendiest scenes stay alive. I felt right at home. Upon entering, my eyes glistened with the beautifully lit bar. It was the focal point of my visit. The space is filled with eye appeasing clean lines. The unfinished ceilings, old brick walls mixed with modern finishings give off an intimate, Art Deco, industrial ambiance. The menu options are true to the concept. The menu itself is uncluttered (attached). Some might say this is limited. I disagree. RSL is fully confident in their identity and it is cohesive throughout the entire concept. I appreciate the dedication of the establishments that hone their craft and push the limits into creating a convivial/ memorable experience. My business associates and I tried their entire menu and my favorite was the Saturn. I am a gin drinker and this definitely made my top 3 gin cocktails of all time. The cocktail itself had a slight citron taste with a balanced sweetness from the passion fruit. The tropical combination was carried on by the subtle nuttiness of the orgeat (which was perfect because I despise cocktails that fall flat). This was a serious cocktail. Tiki Bar doesn't seem to be the right classification for this place because it's so much more modern and way less tacky than your average Tiki Bar. We got a Daiquiri RSL and a dealers choice gin which ended in a French 75. This place is definitely a rum bar (it's in the name) and both of our drinks were wonderful. The whole experience gave me a swanky, modern, SoCal, "Girl from Ipanema" vibe and the drinks really deliver on that too. There was a turntable DJ playing music reminiscent of the entire theme of the place which definitely helped achieve the entire feel of the place. We went "early" (about 8:30pm) and it was nice though after an hour or so it started getting really packed and was difficult to hear my companion sitting next to me. Pretty soon (within the last hour) the bartender gets slammed with like 30 people and he's still absolutely killing it. Absolutely 5star service and I'm beyond impressed. When I visited reno for the weekend, I honestly didn't expect to find any hip, trendy bars so was pleasantly surprised when I found this place and a handful of others in the neighborhood. I will start by saying I love, love the space. From the garage door, exposed brick, succulents, bar counter, flamingo wallpaper and wicker mirrors in the bathroom... can you tell, I really liked the whole design? The reason I'm knocking this a couple stars is that the drink was just ok and the service was not good, especially compared to other craft cocktail spots within this same neighborhood. It was late on a Sunday afternoon and honestly there were maybe 2 other people in the whole bar, we sat at the bar top and the bartender put down a couple menus and water, but then walked back and forth several times as he prepped things and didn't even acknowledge us after that until maybe a good 10 minutes late when we finally asked him if it would be ok if we ordered a couple drinks. One of the drinks we ordered was definitely better than the other. Maybe we just had an off experience, I really wanted to like this place more given that I loved tiki themed/inspired drinks and the space was gorgeous.. but the bad service is what sticks with me. read more

They have a huge selection of liquors so don't let the menu dictate your order. After finding this place the first time, now every trip I take to Reno I always find myself here. The bartenders are AMAZING. They are all very knowledgeable about flavors and drinks, and provide awesome service. I love to sit outside on the patio or at the bar. I've tasted a pretty good selection of their drinks and not one has let me down.
