I'm sharing my experience at this boarding facility so others can make an informed decision.
When I first arrived, the barn owner presented himself as friendly and welcoming. However, over time I experienced a significant shift in communication and management style that became increasingly concerning and stressful.
One issue involved stall safety. My horse injured her eye after bumping into a protruding ring on a hanging bucket while eating. I addressed this immediately by removing the bucket, as I considered the design unsafe and not appropriate for a horse stall. Instead of constructive discussion, I felt my concern was dismissed and I was unfairly singled out.
Communication overall became inconsistent and at times abrupt. Without clear warning or reasonable explanation, I was told that I and my horse needed to leave the property within a short timeframe. The reasoning given centered on the owner wanting increased privacy. The interaction felt sudden, dismissive, and unprofessional.
Throughout my time there, I also observed what I felt were unnecessarily confrontational interactions with boarders and visitors, particularly around rule enforcement and barn changes during ongoing construction. This created a tense environment and made it difficult to feel comfortable or stable as a client.
There were also changes to feeding routines and barn operations that were not clearly communicated. At times, basic expectations for horse care routines felt inconsistent or arbitrarily enforced, which made it difficult to maintain normal care for my horse.
While the facility itself is large and has potential, my overall experience reflected a pattern of poor communication, inconsistency, and a management style that felt reactive rather than professional or collaborative.
Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage prospective boarders to ask very specific questions about barn policies, communication expectations, and stability of boarding arrangements before committing. read more
