But she says they will honor the Groupon through the end of the year. Ok, fine with us. August - Called and left a message to book a session on September. After no response in one week, I called and left a message AND an email to follow up. Finally got an email three days later saying she just got back from a horseshow competition. She says ok, we can schedule your session in September. I email her back immediately because I want to schedule lesson #2 because she is difficult to get a hold of. September - I email to confirm our lesson #1 date. She replies and says, "I'm sorry, we don't have you scheduled on that date. I thought it was last week. But hey, there's an opening tomorrow for your 2nd lesson". I want to cry. End of September - We email Bethe saying we give up and call Groupon to get a refund. Outcomes: a. I now question Groupon's quality of vendors. b. My friend and I really let our group of friends down with all the back and forth of scheduling rides. Made us look incompetent. c. I really wanted to go horseback riding but now am afraid to go near this place and meet with Bethe in person for fear of more disappointment.

The large jumping arena, the small covered dressage court and the full sized mirrored dressage court and lunging arena are groomed and watered every day, sometimes twice a day. They have an aggressive fly prevention system and haul off all manure. There are hardly any flies and you don't leave the barn covered in dust, which is rare on the west coast. When I was at Sunny Hill, most barns on their road had between 7-10 cases of pigeon fever, Sunny Hill had none. Jennifer the owner, goes above and beyond in horse care. They will even feed your horse out of a slow feeding hay bag so he can eat at a more natural rate throughout the day. I have a grey horse and he tends to find his poop and pee piles to sleep in, but the barn here is so meticulously cleaned that my horse is always white! Austin and Raul and the other barn hands make sure the stalls are immaculate. The tack room is nicer than most of my house. The bathroom is always clean and there's a fridge and changing area in the tack room as well. The feed rooms are set up in a way that each horse has its own bin and the staff is amazing at ensuring the grain is given as ordered. There are 2 turnout areas, a smaller one up by the barn and the larger ones down below. The indoor is LARGE with GGT footing and beautiful mirrors. The outdoor is large as well with excellent footing. BOTH ARENAS are dragged daily!!!!!! It's like fresh tracks every day! There are carts in the tack room so you can wheel your stuff to the cross ties on either end of the barn and the wash racks are set up really elegantly. The staff that runs the tour rides at the winery barn are also so sweet and polite! And they are always smiling! If your horse is not afraid of bunnies, like mine, you can ride the vineyard trails as well. Honestly, I think my horse feels like he's back in Europe! So glad to have this beautiful well maintained barn in Napa. And the board price is SUPER reasonable and there is NO nickel and diming for additional services like turnout, blanketing, etc. I can't speak to the previous negative reviews but if I could move into one of the stalls myself, I would.
