We have done training before, but this is a specific issue we needed to address, so we looked around and found Wendy's website, and read the Yelp review. She was responsive to my calls and we set up a training date. During the call to set up the training, she made clear she uses positive reward training, which is what we wanted. We don't believe in yelling at the dog or shocking her and freaking her out. We had the training at my sister in laws, because that's where the problem happens, and also so my SIL could get in on how to fix the problem. Wendy was gentle, funny, pleasant, and most of all, knew her stuff. She put together a plan that we can follow, and sent a written report to my email, with all the steps, so we can remember what we are supposed to do. She spent almost 2 hours with us, longer than we expected. She's also a lot of fun and that makes the experience much more enjoyable for the dog and humans. I recommend Wendy if your dog has a problem behavior that needs some work. Some of it is training the human, and Wendy's good natured approach goes a long way in accomplishing that, and some of it is training the dog, and she knows how to give the tools to do that. Wendy is a great dog trainer.

Wendy had a lot of helpful info in socializing my shy chi, as well as helping her learn basic commands. I actually looked froward to going to class because I could tell the great progress Bean and I were making. Pepe is next in line for training!

So very grateful for Angela and Nikolett at Naughty to Nice Dog Training. When we introduced our…read morelabradoodle, Marlo, to his first class, he was sweet and eager to learn. He soon evolved into a ball of energy with increased enthusiasm and decreased focus. Angela welcomed him with such patience, kindness, and skill. She helped us understand how to channel all that puppy energy in the right direction and ease our concerns when we felt frustrated -- and we felt frustrated A LOT. With guidance and consistency, Marlo not only earned his STAR Puppy Certificate but also his Canine Good Citizen certification--something we honestly doubted would ever happen. What we appreciated most about Naughty to Nice was how supported we felt as new puppy parents. They celebrated every milestone with us and gave us the confidence to continue building on Marlo's learnings. Marlo indeed went from naughty to nice all thanks to this incredible team.

He overall is very eager to learn and was doing well with his early obedience training but definitely runs the house. Within ONE HOUR, Toshi was able to tolerate the harness, and for the FIRST TIME since he came home, he let me brush him for a minute straight without biting me!!! We got so many great tips and a list of homework to work on until our second private session later this week before we start our AKC STAR Puppy classes (already secured the date!) I cannot thank them enough for their tips, their kind words and efforts towards Toshi and I am confident to believe he will be a great dog with the right tools.

We love our veterinarian, and she highly recommended Dodger's Paws. Here is what I'm already loving, 2 weeks into the puppy program. . . Great communication and easy to sign up . Convenient hours for working dog parents . Clean Facility, safe set up . My kids are welcome to attend and participate, and we're ALL learning. . Martha is a wonderful teacher/coach/support. She is patient, she explains the how and the why regarding our puppy's behavior. In addition to learning basic commands, and going over safety guidelines, we are provided with a plethora of tips about happy and healthy dogs. Martha has 4 dogs of her own. She's empathetic, down to earth, very honest, and makes the class fun with her upbeat personality and stellar sense of humor. I love when the hour is coming to a close, and we have the opportunity to ask questions. It's been a great experience, and we are enjoying our sessions at Dodger's Paws very much.

My dog Hobi took a class here in September 2020. That was during Covid, so there were no real…read moreoptions at that time. It was quite a drive for a puppy. They didn't really have any suggestions to help with that. Also, the classes are outside in a warehouse with an open garage door, so it was freezing. I had to dress my dog in a sweater, and I could barely stand to be on the cement floor for the duration. But here's the thing: my dog is a Maltese. Like all Maltese, he is barky, a bit whiney, and a very picky eater. Small dogs are often not food motivated. They had no idea how to deal with that. They would continually ask us to leave because we were a disruption. We literally got kicked out of every class! It was a dog training class, and he wasn't well behaved enough for it? I mean, they knew he was a Maltese when we signed up and paid the hefty price. If what you train is Labs then fine, say so and don't take my money. This is probably a great place to go if you have a lab or a big, food motivated dog, but if you have a small dog then don't waste your time and money. Look elsewhere.
