Went to I to Eye today because unfortunately I am getting older and I have been noticing some…read morevision changes recently. A few weeks ago I went to my primary care physician and explained to him some of the things i was experiencing and he recommended i go to an ophthalmologist. Dont have the time to get into the difference between an optometrist and ophthalmologist, but a Google search will explain that for you. The ophthalmologist I saw diagnosed me with intermittent extropia...which had me concerned but I was told "dont worry about it for now" and was given a new prescription that i could take to get frames/lenses. I wont mentioned the opthalmologist's name (he is a highly rated Dr with a good reputation from what i know, I hold nothing against him, I just was looking for something more out of the visit personally)...Which brings me back to today...I went to see Dr Madeline Fernandez who was able to give me a follow up exam and consultation and talk to me further about the intermittent extropia diagnosis. I have been going to I to Eye since I was about 15 or so, from when the shop was at its prior location just down Broad St (the current office is in the old Lucky Jeans location if you are from the area and remember). I am in my early 40s now...so the office being in Town so long tells you that this business has the support and trust of the community...Primary reason i went to another doctor was based on the recommendation i got from my primary but going to Dr Fernandez to talk to her...i walked away feeling relieved, educated, and confident that my corrective lenses are going to address my problems. She took the time to explain prism lenses to me and progressives which I will be using going forward. The office and optical boutique has plenty of brands and styles to choose from. Arnell and another gentleman (I dont remember his name) helped me pick out my new frames. Arnell was sitting behind a desk and told the other associate "Why dont you show him the Tom Ford glasses with the clip"...Arnell has a great sense of style and knows what I like based off the frames I have now and historically have purchased...he even commented "these frames are very engineer like" which made me chuckle because it was cool that even though I havent been to the office in a few yrs, he still remembers my profession. I absolutely love my new frames and i am excited to get them. Dr Fernandez and Arnell are not only professional but great, kind people/human beings. They just have a calming/relaxed temperament. If you are originally from the area/Westfield you know how often businesses open and close in a short period of time...I am happy that I to Eye has stood the test of time and that I have place I can trust. Having great doctors (such as Dr Fernandez), a great mechanic, a great tailor, and a great go-to local restaurant...just give you a feeling that cant be taken for granted. This review for I to Eye is well overdue. If you need an eye exam or just want to get some stylish frames this is the place to visit!

A poor first impression and front desk who treat you based off their mood of the day don't deserve jobs! Hopefully the doctors catch on to the staff they do have and make changes. I want to preface this by saying I had written a review on google about this location when I had…read morefirst visited, and that was because the staff that were helping me were genuinely really nice, courteous, respectful, and understanding of my situation. I spent about 30 to 45 minutes in the store and most of that time was just standing by and waiting to speak to someone while I picked out glasses, and more waiting while they looked at my insurance. I did not see an optometrist at this location, and that was mostly due to the reviews I've seen here and on google, and I take my eye care very seriously. I came in already having my prescription from another optometrist at vision works, and then I came here to select frames. TO BE CLEAR, this review does not factor in the optometrist at this location, only the customer service I changed my glasses once every year or every year and a half, and I've all the places I've been to, the staff here have give me the most pleasant and honest experience I've ever had when selecting my frames, going over my options, and providing an unbiased review. LensCrafters and vision Works have constantly tried to upsell me on designer lenses and frames, memberships, different payment, plans, and gift cards, and all manner of needless crap. Here: I was given a tray, told to browse their selection (which granted is a little limited considering the space) while they assisted other customers, I picked out four pairs, tell them exactly what it is. I do for a living and what it is I needed (2 pairs, one for indoor use with a blue light filter, one for outdoor use with transitions for driving), I gave them my prescription insurance, they scan with them look at the frame that I had selected commented on the fashion and style, I made a decision, look in a payment plan and I left. Was told I would receive a text when my new frames are ready within a week. I went on Saturday and it's now Thursday as I write this No upselling, No crazy recommendations for any of the premium Ray Bans or weird sports gear, I got what I needed in a very friendly and costumer first manner. -the selection they have is limited -waiting was a little , but not a bother you can run errands while you wait or consider more options. -very friendly customer service -Very quick delivery If you're on a budget and need a new pair of flames in a timely respectful manner, go here. I only gave a four star because I cannot comment on the doctor(s) appointed here. The reviews mentioned such are a little old and I recommend you do your own research and only go to who you trust for your prescription and lens recommendations

The eye doctor (female, middle eastern, was wearing a hijab) was not friendly in the least! She was…read morerude to my child and extremely impatient with him. (My child was being very polite, just a little nervous which annoyed her) She seems like a very unhappy person and I'm not sure why she works there. I tried easing the tension and speaking nicely with her but she completely ignored me which was very awkward for me and my family. Also, I found out after receiving paperwork from my insurance that they assumed we wanted "premium lenses,"and all kinds of other extra things for my child's lenses that are completely unnecessary which ended up costing me out of pocket an insane amount. I should've questioned it, and have learned from this experience. Do not recommend this place at all.
