This is our first (and last) time leaving our dog here unfortunately. I boarded my dog in a deluxe suite at Ruff Resort for one night. When I dropped him off, I specifically declined the late-night treat because I know my dog does not like peanut butter. However, when I picked him up the next day around 2:00 PM, I was surprised to find charges on my bill for both a "late" pickup and the late-night treat that I had declined. The most concerning issue, however, was my dog's condition when he came home. He was covered in fleas. Prior to his stay, he did not have a flea problem, and he had even been to the vet the day before boarding with no issues noted. Finding him infested immediately after boarding was extremely upsetting. Not only was this uncomfortable for my dog, but it also created a problem in my home that now requires treatment and additional expense. In addition, my dog is normally very high energy, but when he came home he slept the entire first day, which was highly unusual for him and added to my concern about his overall condition after his stay. Between the unexpected charges and the flea issue, this was a very disappointing experience. I would encourage pet owners to carefully review their invoices and thoroughly inspect their pets after pickup. read more

Looking for a new place for my fur baby to attend for occasional daycare, and decided to try this place out! The young woman who checked us in was very kind and energetic so I think that may have hyped my dog up for some fun. My dog is in no way shape or form introverted, but he doesn't always like people immediately either, so I took his excitement as a good sign. I got one picture after he was fully introduced and he looked like the happy boy I know and love. I have generally had pleasant experiences at this facility, and my dog has always gotten along well with the other dogs. - Until recently, I had no complaints. However, I encountered a concerning issue that I believe warrants attention. On one occasion, the air-conditioning system at the facility failed. As a result, the dogs were kept outside for the entire day. While staff did try to keep them cool by spraying them down with water, no one notified me--or, as far as I know, any other pet owners--about the situation. I understand that mechanical issues can happen and are sometimes beyond your control, but communication is critical. Had I been informed, I would've come to pick up my dog without hesitation. When I arrived that day, my dog was completely soaked--dripping wet all the way to the car. I didn't initially think much of it since my dog enjoys water, and I assumed he would dry off. Unfortunately, the water used had a foul odor. The smell was so strong that I had to have my car professionally cleaned, including all blankets and dog pads. I spoke with the owner at the time, and I assumed the issue would be addressed. However, on a subsequent visit, I noticed they had applied some sort of fragrance--either perfume or cologne--to my dog. I found that odd but didn't say anything. On our final visit, though, my dog had a strong ammonia or urine-like odor. It was overwhelming and deeply concerning. When I brought this up again with the owner, she seemed dismissive. I was given an explanation about the turf and the pool, but it didn't make sense to me. If equipment is not being properly cleaned, that's a serious health concern. Her demeanor gave me the impression that she wasn't really listening or concerned. My dog's safety and well-being are my top priority. I don't have children--these are my fur kids, and I take their care very seriously, sometimes even more than my own. A dog returning home smelling like ammonia is simply unacceptable. For that reason, I've decided to take my dog elsewhere. I sincerely hope you're able to address these issues and improve communication and sanitation practices moving forward. read more

I initially called to schedule a grooming session for my 2 dogs but was put on hold and then got hung up on. I called back and same person answered, by her tone of voice, you could tell she was obviously having a bad day. Attitude was not called for. I asked her if I could speak with someone else and she told me they were very busy right now and placed me on hold......... I'm still on hold, even as I type my review. My intentions were to give them a try since I'm new to the area. Ruff Resort is THE best daycare and boarding facility in Fort Worth. My dog is truly cared for every day and the staff knows him by name as well as his needs. The facility is so clean every time and my dog literally jumps in my lap in the car every time we pull into the parking lot because of how much he loves the place! Our labradoodle Moon absolutely loves Ruff Resort and their staff. He is a very energetic, water loving dog. Ruff takes him outside to play with water, lots of other dogs, and he cannot get enough. We have boarded him here several times. We are convinced he thinks he's on his own vacation while staying here. We love that they have reasonably priced daycare for weekday fun and optional baths. Had wonderful experiences when we first started boarding our dog here. Now, whenever we board him we get no updates on how he is doing. Our dog has developed pretty bad anxiety, and so when he is in groups of dogs he can get anxious and bark at dogs to get them away from him. The only information I received when this first started happening was that "he is trying to start fights". I cannot give my business to a company who thinks that anxious dogs are poorly behaved or "bad" dogs. They also will not confirm booking requests until one or two days before the scheduled drop off date, so we were put in quite a bind recently when we were told 2 days before our vacation that they did not have room for our dog. I'm sure this place is great for dogs who enjoy group playtime, but it has only caused anxiety and grief for us. read more

I have been following this business for 6 months only because I am leery of letting just anyone watch my babies. After all you hear all the horror stories. Hagrid my biggest baby needed a new daycare and after searching and vetting numerous business I decided to go ahead and let them watch my biggest baby boy. I needed to find a place that would let him realize he is not 11 pounds like his older smaller siblings. I let Maddie know he gets nervous very easily and needs time to get to know other dogs. And of course the way to his heart is food. He was there all day and I received constant updates with pictures/video. Maddie assured and clamed my nerves by letting me know she would slowly introduce him to all the daycare friends. I felt at ease and this helicopter dog Mama could rest knowing he was having fun and making fur friends his size. We also got invited to the grand opening and we got to give our big baby a bath.
