Unfortunately our first experience here was extremely poor. We dropped off our cocker spaniel for a "cocker cut" and acknowledged (and paid extra) a de-matting fee because of a few matts on her belly. We picked her up and she was completely shaved. There was no communication that the cut would go from a cocker cut to having no fur at all. Skirt, legs, ears, and back shaved for a few matts on her belly. Groomer was unable to provide any explanation for why. $80 to shave our dog is unacceptable. Will not be returning. read more

Nothing was properly explained to us, and the little information that was provided--such as "use the gentle wash with the shampoo"--was vague and confusing. I'd like to say that I was even able to be seen but the cancellation on their end took place three times to have my two dogs groomed. The first time I booked, I called on a Tuesday and was able to get an appointment for both my dogs that Thursday. I was notified on Wednesday that only one dog had the appointment and that regardless, there was no time for the groomer to even see one of my dogs. I trusted, as a new person in town, that it was a one time fluke. I was wrong. Therefore during the conversation in which I was told there was no appointment for that Thursday, I made an appointment for 10 days later, a Saturday so that both dogs could be seen. I was called the Wednesday prior that there were no available appointments for my dogs to be seen and needed to be scheduled a third time. With nearly a three and a half week lead time, saying that I was disappointed but willing to give them another chance, I booked for tomorrow, Saturday, November 11, 2023. This morning (Friday, November 10th), I got notification via text that one of my dogs had an appointment. So I called to confirm both still had an appointment and perhaps it was a glitch. NO. I was told that there were notes of a second dog and that again there were no groomers scheduled. So no groomers scheduled.....on a Saturday? Three times in a row? New in town and now my dogs have waited over a month for reasons that completely fall on the company to fix and nothing has been done. The only thing I was offered was to reschedule a fourth time. Why would a person do that? I had no faith after the second cancellation but I had trust. Now there is no faith and no trust. Do not even waste your time. Apparently running a business is not priority for the ownership, leadership, or employees. read more

Have been a customer here since 2018. They used to treat my two dogs VERY well, but the past 6 months, the quality has been lacking to an extreme degree. A few months ago, we gave specific instruction for preference and they did not perform. I literally did not recognize my dog. My dog also had severe scabbing all over his hair after the haircut. We were about to quit going but our dogs needed a bath bad, so we brought them back. This time was the last straw. My dog has 3 inches of scabbing across his neck and they charged us extra because he was "being bad". I would be bad too if you gave me open wounds. His stomach is also very patching and was cut all the way to the skin. Will not be coming back. read more

I waited a week for this appointment and I had an alternative option the day before at another facility and I cancelled that to make this one. We went to the wrong location and when we called they had already taken in another dog and cancelled our appointment. No one called us, they just conveniently cancelled it without notice. They had no regard for the customer who waited for this appointment, they're just too busy to have system that prioritizes customer care. Now my poor dog who needs a groom for functional purposes has to wait for the next available appointment elsewhere and I don't know when that will be. Unacceptable business. read more

My precious Golden Retriever (at the time) puppy visited Happy K9 twice, then we never went back.. After the first visit, she fell asleep in my car within 30'seconds of picking her up. She's usually a happy, energetic puppy, so I assumed she was just exhausted after being there for a few hours (turns out I think she was more than just sleep deprived, she was relieved to be home). The second time, an employee called me within an hour asking me to come pick up my dog bc she had a "panic attack" in the crate waiting to be groomed -cut her nose pretty badly on the metal crate walls and was bleeding.. couldn't be groomed due to her anxiety. It's now over a year later, & ever since the day I picked her up, my dog panics if I touch her collar. She flinches and whimpers... it's been consistent ever since that day. I've never left her alone with anyone else except this groomer location, so there is no other explanation for the slides of this reaction. Someone at Happy K9 handled my puppy in a very aggressive way that she has yet to forget. It aches my heart knowing she was treated this way. I strongly DO NOT recommend this facility. I've never left a negative review on Google in my life, but seeing my dog have this reaction consistently again and again, over a year later, led me to this place. Be cautious. read more

Won't return. Our bill for grooming 2 golden retrievers came to $337. When asked why so much, given that they advertised $88 each and we opted for the $14 de-shed per dog, we were told it was because of a "scissors fee" of $28 per dog. We requested no special treatment so that made no sense. It was absolutely impossible to get in touch with Kendall, apparently the only person who could provide any insight into our bill, and when I finally did, she said she would look into it and call me back. Still waiting, 5 days later. STEER CLEAR. They are so much more expensive than Glamour Paws and they don't even do a particularly great job. read more

My recent appointment left me disappointed and honestly disgusted at the lack of process that new ownership and management have. I am new to the Fort Worth area and was looking for a place to give my little guy, Rocco, a bath to hold him over in between his usual grooming sessions. This place came up over and over in my searches and decided to try it out! The staff there is friendly and so willing to show you all the amenities and self-grooming tools they have for you to use which includes toothbrushes, doggy tooth paste, hypo-allergenic shampoo, ear cleaner, etc. - which I think is amazing! The prices vary depending on the size of your dog.. since Rocco is small and under 20 pounds, it's $12 which is such a great deal for all they have to offer. I love the tubs and the dryers they have as well as the different doggy scents you can spray on your fur baby when you're all done! I brought my dog in for an appointment at 1015am. I called at 4 pm asking if my dog was ready to be picked up. They told me she would be done around 445pm. I arrived at 515pm and there was no response on why it took them 7 hours to groom my dog. The service was terrible having my dog sit in a kennel for 7 hours. when I got home my dog ran to her water bowl and wouldn't stop drinking water for a bit, then I got a call at 547pm, right before Happy K9 closed, saying that my dog was ready to be picked up. On the drive to Happy K9 Camp Bowie for our appointment, I received a phone call asking if I could change my appointment to the afternoon or another day since they were overbooked. They booked 5 dogs in one-time slot. I am still perplexed about how they overbooked and why they did not catch it before I was almost at their doorstep. I was told if I dropped him off now he would be there all day instead of the usual 4 hours. Updating my review to add, I've never had an issue with my dogs haircut, but I have 2 issues now that I've used them several times. For 1, they are impossible to get a hold of. I will call several times for several days and get no answer, leave a voicemail and get no answer. They have a website where you can make appointments. The website mentions that they will email and confirm or reject your appointment within 24 maybe 48 hours. I've made an appointment online twice since I can't get anyone to answer the phone. I get no confirmation or rejection email 72+ hours after making the online reservation, just to get a hold of them the day of for them to tell me they have no record of my online request. The 2nd issue, they don't let the dogs out to go to the bathroom while they keep them. Every time I pick up my dog she's desperate to get outside and go to the restroom. The last time I picked her up, she couldn't hold it and peed on the floor of happy K9 as soon as her feet touched the ground. They do a great job with grooming but between not letting her out to go potty and having to jump through hoops to try to get an appointment made/ someone to answer the phone, I'm going to look for other groomers in the area. read more

I was soooo happy when Happy K9 opened up on Camp Bowie. Previously, I had been taking my pup over to the Clifford location. That was still worth it though, as everyone who works here is just so great. I have a schnauzer/poodle who needs to be groomed quite often. I had taken her to a chain and she looked like she had been hacked with dull scissors. It was pretty bad. Happy K9 fixed her right up and we haven't gone anywhere else since. I really love how open this location is at the self serve baths, with the little island in the middle with all the things you might need.
