The guys showed up on time and ready to work. They loaded my entire home, garage and all, in five hours. The truck was packed front to back and top to bottom. When we got where we were going, not a thing was damaged as they packed it perfectly. Its too bad we moved further than they travel, because I would have used them again. I moved from Perris area to Canyon hill/Lake Elsinore with a full size truck load. Overall it was an 8 hour day between carefully loading and unloading. They took their time to cover all of the furniture which takes up a bit of the time. If you are looking for cheap and careless these aren't your guys. If I could put zero star i would. It blows my mind that you can have an employee work there that is so shady. And when we call you about the problem you act like you've never heard of the guy. We used this company to move half a house to storage and we have a pool table for sell. One of the shady employees wanted to take pictures of it in case he wanted to buy.Not really sure. But when I check Facebook selling page to see that same employee is posting that he is selling OUR pool table for himself when he has no possessions of it is down right wrong. So when someone wants to buy it how would he get that pool table? Break in? Never ever would I recommend this company. And let's not going into detail about how they said they needed more money then quoted. Scammed probably. Should definitely do a background check to see who you really hire. read more

In the past I have had some bad experiences with movers; but not so with Ruff and Ready Moving! When we moved Orange County to Fallbrook, not only was the price right, but the customer service and movers were amazing. One of the movers called in sick and the owner, John, personally called me to let me know what was happening and that there was going to be a delay as they had to find another mover. When the movers got there, they were fast and efficient! They moved my entire 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, with a garage full of stuff (we also had my daughter and son-in-laws studio apartment in our garage) to Fallbrook in a total of 8 hours - that's loading, drivetime and unloading! They even made a side trip to pick up a treadmill I purchased from a friend. I would HIGHLY recommend Ruff & Ready and I only wish they could move me to Florida as that is our next move! read more

Recently we used Ruff 'N Ready for our move and we were very happy we chose them! From the start, Samantha was very personable and helpful over the phone when answering questions, giving advice and setting up the moving date. And when we suddenly had to reschedule because our buyers fell out of escrow, they were very understanding and accommodating. The day we were ready to finally move, the guys were right on time and ready to go! Our team included Ed, Ricky, Chase and Kenneth and they were just that... a TEAM. They worked well together and each guy really pulled his own. They were careful, organized and didn't waste time. I have used them 4 times and had 3 good experiences and one very bad, the last one, a few days ago.. They quoted one amount, made verbal agreements and backed out of them all and when the price was more than double, they did not honor the agreements and even threatened to call the police if I didn't pay them the full amount. They over charged and the worst part was they didn't even pack all the items. We had to spend the full weekend using our own truck to finish up. They did not pack us or unpack us only delivered the furnishings from point A to B for an outrageous amount of $$$$$$. I never had issue with the fees until this move. I could have used a local mover but had assurances from the owners father (who is their rep and who I contacted for the move) that I would not be charged for driving time from their facility as my move was only 12 miles from one home to the other. In the end they charged me for 3 hours travel time at $145 an hour and also almost $400 for gas. Just Do not use them, they say one thing and don't honor their sales rep quotes. What I don't understand is that we used them to move us from where the last move took place and this time it took twice as long, cost twice as much and we had 1/2 a truck less than before, yet they had no explanation for it, just said it was legal and they could charge for it all. Legal or not, they should be called Rip Off and Greedy Moving. Do not use them! When I said I would dispute it, they knew that once I paid for it with my credit card and the service was performed I had no grounds to dispute the charges according the the credit card company. So they simply get away with ripping people off, all the way to the bank. I have no issues with the crew, they are professional, very hard working and do all the can. They had never broken anything before, but this time broke 2 glass doors. It is the office that is where the fall short, threatening their customers and acting like thugs. When I asked about replacing the doors they said send photos, well it is shattered in zillion pieces, and they threw the pieces away for safety, I can't send a photo. So now that is in limbo too. It is always twisted to their behalf and you are just left dangling. read more

I recently hired Ruff and Ready Moving to move my daughter and her family to Albany, Oregon from Murrieta, California. They were on time and were very efficient. They protected the walls and carpet and had her 2,400 square foot house packed in one day. Since my daughter had to start her new job on Monday, they were able to work with us and have everything delivered to her new house on a Sunday. In Oregon, the Ruff and Ready team arrived early and had everything unloaded by noon. The boxes were put in the appropriate rooms, the refrigerator and washer and dryer were in their place and even the beds were put together! Ruff and Ready movers. Business is all about integrity, unfortunately you don't find out till the rubber meets the road what a company will stand behind. Or in this case not stand behind. Around the 3rd week of May Rough and Ready showed up to offload 3 26' Uhaul trucks. During the offload I was present and helped here and there, my very large Jennair BBQ came off I helped it down the ramp, as well I loaded it in The originating location at that point it was not damaged. Days after move was completed. I found a heavily damaged BBQ grill out back. It had obviously been dropped. After seeing the photos of the damage Ruff and Ready's comment was it looks like a little dent. It's no little dent , the wheels no longer work and they've been jammed up up a good two inches. Causing major damage to the body of the grill. Ruff and Ready advertising is licensed and bonded , however unless you have video of it being damaged they except no responsibility. Great Business practice. I would highly recommend using another company or higher someone to video every aspect of the move as they will deny any wrong doing read more

Great group of professional guys!! Well quoted and estimated. They went from our single story to a very large 2 story with most everything going upstairs. They scratched NOTHING in our recently renovated home!!! We were so very happy! They struggled with our refrigerator due to door opening size, and they broke one button off, which they have responded to promptly and they will be making the minor repair needed. John, and William and all the guys were fantastic and professional at all times. Would highly recommend them over any non-insured, non-licensed, fly by night movers anytime. I must have gotten the replacement crew because they are moving me as we speak and it's been over 12 hours, some of my things have gotten scratched. And they are not even close to done. By far the worst move I have ever experienced and that's taking into consideration that I'm retired military (22 yrs) and have move a lot in my time. I'm not happy at all and the owner John is on his way to talk to me about the 12+ hour move and the damage to my things and keep in mind I haven't checked all of my things yet. And by the way this is a brand new home and the put a good size gash in the wall I'm not sure how because it's a big area of the house.... I messed up by using Yelp to hire this company big mistake!!!!! And also if I may add I just went to my old house to leave all of the keys, and they left pictures on the walls and my patio tables in the back yard their was still pots in the kitchen cabinets and keep in mind I paid them to come by a day before the move to pack my things. Which took them less the 4 hours by I had to pay the 4 hour minimum and the still forget things in plain sight. So my wife, son and me had to finish the job I paid them good money to do. These guys are a nightmare and I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. And the had the nerve to email me and said that they gave me a discount so I should adjust my yelp review. All I can say to anyone moving steer clear and good luck on your move. John you know exactly what needed to be moved because I informed you of the two pods and the things in the garage and the square footage of the home so if you didn't pass that information to your crew that's a lack of leadership on your part. Your guys even damaged my refrigerator and left 3 television in the garage that obviously belong in the home. Let's not make things up you say that your crew saw my firearm all the saw was my uniforms and gear which included a empty holster I didn't trust them enough to move for me. And they asked me what I did for a living.If any of them saw my off duty firearm tell them to describe it to me now your just a lair and a bad business man. If any of your crew was so uncomfortable they could have informed me or called the local police as a matter of fact the one who asked me about my holster was the last person from the crew that talked to me but yet he was terrified. It was a bad experience and that's why you apologize to me about it. And you only showed up because of my complaints of the damage. BTW. This review is a continuation from my spouse review below. We hired this company and we are still reeling from the nightmare of it! Ruff and Ready damaged a lot of our household goods. They scratched, dented the majority of our furniture and even ruined the stainless steel fridge AND my large dining room glass table. The glass edges are scratched which can only mean they ROLLED it into the garage where they stock piled the last 2 hours of household items they moved. The move started at 9:30 am and went to almost MIDNIGHT! WHY????? because the movers underestimated what was required for the move. We hired them to pack the home the day prior and to gain a good assessment of household to move. One of the movers repeatedly stated "in 20 years as a mover he had never see such a clean house and we were not hoarders in the least bit.." So please tell me why the move took almost 13 hours!!!!!!!!! And why was there so much damage to our furniture! Our compensation was a $100 discount! The effects of this move costs a lot more than that!!! PLEASE SEE REPLY from OWNER below. It's a shame that the response to my complaint about unsatisfactory services resulted in retaliation from owner of Ruff & Ready!! That says plenty about lack of ownership for bad service. The comments made by owner are false and reflects poor judgment. Ruff and Ready was contracted to move contents of one home and to unload the contents of a 2nd home stored in PODs. The movers did NOT touch the PODs until almost 11 PM!!!! It took them 30 mins to unload one since I had already unloaded one POD on my own since it was obvious they were taking too long with the first load. The furniture that was damaged was from the move and we made NO claims on the POD items. John - before replying to a complaint please be clear on the facts and don't make up false stories. Your response shows you exercised poor leadership and judgment. ***We paid you for the 13 hours in full and we did not ask for discount. The discount of $100 was offered by you, so please do not paint us as incapable of paying. We could have easily argued the full bill given the poor service received. We just wanted you guys gone! Ok so first I would like to say the initial phone call with Jessica was excellent, she gave me a quote with no run around and was non pressure. After I was shopping around I then did realized that other companies either did not answer the phone, did not sound as helpful, or just took too long. I went with ruff and ready even if I was quoted a higher price because I was confident in getting a better service. I made an appointment for the very next day in the morning. The 3 movers came in on time and prompt. It was Jeremy, davian, and Josh. They all greeted me with a smile and introduced themselves. Let me tell you, they were extremely professional, polite, and courteous. They worked hard and fast, didn't damage a thing. They provided the best moving service I have ever had and made me feel a sense of relief with no stress while moving. PLEASE BEWARE!!! LOOK FOR ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY FIRST!! please take the time to review previous horrible ratings for this company before you even think about using them, you will note that the complaints are practically the same and I wish I would of read them before I hired them, because my move also was a nightmare and still is trying to resolve this amicably with the owner and his "right hand man" AUSTIN(very rude, condescending and unprofessional). I'm only writing this review because after 2 weeks of trying to resolve it in a nice way I havn't gotten any where it just keeps getting worse. First of all, the estimator came in and went thru everything, gave us a ruff estimate and said he would contact us w/ a "accurate final quote". At the time he assured us they were very professional and assured us about our concerns on our sleep # bed, that they have moved a lot of them, they have "A SYSTEM" and have never broken one, I again told him they have to be moved in a special way according to sleep # or they could be damaged, he said no worries we can use our system or sleep #s whichever u would prefer....they did not and they broke it. What actually makes it worse is they knew they broke it, one of the movers kept telling the lead mover " I tried to tell you how to do it but you wanted to do it your way". My wife told them to wait before they left to test the bed to make sure it was working and they ignored her when she stated 3x its not working and as she trailed behind them going down the stairs trying to get them to correct it she noticed that they put the wrong backs on the sofa set and she immediately told them that was incorrect 3x, they just kept going pretending not to hear her. They broke a sofa lamp withing the first 5 mins of the move and then they tried to blame us for it...they dropped it and it shattered. How is that our fault? then they broke another lamp taking it off the truck, guy told my wife he threw the piece in the garbage since he couldn't get it to go back together and "hope she didn't mind, if so he could get it out of the garbage. Then they broke a solid wood and granite dining room table, and again tried to say it was our fault(this table was 1 of our other concerns aside from sleep # bed due to its giant size and extreme weight from the granite, that our estimator said "no worries, we can handle it"). When we originally bought this table it took 3 large men to bring it in and yes it took all 3 moving guys to move it for this move. Then they damaged our entire solid inlaid wood bedroom set and when I mean entire this includes the headboard, the footboard the sides and frames, both nightstands, highboy chest and full dresser, again even tho the scratches and chipped wood was freshly done, they blamed it on us and said it was already damaged. It doesn't stop there they also damaged all 3 of our solid wood/glass coffee tables. Pretty much if it wasn't in a box, they damaged every piece of big end furniture. They took a few pictures, told us to just take a few pictures and "get the ball rolling" and send them in so that they could get an claims adjuster to come out an assess the full damage and go from there to compensate us. So after numerous calls and them not returned and a few days later finally getting thru to someone and told again to take pictures and send "some in". to get claim going. we waited and waited, heard nothing, kept calling and every time we called it was the run around, the person you need to speak with isn't here etc etc. It was obvious they were screening their calls and when we could talk to someone we got a different story each and every time. 1st it was we were UNKNOWINGLY insured for weight(truck was never weighed nor any of its contents and by law we are entitled to be there for a weigh in and they do not have scales on their trucks(yes I took pictures of trucks w no scales). But we were told they go by a standard "guestimate" of weight. We asked them for their insurance carrier name to contact directly and their bond company, they wldn't provide it and craftily shifted off that topic. We were told they turned it into their insurance and since it was "by weight" the insurance company was only going to reimburse us 165 for all this damage. Then when I finally talked to the owner, turns out it was never turned into their insurance company, because they have a 1000. deductible and they were sending someone out to assess the damage. Guy came AND was shocked at the damage, ADMITTED THIS WAS A VERY BAD MOVE JOB, was very cordial and actually took pictures AND IN THE END SHOCKINGLY SAID "THIS IS SO BAD I WLDN'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU DIDNT FIND ADDIT'L DAMAGE". They damaged our freshly painted new walls, dented the ceiling, chipped the stair railings and that was just the new house. I was overcharged and not refunded, and overcharged above estimate that thy claim never go over and its still not resolved. They are absolutely horrible and "THE CUSTOMER DOESNT COME 1ST" read more

We used Ruff and Ready moving to relocate from CA to WA. During the process, though the workers were polite, I found the way the whole move was handled to be disorganized and ultimately caused us loss of items. We were told the big truck broke down, not a problem, they loaded our things onto three other trucks (3 trucks showed up to unload), but somehow during the transfer/loading several things went missing. When they arrived several items were also broken. While our things were unloaded I felt there was little concern to protect them (example: my expensive mattress had no covers/blankets as the others did, and workers stepped on it with dirty shoes as it lay on the bottom of the truck). The priority seemed to be getting done so they could go home vs. making sure our stuff made it off in one piece. Since moving, we have had a few boxes of missing items sent to us UPS, but we are still missing several things. To replace the missing/damaged items it cost a few thousand dollars, and for compensation we received from ruff and ready a few hundred dollars. Very unhappy with the whole process. read more
