Moved 3 miles from storage to my new home and the crew gouged and scratched my driveway with the truck. Crew said they scratched it but the truck hid the damage so I could not see it thoroughly until after they left. Front desk talks over you and doesn't listen well. They verbally guarantee times then later confirm them as a range. Total bait and switch. The crew that showed up was very polished and spoke nicely, but also acted quite unprofessional with our property. The majority of our boxes were labeled with a room and the crew were told which room was which, but we found boxes all mixed up in different rooms. They left them wherever they wanted to. They also complained and talked down on our prior movers due to poor packing and disagreeing with how they packed our storage unit. I found this tacky and unprofessional. While I agreed with their findings and was fine with this at the time, I later realized this was a rapport building tactic to ensure good reviews while the quality of their labor degraded. Very shady. The only redeeming quality of the movers was that they did retape some boxes that had fallen apart without complaint. Back to the driveway. We contacted Ruff and Ready about a week after getting to inspect it as we were busy unpacking and settling in. We were unable to get through via the phone as it just kept dumping the call on us. I called about twenty times. I messaged through Facebook, no one responded. I sent an email, no one responded. To this day, three weeks later, no one has responded to either of those messages. When we finally got someone on the phone, they sent us to their claims guy, who first said they would send someone out to inspect it, then never contacted us back for a week. On follow up a week or so later, we were told the claims person went on vacation and no one else could assist us. We then were then told no one was ever scheduled to come estimate the damage, then asked to send photos and fill out a claims form. We did that even though we're confused as to why no one asked us to do that on initial report and why the story changed. When he returned from vacation another week later, he did not call us back as the front desk promised. We called back again a few days later and asked for an update. About 3 weeks after the event, he now tells us that Ruff and Ready is claiming no liability for the damage that their inexperienced and unprofessional crew caused through their own admission to me and that he is waiting for a response from a third party insurance firm as well as a quote from his handyman to try and offer a "partial" reimbursement if approved by the owner. Ruff and Ready is just like every budget other moving company out there. Shady, unprofessional, and unwilling to do the right thing to take care of their customers. You're in better hands with literally any other company. Just don't give these folks a chance to damage your property like they did us. I will update as the saga continues, as now I'm supposed to receive an update and call from the owner by Thurs of this week. I suspect this will not happen. read more

The management is disgusting , at the end of the move I had question about the charge and talked to Russ one of the manager , he was rude so I had to hang up . I wrote a long email after 2-3 days to the company and explained everything in detail just to see anyone care , no respond !!!!!! after a few more days I send another email and no respond !!!!! _ I had the first meeting with Ken in my store to move my store to my garage at home and 10 pisces of small shelves and drawer to my condo . ( I had a 700 square feet space similar to one bedroom condo, he looked at everything , made a note and left ). He gave me an email same day with the ESTIMATE of $495 included the fuel charge for 4 hours ( they have min. of 4 hours even you may don't need it ) - They asked for $110 per hour + fuel charge and travel time , the price was in the middle of other quote that I had from other moving company with the same rating . (Their price was in the middle and I accept without asking for discount , at the end when I was talking with , Russ , He was yelling at me and telling me I got the discounted price per hour which is normally $130 per hours and they did me a favor !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - I choose them because their location was 5 minutes far from my store I had quote from two other one for $85 but their location was a little far. They came , nice and friendly guys , but there was two problems . They were spending too much time to wrap things that they didn't necessarily need to be wrapped , they used the truck' lift for very small and light items, both of them were very time consuming . At the end I was charged $1076 ( 2 hours for 35 minutes distance , almost 3 times more than traveling time not twice !!! and that was my question ) . THE CHARGE WAS TWICE MORE THAN ESTIMATE EVEN AFTER THEIR EXPERT CAME TO MY PLACE AND SAW EVERYTHING AND KNEW THE DETAILS AND GAVE ME THE ESTIMATE !!!!!!!!!!!! , before the move I know it will always goes over than estimate because they are in-charge of time anyway but to this extend . I have to mentioned at the end of moving and before my conversation with Russ , I knew I am going to be charge much higher because of the time , I was upset but because the movers had good behavior I was almost fine . But the most important reason I am writing this review is my conversation with Russ asking him about the charge and he was yelling and insulting me so I had to hang up , a few days after even I tried to communicate with them with emails , they didn't care at all ( I think after this review, perhaps they will respond because their rating is more important than my feeling as customer ). When I was reading their reviews noticed they never admit they did anything wrong or they can improve something. Moved my elderly folks from California to Texas after 30+ years of residency in CA, to say the least it was a big move for all of us... I personally read many reviews about moving nightmares people had experienced with many different companies, including this one but Ruff & Ready was recommended by my realtor during my search so I finally made the difficult decision to give them a shot.. Glad I did! I had 3 different companies give me bids. Ruff & Ready was the only company to actually send someone to the home, Paul who was very informative about the process, options available, etc... They weren't the lowest estimate or the highest either, but ultimately led me to believe the most trusted... We booked! We chose to pay an additional fee for guaranteed delivery which was a few days prior to Thanksgiving... Good to go, right?! Long story short, having to reschedule more than once due to escrow issues and such I found the office ladies and the owner to be very understanding and accommodating. While we had "owner" packed a great majority of our 13,000 lbs of belongings, we found moving day a great and smooth experience! "All" the movers were polite and patient with my elderly disabled parents both in California and Texas! Due to the unfortunate timing of the holiday I believe the owner of this company called in a few favors to make good on the guaranteed delivery time frame. There is definitely something to say about someone's integrity and reputation when you can call upon family or friends to help you out and they willingly step up! Most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They get paid by the hour and will certainly milk that time to get the most out of your move. When you call to dispute the charges after their guys take several on the clock 20+ min breaks they will argue that their guys don't do that. Austin kept cutting me off as I tried to explain my experience then when I interrupted him back he very rudely said to let him talk. He told me I didn't get a contract because i provided the wrong email. I did not. I called to find the girl who took my info wrote my email wrong. I then correct the info and i still have not received a contract. They start charging you the moment the gps pings them at your address even if they don't come to your door for 15 min. Then you also pay for them to write up paperwork and count it as moving time. They will stop to get gas ( which you pay for) and still be running the clock. I was billed $1200 to move a one bedroom apartment. Yes one bedroom. Their movers took there time to the point that it took one hour to move two pieces of furniture. My son was overlooking as I was running around getting things done at my apartment. If you use this company BABYSIT them!!! They WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE AND GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND WHEN YOU ADVISE THEM ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE. I spoke to one manager and he never returned my call. I had to call back to speak with him. Shawn the first manager hesitated to give me Austin's contact info. They would not help me at all. I am a single mother who was taken advantage of by this company. My realtor James Shelby with Shelby sold recommended Ruff and Ready movers to me. A first I was like ruff like rough movers this can't be good. But I'm so glad I got over the picture in my head of movers that were rough with my stuff Because Ruff and Ready are the complete opposite of Rough. Ruff and Ready also has speedy service. On a Friday Ken came out and gave an estimate for my home. Saturday guys came to pack up everything into boxes. They carefully packed everything. The team was very attentive and made sure to take excellent care of every item they packed. Then Sunday Luis' team came to finish the Job. Luis, Chris, Mike and Daniel were amazing. The really moved so fast through the house collecting all the boxes that the previous team packed. They were very precise and shrink wrapped all of our big items like the couch table and beds. I would highly recommend ruff and Ready movers. Thank you Daniel for not minding me cleaning up under the couch as you were trying to wrap and move it and not minding that I talked your ear off while you were busy running boxes. On July 3rd Operation Temecula Food Drive was gifted a Fridge for our garage so that we could keep cold items donated at our home fresh and we had no idea how we would get it home, it was a beast, a neighbor made 1 call and Samantha answered and she handed me the phone and within 15 minutes she had set up a time that I could pick up the fridge, well she and the crew went one step even farther, she went to Menifee to pick up the truck that was loaded and had to be unloaded and said give me the address my guys will pick it up and deliver it to your home, tears in my eyes I could not believe it a miracle had happened, Rough and Ready were there to lift, move, carry, drive, pick up , deliver and it was gifted to our cause Operation Temecula Food Drive feeding isolated seniors/elderly and family's at risk in our community!! This entire team restored my faith in humanity and gave from there hearts, thank you, I would refer them to anybody that has any moving needs, they have heart and a great attitude and got the job done and asked for nothing, we gave them some crates of fruit but wanted to give them so much more! These guys were A+++. My fiancé works 13 hour nights, 7 days a week for the next few weeks and I was stressed out doing this move all on my own. I had a 20' storage with all of my 4 bd, pool table/game room, etc home. I had them ALL DAY as it was was a two hour trip, one-way to our new location and they pack the truck strategically and there were no breaks or marks on any of the furniture, paintings, etc. they brought boxes for the extra little things I had just thrown into the storage a year ago and tons of blankets for coverage too. I left them to go to my new place after I realized they were fully competent and doing a great job. They swept and closed my now empty (hooray) storage unit. They made it to my VERY rural home with no need for directions. The three of them unloaded everything exactly where I wanted it all. They were so polite and I would use them again and again (but this better be my last move!!). I rarely use yelp but they are way too good not to give them the rating they deserve. We used Ruff and Ready moving in November 2017. From our initial contact with the company when we had the job estimator come out to review our household goods and contents we were very happy with the professionalism and the knowledge detail of what it would take to move our three-bedroom house. Upon moving day the truck showed up and three young gentleman, started to get to work. They went as far as putting Protective sheeting on the walls, putting protective coating down on the floor so the dolly's wouldn't scratch our wood floors and they were just knowledgeable professional and courteous. Great Customer service!! My husband and I manage storage facilities and we meet John about 2 years ago and we would always recommend to customers who were looking for movers. We would always give a few name but Ruff & Ready was always #1 first and we always had great feedback from the customers who used them. So when we needed movers for our move from Temecula to Torrance, Ca we called them!! John sent out to of the best guys every!! David & David. They were on time and had a great attitude, too. I called around to get quotes on moving our things from a storage unit to our new home. Ruff and Ready was the most responsive and most reasonable in cost. Samantha was great to work with over the phone setting everything up. My husband met the movers at the storage unit and when he called me to say they were loaded up and on their way to the house, I was thinking it took them longer than I expected to load everything from storage...but when they got to the house I understood. Every piece of furniture was carefully wrapped with blankets and/or plastic wrap. They set down protective mats over the doorways and protected the sliders and entry walls with blankets. Keith, Ricky and Tye were the three movers assigned to my job and we couldn't have been more impressed. They were extremely courteous and worked hard and fast but were always very careful with my things. In fact they took way more care with my things moving it out or storage than we did moving it into storage. This was our first time ever using movers and they were worth every penny. My husband and I have used these guys twice. The last time being on 4/15. (First time two years earlier) John came out and provided me with an estimate and gave me a few tips to save a little money and make my move a little easier. My husband and I listened and did just that. William and Jesse are amazing! (There was another guy but can't remember his name) They had my 2100 sq ft house packed into their trucks and then unloaded into our storage unit in 7.5 hours!!! (Including 40min drive between the two) And let me tell you we have a lot of crap as my husband would say. They where careful with all of our belongings and even helped me pack a few things I wasn't exactly sure how to pack. We are moving into our new home in two weeks and yes we will be using them again and requesting William and Jesse. I strongly advise doing an in home estimate with John that way you have no surprises, he was dead on with what we needed to move. We were moving out of town so we hired Ruff & Ready Moving to load only our truck as we would have movers in our new city unload. John, the owner, was courteous on the phone and gave me a very fair price. I've had other movers in the past who were shall we say...shady looking? (Haven't I seen you on America's Most Wanted?) Not today! The movers, Matt & Garrett, showed up and were extremely prompt, clean cut and super POLITE. I've never had two movers work so hard as these guys despite the 99 degree heat. They were careful, precise, wrapped all our furniture better than I could have wished for and loaded the truck to the rim like true professionals. I don't write Yelp reviews but was so impressed that I felt the need to do just that. I would highly recommend Ruff & Ready Movers and specifically Matt & Garrett. Ruff and Ready moving company was the best moving company I ever had an experience with. Republic Moving and Storage was our original moving company to move us to Montana. We had to be out of our house by 6 p.m. on moving day and Republic Moving and Storage showed up to our house with flatbed trucks and wooden crates for our furniture after being promised a 53-foot tractor-trailer by their sales associate. After deciding our Furniture could not fit in thier moving crates, they left the job and left us high and dry. We called Rough and Ready and they showed up within 2 hours to get us moved. They saved the day. The movers were very respectful and professional, met all of our needs and went above and beyond. I would give them 10 Stars if it went that high. I want to commend the movers who were sent to my belongings. I had water damage and were waiting for a company to come in and tear up my floors and walls. Furniture had to be moved into a storage facility first. in comes the Ruff and Ready crew, Ed, Adrian and Luis. They were on time, very courteous and very professional. They took care to wrap all of our glass knick knacks (we have a lot of glass) didn't take anything for granted. They asked me questions about what should be moved and where i wanted items. They were careful but quick. and on top of all of that, they were extremely friendly. They actually engaged in conversation and didn't make me feel like i was in their way. We hired Ruff and Ready to move our Mom from Chula Vista to Temecula. Hector and his crew were Amazing! They went to work and didn't stop until they were done. Completely professional and kicked butt for us! They moved 47 years of antiques, art, china, crystal, and furniture without incident. This was a childhood home and was an emotional move for my husband and his mother. Ruff and Ready helped make this day just a bit easier for our family. We recently moved my parents and we hired Ruff and Ready Moving and I'm so glad we did. It was blazzzing HOT but the crew showed up on time and got straight to work without a single complaint. These guys worked hard the entire time and never slowed down even in the heat They were also super kind and respectful with my parents which meant a lot to me. We had a few things they couldnt take in the truck like plants but they didnt just leave us hanging they helped us load them into my our trunk. A friend of mine got scammed/surprise upcharged by a moving company so I was extra careful about who we picked! Ruff and Ready is a real company with a solid reputation and now I totally see why. He used a local moving company who Failed to get the job done. In a panic, my Dad went online and found Ruff and Ready movers. John and his crew went above and BEYOND our expectations. This company turned a very stressful situation into the light at the end of the tunnel. 4 guys, experienced, careful, managed to move all the furniture including a baby grand piano AND set up the piano in the apartment. Ruff n Ready truly delivered professional, courteous, and exceptional service. They went above and beyond. Athough I was over an hour late they still accommodated all my needs. They were skilled and came prepared to efficiently unloaded the U-haul. They set up all my furniture and bed so that I was able sleep on my bed after driving a 17' U-haul for over 3 hours with a 3 year old. Lastly, I want to thank the movers for being so kind to my son and I and not rushing us as we arrived an hour late and it was after 8pm before I was all moved in and they still insisted on helping me set up all my furniture and bed.
