I'm really looking forward to reviewing this place. I should have taken pictures of our food it was amazing but I totally forgot. This place has a huge menu. Everything from burgers to garbage plates to wraps, hot dogs, hamburgers , meatloaf you name it it's on the menu. They also have a kids menu. The portion sizes are giant. I got the turkey bacon cheddar tomato sourdough melt . Comes with a few pickles and a boatload of fries. Awesome. My husband got the cheeseburger which he said was fantastic. Seasoned well and very juicy. Also served with a boatload of fries. My parents each got the pastrami sandwich with a side of potato salad and they said it was delicious. My grandson got the chicken tenders kids meal . Comes with two giant tenders and a ton of fries. I loved the feel of this place you can tell the locals spend a lot of time there. Lots of laughing and chatter because it seems like everybody knows each other. The wait staff was very friendly and offered recommendations when we were looking over the menu. I wish I lived closer because I would go there a couple times a week. I love a good diner and this one tops the list. If you go to the Medina Railroad Museum stop in and grab a bite to eat at Rudy's. Great lunches! Big servings and real good service! Not much more to say...other than if you're riding bike down Erie Canal path and need a good meal this is a really good spot in Medina. Sit at a table or at tbe diner bar. Waitresses are quick to take order and quick to get food out. You really can't go wrong. Also, They have ice cream! read more

50's style diner, I have loved this place since I was a teenager . Great diner food. Milkshakes and burgers a must. Good atmosphere a great service. Always have specials and will always satisfy. I went to Rudy's today with my grandparents and siblings hoping to have a nice quality meal after a hard days work but little did I know, my plans were about to be thwarted by a serving wench(waitress) with a low I.Q. Some people will never know the feeling when you are a teenager and you are mistaken for a child by the age of 10 and under. You are supposed to receive a children's menu at Rudy's if you are by the age of 10 and under. However, I a 14 year old was handed a children's menu which made me question my entire life. In a state where I could be tried in a court of law as an adult for certain crimes, being mistaken for a child is completely absurd. Basically what I'm saying is that I have been insulted. When we walked in we sat down and my older sister(16) and grandparents(50+) were handed adult menus. Then I was ranked as a child with my younger sister(9) when I was handed the childens menu of eternal darkness. It is utterly horrendous to feel the pain and agony that was brought upon me by some random serving wench who obviously is incapable of telling the difference between a 14 year old and a child by the age of 10 and under. This completely ruined my afternoon and possibly the rest of my life all because of this serving wench. If you think that's bad, you should have tried the food which tasted as if it were frozen then microwaved then slapped on tray(like how prisoners get fed). So now after reading this if you think that I am just some dumb kid, then you obviously have never gone through what I have been through on this terrible evening of dreadful events. read more

This is one of the best place to eat ever. I have yet to find anything off the menu that I don't like. The staff is very friendly and it has a real family feel to it. The coffee is always fresh, hot and cups are never empty. The owner of the place Kelly is there most of the time. She is very friendly and will take time out of her schedule to talk to the customers. We go there alot and could never find any place better to go if we tried. I promise once you start going here you to will be hooked. read more

I want to like Rudy's, but I think it could be better. When I lived down south, I would come home and go to Rudy's and it seemed like a great ice cream parlor type restaurant. Since moving back to Medina, I haven't enjoyed it at all. My parents say that they made some changes that made it more like a regular restaurant rather than an ice cream parlor. I can't put my finger on it. The food seems fine and the service staff seems very nice. I like the ice cream, but it is all hard ice cream and I always feel like they charged me too much for something I could make at home. All in all, everything at Rudy's seem good (not great), but every time I eat there I feel like I had to pay too much for what I received. read more

Being a food critic, I'm going to give it to you straight. Don't go here. It has been 2 times in a row and I have found a hair on my burger. My service has been nothing but under average, and this place was nothing but a waste of money. If I had a chance, I would give this no stars and try to close this place down. read more

Wow, this place is excellent! Stopped here yesterday with my usual dinner companion. One of the first things we noticed, as we're from buffalo, was how much it looked like Bedford falls, you know, that town in it's a wonderful life? Yeah, I didn't like that movie either. Anyway, when we got in, it was just like a 50's diner. I ordered a bowl of beer cheese soup, a garbage plate and apple crumb pie a la mode. My companion got a salad and chicken cacciatore. The soup, given that I've had beer cheese soup in Wisconsin, which is to die for, wasn't the best soup I ever had, but on its own terms, it was still pretty damn good. The garbage plate was amazing, it was a cheeseburger, fries and macaroni salad covered in meat sauce, with hot sauce on the side. The pie was also excellent, some great homemade pie. My companion enjoyed his salad and pasta. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely be back! read more

We have been eating at Rudys for several years now we have always enjoyed the food the atmosphere customers & the wait staff . We love small towns with big hearts when we are on the road attending estate sales . We checked in this past Saturday morning while still breakfast hours our server was more than happy to offer us us the luncheon menu . I settled for club sandwich with ham on toast ... club sandwiches are one of my favorites ! I was positive I had one at Rudys before ? This one left me thinking I had plenty of other better choices ... the ham was not sliced ham but a pressed ham product . I was very disappointed ... the cheese slice was a bit dry not the easiest sandwich to eat ! Certainly not the club sandwich favorite I was hoping for ... I would have been happier with one of the many other luncheon choices ... the good side of our visit was the dill pickle soup we shared a bowl !!! You can be sure I will order my own bowl next time we are in Medina for lunch ... a suggestion to the kitchen please consider dumping the pressed ham product and replacing it with traditional tasty sliced ham which makes a much better club sandwich ... we are from Buffalo and have always enjoyed Rudys since discovering it a few years back ! read more

I like this place. They have recently remodeled and the place looks great. Still a 50's theme. Big lunches, more than I can eat and I wouldn't even attempt to finish the burger they serve. Dinner portions are very large too and I almost always leave with a box.. My favorites are the turkey dinner and pasta and meatballs. Staff is friendly and service is good even when they're busy. Only once did I have food that wasn't hot enough. read more

This is probably the best restaurant in town. I recommend the chicken finger sub. I have been there about 17 times and great service there was only about 2 times the service wasn't good. I have been there for breakfast lunch and dinner I personally like dinner the best. The only thing is it's hard to drive out of there and hard to get a parking spot so I go across the street. So yeah I would totally recommend this restaurant. Hope this helps! read more

I have personally been a regular here for years, everything is home made even the pies! The help there is great, very friendly (part of why I keep going back) I have never had anything to complain about and if I did I know they would do anything they could to make me happy, that's just how they are. Also I find the fifties theme pretty awesome! Not cheap at all, in the soda bar room the counter with red stools are just like something you would see in a movie! You guys rock! I moved here 8 months ago after my mom had passed, Still greiving over my loss, I was Introduced to "Rudys"!!! Phenomonal home cooked meals... The food and atmosphere brought me back to life, reminding me of moms home cooked meals! Favorites for me are the meatloaf diner, and now another on my list, Rudys meatball slider, If your ever In this Gods country, do not hesitate to visit "Rudys", Good Eats!
