I must say this place is horrible to eat at. The burgers taste horrible. Not what it used to be . I am terribly dissatisfied and disappointed to say that McDonalds burgers are way better than eating at Rubys Diner burger. Must avoid at all costs. Ate here while at Citadel. The outdoor patio is covered and has strong A/C and was actually cooler than the inside of the restaurant. I got a TLT and the turkey and bread is so dry. I put a lot of mayo and mustard on it to fix it. They give little activity stickers/fold a car to kids (not mine) which is nice. I actually played with it cause they didn't know how. Was not a long wait. The food is good/fine with reasonable prices, tho this is stuff yo u can probably make at home. The food court at Citadel is an outdoors one, so all the seating is outside, tho there is some shade. Also, the food court is in one area and Ruby's is nearby. With 2 kids in tow (not mine) and 2 adults, we did not want to go to 4/many different places to get food which is why we chose Ruby's. read more

Went to Ruby's today and was surprised by the friendly and efficient service by literally everyone working there. It feels like nowadays, there is no sense of urgency or care to give decent service in restaurants or stores, but this Ruby's was awesome! All of the servers, hosts, busboys, etc. seemed really young and they were on it! Our server, Karen, was great and attentive. We wish more restaurants had employees with this kind of work ethic. :) read more

I should order nothing else here, just their milkshake. ---Ruby's classic burger: I couldn't even describe how awful their meat patty tasted and texture is like. I wonder whether if it's really meat? The "meat" patty looks blackened, it's crispy and tasteless. It's like eating charcoal unsweetened cookie crisps. I took one bite and spat immediately out. The only thing that's edible is the fries. I came here yesterday with my friend we are seated at the bar and since the smell of the kitchen is so strong we requested to be seated at one of the table and it was granted. However the server KAREN who is designated on that area asked us why are we there and told us that we need to come back at the bar area. When she get's back she told us that since she is not the one seated us there SHE IS NOT GOING TO HELP us. You are damn mean KAREN we don't need you we just need to eat and relax after a day of shopping and in the first place we are told to sit there. You got to be re oriented on customer service ands your name KAREN really suits your BAD attitude! I went this last Saturday to come see the tree lighting ceremony. I had been to the Ruby's before and had a great experience, all be it before the pandemic, so I decided to take my family there to eat dinner after the lighting ceremony. It wasn't too busy so I decided to take my family there to have a nice meal as they really enjoyed the atmosphere last time we went. we were seated in just a few minutes. Once seated it became clear that the staff had seated us (and every other family with small children) in the back corner of the restaurant. I only bring this up because it really borders on discrimination to do this in this manner, as if having children automatically means that we may disrupt the meals of the people around us. My children are well behaved and would have loved to look at something other than the restrooms while eating. They took our order relatively quickly, but it took almost half an hour to get the food. When the food came it was clear that the kitchen, that couldn't have been that busy, didn't know how to prioritize plating. We ordered a Burger and fries meal and a chicken tenders dinner with a salad. Everything was cold except the chicken tenders, which tells me it was all waiting there for one item to be finished. Also the side salad my wife received was inedible as it contained mostly wilted lettuce and brown cucumbers. I understand that they have to be prepared throughout the day, however the employees/cooks should at least take a look at what's being served before it comes out. I was planning on getting a shake for dessert for the kids, but after the experience we had with the food from dinner, I could give this restaurant any more of my money or business. I took them to the ice cream shop out in the shops. All in all very disappointed in the experience and in the environment that is today's service industry a restaurant service this type of quality will not succeed regardless of the loyalty they built in prior years. I've always drove or walked by a Ruby's but never went in and tried their food. I finally decided to try it since the type of food was convenient. My Fiancé and I got seated right away during lunch hour, but the waitress was a little slow at greeting us and asking for our drinks. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger with fries. The cheese was not even melted onto the meat and the meat over all was bland- there was no flavor to the whole burger. Overall experience was ok - nothing really stood out to me. The waitress seemed busy- we had to flag her down to refill our drinks and she didn't ask how the food was or anything. Probably won't come back and dine. read more

Pretty dissapointing. My husband basically was so excited to try Ruby's. He just kept insisting it was AMAZING. (He would go to the one in Rancho Palos Verdes.) It seemed to be nostalgic to him. One bite in, he tells me, "This is not Ruby's. This is not how it's supposed to be. " We ordered 2 burgers and the chicken tenders under "kids". (1 rubys original with chili cheese fries, 1 bacon cheeseburger with frings) The chicken was a bit dry, BUT they completely forgot the fries that were supposed to come with. My child, who loves chicken, wouldnt eat it. Some peices tasted less fresh, ended up being shared between my husband and our dog. Lol. My husband's burger was to wet. Mine was INCREDIBLY dry. The bacon was so dry that it was hard to chew, the actual Patty was dry. As if the food hadÿ just sat out forever. Fries had no taste. No salt. Although they did provide salt on the side. The dipping sauces for the chicken were 100% better then the chicken itself. Onion rings were good... They were really good.... Also the only reason I am giving it 2 stars was the chili. Tasted homemade, I would order that by itself! 40+ dollars for dry and missing food. Probablly won't ever return to this specific place again, felt like I got majorly ripped off. I also really didn't appreciate the fact they overstuffed the bag which made the seal useless. It arrived completely opened and unsealed, ripped. So I kind of just had to have trust in my driver. We came here on Father's day hoping for a good breakfast. Wrong!! We wanted coffee but our coffee was full of coffee grains, we were told that's how it came out. We didn't want it so our waitress tried making a new batch but still recieved coffee grains just not as much. We skipped the coffee. Ok so we finally get our pancakes...they were so tasteless and extremely dry!! Our butter was so cold we couldn't even spread it on our pancakes. Our waffles we're even worse! My friends and I came here to have lunch. We were disappointed with all of our food but the fries and onion rings. The chicken strips were very bland, there seemed to be no seasoning in the breading. The burgers we ordered (the Cobb burger, bacon cheeseburger and rubys burger) were all bland too. There seem to be no seasoning on the meat and it was very dry. The dressing on the Cobb burger was way too strong and was not appetizing. The shakes that we ordered seemed to not be as cold as it should have been. Food was overpriced based on the quality. I went to this Ruby's only twice and both times were not bad for me. American Kobe Sliders: kobe beef topped with Ruby's sauce and caramelized onions. I like this because they use King Hawaiian rolls as buns. 3.5 stars. Mushroom Swiss Burger: not bad. 3 stars. Refillable fries or upgrade your burger combo with onion rings for additional cost. They've got deluxe flavors like Oreo Cookie Fantasy and Black Forrest and more traditional flavors like vanilla, peanut butter and strawberry. For our trip here, my cousins got the Oreo Cookie Fantasy and the Banana Cream Dream. I got the Black Cherry. The shakes were refreshing, cool and sweet! I loved how they were freshly made! The reason I'm giving this Ruby's a 3/5 stars is because of the service and location. I went with my friend and we asked several times for ranch and for our empty ketchup bottle to be replaced. The waiter did give us what we asked but only after the third time we kindly asked. We were only offered a refill of our fries once we were about ready to head out to pay. So we never got to refill our fries. However the food was good. Not the best burger I've had but it was decent for the price. We both ordered the same thing.
