This review is based on customer service alone!!! We had Melissa as our server and she was amazing !! I honestly haven't had great service at a restaurant in a very long time. She was such a positive and attentive server , we are very happy about our dining experience. Thank you so much Melissa read more

I was expecting way more. Highly disappointed. Strawberry lemonade taste like syrup and sink water. I had the bacon burger and the first bite I heard a loud crunch I thought it was the bacon,NOPE it was the stale hard bun ! The tomato looked like slimy slushy slime that oozed into the grey lifeless compacted sorry excuse for a patty. I have seen more color on a corpse. I can tell they use the same fryer for everything because my fries taste like fish and chips. The hickory burger was dry and fell apart at the same time. I should have just gone to Wendy's. The girls helping us were nice read more

Food is the only reason I come back. The service is insanely slow yet the food comes out within 2 minutes which is concerning I guess but I was waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes til someone actually greeted us, didn't apologize btw.. and then sat us. Server took about 15-20 min of me and my bf just resting our head on our hand and being bored til she actually came and asked us if we were good when we just wanted the check. They also got my boyfriend's order wrong, and she came back within 2 minutes with his food which is concerning .. a burger doesn't take 1-2 min to cook.. idk if they're understaffed or something but it's just a bad weird vibe here /: read more

Good customer service, but the food is awful. The burger tastes really unfresh and the patty is cold.

I must say this place is horrible to eat at. The burgers taste horrible. Not what it used to be . I am terribly dissatisfied and disappointed to say that McDonalds burgers are way better than eating at Rubys Diner burger. Must avoid at all costs. In order to be better and charge the price for it they must change their chef or fire the manager. Good luck read more

Went to Ruby's today and was surprised by the friendly and efficient service by literally everyone working there. It feels like nowadays, there is no sense of urgency or care to give decent service in restaurants or stores, but this Ruby's was awesome! All of the servers, hosts, busboys, etc. seemed really young and they were on it! Our server, Karen, was great and attentive. We wish more restaurants had employees with this kind of work ethic. :) read more

I would give 5 stars for the service, unfortunately the food is terrible. -++ Strawberry milkshake: this version is a bit thick, but it's still lovely. I should order nothing else here, just their milkshake. ---Ruby's classic burger: I couldn't even describe how awful their meat patty tasted and texture is like. I wonder whether if it's really meat? The "meat" patty looks blackened, it's crispy and tasteless. It's like eating charcoal unsweetened cookie crisps. I took one bite and spat immediately out. The only thing that's edible is the fries. Surprisingly ..their fries is crispy. It's still crispy when it's not too hot anymore. Impressive. Please do something about your nasty meat patty. read more

Hey Everyone, I came to Citadel with my family, and we decided to eat here. I got the bacon cheese burger. I was surprise with the taste. It's not the best burger, but it's above average. However, I was disappointed with the fries. The fries were stale. The service was average. read more

The main reason I go: The Shakes are dope! I really like their shakes here. Overall I'm a pretty healthy eater, but whenever I visit the Citadel, I typically will order a shake to go and walk around with it while I shop OR stop by for one before heading home. The shakes are really good. Enjoy! I'm a fellow traveler so I appreciate when other people have given me tips/recommendations while in a new city. This is the worst restaurant i have ever been. I came here yesterday with my friend we are seated at the bar and since the smell of the kitchen is so strong we requested to be seated at one of the table and it was granted. However the server KAREN who is designated on that area asked us why are we there and told us that we need to come back at the bar area. When she get's back she told us that since she is not the one seated us there SHE IS NOT GOING TO HELP us. You are damn mean KAREN we don't need you we just need to eat and relax after a day of shopping and in the first place we are told to sit there. You got to be re oriented on customer service ands your name KAREN really suits your BAD attitude! I will never come back here and i wont recommend this restaurant ever. if i could rate you 0 star i will. read more

I went this last Saturday to come see the tree lighting ceremony. I had been to the Ruby's before and had a great experience, all be it before the pandemic, so I decided to take my family there to eat dinner after the lighting ceremony. It wasn't too busy so I decided to take my family there to have a nice meal as they really enjoyed the atmosphere last time we went. we were seated in just a few minutes. Once seated it became clear that the staff had seated us (and every other family with small children) in the back corner of the restaurant. I only bring this up because it really borders on discrimination to do this in this manner, as if having children automatically means that we may disrupt the meals of the people around us. My children are well behaved and would have loved to look at something other than the restrooms while eating. They took our order relatively quickly, but it took almost half an hour to get the food. When the food came it was clear that the kitchen, that couldn't have been that busy, didn't know how to prioritize plating. We ordered a Burger and fries meal and a chicken tenders dinner with a salad. Everything was cold except the chicken tenders, which tells me it was all waiting there for one item to be finished. Also the side salad my wife received was inedible as it contained mostly wilted lettuce and brown cucumbers. I understand that they have to be prepared throughout the day, however the employees/cooks should at least take a look at what's being served before it comes out. I was planning on getting a shake for dessert for the kids, but after the experience we had with the food from dinner, I could give this restaurant any more of my money or business. I took them to the ice cream shop out in the shops. All in all very disappointed in the experience and in the environment that is today's service industry a restaurant service this type of quality will not succeed regardless of the loyalty they built in prior years. They will just continue to lose customers like myself once it is experienced. read more

I've always drove or walked by a Ruby's but never went in and tried their food. I finally decided to try it since the type of food was convenient. My Fiancé and I got seated right away during lunch hour, but the waitress was a little slow at greeting us and asking for our drinks. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger with fries. The cheese was not even melted onto the meat and the meat over all was bland- there was no flavor to the whole burger. Overall experience was ok - nothing really stood out to me. The waitress seemed busy- we had to flag her down to refill our drinks and she didn't ask how the food was or anything. Probably won't come back and dine. read more

We came here on Father's day hoping for a good breakfast. Wrong!! We wanted coffee but our coffee was full of coffee grains, we were told that's how it came out. We didn't want it so our waitress tried making a new batch but still recieved coffee grains just not as much. We skipped the coffee. Ok so we finally get our pancakes...they were so tasteless and extremely dry!! Our butter was so cold we couldn't even spread it on our pancakes. Our waffles we're even worse! Our milk shake was a cup of ice cream. We left and paid $69, yup $69.00 down the trash! We reminded ourselves never to go back!! No pictures of the food, I was to disappointed! read more

The service is mediocre but the food is terrible. The chicken taste like paper with a little to crisp to it. You have to chase a waitress down to get a refill. The chicken tenders are the worst I've ever had, won't be coming back read more

Ruby's was busy but we got our table in 10 minutes. Wonderful service by the waitresses and staff, food arrived quick and good quality!

My friends and I came here to have lunch. We were disappointed with all of our food but the fries and onion rings. The chicken strips were very bland, there seemed to be no seasoning in the breading. The burgers we ordered (the Cobb burger, bacon cheeseburger and rubys burger) were all bland too. There seem to be no seasoning on the meat and it was very dry. The dressing on the Cobb burger was way too strong and was not appetizing. The shakes that we ordered seemed to not be as cold as it should have been. Food was overpriced based on the quality. Won't be coming here again unless it's a last resort. read more

Pretty dissapointing. My husband basically was so excited to try Ruby's. He just kept insisting it was AMAZING. (He would go to the one in Rancho Palos Verdes.) It seemed to be nostalgic to him. One bite in, he tells me, "This is not Ruby's. This is not how it's supposed to be. " We ordered 2 burgers and the chicken tenders under "kids". (1 rubys original with chili cheese fries, 1 bacon cheeseburger with frings) The chicken was a bit dry, BUT they completely forgot the fries that were supposed to come with. My child, who loves chicken, wouldnt eat it. Some peices tasted less fresh, ended up being shared between my husband and our dog. Lol. My husband's burger was to wet. Mine was INCREDIBLY dry. The bacon was so dry that it was hard to chew, the actual Patty was dry. As if the food hadÿ just sat out forever. Fries had no taste. No salt. Although they did provide salt on the side. The dipping sauces for the chicken were 100% better then the chicken itself. Onion rings were good... They were really good.... Also the only reason I am giving it 2 stars was the chili. Tasted homemade, I would order that by itself! 40+ dollars for dry and missing food. Probablly won't ever return to this specific place again, felt like I got majorly ripped off. I also really didn't appreciate the fact they overstuffed the bag which made the seal useless. It arrived completely opened and unsealed, ripped. So I kind of just had to have trust in my driver. I am about 90% sure it was the restaurant. read more

Spent $107.00 for 5 burger combos and 2 appetizers. I was really upset. The burgers were dry and the fries, onion rings and fried calamari seemed like the cheap frozen stuff you get at the market. I would have gotten better quality at half the price at Micky D's. Two thumbs down. Lesson learned. read more

One whole star ,only because the grilled cheese sandwich was superb , very delicious . The rest of our meal was a nightmare . We ordered calamari as an appetizer. It was served very oddly it looked like fish sticks ? it was not crunchy at all or well cooked . It may as well been called -fried soggy batter! Then Ordered half soup and sandwich plate .What I originally wanted was vegetable soup but they where out so I selected a bowl of chili and boy was that a mistake, it had a strange texture like a porridge but way more thicker. I expected some liquid as it was called a soup ? There was none and the taste was unexplainable very disgusting not edible at all! . My daughter ordered a hamburger with a side garlic fries instead they brought her regular fries which where hard and cold , then they attempted to correct the mistake and bring her garlic fries which where're even more cold more hard and old and stale they slapped garlic salt on it and had no shame not embarrassed to present us with that waste! Never again will I step foot in this place . They should shut down ASAP! read more

I went to this Ruby's only twice and both times were not bad for me. American Kobe Sliders: kobe beef topped with Ruby's sauce and caramelized onions. I like this because they use King Hawaiian rolls as buns. 3.5 stars. Mushroom Swiss Burger: not bad. 3 stars. Refillable fries or upgrade your burger combo with onion rings for additional cost. You can also jazz up your fries with parmesan bleu fries, garlic fries, cajun fries or chili fries. Don't forget to order milkshake or malt to complete your meal ;) 3.5 stars!! I ordered the following food: jalapeño cheese sticks, buffalo chicken tenders, apple salad, bacon cheeseburger. Among the 4, I likes the jalapeño cheese sticks and apple salad. The cheese sticks had 3 dips. Any of the dips were good with the sticks. The salad had the right amount of topping and dressing. The dressing was good. The buffalo chicken tenders had too much breading. Uneven flavor for the chicken The burger tasted like any generic burger you could get in a diner. read more

Shake gallore! After shopping at the Citadel outlets, I treated my cousins to shakes at Ruby's diner. Each shake here is handmade to order. There's several different flavors to pick from! They've got deluxe flavors like Oreo Cookie Fantasy and Black Forrest and more traditional flavors like vanilla, peanut butter and strawberry. For our trip here, my cousins got the Oreo Cookie Fantasy and the Banana Cream Dream. I got the Black Cherry. The shakes were refreshing, cool and sweet! I loved how they were freshly made! After a long trip of strolling through store after store and shopping, the shakes were a nice treat! With tax, each shake was about $5.46. read more

Took my son here for the first time...His burger was dry and the onion rings were cold. He said I should of taken him to Jim's instead

Chicken dinner is fire! Wait times are long at all and the service is great! Onion rings are one of the best for sure.

Ordered a classic burger with cheese, coffee, and a sundae with caramel without almonds. Got delivered a turkey cheese burger and a caramel sundae but the cherry was missing. The waitress was nice and fixed everything, but the issue is that someone else delivers the food to the table, so that person may not have a clear idea of what we ordered. read more

Ruby's Diner is a cute spot that looks almost like the set of Greese the movie...not sure if I spelled the name right though. This place is busy all the time since it is located inside the Citadel shopping area. It is also close to some hotels as well. When we went here about four different groups were in front of us so we had to a wait a little bit. It wasn't super long but it wasn't 5 minutes either. Servers were busy with plenty of people and a full house inside. Got a tasty burger with avocado and lovely fries. Despite this place having a striking resemblance to Johnny Rockets, I was actually surprised by the food which is far better! I ordered the portobello mushroom burger and I loved that the buns were so fluffy and moist. The mushroom inside was delicious and wasn't overpowering like I thought it would be. I LOVE garlic fries but this place didn't reach my standards for that unfortunately. My fries portion was extremely small and I literally got 2 pinches of garlic with that. The strawberry smoothie I got tasted exactly like Johnny Rockets except this place just has more variety of flavors like strawberry banana and triple chocolate. I would come back solely for their burgers. read more
