Dirty, the tables are sticky, the menus have food remnants. The glassware and silverware has hard water stains, spots and looks like it was never washed or replaced. Salad bar plates wet and dirty. Scary salad bar. Service was not good, was never checked on after the food arrived, drink empty and no offer for another. The food is terrible and way too salty and overcooked. It literally tastes like table salt with every bite. I wish I didn't decide to go in but was stressed and exhausted and it was across from where I was. Should have known better by the semi-empty parking lot on a Friday evening. horrible horrible horrible, I went last night after brothers graduation. first the waitress maybe came to my table 2 times the whole hour and half I was there kept having to ask other waitress for things that I wanted/needed. She kept saying she was so busy but everytime I looked up she was just standing behind the bar wiping things down. Then the portions sizes crazy I paid $20 on a shrimp and chicken dish and first it took 40 minutes to come out and when it did I was shocked, the shrimp were the same size of a nickel and over cooked to high heavens with MOUNTAINS of salt on top of it, the mashed potatoes portions was smaller then the container they give you for the sauces. I don't care if the portions were small if the dish cost $15 not almost $22. The fact put bill came over $200 for food that looked like it came off the kids meal is crazy lot me and the seasoning on the food from anybody at the table said tasted so bland or you couldn't eat because the amount of salt that was put on it. Last night my husband and I took my sister out for dinner. It was horrrible ! My husbands steak was disgusting, no flavor literally tasted like nothing. He asked for medium it was well , well done. I got a cheeseburger and Mac and cheese. I never got my Mac and cheese and I got my Burger but, with hair in it. I returned it back to the waiter and received a new one. We headed for Red lobster and saw the Ruby Tuesdays in back of it. It was lunch so we figured the Salad bar route was good for us. I must say this is a new looking building and it is spotless on the inside. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. The menu is large but not oversize like a diner and I am okay with that. I had the salad bar and the crispy chicken sliders. The bar is well stocked and fresh and had more than enough variety's so the sliders were overkill. Have been going here for years on a very, very occasional basis and it never totally sucked. It had always been a mediocre experience in food quality and service, but it was convenient...this recent visit will most definitely be my last. First thing I noticed was the sticky table...then the sticky menus...then the sticky salt and pepper shakers...onto the ketchup bottle and beyond. Yuk. Against my better judgement, I ordered coffee. Big mistake. It was coffee, I guess, but litereally tasteless. Then I ordered chicken tenders and CRISPY fries. If I order fries, I specifically order them well done because they are normally underdone no matter where you go and browning them negates some of the greasiness. Obviously, the waitress (yes, I use gender specific labels...sue me. I was a waitress for years and never took offense at being referred to as such) misunderstood my request and brought out a plate of rock-hard chicken tender-looking things with dried out, stringy white meat inside and a pile of underdone, whitish, mealy fries. Even the GMO corn syrup-laden pseudo-ketchup didn't help. The waitress was polite enough, but obviously over worked as she was serving at tables and behind the bar, then apparently forgot I was there and I had to stand up and leave the table to get her attention. All I wanted to do was pay and get out of there. The "hostess" intervened and asked what I wanted. I said all I want is the check and to leave. She took that as an insult and accused me of yelling at her. Seriously, I did not yell at her. She obviously was having a bad day. I pointed out that I was aware they are understaffed, as is every restaurant in the country...still, not my fault. $15 to $20 for a plate of ...whatever...I expect a little better quality and service. While our food was absolutely delicious out waitress Samantha spent more time talking to her friends at the table behind us she even had their alcohol drinks ready on the table before they walked in the door (clearly didn't check ids) at one point even sitting down with them while we waited for 10 min for a coffee. When your order comes out five times incorrectly there's a problem. When your order comes out five time correctly and the fries are cold every time that's a problem when you order drinks and wait 13 minutes for a lemonade a seltzer and a Diet Coke and that's a problem when you try to pay for your bill but can't find your waitress for 10 minutes that's a problem. I frequent this place pretty often. I enjoy the salad bar here and they recently added more ingredients to the salad bar. The price for the salad bar was also raised with the addition of more ingredients. Before you could add the salad bar as a side to some meals for free. Now there's an additional price for adding salad bar as a side. Service is usually pretty nice. However the last time I went it took a very long time for our food to come out. I went for dinner with my 3 kids last night and was actually impressed the was good. I got a sirloin with a loaded baked potato l and it was cooked perfectly. My kids food all came out great I just wish they had the pizza my daughter wanted. Ate lunch here with 3 other people. I ordered the lunch combo which is the salad bar and a couple different options, mainly sliders. The chicken slider looked pretty good in the picture. It was supposed to be a breaded chicken patty with 2 pickles on each. When it came out, it was a chicken tender cut in half and 1 pickle on each. The fries were ridiculously salted so I only ate a couple of them. My niece ordered the Asiago steak and there was an excessive amount of cheese to cover a tiny steak which also wasn't cooked how she ordered it. It was basically rare and she ordered it medium well. The salad bar was ok, but I expected there to be more variety. They only had ham as far as meat and not as many veggies as I expected. Probably the worst dinner I've ever had in Middletown. We got three entrees, a steak that looked like it was at the bottom of the freezer for 3 weeks and has been thawing for the past two. A Burger that came out wrong 2 times and was subpar, and a chicken that was lower quality than Walmart's. Not worth the money. Ok this RT was good. There was nothing that jumped out at me and said "wow this is amazing for a chain place". The food was cooked good I just got the salad bar which was very good for the price. A person I was with had the salmon and said it was very good. Another person I was with had the set loin steak and they said that was cooked great medium. I know chain places can be hit or miss with there cooking depending who is on staff and how many people are In the restaurant. I have only eaten at this RT this one time so I don't have a hit or miss story. All I can say is that tonight the food was good. My salad was good. The waitress was nice and attentive. No complaints. My sisters steak and my aunts burger were Raw when they asked for well done. My father absolutely LOVES shepherd's pie and Ruby's version tasted like booty butt cheek therefore my father did not swallow his bite. My food tasted fine but it wasn't hot, it was luke warm and my meatballs had too big of bites of vegetables in them. Their mixed drinks were bad and had no fruity flavor like it said, if I wanted straight tequila l would just go to a liquor store. And t last but not least, the wait for our food was RIDICULOUS! We came here after walking out of Denny's across the road because that place was gross, and I'm glad we did. I got a cajun fish/shrimp dish with mashed potatoes and chicken quesadillas and it was all very good. I live in NYC and have meals that taste exactly the same at nice places in Manhattan, with a minor change or two, but for more money. I've been to this restaurant several times in the past several years. Overall it's better than the Ruby Tuesday's in the Mall, but not by much. Service and quality definetely seem to be on a steady decline. Tonight I went out with three other people. Service was SLOW. The man was very friendly but seemed to be working too many tables, also forgetfull. They tell you to pick two sides for your entrees but if you want salad bar you have to pay extra. I got a blue moon which was okay, but two others ordered Long Island Ice Tea and Strawberry Sangria, and neither were thrilled. Food overall was good, as well as dessert, Blondie was very good, but a lot of frustration over service marred the experience. This review is about Ruby Tuesday's catering service. The only reason this got even one star is because the food was on time. That's it. The food was horrible! Sliders had absolutely no taste and the rolls were hard. The wings had no taste and the breading was like mush. Same can be said of the broccoli. It wasn't even broccoli, it was mush.The order came with three sides and was supposed to serve 10-12 people. They must have been joking with the amount of food in the sides. It seems to me that the closing of some restaurants and updating some things here are not helping. My niece likes RT and we let her pick our lunch spot. The table had crumbs all over it when we were seated. I didn't see it as I used the bathroom before sitting down, my sister told me they had to clean it. Mind you, this was very early on a Saturday. The price was ok as there was a fajita special. We all got fajitas. They were ok. Both the raspberry and strawberry iced teas tasted very watered down. We wanted second drinks and asked for water instead of a refill because they were so tasteless. While our server was pleasant and fairly put together, the wait staff looked very unkempt and dirty even; my 11 year old niece actually said that. The worst part and reason we won't be returning was the piece of fried shrimp under our table. This was an early lunch, like 11:30ish on a Saturday, leading me to believe that was left there from the night before. Three stars is a generous rating. read more

Me the wife and our 18 month old daughter went out to dinner we were told by the waitress of a special for 699 399 for the salad bar plus an additional $3 to pick an entree for a special they were having we ordered that for me and the wife got our food the food was salty undercooked and overcooked some broccoli mushy others crunchy salad bar was disgusting but we were willing to deal with it until we got our bill we were charged over $30 turns out the waitress gave us the wrong information she calls her manager who tells us that tough the salad bars 1099 plus $3 for the entree bring her built over $30 when it should have been 14 and change over this talked to him lately he had the nerve to get my daughter upset hysterical and crying while he's telling me in front of my wife as he says quote it's not my fault you can't afford to pay your bills it is what it is if you don't pay then you're going to jail he even went the verified with the waitress that she told us that information by mistake because she was busy and new however his answer for that was I don't care you as a consumer should know that that's too good of a deal you have to pay needless to say I had to pay for the amount with my credit card and will be filing a dispute but in the meantime no one should go there this was actually the general manager I spoke with who was rude arrogant and committing fraud not to mention them serving underage kids alcohol at the bar and the waitress was even laughing about it. i went here 1/19/17 with friends, one of which was their birthday. the server was very friendly and polite with it and was attentive to our needs and did not bat a eye lash over us needing three separate checks. i had the new Orleans seafood, which was Cajun tilapia and shrimp and i had the rice pilaf as a side with the garden bar. the seafood was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, the Parmesan sauce really made it good. the rice pilaf was fresh. the updated garden was amazing and had way more then used too, it was nice to get a refresh with it, before a heavy meal. had the Philly steak pot stickers, they were good, but could have a had more filling and the Au jus sauce would been better in a ramekin, then at the bottom of the plate making the pot stickers soggy, also 7.99 for 5 is bit pricey, better to be 5.99 for 5 of them. the Blueberry compote lemon cake, was very yummy and i love the Myer lemon filing, but i wish the ice cream was a large scoop on top. also more of the blueberry compote sauce. i shared the shrimp fondue nachos with my friend and i love it, wish the shrimp was bigger in it, since it was hard to fish for them in the cheesy pit. overall, this location was pretty good, compare to the poughkeepsie one i usually go to. i will revisit. read more
