I really don't like to write negative reviews and rarely do....but I need to be honest with fellow Yelpers. My wife and I had not dined at the Gettysburg Ruby Tuesday for many years and decided to have dinner there after a delightful "Christmas Lights" horse dawn carriage ride through town. Regrettably this Ruby Tuesday visit was not like the visits we remembered. I ordered a 12 oz Rib-eye steak medium rare ($25) with a baked potato and unlimited trips to the salad bar (for an additional $6). I actually would have just preferred just a simple garden salad because I only made one trip to the salad bar. My wife ordered the coconut shrimp with french fries dinner. For beverages my wife had an iced tea and I had a diet coke. The salad bar was not what I remembered....some of the lettuce was brown as was the celery. The other veggies were quite "tired" and few of the many salad bar items were exhausted and still not refilled when I left the restaurant after dinner 45 minutes later. My steak came medium to well done and it was pretty tough which I did not expect from a rib-eye. I decided not to ask for a correctly cooked medium rare replacement because i was really hungry and did not want to wait another 10-15 minutes to eat while watching my wife eat. I did ask the waiter to let the chef know that the steak was not done as requested and he said he would do this. My wife's coconut shrimp and fries were quite tasty and enjoyable. Before I we ordered I showed our waiter a code from the Ruby Tuesday app that awarded us one free entree with one paid entree and he recorded the code. When the bill came there was no credit for the one free entree. When I pointed this out to the waiter he apologized and said the he guessed the discount somehow was not applied. I suspect he simply forgot to apply it? The vinyl tablecloth at our table was deteriorating and peeling off pieces. With the discount applied + tip+ tax the bill came to $51.00. All in all I cannot recommend this Ruby Tuesday as a good dining option in Gettysburg to my fellow Yelpers. read more

We stayed at the nearby Hampton Inn and ordered take out from this Ruby Tuesdays for 5 pm. We have ordered from this location before with no issues. The order was not ready and my husband came out and said it looks like no one is running the place. Not particularly good start. He went back inside ten minutes later and waited again a bit before getting the food. Went to the Hampton Inn and opened the bags. it was a simple order of crispy chicken with Caesar salad and a grilled salmon and a side order of colemslaw. The grilled salmon was there but no Caesar salad .. just a brown box with some crispy chicken strips. And no cole slaw either. Back we went to Ruby's and husband went inside.. I waited a minute then went in also as I was not happy. The girl said she forgot the Caeser salad... then presented the saddest looking excuse of a salad.. just romaine lettuce thrown into a container... the manager came out and was very nice when I lost it.. I was tired from the long drive and this was just lame... she said she would make it right and she came back about five minutes later with freshly made croutons, which were very yummy..we will be going back again this weekend for a return trip and will try this one more time. If they mess up again we will have to find somewhere else for take out. The young girl at the desk needs to pay attention more to what she is supposed to doing. Are server Andre was very good. And was the best part of our dinner experience. But there were a few things that did not impress me with my visit. My six oz rib eye steak was pushing it if was a quarter inch thick. It was not even close to being cooked correctly. And of course it was tuff and chewy. Not even close to being worth what they may get at regular prices. The salad bar lacked attention. Many of the offerings were pretty much empty. And 100% empty on my second trip. The hickory bourbon salmon did not look close to the picture flavor. The flavor was still good and for the most part there was no complaints. On server this place gets 5 stars. On food presentation and flavor I can only give it 3 stars at most. I do not recommend their steaks. read more

Look, I don't review a lot of chain restaurants, but this experience was really good! We walked in and the garden salad bar was STOCKED and very clean. Our server, Tristan, was friendly, and helpful. We ordered some of their healthier options - the hickory chicken and chicken kabobs with vegetables, and everythign was really tasty, and well priced. It was a very good experience. It was a Sunday afternoon around the holidays, and it wasn'y very busy, but I would still give credit to the staff that day for a clean and comfortable environment. read more

I'm on my way home from Hershey to DC and stopped here. The staff was so kind and friendly. The new manager Nicole was attentive and really took great care of me. The salad bar is still delicious after all this time! The jalapeños and some lettuce was wrinkled but everything else was fresh and delicious! The smash burger was hot, tasty and fresh. Stopped by tonight at the Ruby Tuesday in Gettysburg 7:15pm for dinner. Manager met us at the door and said 'we're only doing takeout tonight'. No hello or how are you doing. Just started with an attitude. We were disappointed because we had driven over 250 miles and we're hungry. He said that they didn't have enough staff and told us to log on to runytuesday.com to apply if we wanted to work. What was he doing? Stacking menus. Couldn't he have served us instead of being rude? We got here a little after 9pm and had a great experience with our server Zander. He was pleasant and polite and such a great ambassador of Ruby Tuesday's. I ordered the 8 ounce top sirloin medium rare with a baked potato. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. The baked potato was delicious and hot. My friend got the 12 ounce ribeye cooked medium and said it had great flavor. She also got their fries. We had a group of 3 and we all had their garden bar as well. My friend and I also got their brownie sundae explosion. The sundae was okay but nothing exciting. It was a huge brownie with chocolate and caramel sauce. It came with whipped cream and had a small scoop of ice cream. Zander stopped by as we were finishing our meal and we had a chance to talk with him for a few minutes. So I ordered online on Sunday, June 30. I went to go pick up the food and was told they ran out of chicken. When I asked for a refund they told me company policy states that they cannot refund me. I would have to dispute it with my bank. So, according to Gettysburg the local manager as well as the district manager, it is Ruby Tuesday's policy to not refund any money, even if you paid for something that they did not give you . When I asked why they didn't call me because it wasn't online order to tell me they were out of chicken. The managers response was oh we were "" slammed....Where I come from if you pay for something and they do not give it to you or if the run out . and you don't get a refund that is theft. Terrible experience!! Would definitely avoid!! To begin I ordered a club soda and was told they didn't have it. Then the waiter came back and said they did however when I tasted it the soda was completely flat. I ordered a Caesar Salad without the chicken. Our server then offered me the salad bar because it would be cheaper. I politely said no thank you, I would just like the salad. He then continued to pressure me into the salad bar and when I declined again his attitude completely changed. When I got the salad the lettuce was wilted and brown. No croutons. My sister ordered the crab cakes, their current special, and they were out of tartar sauce. The waiter brought the check very early in the meal and didn't offer dessert or to see if we wanted anything else. I sent my salad back because it was so unappetizing with the bad lettuce. He didn't apologize nor did the manager come to the table. They did take the meal off of the bill. Awful customer service. Will not return. Go somewhere else! read more

She was more interested in a man with a beard sitting near the window! She spent considerable time talking with him... we had our salad and had to ask for drinks plus my husband had to get up and retrieve ketchup from a nearby table! We arrived early in hopes of beating the crowd. We were seated right away. Our waitress, Abby, was the only person we saw on the floor except the host who sat us. She was doing it all. And doing excellent at it. Go easy on the help at any restaurant/bar/cluc/store etc that you visit...they must, but order of the governor, run on skeleton crews. Service was excellent!!! Ms. Chelsea greeted my buddy and I right upon arrival. We sat at the bar, having traveled from North Carolina, needless to say a little parched. The beer was fresh and cold, service excellent. Ribeyes were ordered and both were cooked to perfection, one rare and one medium rare. Chef Ralph was on the grill, and the ribeyes were top flight. Cleanliness was found throughout the restaurant, including the facilities. I will definitely return every time I go to Gettysburg. read more

Brown lettuce in 3 containers on the salad bar, no spinach, leaving only spring mix greens as a choice, ham that tasted and looked like bologna. Most everything else was decent. We stopped in after a long day of shopping. We were staying at the Gettysburg Resort campground and didn't feel like going back to cook! We arrived at 3:45pm and was seated quickly...party of four. Our waiter was Tristian and he was very polite but very slow, mostly because he was the bartender too. He brought out our drinks, took our order then we never saw him again. We had someone else bring out our food which was okay. My sister in law and I ordered chicken, her tenders and me a sandwich...with fries. Her tenders were so over cooked you couldn't cut them. My sandwich also was very over cooked. All our fries were Luke warm. We complained to the manager who brought out replacements. Again my sister in law's tenders were so over cooked. We complained to Tristian who we called over and he told us the tenders needed to be cooked that way so they cooked all the way through. REALLY! Well we are sitting here eating haven't been asked how the food is waiting for ketchup, haven't been asked if we need refills. Been waiting for atleast 15 minutes can do the walk out and pay but we aren't the type to do so. I understand maybe being low staffed but it's a common curiosity to check after food is brought out to you. Our waitress has a friend at the bar and has been servicing her drinks filled and everything. We used to love this place but it's a different atmosphere. I'll start by saying the staff was great, service wasn't good but they seemed like they care about what they do, likely understaffed. The issue is with the restaurant itself and the food. I've never seen a chain restaurant so worn down and dirty in my entire life, stunning in fact. There was a slight foul odor when we walked in, with that we should have left. We ordered a combo appetizer of microwaved mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers and spinach dip with chips. The spinach dip appeared to be several days old and possibly not refrigerated and had an odd smell, the chicken was hard to chew.....we ordered our food and didn't eat much of the appetizer...prior to getting our entrees I had to use the bathroom, that solidified the fact that we would not eat the food. The bathroom smelled atrocious and appeared to have not been cleaned properly in quite a long time. Entrees came, pretty much everything cooked in the microwave and as expected didn't look edible. I asked for the check so I could just pay the bill and go eat somewhere else. They didn't want to charge me because we didn't eat anything, nice gesture! The food was good. Just what you'd want from a Ruby Tuesday's. However, everything that could go,wrong with service did. We got our drinks fine, but no straws. We ordered an appetizer and waited a good twenty minutes before we were told it would be a few minutes more. We got the appetizer, but had to hunt down someone to get us plates. Our meals came out right on the heels of the appetizer. Sides were missing and my father ended up with a burger instead of the chicken he ordered. My husband ordered a second drink that the server forgot to get. Even the stall I used in the ladies room was out of toilet paper. I feel I should mention it was not busy. I decided to go with two stars because the food was good and the manager took off the price of the appetizer, my father's dinner, and gave my dad a free dish of ice cream which made him very happy. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. The service was terrible !!! The food was terrible !!! It was me my wife and two children. Once we "finally" got waited on our drinks took over thirty minutes to get to us. And they got one of them wrong!! Once we made our food order we watched people around us that came in after us order, get their food eat, pay and leave BEFORE WE EVEN GOT OUR ORDER!!!. They claim they were short handed. Then, we ordered two deserts to go, when we got back to our hotel we see....they fu..ed one of those up also. That experience cost us almost 150 dollars and over two hours of our time. I dont even want to touch on how germ ridden that salad bar had to be. After my family ordered their food, people that had come to the restaurant after us were already receiving their appetizers and main meals when we had yet to even get our appetizers. When our food and appetizers came out at the same time, the food was cold and had hair on it. The service was also pretty terrible. This was not worth paying sixty one dollars for. But to the credit of the manager, he gave us a 50% off discount and our appetizer for free. I really did not even want to give a one star. I am sooo disappointed in my dining experience today. We waited for a good ten minutes to have someone come to seat us. Only saw maybe 4 people working. The table was sticky and there was food and garbage on the floor. We waited to our waiter to even acknowledge us. We ordered drinks and food. The waiter (nothing against him...he was doing the best he could) had open sores on his hands that were bleeding and one of our drinks had blood smeared down the side. We got the salad bar with our meals...which I should have known better to look before paying $5.00 extra for it. The lettuce was slimy and brown, tomatoes were wrinkly, the beats were all dried up, coleslaw was wilted and slimy, the noodles with ham and peas had no dressing at all (I put a scoop of ranch dressing on them) hardly anything there or it was the bottom of the container. We had to find someone to get us silverware that was dirty and the one fork in mine was sticky. The food was cold, I got chicken tenders which were cooked so hard you could only eat the middle, my daughters Mac and cheese was just noodles-no cheese, my husbands burger was ok for a frozen reheated patty but the lettuce was completely brown and the onions were dried up. My baked potato was cold I couldn't get butter to melt on it. We even debated taking the uneaten food home to our barn cats. Unfortunately it was so awful I really wanted to walk out. So expensive for hardly any edible food. Maybe 4 or 5 people working in the entire restaurant...our waiter was working 6 tables and the bar. I ordered a medium rare steak, noting that I'd rather have it more toward rare than medium. It came out medium well, in a puddle of grease- which I think was from the grilled zucchini. So much grease that I cut up my steak and moved all the food to my appetizer plate. The pretzel appetizer was decent, but the warm cheese dip was so cold it was solid. Didn't cause a fuss because I didn't want to wait for a recook and eat later than my husband. Server was friendly enough, but not on top of making sure food looked good before hitting the table.
