Turns out it must be more profitable to rent the spaces to Condo overflow parking then people eating out Had to park across street only to sit at worse table as soon as you enter touching elbows with 6 strangers even though they were plenty of empty tables available. Waitress swept around table while I was eating which is a pet peeve to begin with. Asked her for a to go cup that she accidentally knocked the lid on the floor. She didn't pick it up or bring me another one. Normally we have a great experience. Hope this isn't the future of this restaurant. Food was great as usual. read more

Like usual, food was great, with exception of mine, which was the Migas. I ordered the Migas(love the chorizo), with a side of chicken sausage. When I got the plate, it was Migas made with Chicken Sausage, no chorizo. Highly disappointed the waitress didn't ask if that was correct. He spitting out specials and recommendation like a Shakespearean monologue. Do it, Peter! We started with some amazing apps, French toast bites and beignets with strawberry and blueberry compote! Y'all ain't ready for Ruby Slipper, this is breakfast on a different level. Peter right, you can get a breakfast sandwich anywhere. I had to put some of that fresh compote on my biscuit. Y'all, This stuff good. Bae got a smoked salmon omelette with pepper Jack grits and a biscuit. I got the Florentine omelette it had spinach, Swiss cheese and mushrooms and I added bacon. Hot honey chicken sandwich was a soggy mess Ketchup came out in a little sauce dish that was filled with dishwasher water. Gross. Women's bathroom was flooded and out of commission. I'm a restaurant general manager and business owner myself. This is not how you keep clientele. Food doesn't match the pictures shown online. Very disappointed in our experience. Food was fantastic the service could have been better. Our server seemed a bit lazy. She never checked our drinks and never removed used appetizer plates. I decided to stop here on my way to the beach. I live in New Orleans, so I frequent Ruby Slipper pretty often for brunch. Nothing about this experience blew me away. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing. The server was super nice, but other than that, I could've skipped the food and drinks. I tried their seasonal blueberry margarita, and honestly, it was too thick and syrupy. I had to pour water in it to thin it out and drink it. The fried green tomatoes didn't taste like much. As always this place is AMAZING & worth it the wait. Y'all, this place is so good, we will do here twice in one trip! We had a variety of Benedict's & biscuits with gravy. My favorite this time was the pulled pork Benedict. I really missed the corned beef hash one, that was favorite last summer. I hope they bring it back. Husband had all the seafood ones, he said it was as good as he remembered. Everything was so good. No one had any leftovers. Our table split the pineapple upside down pancakes as a breakfast dessert - SO GOOD! Melt in your mouth, deliciousness. If you're thinking about it, just do it! read more

My husband ordered the Threw Little Piggies omelet and said it was the best omelet he has EVER had. That says allot but something about how the butter was added at just the right time. Then the home made biscuit was sooooo good. It was fluffy yet dense. So YUM I had a special, Nashville hot Chicken Benedict and oh was it scrumptious, cooked perfectly and layered with hollandaise sauce and on the same home made biscuit that my hubby had with his omelet.. The seasonal beignets - leave off the whipped cream and add on the powdered sugar to make it cuisine and not chain. Whip cream is a flavor killer in my opinion. Nate (server) and Anna were awesome! Nice location overall and very clean appearance both inside and out. 3.5 Stars overall for the food, however, recommend this place over National chains as it has a great menu and not enough time nor stomach to try it all in one visit. I have been here before and I am pretty disappointed. We wasted half of our time here, which we could have used by sitting on the beach. We thought it would be a quick run-in and get some breakfast, but it took about 1 hour to even get a table for 3, and the food was not worth it. The food was not bad, but it was certainly not amazing. I don't think I would come here again, the Brocken egg around the corner is mush faster. I am editing this again because we just left the restaurant. We got an omelet and pancake and they charged us $44. The actual price was about $25. We came into the restaurant at 9:30 and we are now leaving at 11:50. We sat down at a table around 11:20. This was outrageous. read more

Oh my gosh this place was worth the wait! Thanks to yelp for letting us join the waitlist because if not we would've waited for awhile. We ended up sitting at the bar which was just fine. The staff was very friendly and we started out with mimosas. They were a little pricey but when you see the size it makes since! The peach was my favorite. My husband went with pecan banana waffles and basically scarfed it down in no time. I had eggs Benedict with grilled tomatoes and bacon and it was amazing. I didn't give it five stars because my eggs were way over cooked and it was too busy to try and send them back. Overall great experience! We will go again in Homewood! read more

Amazing breakfast. The Chicken St Charles is a great way to start the day. Everything is really good here. I really wish that they would open a location in Ga, Athens, Buford, Duluth would be a great general area. gotta say, our visit to the Ruby Slipper Cafe in Orange Beach was a blast! Right from the start, the hostess was super friendly and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Now, let's talk food. I went for the Eggs Benedict, and boy, was it amazing! The eggs were cooked just right, the hollandaise sauce was silky smooth, and I loved the choice of toppings. It was a breakfast dream come true! The only tiny thing we thought could be better was the mimosas. They were good, but a bit more champagne would've given them that extra kick. But hey, they were still pretty tasty. My family and I are already making plans to return to the Ruby Slipper Cafe. With great service, awesome Eggs Benedict, and a laid-back vibe, it's definitely a place we're excited to visit again! read more

We have eaten at Ruby Slipper multiple times since moving down 3 years ago. Food is amazing and they were able to accommodate my GF daughter in law and make her feel safe eating her brunch! Drinks are awesome and our adult sons are enjoyed dining here. Love the big roll up doors to let the summer air in! The place is big and accommodating to small and large groups equally. Ruby Slipper is a must do stop every time we go to Orange Beach. My wife can't resist the Bananas Foster French Toast. I don' know how many times we will have to go there before she discovers the other wonderful offerings there. I love the Spanish Omelet however living in the south do really enjoy the Southern Breakfast. My wife always steals my fried green tomato. The buttermilk biscuit reminds me off the ones my mother used to make. we eat there twice in the spring and twice in the fall. We never have the same server and we have always gotten great service. Love the rebuild story of Ruby Slipper. I'm always rooting for an underdog. Staffing for not adequate for when we went at breakfast. There seemed to be confusion as to who would wait on us, since we sat there for 10 minutes before anyone made a decision. Pig Candy was super sweet and delicious. Just wish there was more of a serving size. BBQ shrimp and grits were very good! I had no issues cleaning the whole bowl. Don't expect the Migas to be like you might get in Texas. My wife said something was "off" but couldn't put her finger on it. I think it might have been with the tortillas used in the migas.
