I had the worst pedicure here yesterday. Gone are the days you can just walk into a nail salon for a pedicure. I was the only customer on a Saturday, which should have been a red flag. The vibe was stale. There was a fishing show on tv. I already had gel on my toes, so the nail tech drilled it off instead of trying to soak them. Of course, 24 hours later my toe nail is already broken. The nail tech was super rough on my feet, putting extra effort into cutting off my cuticles on my big toes. I don't ever have ingrown nails or anything, so I'm still not sure why he cut my right big toe nail until it bled. The massage was so rough that my ankle is sore today. I paid $45 for the deluxe pedicure. I was informed that the gel was an additional $15. I paid and will never be back. read more

My new Nail Spot!! Deedee and her hubby Ron took over Ruby Nail Spa recently and it's a completely new place!!! Ron did an amazing job on my nails, these are my favorite set I've ever gotten!! Close attention to detail!! His wife Deedee was super sweet, really helpful picking out color and design! I've had trouble finding a good nail spot in my area that will do designs but bring them a picture and they will make It happen!! I originally went it for a pedi but could not pass up trying out there tips! But OMG Tony hands down I don't want a pedicure from anyone else ever again!! He actually gives you a foot massage and you can tell he cares about what he is doing !! Gentle but firm on the pressure points!! I cannot wait to try out their new pedicure chairs that they are getting tomorrow, on my next trip!!! So happy they came to my area!! I will definitely be sending anyone I know their way! read more

The new manager is a little rude. I asked for a French tip design. I simply said can I get it more rounded out on the nail instead of just on the tip of my nails. He said it's $15 extra!!! Most of these reviews are based on the previous 2 managements (who were wonderful!) The new management took over Aug 2022, so you should read most recent reviews only. I had been coming to this shop for years, but it is under new management and is not what it used to be. The first time I went after the change in management, the tech was rough, rushed, and split my skin with the drill. I still came back because I made an appointment with the only tech I knew from the previous management. They did not honor my appointment and she had just started on another customer, so I was going to have to wait. I had a flight that evening and decided to leave. I will NOT be returning. Then, because I left a bad review on Google, the owner responds to the review saying I was late. So not only is their customer service bad, they are liars!! read more

This is my second visit to Ruby Nail. I was looking for a place near my gym one Saturday morning in August that would be convenient and able to accept walk-ins. I was pleased with the manicure and gel pedicure ($50 before tip). My manicure lasted for 10 days without one chip while I was at the beach. I decided to return again for a much needed gel pedicure this past Wednesday. The gel pedicure was again $40 and this is less than any nail salon I have visited in Charlotte or elsewhere in NC. The same man did the gel pedi who did it on the previous visit. He gives a great foot massage and pays attention to details. I noticed others have not been pleased with their visits at Ruby Nail but I am very pleased with mine. I will continue to be a customer at Ruby Nail as it has been a great find. read more

I have the best time when I go to Ruby Nail Spa! They're always so attentive! I'm greeted when I walk in, they offer refreshments and a super relaxing environment. So I generally don't like to give a bad review, in most cases I won't say anything at all...Though I'm learning both bad and good reviews are needed in most cases... Throughout the years I've visited this salon as the nail techs have changed and unfortunately it was my nail techs whom I really liked that left the business. Recently, I visited and specifically requested Tammy (as she was recommended). She assisted me with a positive attitude and was very pleasant. However, the pedicure was TRASH...She rushed through the entire process. I don't believe the pedicure water basin was full of water before she was telling me that I was done...I didn't argue the issue as the polish wasn't covering my entire nail, and there was some dry cuticle left around my toenails. I had other plans lined up for my day and didn't really have the time to challenge the terrible job. I paid and left... Fast forward, I was contacted by someone again telling me that a nail tech that I (once) loved had returned. So I jumped out of bed, made an appt, and rushed off to get my pedicure. Well, maybe they were advised they were spending too long on pedicures; he too rushed through the process. My polish was once again painted HORRIBLY. Only this time I brought it to Tom's attention that I was not satisfied as there were several nails that were half painted and/or there was more polish left on the sides of my toes (instead of on the actual toenail where it should have been). Instead of him taking the polish off and redoing those nails, he painted on top of the three layers of nail polish making it extremely THICK; which would of course take longer to dry. Again, I didn't say much (now I wish I had), but I let him do his thing, yet in my head telling myself "THERE WILL NOT BE ANOTHER CHANCE FOR THEM TO MESS UP!" So I sat under the nail dryer for an additional 20 mins...Then I left and went to have my car cleaned. While waiting I looked down and the polish was not only smeared but also seems to look as though it was melting. I return and requested that the polish be completely removed and repainted. I was addressed by the STAFF with an attitude and told to wait one hour or possibly longer or come back at 6pm; all after initially being at the shop since 10:45am. I showed them how lumpy and uneven the polish was and they continuously told me it was not. I had already paid so I didn't want to waste money and just leave, otherwise I'm sure they would have fixed it on the spot. So of course I agreed to wait the hour because I had already paid with my hard earned money...For the life of me I don't understand how someone catches an attitude when you are paying them for a service...(BUT THEY DID). It's not like the pedicure was free. I'm sure they wouldn't want to pay for a service and not be provided with quality and great customer service. I give them 2 stars for Tammy's pleasant attitude, but other than that they will never see my face or get another dime from me. What these nail techs need to understand is, THEY ARE BEING PAID FOR QUALITY, not for their nasty @$$ attitudes. #DONOTPATRONIZE...And If you do, don't say I didn't warn you. The staff here all know what they're doing. If you want coffin , done so well. Square? Perfect sharp corners. Stiletto ? So sharp they could cut you. Kim is by far my favorite she always does a great job. I've been coming here for two years and my nails look great every time. No complaints. Reserve a spot ahead of time too cause it gets crazy crowded, but it's worth the wait. read more

It is the cleanest one I have seen and does not have the chemical smell that most of them have. When I come here I can really relax and sometimes take a little cat nap during my pedicure! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE! I was a regular customer at this spa and found there was only one staff member that could do SNS nails. I discovered the hard way that despite how long of a customer I have been that once they get your money they could care less about providing you good (not excellent) customer service. I go there for service, but my usual nail tech is on vacation so I was told by the owner that his replacement was just as good if not better. Today marks one week since I got my nails done and I had one repaired already and two more that cracked this morning! When I got my repair for the 1st nail that cracked Kim charged me $5 despite it had only been 4 days since I originally got my nails done. I expressed how upset I was that it hasn't been a week and I already have a broken nail, but Kim and her staff ignored my concern. I don't believe in giving your money to people that won't correct their mistakes... especially if you are going to charge me for YOUR mistake. read more

Actually the pedicure was fine. Nothing spectacular, just a run of the mill, basic pedicure. The reason I will not be returning is when I got up from the chair to make my way to the "drying station", Ben asked me why I was walking like a penguin. Well, reason # 1 My toe nails were wet and I had on those oversized slippers. Reason # 2 I have a handicap that causes me to walk differently than I used to. I was trying to make it to the drying station without tripping. I have had manicures and pedicures there. I usually go every two weeks or so for a treat. The employees there are very nice and knowledgeable about acupressure and dry skin. All you have to do is ask them. My fingernails are stronger as a result from the manicures and have received comments from friends and colleagues at work on how great they look. They are big on making sure the cuticles are cut back because usually you won't be back for a couple of weeks. The place is very clean. Try the deluxe pedicure which includes a wonderful paraffin wax for feet. read more

I decided to check out this nail salon since I live close by. I've visited 3 times and I had only one positive experience and that was the first visit. The first visit was great and I had no issues. The second visit was terrible and the nail technician ruined the shape of my nail and on top of that the nail polish was very old and took forever to dry. I stayed over 30 minutes under the blacklight/fan, tapped the nails, and felt I was good to go. I go out to my car and realize, that two nails polish messed up and went back in. They repainted both nails but made me leave immediately because they were closing yet working on two other ladies nails. I wanted to give them another chance, so I went back a third time, the lady ruined the shape of my nails (I had them fixed visiting another nail salon). All of my nails look uneven. This nail salon is very vibey and on edge. They are rough with moving your hands around and I feel uncomfortable being there. Hopefully your experience was better than mine but I do not recommend this nail salon. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever received at a nail salon. First off I felt disrespected soon as I walked in. All the employees start talking in foreign language. As they were talking in foreign language they were staring and laughing. It made me feel very uncomfortable. So I ask just to get my nails polished. As I set in the chair the nail technician continued talking in foreign language with other workers while giggling and laughing. I just felt like they were laughing at me. Then on top of that the nail technician was rough with my hands. I felt like she was forcing my hands. Then as she was painting my nails she had spots of nail polish on my finger tips and not my nails. I ask her to clean it up and she rolled her eyes. Then she start speaking a foreign language to others employees in a angry tone. The technician was very unprofessional and rude. The other employees also made me feel uncomfortable. I will not be returning to this establishment. I would like to start off by saying that I have been coming to this nail salon on a regular bases for months. I was pleased with the quality of service and the employees always seemed nice. There is a diverse customer base ranging from women to men all different demographics. Most of the customers are black females. On Saturday 11/07/15 after a busy day I decided to pick up some Chinese for dinner at the restaurant beside this nail salon. I consider myself a pretty classy lady and carry myself as such. As I walked past this nail salon to get to the restaurant there was a male leaving the business for the day. (I recognized him as an employee) He looked in my direction with such a look of horror and fear I thought there was someone behind me with a ski mask and a knife. I even turned around and there was no one directly behind me so I knew he was afraid of me. I had never had anyone fear me but I brushed it off. On Friday 11/13/15 after work went to the same Chinese restaurant. The same employee just so happened to be closing the nail salon as I walked past to get to the restaurant. He looked at me with the same look of fear as if I was some thug. This time was even worse. As he walked forward he continued to look back at me as if I was going to rob him of all his worldly possessions. I was furious and offended. How can you be all smiles when you take my money inside of the shop yet treat me like public enemy 1# afterwards? Most of their customer base looks like me. Even though my feelings were extremely hurt I'm glad this happened. It's a learning opportunity for me. Moving forward I will be more careful about businesses I choose to do business with. I shouldn't be profiled or stereotyped when spending my hard earned dollars. Regardless of your background when you choose to support a business make sure that you are respected and not treated like just another buck. Never settle. I know it was a mouth full.
