After a few tries I got an appt with Mica! Shes a GEM! I got builder gel nails. and she did an awesome job. It's not a huge place but the vibe is friendly. I think I've found my new nail place. The ONLY drawback is that it's just street parking. read more

People were super nice and friendly. They accommodated me for a walk in appointment later on in the day. The manicure was a bit more expensive than what I typically pay but the manicurist was skilled and very knowledgeable. The place felt very welcoming and absolutely clean! read more

The best place for nail art in Charlotte! First of all, the ambiance is amazing, everything in there is so cute! They play music and all nail techs are so nice!! They all have conversations with each other and all the clients. It is by appointment, I don't think they take walk ins. They book out so I always book 2 appointments at a time and I've never had a problem getting a day/time I want when booking 3-4 weeks out. You can book there or you can text them which I love. I always see Gabby who is amazing! I show her a picture of what I want and she is always able to do it and makes sure to ask my opinion if something needs to be changed. I would trust anyone there though. They all seem amazing. I have seen them execute some very detailed nail art amazingly. She always takes her time and does a thorough job. I've rarely had my nails chip in between appointments and I go between 2-4 weeks apart. It is priced comparably for nail art (I typically pay around $65 for a manicure and nail art) they have a teacher discount, too! I've only been for a manicure but they also do pedicures and eyebrows/lashes. I don't live close anymore but i will always travel to come here, I always get so many compliments on my nails!! read more

I've been coming to Cosmic for 3 years and cannot speak highly enough and the staff and atmosphere that is created during every manicure/pedicure. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by the most welcoming smile by Nada, who remembers all the details and makes you feel seen & welcomed. I've experienced a few nail technicians (who are all amazing) with the quality of each artist's work being absolutely exceptional. The owner, Julie, provides excellent support to ensure everyone's quality is to the best standards. However, Cristy's work(seen in pictures) is beyond amazing. After 3 years with her, I cannot say enough about the experience she provides for each manicure. She is extremely detailed oriented - from her work to how she interacts personally, she is the reason my nails & mood are always on point. Let me be clear: when I pay premium prices, I expect premium work. I should never feel like I've received less than what I paid for with my hard-earned money. Initially, I excused Cristy's first two instances of subpar work because I understood it was the end of the day and she was likely ready to go home. She had done my nails before, and her work was exceptional, with no issues. However, during my next appointment, I felt that Cristy, who clearly had an attitude, preferred to take the easy route and rushed through my nail service just to finish quickly again. As a paying customer, I deserve the same level of service as everyone else who comes into Cosmic Nail! After paying $100, I was disappointed to see that her work reflected her lack of interest in providing the quality service I expected. As a result, I cannot see myself returning, and I didn't feel it was necessary to ask for a fix. I had already wasted enough of my time and didn't want to upset her by letting her next clients experience the subpar service I had just received! While I don't expect the owner of Cosmic Nails to investigate what happened or prioritize her business over friendships she has within the salon, I feel it's important to share my experience. I will take my money and business elsewhere. There are plenty of nail salons in CLT that can provide the quality of work I desire, and once I find one, I will update my review and guide others in the right direction! read more

I came here for the first time today and had the best experience I've had at any nail salon in Charlotte and I've lived here for 18 years. I got a gel pedicure, an acrylic set w nail art, and a brow tint & wax. Everyone was so friendly and the prices were super reasonable. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! Julie and her whole team are FANTASTIC! I feel 1000% comfortable making an appointment with anyone there, knowing that I'll leave satisfied. They are clean and the salon is beautiful. They take their time, and aren't rushing to keep filling their chairs. I've shown them some pretty difficult nail art designs, and each time, they exceed my expectations. I've referred over 7 coworkers here, and they make the drive over from Gastonia every few weeks to get their nails done here. Please like this review so others can be WARNED not to come here. If you see this, please save your money and go to ANY other salon in south end or uptown. They will put your card on file, and the second you are late, or you can't make an appointment for things outside of your control, or literally ANYTHING happens, they will charge your account FULL price, so say goodbye to your money!!!! They will not work with you, listen to you, hear where you are coming from, they just charge it and never look back. The owner is extremely entitled, which explains why the employees there are all miserable. They make you wait ALL the time to start your appointment. I have waited 30+ min before to be assisted, but never said anything. But the second I make a mistake, my money is TAKEN. no apologies. DONT COME HERE!!!! read more

LOVED this nail salon! The people working were so so nice! Asked me how I heard about them and were so funny. They have plastic dividers in between you and the manicurist and between you and the person next to you. They do AMAZING nail art. They can literally do anything. Booking can be done online which is also super convenient. A gel manicure is $35 which is pretty standard in Charlotte. It was $50 for me to get gel, tips, and nail art. Cristy did my gel nails and then the owner did the cow print! The location here is wrong though, they are on Camden road right next to Girl Tribe. read more

The owner Julie hires the best talent and trains them personally to ensure top quality services! I get compliments on my nails all the time and refer all my friends here. I was in Friday 3/10/23 and by Sunday 3/12/23, my nails looked as if they were over a week old. I contacted the nail tech via IG and this was her response "So I spoke with the owner and showed her your picture. She said that this is normal grow out for any new set service that did not include a manicure. In the beginning you're going to notice a much faster grow out as well. The longer you wear them, the slower your nails will grow." I've had this service done more times than I can count and I've never experienced this. I wanted to support a woman owned business, in return I received no accountability or initiative to make things right, very disappointing first experience with this establishment. I would not recommend their Gel X services, please save your money. read more

Making an appointment was easy, I hadn't been before so I was fine with any nail tech. You can tell each tech takes the time to give each client what they want when you're in the salon. The place felt clean and relaxing. Kimmy was great, took care of my nails, asked how they looked periodically. And the best part- I had my gel manicure on for FOUR WEEKS, no chips at all. These nails were not even close to what I wanted. I wanted all white with stripes like the picture below. She already was running late and had another customer so I didn't feel like I could have her fix them. They were clumpy and rough and after less than a week they have all fallen off. I called and said I wasn't happy, they told me they would get me in with a master nail tech vs the one I had to remedy it. They made the appointment and then I got an email day of the appointment saying it was changed back to the same person who messed them up/didn't know what she was doing in the meantime. Horrible communication on their part with one person saying they'd fix it and then another saying no. They did end up refunding me but probably one of the worst manicure experiences I have had in a long long time. read more

I am new to the Charlotte area. I was looking for a nail salon and someone recommended Cosmic Nails. I made my first appointment, and overall the service was ok. The facility was clean, staff was friendly, a bit unprofessional, but I get it, it's a young, hip environment with a bunch of young adults, still in development stage. I am not worried about that, but the HR in me noticed it. I made my second appointment on my way out, without telling the receptionist what I was getting down on my next visit. I usually don't know what I am getting, until I get to a salon. I had a work emergency and couldn't make it. I called to rescheduled, and was told I could not, and that there is a 24/hr cancellation policy. I did not see the policy written anywhere, nor was it told or presented to me at any point in time. Long story short, they decided to charged me a no- show fee. I asked the person at the desk, what I was I been charged for, it turns out they charged me $80 for service that was not provided. The service would be base on my previous visit. The finished product was ok, nothing spectacular. They could never come near to the nail technicians in NY or NJ. I will never return to that salon again and I will tell anyone and everyone I know to stay away!!! read more

I received a gel manicure here. I have never gotten a gel manicure and had it chip in less than a week, but unfortunately one of my nails chipped shortly after getting them done. The girl that did my nails seemed to be newer and inexperienced. Really wanted to like this place due to the ease of booking online and the location, but I would not pay to get mine done here again since it chipped. read more

Do not waste your money. I spent a decent amount in a set of GelX which I'm happy to spend bc they last long and look great. This was the WORST set I've ever had. I can't believe I spent money on nails that fell off within 2 days. They used the smallest dot of gel fixative to hold the nail on and anyone who's had gelx knows that's not how it works. What a waste. Go anywhere else. read more

I've been going here for almost a year and was a very loyal customer. Showed up early/on time and consistently came every 3 weeks. NEVER missed an appointment - I plan my life to a T. One Friday I was caught up with stressful work and my appointment slipped my mind. This is extremely out of the norm for me to No-Show a visit and I felt terrible. I immediately called them stating I was so sorry and would love to reschedule, the lady I spoke with stated she would text me some dates (never happened) so I reached out to my tech directly and she got me rescheduled for the upcoming Wednesday. Then come to find out they charged me a No-Show fee which I wasn't even told on the phone about! I am COMPLETELY understanding when it comes to No-Shows but they do not have a "first time exception" even for someone who is an extremely loyal customer. I voiced this very kindly to the reception desk who spoke with Julie THE OWNER and she told me I can take my business to their "friends" at Varnish Lanes. So incredibly rude. They do incredible work but have a huge ego and apparently couldn't care less about their customers loyalty. Needless to say I cancelled my future appointments that had been booked for a few months. read more

During my first visit, I requested a design the nail tech said she could do, but ultimately could not, so I settled for a simpler design and paid without issue. For my fill-in appointment, I arrived on time for my 5:30 PM appointment, but my service did not begin until 6:00 PM. I showed the same nail tech the design I wanted, and she confirmed she could do it. Unfortunately, she struggled throughout the service, repeatedly removing and restarting the design. By the time the salon was closing, my nails were still not finished. After nearly two hours, around 7:45 PM, I politely asked for the design to be removed and a plain polish applied instead. I did not raise my voice or cause a scene, and I even apologized for the tech having to stay past closing. I paid in full and left calmly, although I was unhappy with the service. The following morning, I received a text from someone claiming to be a manager, stating that I was BANNED from the salon like I'm some kind of criminal. I found this unprofessional and disappointing. At no point was I rude or disrespectful. I was patient, communicative, and understanding, even when the service could not be completed as agreed. I would have appreciated an apology or accountability from an incompetent nail tech rather than being dismissed for calmly expressing dissatisfaction with a service that was not delivered as promised. What I received instead was deflection and lazy management. Sounds like a lawsuit for discrimination. Be blessed.

I have a picture of my badge, a picture of me WINNING AN AWARD as a nurse, and my email account with my employer. The person at the front desk (owner or manager) was very rude and literally made me GO HOME TO GET MY BADGE, and the way she told me I would have to do this was rude and condescending. That is obviously not a discount to make their business friendly to nurses, as most nurses do not have their badge on them at all times. I will not go back here nor would I recommend any of my colleagues to come here. It was quite a let down. I expect better service especially from a place that pretends to care about nurses and they hard work that we do.

Now charging extra for gel and French tips is already crazy; but $45 extra for this design is wild! I've had way more elaborate nails that I didn't pay this much for. I will come back to Cachet, but I know going forward I won't be getting French tips or designs. Beware of the many up charges!

Today I arrived at 10:03am, and by the time I worked my way up to the counter, at 10:10 am I was told I would need to come back in an hour to see Lana since she was already with a client. This is common and fine, especially if you have a preferred tech. So, I was more than happy to return. I returned under an hour later at 11:05am and was told she was already with someone else and I mentioned I was back in less than an hour later. That's when the receptionist could have cared less. She stated she didn't tell me that, and that it was someone else, which it was. The lack of communication and care clearly relayed we don't want your business, or you can just keep trying. The dismissive attitude was clear. So, time to move on. What a shame. I have come here for years and now none of that matters.

I thought that was odd - why not pay as you go? - but she told me that is how she does business and she assured me that if my 91 year old uncle died, she would refund the money fully for appointments not used. Then in September 2023 she sent an email about scheduling for 2024 and I had to schedule immediately (and pay) for the next year because she said that appointments were almost full. My then 92 year old uncle only wanted every other month appointments so I paid $620 for 2024. Unfortunately, my uncle died before using his 2024 appointments. Although Melissa asked me to give her two months for a refund, which I did, and she sent me a photo of the refund precessing a month ago - still no refund and only long, dramatic diatribes instead from her. This was my experience and I would not recommend this company and would not want other customers to fight for refunds and deal with all of this nonsense. I believe she just got back from a month long vacation which makes it worse. I hope this helps others who may be thinking of using her services.
