Gel X, almond shaped, with pretty bows, plaid, gold flakes, neutrals, browns and beige set!
Christina T.

Needed to get my nails done for a girls trip to NYC and heard good things about Olive Nails Boutique. From the beginning to the end, Hanh made me feel so at ease; this was a whole experience. I was offered a nice beverage, and then I showed her a simple, kinda basic photo from Pinterest of what I liked. Hanh wanted a challenge though, she said " no tell me what you really want ". LOL I love her sass. She scrolled through my Pinterest saves and found a more complex design and said she could do it-- and let me tell you SHE TOPPED IT. Are you kidding me LOOK at the attention to detail. Even during the appointment she kept checking in to see if I liked what I saw. When I hesitated on the shape, she just read my mind and knew I wanted the almond shape to be less sharp and immediately fixed it. I felt so comfortable telling her what I liked and didn't like because it felt like a safe space. Hanh just knows what looks good, I didn't have to think twice. Book with Hanh, trust, you'll be in for a treat. Girl is funny and will tell you her honest opinions! And she's so right. Anyways 11/10 would go again.

Went back and now I know this is the only place I'm going to in Charlotte. Pooh was excellent and friendly! I got a gel polish manicure over my real nails. Pooh had to remove my press-ons which were glued down first. We talked about heartfelt issues like we were old friends catching up. I really love how QUIET the salon is. My hands were holiday ready and more importantly, TV ready because I was making art on WBTV the next morning!!! I love Pooh because understood how they needed to look in case they zoom in on my hands-which they did-so A++! No ashy cuticles for me! LOVE POOH!

I was in town from Greensboro and my friend recommend this nail place. I scheduled an appt 2 weeks in advance to ensure I could get it as we'll as notify them I had dip on from previous place. I showed up at my appt time and they didn't start working on my hands for 25 minutes. I sat for another 30 minutes removing my other sns and then another 30 minutes before I walked out. I had a prior appt for a dress fitting I couldn't miss. I let them know I would return after. when I returned it took another 1.5 hrs to get my nails done and I am not satisfied at all! The tip they put on my pinky isn't even straight (see picture for reference)The gel top coat was just thrown on my nails. I will say the positive is the actual dip is really good but then was ruined when gel was placed on. I wouldn't recommend going this place.

Completely broke off after picking up a food container

I went in on a Saturday afternoon to get my nails done and 4 days later two of them came off. They apparently have a no refund policy and it's 'posted' all over their facility. I personally didn't see any and I don't think people are looking all around for signage. There was also no communication from employees. I called for a partial refund but they refused, said I can come in and fix them but I didn't want to because I had a feeling the others would break off. The owner argued with me and compared their terrible nail work with a car analogy and that they can't guarantee anything which I understand. But my nails shouldn't be falling off of my non dominant hand in 3-4 days. I don't know about you guys but paying $60-$80 for your nails to fall off in 3-4 days is not worth the visit to this place. I've had nails of for over a month and picking up heavy things and being close to damaging my nails and sometimes they never even come off. If you can't put on someone's false nails securely and be confident that without extraneous pressure on the nails that it won't come off then you shouldn't be running a nail salon. I came from chicago and have NEVER had this issue and I went to a place that was rated 2 stars and got the best service. Please beware before coming here. Reply to business : I appreciated the effort to serve me while I was a customer there; that's why I tipped and thanked you for your service. I have every right to ask for a refund when my nails fall off after 4 days. I don't have to give your salon a second chance; that is my right as a consumer. If you REALLY wanted to save a customer and have me come back again to give you a second chance. You wouldn't have argued with me on the phone for 10 minutes, comparing my nails to an auto shop customer. Your staff was really nice and helpful and so were you, but it doesn't mean I need to refrain from asking for my money back. In this case you should have stuck by your product and services by offering the refund and asking me to come in to get it fixed. That's how a business is supposed to treat their customers, not try to turn blame on them because they made a decision to not come in and replace broken nails. If my nails fell off this easily, why would you think I would want to come in? I have worked in hospitality, ran hotels and restaurants; and I know how to treat a customer and unfortunately your establishment failed to do so. I would work on better communication with your customers to ensure they understand the policies because you're assuming they check your website and that they look all around your salon for that information specifically. Which if you really knew how customers think, you'd know that people simply come in to do their nails. Not read your policies. Have a good one.

08/20/19 Update: I can't get over this place!! I always encourage my friends and family to come here. This is hands down the best nail salon I've been to in Charlotte. Unfortunately Michael wasn't in today to do acrylics for me; however, Johnny came to save the day. Johnny was super sweet and took his time with my SNS dip nails. This was my first time and it came out SO good. Thanks again Johnny & Chrissy. I'll definitely be coming back with more friends. :) I've finally found a spot to get my nails done!! I was walked through where and what to pick for gel nails. They also suggested other ideas I wouldn't have thought of.The owner Michael did my full set in a reasonable time. It was nice to speak to Michael & Mary about our culture. They felt like family as we carried a conversation. I chose a basic cut white nails. Love it!

Such a messy, careless removal

EDIT: In response to the owner's comment, let me be crystal clear; I did not in any way, shape, or form decline the rest of the removal services. That is an absolute fallacy. The nail tech did a sloppy job.....period. I stand by my one start rating and I would downgrade it to zero stars if possible. God. This place is so awful. I should have paid more attention to all of the negative reviews. I had an SNS manicure that needed to be removed and I wanted a manicure without polish. Easy-peasy....or so I thought. I arrived around 6:38 or so to check in. I initially wanted to replace the SNS with gel but she said they only do acrylic so I agreed. Then she tells me that acrylics are only by appointment because there's only one person that does them. Are you kidding me??? That is such a standard, basic service. I should have walked out right then. I then say just a removal with a no polish mani. We walk back and I get to soaking. Mid-way through my soak off, the ladies switch places. Ok, fine. Next thing I know the woman is telling me that her manager said it's too ate, they're about to close, and I can't get a manicure....just the removal. I'm super annoyed at this point but fine, whatever. Some other girls comes over and reiterates the same thing. I'm like, whatever, it's fine. I already know at that moment that I'll never come back. The worst part is that I was totally agreeable but these people had nothing but attitude, offered zero apologies or anything. They clearly don't care about attracting new business. As if that wasn't bad enough, the woman did an AWFUL job on my removal. She left some sort of glue or melted SNS product all over my hands plus she didn't even completely remove the SNS which I pointed out to her TWICE. That these people would have such bad attitudes and yet not even be able to properly manage the most basic of services is mind-boggling. This is a terrible nail salon with really bad customer service. There are plenty of other nail salons in Plaza Midwood and Charlotte in general, don't waste your money here.

I usually book through ClassPass, which makes it an amazing deal, but honestly, I'd come here anyway because the experience is just that good. This time, I had Whitney as my nail tech and she was wonderful. She took her time, was super gentle, and gave me an incredible foot and leg massage--probably the best I've had at a nail salon. Something I really appreciated (and this might sound weird to some) is that Whitney was very quiet. I actually didn't feel like being social during my appointment, and she let me enjoy the service in peace without any pressure to chat. That made the whole experience even more relaxing. The salon itself is always spotless, calm, and quiet. I've never been when it felt busy or chaotic, which makes it feel like a little escape. Between the cleanliness, the vibe, and Whitney's great work, I'll definitely be back again.

On a positive note, something happened on the morning of my appointment that caused me to stop removing my own gel polish. I called & was able to push my appointment time back and add polish removal to my service. I requested polish removal, manicure, Dazzle dry, & a design. Right before the polish removal started, I informed the nail tech that there was only gel polish on my nails. The gel polish was a little stubborn during removal. Imo, the polish just needed to be filed down a little more. The nail tech made the assumption that I had hard gel on my nails. I didn't. She then put a stronger polish removal that was applied the same way nail polish is applied. I had started removing some of my polish before the appt. My left pinky had the least amount of polish, but the same amount of remover was applied to that finger as was applied to fingers with more polish, and she started with my right hand. We'd discussed possibly switching to a gel mani. By the time she made it to my left hand, she was mentioning how my fingers were red, not considering that I'd mentioned the tingling. She thought it was best to stay with Dazzle Dry; not a problem. By the time we were towards the end of polish application, she mentioned that the designs used with Dazzle Dry would be different than the regular designs. I still had nail art as part of my requested service. She decided that my polish color choice didn't need a design. I was given the nail files & lotion used during my appointment. I'm still looking for a new nail salon, unfortunately. After this $80 appointment, I didn't believe Frenchies would be my new nail salon.

During my first visit, I requested a design the nail tech said she could do, but ultimately could not, so I settled for a simpler design and paid without issue. For my fill-in appointment, I arrived on time for my 5:30 PM appointment, but my service did not begin until 6:00 PM. I showed the same nail tech the design I wanted, and she confirmed she could do it. Unfortunately, she struggled throughout the service, repeatedly removing and restarting the design. By the time the salon was closing, my nails were still not finished. After nearly two hours, around 7:45 PM, I politely asked for the design to be removed and a plain polish applied instead. I did not raise my voice or cause a scene, and I even apologized for the tech having to stay past closing. I paid in full and left calmly, although I was unhappy with the service. The following morning, I received a text from someone claiming to be a manager, stating that I was BANNED from the salon like I'm some kind of criminal. I found this unprofessional and disappointing. At no point was I rude or disrespectful. I was patient, communicative, and understanding, even when the service could not be completed as agreed. I would have appreciated an apology or accountability from an incompetent nail tech rather than being dismissed for calmly expressing dissatisfaction with a service that was not delivered as promised. What I received instead was deflection and lazy management. Sounds like a lawsuit for discrimination. Be blessed.
