One of the best in the business - I don't get my nails done consistently, but whenever I do I always want to come here. The gel manicures last about 3 weeks which is great by most standards. The service is nice with them always offering a drink when I first arrive. The manicurists are always very particular and detailed. I always ask for a third coat of nail polish because it looks better and they always oblige. The pedicure chairs are really comfortable. The salon is clean and hygienic which is really important to me. I'm removing one star because I feel like they've cut back on gel polish colors since a ton of people now get SNS or liquid gel. read more

If they will do it to us, they will do it to you. The first time I got my nails done here, I loved it. If my second visit had gone the same way, it would have been a five star review, no question. But the second was a nightmare and I cried in the car after I left. My finger bled, my nails are far shorter than I asked for, I got mocked for asking for a simple and reasonable accommodation for a disability, and I had to get a whole new tech just to not have more of my nails crooked and lumpy than not. They don't even have real dryers for regular nail polish. I was humiliated, my nails look awful, and if I had been brave enough to really stand up for myself, I would have refused to pay. Then when I posted an honest review on Instagram, someone from the salon called me a liar, pretended I hadn't even told them about the disability, told me all I had was a bad attitude, and said there was nothing wrong with nails that don't even point the same direction as the fingers they are attached to. read more

I'm only selecting one star because it was required to write the post. First off let me start by saying I've been a loyal customer since 2014 when Jenny was so kind and helpful AT THE TIME to fix my nails that another salon had completely done a horrific job. Over the years it's been alright until the recent few years where I noticed service has declined and the employee turnover rate has sky rocketed! my recent spa pedicure done by her dad was TERRIBLE!!! He did a half ass job and was out of the strawberries and champagne scented scrub. I had to ask him several times to make my nails even. Then the gel polish machine Jenny uses is OLD and completely changed the barbie pink gel polish color to an ugly purple. I had to come back to have them fix it and spend even more time with the end result being just merely okay. My daughter got the white vital gel with tips set for her birthday beach trip and literally within days they were popping off. Jenny tends to gossip about customers to us when we sit to get our nails done which I find is unprofessional. Then we go back for a fill-in only for my daughter because I was already totally over this place. Jenny didn't even put tips back on the two nails that popped off and tried to charge me an extra $5 for supposedly fixing them when they were not even the same length as the tips on my daughters nails. (I refused and did not pay that) Within a week four of her nails popped off and it was NOT from playing volleyball as Jenny may try to claim because my daughter does not play again until the fall so there is no excuse for her nails to just be popping off while she is on summer break not even playing sports. I'm including a photo of her nails here. I will post on facebook as well. I've already told a TON of people to boycott this place. I called Jenny to demand that she reimburse me for at least half since she did a horrible job and she caught an attitude and I heard her talking to her customer about me and trying to have her customer in my business. I would NEVER recommend this place and she was even trying to tell her customer that I've only been coming for a year and a half when clearly I have been going there for eight years. She is a JOKE and I told her since she seems to be so hard up for money I would just donate the last payment to her even though it was a shitty as job and taking my and my daughters business to Bamboo Nail spa in Indian Trail!!! First time I went -- i got sns with tip and they all bubbled up and popped off, I came back 2 days later to fix 2 nails and they couldn't match the color so I had 2 different color nails (this is fine i understand you cant find a match) the lady told me sns with tip can bubble so she doesnt recommend it but ive done it for 2 years now at different salons and it has never happened Second time i went -- when i had to fix the 2 nails that popped off I waited over an hour to fix 2 nails after I was told a 30 minute wait. Third time i went -- i did a deluxe pedicure with gel polish, the actual pedicure itself was great! But the polish started chipping 3 days later!!!! I paid $20 extra for this and feel like it was a waste of money. Fourth time I went -- i did just sns on my regular nail no tip... and within a week it is chipping.. I showed her a photo of the exact set I wanted & I don't know if she just didn't want to do it or if she didn't know how. She nicked me with the drill and then asked if she caught my skin, I said yes, and she very sarcastically said "sorry", and continued. I don't think I'll be coming back to this salon. I switched to Sky Nail from my regular salon because it was so much more affordable and their work looks decent on their instagram. But she was so unprofessional & I've never been so upset while getting my nails done. I was so frustrated I couldn't help but cry. You get what you pay for. Cheap prices, rude tech. Horrible! If you do take a chance on this location, avoid Rita at all cost. Her technique is subpar and her attitude is worst. I came to treat myself and left regretting it the experience. When trying to address my concerns of my nails lifting after 5 days, she yelled, "I don't know what you want me to do!" This is the quality of her work. Without the lifting, its a sloppy and lumpy finish. Don't waste your time or money. SHE IS VERY NEGATIVE AND UNNECESSARILY ABRASIVE TO HER CUSTOMERS. AVOID HER. The manager's response is inaccurate. Called before for an appointment and they gave me one at 1:30 I arrived and they sat me down and then told me it was going to be a 30-40 min wait, and I said even with appointment? She was like oh I didn't know you had an appointment after telling her multiple times. Then she proceeded to just tell me to wait and I chose to leave. They did a horrible job on my daughter's nails. She got serviced for what was supposed to be a refill from milk color to French tip. It took them 3 hours yes 3 hours. The technician just kept filing the nails over and over again. The nails were lumpy, uneven and right up on the cuticle. It really is a horrible job. She did NOT line the nails up together to make sure they were the same size for the cut down. Instead she just filed them down individually and gaged them with her eye-bad choice. We will go back tomorrow to see if a refund can be given as the manager had left for the evening. I showed up and an older lady began my nails but hardly spoke or understood English so she kept asking another lady( Jenny) questions so Jenny switched to do my nails. And that's all. $45 Jenny said I will do a silver line I said ok thinking she was doing it cause I was first time customer... she then starts putting studs on and says " my creative side is coming out" I immediately said Thank you But when I get to register she charged me extra $8 I said for what she said design.. seriously!!! but whatever I liked the way she did the fill. I did tell her she needs to tell people first before she just be adding services or dollars to their service. Today I called to make an appointment and she said they would call me Thursday for the deposit. I said ok and hung up. I called back and cancelled because of the deposit like they hardly had any customers and people was walking around doing nothing so don't act like you are that type of salon to be charging a deposit never heard of such for a nail appointment. I have been a customer of this salon for over 7 / 7 years but a young man named Kevin did my nails but he left because he wasn't happy with the poor management. Since I was a loyal customer I had the owner Jenny the owner to do my nails she did them OK but her attitude stinks. Her customer service to all guess is just nasty if it was for some if her nice hard working nail techs she wouldn't have much business. I paid $41 for one of the worst, if not the worst, gel manicure I have had applied since gel polish hit the market! The nail tech applied what was (apparently???) a non-soak-off product - without asking or telling me - and it is horrible. I did not like the shop, the nail tech, my manicure nor the entire experience. $41 is TOO much to pay for a gel manicure. Btw, I had removed my previous polish before going to the shop to save time and effort. Let me start out by saying I've been going to this nail salon for four years and Jenny has been doing my nails for two years. I thought me being a loyal customer it would get better, but lately seems like Jenny has been give me her ass to kiss. Last month I came in with a picture of what I wanted my birthday nails to look. If it wasn't for me she would have just put some random glitter on it and called it a day. This month I brought in a picture and I specifically asked if she can do it and if not I have something else we can try. She said no she could do it , it wouldn't be exactly but similar. She starts putting the black on the tips and I asked if she was gonna put more on the tips she was like no my nails are different than the picture (pic included) and it wouldn't look right. Then she just put some glitter on the top and some gold foil on the tips. She asked me if I likes and I said no. She got an attitude with me saying I always say I don't like it. I told her this was the first I've ever said I don't like my nails. Annnoyed , But I paid $105 for these nails. This will definitely be the last time I'll be going to sky bar. I've had it. This isn't the 1st or even the 5 times I've left feeling like I wasted my money and I wasn't cared for as a customer. I really don't understand why they take appointments when they are going to make you wait 45 minutes or more. I specifically called because I NEVER want to be the reason someone has to stay later than close and was assured by the woman on the phone that coming in at 5:15 would be plenty of time for a fill. And I'm torn because I really need a fill but would hate to keep someone from dinner with their family or plans because I know how that feels. I did French manicure, it was done alright it wasn't as clean as I would have hoped and I was left alone for various periods of time as I got my pedicure. I did a manicure, pedicure and an upper lip wax it came out at about $51 which isnt that bad. The upper lip wax wasn't done to the extent I would have preferred as there are still small hairs near my cupids bowI had to also ask her to pluck a couple of hairs around the corner of my mouth after she was finished. I just moved to Charlotte about two months ago from Norfolk, va having the worst experiences with nail shops back home I didn't expect much from Charlotte but i have been proven wrong. I've been here twice ,once for my nails and once for a pedicure. Both times I have been very happy with my outcome. Jenny did my nails and they look amazing.
