Shrimp and Bacon Burrito
Eric R.

Food was great, the salsa bar was fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed the shrimp bacon burrito and sampled an original fish taco. The staff was welcoming with smiles and a greeting. Fast service brought to our table, good vibe music playing.

Taco Tuesday- fish tacos and a side of fries!

Rubio's has always been a decent experience for me. Quick and friendly service. Ample seating both inside and outside. Food is always good. Won't be the best seafood you've ever had, but good quality for counter service for sure. My partner and I usually go on Taco Tuesday for their fish taco specials. Can't go wrong!

Chewy, unacceptable chicken
Brad W.

Normally a trouble free meal, one of the two chicken Mexican street corn bowls contained a piece of chewy, absolutely nasty piece of chicken. The other bowl hardly had any chicken and someone went heavy on the black beans. Also if I'm picking up, I don't want to wait for salsa. Get a salsa refrigerator for the customer, stop hiding them in the back.

I have been a fan of Rubios for over 20 years. I have eaten at many establishments and even supported them during the pandemic. It is a great place for good food and awesome salsa!!! Being on the west side of town I wanted a yummy treat so decided to dine in at this location. Per usual I asked for a cup for water. The nice staff gave me one and I went to the salsa bar and filled the cup 3/4 with salsa. The reason being is that I use 4 small cups of salsa for my burrito and chips. The water cup equates to the amount of salsa I use in the smaller cups. The thought being less plastic waste. Alas the "manager" (I think) saw me and told me in a very stern Dutifully I poured out the salsa into 4 small cups and threw away the water cup. Too bad Rubios. I loved your burritos but not worth being yelled at! Adios Rubios. Ya, Yo no soy una amiga jamas de su resturantes.

For those complaining about the price, what do you expect?!?! Go to Filiberto's and be a negative Nancy if you want "cheap" food with no love, no intention, and no happiness. Do not doubt this place, do not question whether or not you should come here. Quite literally everything is good, and the menu has such a variety that you'll find something that works for you, and yes it will be good. And I'm completely serious when I say this - if someone complains about the food they're wack.

I ordered the chilaquiles. The chilaquiles themselves were excellent. The flavor was robust, the sauce was smooth, and the chips held their texture surprisingly well. Unfortunately, that's where the meal began to lose momentum. The beans were watery and the flavor just wasn't right. The rice appeared to be basmati rice with dehydrated peas and carrots mixed in. I took a few bites and ultimately left both sides untouched. My wife ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese burrito. We were surprised to learn it used mozzarella cheese rather than Oaxacan cheese. Different, but not necessarily bad. What caught us off guard was the inclusion of red bell peppers throughout the burrito, which wasn't disclosed on the menu. Again, not a deal breaker, but something worth noting. The potatoes were also a bit firm and could have benefited from a few more minutes on the griddle. The shining star of the meal was the blueberry pancakes. These are true pancakes--not diner-style flapjacks--and they were absolutely loaded with blueberry compote, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. The portion was large enough for all three of my children to share, and they disappeared quickly. Will I return? Possibly. There were some genuinely good flavors present, and everything appeared to be cooked with care. My concerns were more about flavor inconsistencies and communication than poor execution. I want to support local businesses, and there was enough potential here that I would be willing to give Chido MX another try.

Yes, Yes, Yes! Today, my husband said let's try this place…read more I said ok! As we got closer, I realized I've been in the area several times. I have never ate at any of rhe places though. You order at the counter and the food comes out to the table. You can tell this place is family owned. The owners, whom I assumed were there tonight, were lovely people. While we waited, the woman who took our order brought out a basket of chips with refried beans and fresco queso on top with a side of salsa. Woah! What? Epic. But wait! A few minutes later, a precious girl with the most warm inviting, and beautiful smile came out with 2 warm, homemade corn tortillas, with salsa and cheese for us. These were just complimentary extras we didn't expect at all. Soo good. The restaurant is a humble place. Cute, clean, inviting and roomy. There is an inside seating area and an outdoor section. Someone was grilling meat out front. I think, the owner. I ordered a chili relleno combo. It comes with rice, beans, tortillas, and a drink. Hubs ordered two carne asada tacos, and a carne asada sope. I didn't try anything my husband ordered. ( I was laser focused on my meal lol) But it looked really good. He said, you can tell, they make their food with love. Yes, yes, yes, you can. My dish, was the best chili relleno I have had the entire 5 yrs I have been living in AZ. And the beans were phenomenal. Honestly, I prefer eating at places like this. We came for an impromptu date night. I can say it was one of the best meals and date nights I've had in a while. Thank you. Y'all are gonna see me alot. :)

I stopped by on a Saturday night to finally check it out. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the trompo right away, which is always a good sign. I stepped up to the counter and was greeted with a warm smile from the young lady up front. After looking over the menu, I ordered two tacos de tripa and two tacos de suadero. She asked if I wanted the tripas extra crispy I said no. I also asked how they prepare the suadero since I didn't see a choricera, but she wasn't sure. When the food came out, the tripas were a letdown. The texture was off, almost like a stale chip, and they were clearly overcooked. I asked if I could swap them for something safer, so I went with asada instead, but that didn't impress either. It didn't taste very fresh. Now here's the reason you should come to Tacos Chilangos: the suadero. Even though it's not cooked the traditional way, it was absolutely delicious. Perfect meat-to-fat ratio, super flavorful, and easily the standout. The guacamole salsa was top tier. I kept going back to that one over the others. All in all definitely stop by to try the suadero as for as the other two I'd would probably give them a second try.

I always ask for some guacamole with mine, I'm not a big salsa eater. Hubby really liked the salsa, but the guac was excellent!! Hubby ordered the 2 Cheese Enchiladas and I got the Large Taco Plate (I chose Carnitas and Al Pastor). They were served alongside rice and beans. The beans were nice and runny with cheese melted over. Hubby really enjoyed his enchiladas...they looked good, too. I asked for no cilantro (not a fan), so they doubled down on the onions, I guess. So many onions, I could barely make out what was in my tacos...LOL! After getting rid of some of them, I dug in. The tortillas were a bit dense, so I ended up taking the meats out of them and mixing it up with the rice/beans. The Carnitas were very tender, as was the Al Pastor. Service was fast and our server was very friendly.
