I WAS FIRED FOR NO REASON CONTINUE READING IF YOU WANT A WORKERS PERSPECTIVE ON THIS BUSINESS. I'm 19 trying to fund college myself which they knew i told them I was going to be staying here 3+ years to fund college myself but I worked here and was terminated during my training period actually on my second day.. I had only got to clean 3 houses so before I was even given the chance to complete my training. I was hired despite having no prior experience, so I expected there would be a learning period. Instead, I felt I was expected to perform at the level of an experienced cleaner while still learning the job and procedures which is extremely unfair and they knew I had no prior experience beforehand and still quick to judge and have little to no empathy for me or allowing to have time to learn.
I also want to clarify that when I asked about the possibility of working part-time, I was not making demands or refusing to work full-time. I simply asked if part-time was an option so I could gradually adjust to the physical demands of the job and then continue back to full time and If it was not possible, I fully intended to continue working full-time without complaint. Despite this, I felt I was judged unfairly for asking just one question and told I couldn't handle the job which is completely untrue.
Another concern I had was the compensation and false advertising. The Indeed listing advertised pay of $19-$25 per hour, but the pay structure I was given was based on receiving 37% of the cleaning price rather than a traditional hourly wage. I also felt the job posting was misleading and unfair because I'm spending hours cleaning a house and I don't even get half of the percentage and then regarding gas reimbursement. From my experience, gas was not reimbursed for travel to the from starting at my house to the first clients house despite the listing suggesting gas was paid and reimbursed it's only reimbursement between houses not on the way to the first house from home or on the way home from the last house and these house are far out over an hour and their indeed advertising also said I'd be making 1000 weekly but my trainer who's been there over a year said she is barely even making that and if she is it's because it's WITH GOOD TIPS not just from work pay so extremely unfair and a lot of false advertising which is illegal! Extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
One thing that especially bothered me was how mistakes were handled. During training, I was told by experienced trainers that they had accidentally dropped or broken items before and that accidents happen and it's okay.. However, on my first day, while extremely nervous and still learning, I accidentally broke a small shell worth about $10 while cleaning it I immediately apologized and even offered to replace it myself but then I was told the company would cover the cost. New employees who are still learning should be given at least as much grace as experienced workers if not more because we are still learning and we are nervous but I wasn't given any grace I was judged Instead, I felt judged for a single mistake made on my first day.
What frustrated me most was being terminated during training without being given a clear explanation. Because no reason was provided, I can only speculate about what led to the decision. I was never given the opportunity to finish training, improve, or demonstrate what I could do once I became more familiar with the job or become faster at work.
Overall, I found management quick to judge, unsupportive of new employees, and unwilling to provide reasonable time for learning and adjustment. Based on my experience, I would not recommend working here and their workers are extremely unpaid
The only reason I was given to be fired was that they have long term experience in the cleaning business but that doesn't give them the right to assume I can't do the job on my second day so I was fired for no reason just solely based off assumption which in most cases is actually illegal and false advertising is also illegal! :) read more
