We came for Pad Woon Sen and it did not disappoint! This is probably my second best Thai place in Mesa. We ordered take out and was ready within 10-15 mins. Service was fast and friendly. The chicken Pad Woon Sen has plenty of protein which was a major plus! The noodles were delicious and came with just amount of veggies (celery, carrots, onions). The chicken green curry had bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and onions. Both dishes had medium spice and for us, it was pretty spicy but good. Next time we would go down a notch. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I placed an order through grub hub and it said 30-40 minutes. We were at the Phoenix airport when I ordered. I got there and they hadn't even started it. I went outside and asked my husband if he was willing to wait another 20 minutes. He said yes, so I went back in and told them we would wait. After 20 minutes, I walked in and the waitress looked as if she had never seen me. When I asked if my order was ready she said no you cancelled it. I did NOT cancel it. The waitress that I told that did everything to avoid eye contact. She then said they would need ANOTHER 20 MINUTES!!!! We did NOT get our food. I had to call Grub Hub to get my money back. I had Kao Sai Gai , and Thai Spring Roll. Both are so DELICIOUS! Kao Soi Gai is a MUST. This place is so clean, service is outstanding. Food is so fresh with good quality , real authentic style with American tastes or Thai tastes . I wish I could stay long enough to try some more dishes so I can tell how they are. Disclaimer: I've never eaten in the restaurant. I've only had food delivered through uber eats. The food is prepared and delivered timely and in sustainable packaging. THAI FRIED RICE: The Thai fried rice is the absolute BEST fried rice I've ever had. I get cravings for this delicious meal on the reg. I never knew I could love fried rice SO MUCH! We honestly order this nearly once a week, as our current life with complete home renovations and nursing school is not compatible with consistent home meals. It's even better than my homemade fried rice (and I like to think I'm a pretty decent home chef - equally confirmed by my live-in fried rice connoisseur). We've tried the chicken, shrimp, and fried tofu fried rice and all have been truly delectable. The consistency and flavor are unmatched. I've had with and without spice and prefer the full flavor of the rice dish itself. It doesn't need any extra flavor additions to appease the taste buds for a tantalizing experience. KARI SALMON: The Kari salmon dish was exquisitely prepared. The salmon was crispy in all the right ways. The dish is prepared with onion, carrots, and potatoes in a yellow curry sauce. The dish is a little spicy - which is not a turn off for me. The side of white rice is a superb addition to tone down the spice a tad for a memorable flavor explosion. Highly recommend. They had a lot of gluten free options but no gluten free soy sauce to compliment it. The waitress did say that they would get some to have it available. If it was closer we would definitely be back. I tried Royyim on their first day open and it was absolutely delicious! I had the crab puffs (real crab meat!!!), chicken panang curry, and Hoh Mok. Everything was excellent! The Hoh Mok is a Thai dish you don't see on every menu! It is a mixed seafood custard curry and absolutely amazing! It is one of the pricier items on the menu, but I was able to get 3 meals out of it, so it was totally worth it! When the chefs of my go to Thai place decided to open another extended family location, I was among the first to try (and 1st review!). I am happy to see my favorite crab fried rice (real! Not krab lol) carried onto the menu, but I was more delighted to see a few new additions which I plan to work thru future visits! That said, hands down, the Hok May Talay = instant win! It was a mixture of fish, mussels, shrimp and scallops in a red (?) curry sauce. So no overpowering spice level for me (ordered mild), and I was pleasantly surprised by the burst of citrus flavor from the kaffir lime leaves floating in the broth. Extremely rude waitress. Artificial fragrance air freshener overwhelms the restaurant and bathrooms. Subpar food. Bright Lime Green walls gives off a cheap feel. The owner did not smile once. She demanded we sit in the corner under the TV. We instead walked over to another table. She then rudely told us we cannot sit there "in case a big group comes in". No group ever came. The pad woon sen was really bad, tasted of toasted sesame and did not have any oyster or fish sauce. Not authentic. The only positive things were that they used filtered water, which is rare at a restaurant in Arizona, and the place was very clean. Prices: $11 to $18. Overpriced for what you get, like most Thai restaurants in AZ. The curry was ok, nothing spectacular but a decent serving size. Even Mild was way too spicy for me. Due to the extreme rudeness of the owner (Asian lady), and the ridiculous air freshener smell, we will not return and DO NOT recommended at all. We went here on 2/2 for my son's bday. We were welcomed and told to sit wherever we wanted. After a wait of some time, the owner(?), came to give us the laminated menu. We ordered an appetizer, and the vegetable spring rolls were very good, hot and fresh(thus, the 1 star). Drinks were $1.75 and was that was a can of soda. They had the soda dispenser (left over from when it was Cousin's Subs, I guess), but don't use it. There was a note on the menu "$.50 extra charge for more or less ice". The glasses were full to the top, so don't know how there could have been "more". Son was excited to see pineapple curry, his favorite. I ordered orange chicken. Spouse ordered chicken pad thai. Pad thai was a big pile, but noodles were rubbery and stuck together. Wonder if it was left over from lunch? My orange chicken had a nice citrus sauce, but was nearly burned. Son's curry was all liquid with nearly no vegetables or pineapple. All the time we were there, we were the only customers, except 3 carry outs. I went here one time for lunch when they first opened and had gummy pad thai, as well. I saw some good reviews so thought we'd give them a second chance. I was deciding between 3-4 stars here so let me explain why I decided on 3. We got here 45 mins before they closed on a Saturday night. I didn't think it was to late for coming in since most places bring food out within 10-15 minutes and it only takes my family about 15-20 minutes to eat. We have 3 kids so I'm really not trying to hang out for long. It was our first time here as well. When walking in the man behind the counter (maybe the owner) looked at his watch and looked annoyed. They (him and a women) explained your were closing soon and we needed to put an order in quickly. They tried to say at first that we could only order to go unless we are quick eating there. Not a very good first impression on that note you should never welcome people in like that regardless if you're closing soon you're still not closed yet and it really wasn't that soon. We sat down and needed to decide on one more thing we wanted but put out order in within the first 5 minutes of sitting down. We ordered crab puffs, pork Shumai, shrimp pad Thai, and chicken fried rice. We also paid right away since they were in such a hurry to have us leave. Funny because we already know we don't take long anyway lol. Everything came out right away. The women serving us and talking to us about closing was super sweet and apologetic about it. Food came out super fast. Crap puffs were super crispy and came with a sweet chili sauce that looked homemade. It was very good! Pork shumai was delicious as well. I've had my fair share of pad Thai from various places though including making it myself as an amateur, and this place was by far my least favorite. Wasn't very flavorful, shrimp was very good though, but the noddles may have been over cooked they were super chewy and gummy. The fried rice was big and perfect for my picky kids to share. We all enjoyed it. So aside from the rest of the good being great and then the lack of customer service to new guests that is why I chose 3 stars.
