While JJ wasn't the lowest, they were the most comprehensive. For example, all of the other quotes quoted the shingles and work, but JJ Construction quoted shingles, tiles, gutters, and all hardware (new fans/vents/gutters). They are highly skilled. They did not rush the project (who wants a roofer who rushes?) and cleaned up every day. Communication was excellent. They installed Class 4 shingles, which lowered my home owners insurance by 20%. Mike from Allied knocked on my door and told me that a storm had come through my area and that my home was likely to have sustained damage. He climbed on my roof, identified hail damage, and determined that I would likely be approved for an insurance claim. That's when Mike did his magic. I have a feeling that if I tried to get this claim approved by myself, the insurance company would have found a way to convince me that they didn't have to pay any money. Mike would have none of this. From the initial inspection through the whole scope of repairs, Mike worked with me to get the insurance company to honor their agreement with me. Again, I don't have the knowledge of construction or insurance to argue with these guys very well, but Mike did. I'm pleased to say that the insurance company repaired all the damage to my home. We didn't realize the roof was in such terrible shape - holes, hail damage, concrete around the bases of metal vents. Matt went through the peroper channels to make sure we have an energy star and energy efficient roof (as we requested) which is worth the extra cost! We were scheduled early on in the spring and not a moment too soon, I frantically called saying that water was coming in my ceiling light fixture in our bathroom. We were on schedule a couple days later, but a couple guys came out and tarped our roof in the interim. The job was completed in a day and a half and the team said they have not seen such warped mdf (sorry not sure on the terminology) plywood before, and it happened to be that our vents in the roof were covered the entire time. They made sure everything was uncovered to allow proper airflow. They handled everything through our insurance and were extremely professional. Bravo. I'll always recommend them to anyone looking for quality work for replacing their roof! We know who to trust when we want to install new siding and new windows or gutters! Options: Roman gave me the option to choose one of 3 types/grade of shingle replacement. (Another roofer only had one option). After picking the quality of the shingles I had plenty of color options. Cost: The estimate for the most expensive shingles from Roman was comparable to an estimate I got from another roofer. The final cost was within the range of the initial estimate. Completion: We were hoping to get this done in the early winter but the village wouldn't grant a permit until spring (but at least we tried.. the other roofer would not consider starting the job that late in the year). Roman was able to get a tarp over my roof's bald spot and that stayed for the winter. Once spring arrived we were able to get our permit and complete the project within a few weeks. It looks great. We wanted to know if he thought we should go through insurance or not (we asked about any evidence of storm damage because we can't see our entire roof due to how steep it is). He wouldn't really give us a straight answer. So then we asked if he could provide a quote if we pay for everything ourselves. Didn't get anything for a couple weeks. So then I called back and spoke to Joe Sr and explained that we just wanted a quote for the roof replacement since we never received it. He assured me that we would have it to us in the next 1-2 days. Nothing came after that. Radio silence from them and no follow up from Joe Sr. Not a good sign when you can't even get an estimate on a project.

Nick was easy to work with and a great communicator. He used a drone to show us exactly what the current state of the roof was, and what needed fixing. He continued flying the drone through the demolition to give us a walkthrough of all the work that was completed. From the initial consultation to the final shingle being tacked in, Nick and his crew were nothing but great. They got us on the calendar within a week of the initial consultation, and the entire project was done in a day with a team of 8+ workers. What I appreciated most was that when they were finished, they thoroughly combed our lot, and the lots of the neighbors on either sides, and swept for debris with magnets and metal detectors to get ever last tack. The property was spotless, and treated with total respect. 10/10.
