I ordered the honey chicken with chicken fried rice. The honey chicken was basically just crumbs. They were about the size of pinto beans. The chicken fried rice was OK but the chicken had a spongy texture that made it very appetizing. The eggroll was stale and flavorless. Love going here. We visit on the regular and always get great service. They are just very laid back and easy going there. Don't expect high quality. It's a local Chinese place with some of the best wonton soup and chips I have ever had in my life. It's not a huge buffet but it has your basics and that's what matters. WORST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN COV RUN AWAY AND DON'T RETURN 1st time it was good, 2nd time it was horrible. This restaurant didn't take the time substitute some fried rice for white rice (which usually comes default with vegetarian orders). The lady was inflexible and arrogant, she said I would literally have to buy another rice box. Rice is not that expensive, but having less loyal customers are ;) They don't deserve our money. Visiting from out of town and thought I'd get something besides a burger. That was my fatal mistake. Thank God I didn't eat all of the Szechuan chicken because I feel like that would've been the end of me. It looked watery, tasted a bit gamy so I threw it out. It was definitely the Szechuan chicken as I ate everything else the night before. I've been on the toilet all morning and I curse the name royal palace. Two stars for everything else tasting good. A day old Chinese takeout is something everybody looks forward to. Heating it up the next day for a quick lunch it's very gratifying. Little did I know it would be signing my death warrant. I have a favorite Chinese place where I grew up, and wanted to find a good one close to where I live now. I have been a few times now, and the food is good here! The buffet gives you the option to try different items and keep going back for more! Only -1 star for service as it's hard to get refills/staff attention sometimes. read more

If there was a way to give ZERO Stars I would have .. just witnessed the Owners son flip off one of their servers .. he was cocky and horrible to her while he was showing off to his friends at what a bad ass he was. The server was doing her job and was very seeet and friendly. When I approached the payment counter and told the owner what he did he denied it and said no because he used his ring fingers and not his middle fingers and was such a cocky lil twit grinning and laughing about it the whole time. The boy has been annoying as hell over the years running around the restaurant which we overlooked because we understand about owning a business and the long hours and having to deal with childcare BUT now he's a smart as teenager that is disrespectful to both employees and customers .. very last visit for me! read more

Having visited this location in 2012, under different ownership, there was once a large buffet and very good food with many selections. The current establishment has created a sleepy, unattractive ambience which feels sticky and unkempt as if someone deliberately wants their customers to be uncomfortable! The food was OK but old and occasionally not warm. The employees were friendly but also sleepy and uninspired. I recall not being able to find them for a refill on the drink. They have the basics to create a wonderful restaurant, but do not seem to care or wish to work hard enough to make it so. There are very few Asian restaurants in this area. Why make a little effort to achieve something below average when they could invest some time and money and corner the market? I have no idea how anyone could give them a 1 or a 2 and what are they doing with the rest of the building. The former restaurants offered far more space and a much larger buffet than the current. While visiting with my mother, we were discussing why we would not be returning while we were eating. Not recommended. I give them a 2 because we did remain and eat the very average food. read more

We go to Chinese food every Christmas Day. We just moved to Covington and didn't know where to go. Let's just say we still don't know where to go. We had the buffet, which I always feel like if there is a buffet, they don't really want to cook off of the menu. So, like i said, we did the buffet. When you walk it the place is dark and damp. No natural lighting, no strong lighting whatsoever. The tables are okay, but mostly what you notice is how crammed together the actual buffet is. As you go through you have to be extremely careful not to get knocked over by the staff when they exit the kitchen (poorly placed). The chicken is not of good quality and a lot of the food is over-sauced and laden with salt. I would much rather order from a menu and get one meal that is good. It is a pig out buffet and as you would guess all the patrons were, shall we say on the lard side. We made the mistake of ordering from the menu as the buffet food looked like what was left over from the previous night. One of the items ordered was sizzling rice soup. There was no sizzle nor rice. The waitress who seemed to be in charge said "we quit with the rice." This place as I just saw was rated 2 stars-a gross overrating. Save your money and go to Conyers for decent Chinese. We have eaten there several times. You can order off the menu or get an all-you can-eat buffet. Lots of choices on the buffet. Inexpensive - prices for the buffet about $5.50 lunch, $6.95 for dinner. Charge extra for tea so If you want hot tea add $1.00 pp. Not a fancy place but seems clean and service good. We'll be back when we need to have Chinese. read more
