I haven't been here in over 7 years. Today was the last time I will ever go. This place went downhill. The variety of food offered was very small. I did go at lunch though. The restaurant was very dirty. The table cloths were filthy like they hadn't been washed in weeks. The food had no taste at all but I can tell it was old it was kinda like jerky with sauce on it. Egg rolls had hardly any filling. I ate half plate and my husband ate 1 plate & he can eat a lot. I was hungry so I thought I'll make a salad because I'm sure you can't go wrong with a salad but I was wrong the salad dressing was like water it absolutely had no taste at all just made my stuff soggy. Idk what happened to this place it was such a disappointment. We paid and left & sad to say we won't be back in fact I think we are kinda done with buffets at this point. read more

Hands down second worst Chinese food place I've ever eaten at. We got vegetable chow mein, general's chicken, and crab cream, cheese puffs. The chow mein had literally no flavor to it, it was just noodles with a small amount of salt on it. Completely bland. The general chicken was also very bland, tasteless, and soggy. The crab cream cheese puffs literally had no crab in them at all, and almost no taste of crab to them. How much were these three items? $37 including tax and that wasn't including a tip. They offer a dinner buffet for $18,95/person. They had Calif. rolls but no nigiri or sashimi sushi. Okay selection of Chinese food but nothing that stood out. Some of the food was quite dried out. The white rice was hard and dried out as well. I noticed one of the staff picking up spilt rice with tongs and putting it back in the serving tray, so that definitely grossed me out. Was visiting from out of state and wanted some Chinese. My buddy, who's a local, suggested the place but warned us away from the sea food as it's known to be iffy. Decided to play it safe and got, fried rice, lo mein, and pot stickers. There were six of us there, all playing it safe on food choices, and four of us ended up with minor food poisoning. Service was great but unless you're looking for the rest of your day to be at home in your bathroom, DONT GO HERE. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Royal Dragon! The first time we ordered carry out however they are most well known for their all you can eat buffet. They have a wide range of food options on their menu. We love their general chicken, it's packed full of garlicky flavor, their sesame chicken has the perfect amount of sweet & savory, their chow mien was delicious along with their crab Rangoon's. Both times we have went once for carry out & then for the in restaurant buffet the staff were super friendly & the service was great! I love the decor in the restaurant & the overall relaxed ambiance. The buffet has SO many options, salad, seafood, sushi, dessert, Chinese food & much more. I ordered from the menu for takeout. The sesame chicken I received was overcooked and the 4 pieces of broccoli were undercooked! The Szechuan pork was horrible. The meat was too tough to bite.I threw it out! I think they gave me food that had been sitting out in the buffet food. What a waste of money !! No more!!! read more

Just your mediocre Chinese á la carte restaurant. I have mixed reviews about this place unfortunately. The first time, the food was pretty decent, all of the dishes were fully stocked over at the buffet section, and staff were friendly to check on us. It's about $20.00/person which isn't bad at all, plus they tack on a .$50 "mask fee", if you're not wearing one. Second time we stopped in however, brought us a different experience. As mentioned in other reviews, if you come during the first hour of opening, most of it is reheated food. I don't have respect for companies that try to cut corners and put their profits first so this became the second and last time I visit. Would've recommended, but not anymore. read more

Well I'll be! Four of us came for the $11.50 auce lunch on a Saturday. We all thought it was very good! It was our first time so that probably helped that it was new to us, but the food tasted fresh and delicious. My favorite was the honey shrimp and the hot and sour soup. The honey shrimp were a good size, not too much sauce, and we got them piping hot! The hot and sour soup tasted perfect and fresh, nice surprise on a cold rainy day! The others thought the sushi was good and especially liked that they served slices of raw salmon which they all put on their variety of sushi rolls. Pretty cool. The service was good, but the friendliness was not. It seemed to be family ran, but I am not sure. When I called on the phone however, she was very friendly and helpful. we finally decided to try this place. The buffet was just ok. Great price but the food was so so. The orange chicken was basically fried chicken bits in oily orange juice. The walnut shrimp was flavorful but not one walnut! The sushi was warm. The chow ein was basically noodles and a small amount of green onions. The pork rib and paper chicken were over cooked,chewy and dry.I had heard it was hit and miss...our visit was a miss. read more

Food was cold and it did not taste good cold the food needed to be a whole lot warmer for the buffet. The carpet was filthy dirty and it needs to be upgraded and update the flooring to wood floors instead of carpets because the carpets hold in a lot of dirt and the carpet is unhealthy for the patrons who eat there clean the carpets or change the carpets to wood floors do they could be swept and mopped at the end of the lunch and dinner hours. So you don't have dirty carpets all the time. The servers at the buffet do not even check The temperature of the food to see if the food is hot enough to serve it. It should not be lukewarm food or even to very cold food. This is very upsetting to come to a buffet style meals and the food is all cold. I've been eating here for over 20 years, yes 20 years. Always good food, never had any problem. Everything is always hot and tasty. The sushi is decent and they have THE BEST crab meat puffs I've ever had. We love this place. Only problem would be the price, expensive but I still go once per month anyways. read more

Went for the dinner buffet. Food was obviously way Americanized, and not super flavorful. For $20 (including tax) a person, my friend and I made ourselves get a second plate of the food items that were more okay, to make it feel worth it. The waiter that served us our drinks and such was an older man, not super friendly, not too good at English. We both ended up with upset stomachs later that night. We had been so excited for the buffet experience after a couple years not able to go to one, but all we got was disappointment. read more

No cleaning in between customers and they are mandating that we wear masks. Cdc tells us we don't have to wear masks anymore. They are not a nice place to go to rude waiters and waitress. The food is very very horrible and bad tasting. No fresh food ever comes out all the food has been seating out for a very long tinier and you can tell because the food is all dried out and the rices are very dried out and very crunchy to eat. Floors are very very dirty. The need to do A heavy duty makeover it is very discussing to walk in and see the carpet very dirty floors. Their restrooms smell like sewage and the toilets are all stained and the countertops are just as bad. I would go to Panda Express and Asian Gardens they are the best of the best. They are very clean and they always have fresh food their too. And they are very very nice whereas Royal Dragon is not they are very rude and unfriendly. And they are all hard to understand because when they talk to you they are very mumbled with their words when they talk to you. Royal Dragons needs to be shut down until they clean up their act and place to eat before some of us will be back to try it again. I would give you o stars because you are very very gross. Love this place. Staff makes us feel welcome every time as it's my elderly mother's favorite place to eat. Great selection on buffet or order off the menu. Foods always fresh because they do serve tons of people for lunch and dinner. Favorite entrees being... walnut shrimp, broccoli beef, any of the chicken dishes and of course egg foo young. I've been coming here since I was a baby, literally. I've grown up with the same staff since 2001 and they are always so nice and they do make good food! Although I find the buffet to be pricy for how much I end up actually eating, their takeout is delicious and for the price, although expensive, you get A LOT of food. And it's good food too! Their bean curd and veggie box is to die for, as well as their chicken chow mein, generals chicken, cream cheese puffs, and honey walnut shrimp are fantastic!! Especially when they are fresh cooked for your takeout orders. They have so many super good items that aren't featured in the buffet, so I highly recommend ordering either via pickup or delivery from door dash..or just calling in because that menu rocks and is honestly one of the best in grass valley or Nevada city. And if you ordered 4 things it would surly last you 3-4 days, especially if you are just 2 people. So it's worth the price. I do give this place only 4 stars because I do agree with the general consensus that the dine-In buffet is VERY expensive for the selection they have available and for the fact that it tends to be either luke warm or cold sometimes (especially if you walk in near the end of the night) and it's overall expensive for how much food you end up actually eating while you are there, compared to takeout where you can actually eat $20 worth of food over time instead of trying to cram your money's worth into 15-30 minuets. But the staff is nice, their food is consistent, good, and filling. (And they have by far the best broccoli beef just as a side note) call it nostalgia from my childhood, but royal dragon is a gem and has always been good. And their takeout menu is blowing my mind! I wish they'd have a daily special where they crab legs used to be in the buffet since they don't carry the crab legs anymore. I think having a little nice surprise of bean curds, garlic chicken, Phoenix and dragon or whatever else would be nice when dining at the buffet. Anyway, good place! Highly recommend. We were out late so this was our emergency place to go eat. We've been there about a handful of times and each time it's been consistently good. This was our first time going 45 minutes before closing. We were afraid it would be old stale food that had been picked over but to our delight they had a lot of things stocked and set out. The waiter cane to our table and asked us if there was anything we didn't see out that we would like. The only thing we could think of was pot stickers. He said ok and had the kitchen make some fresh! We also have dessert there. They always have spumoni ice cream and I love it. They have a lot to choose from each time and all very tasty traditional Chinese foods. With an all you can eat buffet all day you can't get any better than that. 3 people with water and hot tea out the door with tip was $62. read more

You must be of Asian decent to get any type of friendliness your way. One of the female servers was so unwelcoming & rude when I asked for a glass of water and during our meal she brought over a raggedy broom and dust pan to sweep the floor by us like wtf!?? For a Chinese food buffet, I was pleasantly surprised. There was a couple of items that I didn't care for (the chow mein & fried rice were disappointing), bit majority of the food was delicious, and surprisingly fresh. The staff were very professional with customer service, very efficient, and a clean restaurant. The desserts at buffets are always disappointing so no surprise there. The soup was absolutely fantastic! I definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner. read more
