Where to begin. Waited in drive through 15 min before getting to the speaker and another 10 mins to have the order taken. Advised it would take 20 min for 1/2 of the order to be ready. Agreed to wait; but requested the other half of the order now as I hadn't eaten today. Waited at the window and the cashier never returned. Husband went inside and called to say the inside was just as crowded and customers expressing displeasure. Finally got 1/2 the order for there to be no onions or mustard just as requested. Husband s waited another :30 for his order. Unfortunate situation. Probably won't be back.

the final Boss onion ring lol. So good.

When I was younger Roy Rogers was everywhere. Now it's difficult to find one. Luckily I was able to find this one today. Let me just say this....Fixin cups are awesome! I love the idea of toppings on the side as they stay crisp and fresh. I added my fixin cup to my 1/4lb cheeseburger with some yellow mustard and was very happy with the results! I also was pleased to see they offered beer battered onion rings for $3.59. Less than $10 for a really good lunch. Definitely a fan. Onion rings were obviously fresh made. One was a half an onion lol

Stopped in for some dinner went through the drive through I guess it is the manager that took our order and gave us our food. He made sure we had everything we needed before leaving the window. I wish they Roy Rogers would open more restaurants up like there was back in the 70-90's they were all over then they started to shut down. I have noticed that a few are starting to come back this place has a wonderful hamburger and chicken. The strawberry short cake they have for dessert is also very good.

Employees are rude, not even basic manners. Restaurant is dirty, no clean tables. The only reason I go is the roast beef.

Raising Cane's - 4 piece tender combo

Raising Cane's

(79 reviews)

Representing 2024 in alphabet series, R is for Raising Cane's. I was familiar with Raising Cane's…read morewhen I visited my parents in Phoenix in mid 2010's and thought they were great. I went to this location multiple times in 2023-2025. They opened in September 2023, which was the 2nd location in MD. This is about 15 miles from my home, which isn't too far. Then, Columbia location opened, which is closer at about 10 miles. The first location in MD was way up in Towson. I was up that way in March 2023 for a trivia tournament and thought to get an early lunch at Raising Cane's as I was excited to try at the time the only location in MD, but parking was a pain and line was too long. So, I ended up eating at the trivia tournament venue. Then, in September 2023, they opened this 2nd MD location here on a Friday. I went on its 2nd day that Saturday as coincidentally, I had a trivia tournament. It was a madhouse on route 3 in the left lane getting in here. I ended up parking on the Wendy's side as it was too hectic in there; you're not supposed to do that, and I never did that again, but that 1st weekend was hectic. Line was long, but they were going as quickly as they could. I was a bit nervous about my timing, but eventually, I got my food, ate a bit quicker than usual, and drove the 5 minutes to the trivia tournament. It was delicious. I love the chicken tenders, fries, & Texas toast here. I don't really like coleslaw, but I don't mind theirs. The baskets come with a drink, and I get half sweet/half unsweet tea every time, and it's freshly brewed. My girlfriend & I went to this location a couple of times mostly in 2024. Chicken baskets are always on point. In June 2024, we bumped into someone from trivia, which we three were going to tournament. He loved Raising Cane's probably even more than me. He said he lived very close to here and would come here sometimes multiple times a week. He also replaced fries (which is unhealthy) with more Texas toast (which is also unhealthy but maybe less so), and he loved the Texas toast more than fries. I agree with him on that here, but I want the fries as I want the variety. I'll keep coming back as a Caniac!

Slim Chickens

Not gonna lie, I held out on coming here after I saw the lines around the block for Canes, but I…read morenever saw Slim Chickens receive the same kind of welcome. I had previously gotten caught up in the Canes hype myself, but quickly realized that the chicken was mid, and the sauce carries that whole franchise. I was also put off by how all of a sudden This area had quickly become the fried chicken capital of Maryland, with all these new chicken spots opening. Roaming Roosters, Canes, 2 Royal Farms, Wing Stop, Popeyes, Nandos, Miski (R.I.P.), Dat Jerk (McJamaican), Bon Chon, The Chicken Shack, and still to come Big Chicken which is owned by Shaq will be opening somewhere in the area. It just seems like a lot. To the point i heard someone refer to this area as "The Chicken strip" lol However, I was on Grubhub one night and decided to give it a try. I got a chicken sandwich with Korean BBQ sauce that I wasn't crazy about. The sandwich was just completely soaked with sauce and was sloppy, I wasn't feeling it. I also ordered the wings with cayenne ranch dry rub, and they were absolute fire. So then of course I had to follow up by trying the strips which I actually did today. We dined in (even though I ordered to go) and the staff was reallly nice, like Chickfila level nice, and the store was super clean. There was even a guy outside sweeping the parking lot, that to me looked spotless, but I guess he was sweeping away any possibility that a speck of dirt or debris may land, because I didn't see anything anywhere. When I got my food the first thing I thought was, these tenders look similar to Cane's. Like, almost identical, but as soon as I took a bite, there was no more comparison. The tenders were perfectly seasoned and the fries look the same way McDonald's fries look (in commercials), golden with a slight crunch, and not overly salty. (Review then sits in my draft for like 4 months at this point. I dont even know why) Picking up where I left off, I've since been here like 5 times. I still like it alot, the sandwiches are fire, the tenders are fire, and the wings (cayenne ranch) are fire. Though, I do wish incould get cayenne ranch tenders, but for a once every now and then option this spot is solid.

I had a deal for Slim to try their food and went on Wednesday, March 12 with my girlfriend. We…read morethought it was crazy Slim had just recently opened right across the street from Raising Cane's, which had opened 1.5 years earlier in September 2023, which I remember going on their 2nd day in Gambrills and was a madhouse. Business at Slim was light on this Wednesday early evening. While similar to Cane's, one key difference is Slim has more menu variety. At Cane's, it's simply the chicken tender baskets, and Slim has the same thing but also chicken sandwiches as well as more dessert options like chocolate Oreo in a mason jar and other mason jar dessert varieties. We had gotten a tender strip basket & chicken sandwich. I think the chicken sandwich was solid. The chicken tenders were pretty good, but inferior to Cane's across the street, but that would is very high bar to reach Cane's level. Fries & Texas toast was good here, but Cane's is a bit better too. I did like the varieties of dipping sauces here. At Cane's it's just the Caniac sauce. Here I got their Slim sauce & ranch. The tenders are also smaller than at Cane's. But the price for their basket is a fair amount cheaper than Cane's, so that is a plus. In addition to the food deal, I also had a free Mason jar dessert, which I got the Oreo one to split with my g/f. It was the highlight of the entire meal, which was delicious. Additionally, the cashier was very friendly answering all my questions. I will say the service was friendlier here at Cane's. Cane's they are just trying to get people through the line. Overall, I would consider Slim as an option for the chicken sandwich and/or if I have a deal.

DGD treated me to a birthday lunch here and wow, was it great! We requested to sit on the patio and…read morewere seated immediately. Chips and salsa came right away and it was hard not to eat too much, it was so tasty! The chips were fresh and hot with the perfect amount of salt; salsa was medium hot, just right for my spicy preference. After a very short wait - maybe 5 minutes, tops - our server came to take our order. The food arrived within 10 minutes. We shared nachos supreme with beef (ground beef) and four street tacos with carnitas. I can't begin to tell you how hard it was not to gobble down every bit. The carnitas were spiced perfectly and were moist and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The ground beef was, as well. The vegetables in both dishes - lettuce, onion, tomato, jalapeño - were fresh as can be. DGD enjoyed a strawberry Jarisco, while I stuck with water. The reason we held back from gorging on this feast was a planned stop at Coldstone after ;) Service was excellent, food was delicious. Parking is mildly annoying but that's just me. It's in a large shopping center and there's never any parking right in front of the businesses on the main entrance street. But we didn't have to walk far, just across an interior street from the parking shared with a theater. It's free, so a little walk is OK. With tip it was around $50 I think, but as DGD treated me, I wasn't involved in paying. Worth another visit, regardless.

First what was right. Friendly cashier, good food, clean restaurant and bathroom... so why the 1…read morestar, because of customer service and telling me a lie... twice... to me. So this is fairly simple and could have been avoided if they simply did some very basic customer service.. You see I was given a piece of cornbread. I said, where is the butter, in the tool box they said. So, they leave their butter out all day, unrefrigerated. So I was a bit surprised. In many other mission BBQs I've been to, they are behind the counter, refrigerated. So I asked if they could get me some butter from in back, that was still refrigerated... no, we don't have any butter that is refrigerated. I said, okay, how about some of the butter you use to cook with, that's not refrigerated either, it's all unrefrigerated. So instead of continuing this conversation, I went back and ate my meal. I then went up to the nice guy who took my order, I said, hey, I know you have butter in the tool box, it I can't imagine it's been sitting out for days, oh no, we restock it daily he said, okay, well, can you get me a couple of butters from in back, I assume your butter is not shutting in back unrefrigerated in a store room, oh no, it's refrigerated. Okay, so he said, no problem, I'll go back there and ask. Well, I assume he asked the same customer unfriendly worker because he came out and said the same thing, we don't have any butter unrefrigerated... I looked at his face and knew he was not telling me the truth, so I looked at his eyes and said, they told you to tell me that, he looked down, embarrassed because he was basically told to lie to me and said, yes, I said okay, I appreciate you trying. He was the good guy, really nice... So, management of mission BBQ, something simple has now made it so I will now go out of my way to never go back to your location. You lost a customer and I will tell everyone I can, don't go to your location, because they lie to you and don't care. Another mission bbq location near by does the same stupid tool box butter crap, and I've asked many many times for butter, and they get it for me, fresh and refrigerated, not sitting out all day rotting. So don't tell me it's a corporate policy. Also, I've been to many locations in Florida, and they never leave their butter out all day to rot. Nothing is worse than refusing an extremely simple request of a customer, and then doubling down to lie, because you are lazy, hate customers, or don't want to be challenged because you are telling a lie.
