I feel like once every 5 years I drive past here and think "Man, Remember Roy Rogers?" It's just one of those nostalgic places from my childhood that are still lingering around today, so every now and then I wanna stop by to see how it's doing. This location is pretty much just how I remember things being. The fixin's bar bar being the stand out, along with the fried chicken. Overall, it's okay. The burger I got was nothing to write home about, but it was cool to go customize it, and the chicken was decent, and kind of reminded me of Royal Farms chicken, almost! The staff was agreeable, nobody was rude, but definitely not Chick-Fil-A level above and beyond service. Just here's what I want, here's my money, here's your food with not much side chat in between while we waited. I may get the itch to come check them out again. I just feel like why be in business if you're not looking to thrive. This place could be one small innovation from being back in the race, they already have the nostalgic edge. read more

Boy, my childhood memories of Roy Rogers was demolished today when i visited the Gambrills location! That place is absolutely filthy...tables were sticky, floors needed to be mopped, bathroom was atrocious, and the fixin bar had ketchup that you couldn't get to come out because it was overflowing from the top of the plunger...the tomatoes were gross and pasty white in color, and the pickles had mustard on them! this place needs to be completely shut down! The young man who offered me ketchup packets was nice, but that's about it for this place! My bacon cheeseburger was disgusting and tepid at best. The roast beef my wife ordered was "ok", but not what she remembered from the past (her first job was working at Roy Rogers in the 70's). Her slaw was nowhere near what it used to be either. The whole concept of Roy Rogers just needs to be overhauled if all locations serve food like this. Absolutely NOT anything like it used to be! Quality sucks! We won't be back - ever. read more

Where to begin. Waited in drive through 15 min before getting to the speaker and another 10 mins to have the order taken. Advised it would take 20 min for 1/2 of the order to be ready. Agreed to wait; but requested the other half of the order now as I hadn't eaten today. Waited at the window and the cashier never returned. Husband went inside and called to say the inside was just as crowded and customers expressing displeasure. Finally got 1/2 the order for there to be no onions or mustard just as requested. Husband s waited another :30 for his order. Unfortunate situation. Probably won't be back. read more

Horrible horrible horrible I ordered 2 double r bar burgers and one wing. One double r bar with no cheese One double r bar on sourdough The one on sourdough with no cheese was ok. The one with sourdoughs ham was could and our fries were cold My husband parks and goes in the restaurant to get it fixed. When he tells the manager what was wrong she offered to warm the ham from his burger up! No. Please prepare another burger from scratch! We were given more fries BUT NOT freshly fried fries. They were from the same batch of fries that we got ours from and they were just as cold. They didn't have and chicken wings! This store has been going downhill for awhile. I won't be back! read more

When I was younger Roy Rogers was everywhere. Now it's difficult to find one. Luckily I was able to find this one today. Let me just say this....Fixin cups are awesome! I love the idea of toppings on the side as they stay crisp and fresh. I added my fixin cup to my 1/4lb cheeseburger with some yellow mustard and was very happy with the results! Stopped in for some dinner went through the drive through I guess it is the manager that took our order and gave us our food. He made sure we had everything we needed before leaving the window. I wish they Roy Rogers would open more restaurants up like there was back in the 70-90's they were all over then they started to shut down. Use to be 1 of favorite fast stops when in the area. We went there today and was completely disappointed! It took literally 4 minutes for someone to even come to th register to take our order let alone acknowledge us standing there. Then someone from the back told someone to go and take orders. He did apologize for the wait, a young guy. Finally get food had to send fries and burger back. Burger was sooo dry and fries too crispy dark brown. At this point I'm like why did we ever stop here!? I asked for a manager am was told there wasn't one on duty. Smh. Got new fries they were better and the sandwich was better but No where near as good as I've had In the past. First visit! Nathan took my order and helped me to navigate the menu. As a first timer he suggested the roast beef and it was nicely prepared. Sliced thin, stacked and served on a toasted bun. Nathan was training a cashier with such patience and encouragement while he took an order from another customer. The Roy Rogers Fixin's Bar was a nice touch too! A place to customize your order. The dining area was clean and the drive through lane was steady with customers. I would visit again. read more

Without going in to details, Mr. Darnaby and his staff was absolutely wonderful to my students and staff members! Terrible! We had hamburgers which were awful with no flavor. One of us had the roast beef sandwich which was so dry it practically choked me! Had to smother it with BBQ sauce. A couple of hours later I threw it up. We called the store and asked for a manager who was chewing her food as we spoke to her. When we told her what happened she said oh sorry. Did not offer a refund or anything. She then essentially hung up on us! Very rude. The staff in general lacked any personality or energy. The root beer from the soda machine tasted like medicine and we were told oh yeah, that one isn't working (there was no sign on it) they did give us another cup to get a new drink. I come to this location often. The boys that work there; Jacob, John, and Shaun, are always so sweet and accommodating. I've never had an issue. But today was not a good day. I'm not sure if he is a manager or what. But the old man that was working today was so inappropriate and unprofessional. Yelling and cussing at Shaun in front of all the customers. I believe the older man was also named John. It was very concerning and I hope he is reprimanded. Because the teenagers that work there seem to be the best employees this location has. read more

Had not been going here for years. Got fed up with lack of quality in pizza and Italian food in crofton area.last few weeks we revisited IM and it's awesome. Pizza near perfection, veal parmigiana unbelievable and spaghetti with sausage is vintage Italian. Wow where do I start with this bad review....i visited this location on National Fry Day! I walked in stood there at the register for a while before getting acknowledged. Then they were handling the fry box with their bare hands, no gloves whatsoever. The Gus were over cooked and old. I asked for fresh hot fries and instead of putting them in the trash in front of me they went to the fryer and dumped them back in the grease. Awful service and I and disappointed at the level of service I received. Went to Roy Rogers today because I had never heard of this place before, was driving by, and my daughter was sleep...so why not do take a chance. I asked if their roast beef was like Arby's in which the nice lady said no way ours is cooked here every morning and we slice as ordered. I ordered the roast beef sandwich which was around $8 as the meal and delicious like good tender, juicy roast beef. I have found my go to for my roast beef fix that is quick and reasonable. I finally tried the new Roy Rogers today. The roast beef was wonderful. The service was friendly. The drive thru had a bit of a wait but it was to be expected as it was packed. My only disappointment was the fried chicken. Not at all like I remembered it. It was hard, dry and the only spice it tasted of was pepper. Next time, I'll stick with the roast beef. read more

This place is awful. One minute they're closed because of an employee shortage and the next minute they're open, so you go and never know what to expect. There's several signs around the building saying what's open and what's not (inside vs drive thru) and different hours. I've gone twice, as well as ordered DoorDash twice before 11am (the breakfast cutoff as per the signs) and I've been turned away saying breakfast ended at either 10am or 11am. My DoorDash person experienced the same problem. When mentioning the signs out front to the employees, the little kids behind the counter just laugh to one another and say "uhhh ok", when they're making $9 an hour I guess that's what I should expect. I have always loved Roy Rogers restaurant ever since we had this a long time ago in Camp Springs, MD in the 70's. Then when it closed down the only Roy Rogers I was able to go to was near Solomon's Island in Southern MD or there's one in La Plata, MD. So you can imagine my surprise & excitement for this place to open up not very far from my home in Bowie! YES!!! This restaurant is super nice & clean and I love the added treat of not one but four flat screen tv's. Who needs a loud sports bar when you can come here, relax, eat some good hot crispy fried chicken or treat myself to another tasty favorite of mine, the Double-R burger! I really like the Roy's fixin's bar too where you can add some fresh lettuce & tomato slices or pickles, etc. I also like that they even added a canister or two of Old Bay seasoning & some malt vinegar so that you can dress your French fries Maryland style! Such a great treat to have Roy Rogers out this way. Closer to me, and a lot of my neighbors on this side of Maryland! Thank you for being here :-) read more

Quite frankly, one of worst fast food experiences we've had. First off, this food is not designed to be eaten in the car or while driving. We had our two dogs with us so we could not go inside. I used to go to Roy Rogers in the 70's as a kid and loved the food as it was always fresh and tasty. I told my husband how good their roast beef sandwiches were so he took my advice and ordered the large. I went for the ubiquitous cheeseburger. First, I had no idea that they switched to some burger bar approach which holds all the toppings. OK great for eating inside but a complete disaster when you have to open all the condiment packages and assemble all the components like onion, tomato, pickle, and lettuce of your sandwich yourself in the car. It definitely made matters worse when we realized we were missing the ketchup, mustard, mayo and horseradish sauce. By the time I went back to get them, returned to the car and then proceeded to top my own burger it was cold and tasteless. The roast beef was not any better so neither sandwich was consumed. This plain burger, roast beef approach tells me one thing - it's an easy excuse to get out of making freshly prepared food. I guarantee both sandwiches spent some time under a heat lamp, before arriving in our bag. Oh and the fries were bland, limp, and tasteless. Never again. read more

I pulled up for breakfast at 10:56 a.m and had one vehicle in front of me, the employee told the vehicle to hold before placing order. So at 11:03 that vehicle orderd their food and then it was my turn, when I pulled up I was told that breakfast ended at 11. I explained that I've been sitting in the line and the car in front of me was told to hold before placing their order. Then another person gets on the headset and tells me that they are all out of breakfast... When the car in front of me had just ordered breakfast. Not only is this this going to keep me away from the store again, they forgot two of my sandwiches last time. But I didn't go back and complain about it because I knew that they were very busy and limited staff due to the COVID. read more

The only complaint I have is the fixin's bar was sad and not well stocked. I won't hold that against them and I would eat here again. read more

Huge fan of Roy Rogers, so much that I was so pumped to stop at one on the turnpike when that was the only option. Burger and fries were great, however, the chicken looked absolutely disgusting.
