It comes with avocado and mayo, neither of which we like, and I ordered without them. Unfortunately we received avocado. I brought them back and explained the mix-up. Susanne, one of the servers, took them and came to our table with fresh sandwiches. I bit into mine and tasted onion and it had the mayo herb spread on it. I debated throwing it away for about 30 seconds but brought it back and Susanne (susie) who had replaced the first sandwiches cheerfully said "I've got you" and replaced it with a new one, no mayo, no avocado, no attitude, and I really was so grateful and of course enjoyed every bite. My sister loves the chocolate chip cookie and when they realized they were out Susanne intervened and said a new batch was coming and would be ready in 20 minutes. So my sister and I ate and by the time we were finished I went to the counter and Susanne brought out the still warm cookie. My sister is handicapped and it's one of the quicker, brighter restaurants as I can open the door closer to the handicapped parking for her which saves her steps she would need to reach the main entrance. She gets a booth and i order the food and drinks. I'm given a number to display on the table so we can have the drinks and chat and the server brings the food. We get to be leisurely since it's never been crowded when we go, usually in the afternoon. Someone always checks to see how we're doing and clear any dishes sometimes even getting refills for us. Kudos to one of our favorite restaurants. Thank you Susanne for your great service! They have a handicapped stall in the restroom and my sister is able to go alone on her walker. There are two or three handicapped spots located in front of a connected store with an accessible curb and the sidewalk leads to McAlisters, no street crossing involved.

I already included Ohio established restaurant (my local Bob Evan's) for my America 250 series. But I'll include a 2nd Ohio-established restaurant, and since I didn't have a restaurant representing Montana, I can count it. Representing Montana, Ted's Montana Grill! After this, I'll have 4 more states: AZ, CA, OR, & WA left in my America 250 series, unless of course I come up with more before I end up writing the last one for Washington state. August 14, 2026 experience: I had visited Ted's Alexandria in 2012 & maybe another time not long after that. I had been to the Gaithersburg, MD a couple of times including as recently as Jan. 2024 for a friend's birthday. Sadly, the only MD location in Gaithersburg closed. But Gaithersburg isn't close to where I live in MD either; although closer than Alexandria (or Crystal City Arlington). I forgot what the Alexandria looked like inside. It's old style western decor featuring a Bison head above the entrance to the kitchen. Sign asked to use their revolving door, which I was happy to do as revolving doors are kind of fun. Bartender Cassi greeted me asking if I wanted to sit at the bar. I initially had said I preferred a booth or seat than the bar. The server said he'd come back, but after a minute, I decided to go with the bar as Cassi was very nice. I told her about my free dessert with purchase. She tried to upsell me on the bison burger. I was honest saying it's great but so is the regular burger and not worth $2 price differential for me even with a bit healthier. Since I was getting dessert, I figured I ought to go healthy with my side choice. I realized asparagus was an upcharge and wasn't worth it to me. I got the broccoli, but I modified to make healthier. It's not just simply broccoli. They normally add grated parmesan cheese on it as well as drenched in olive oil for cooking. I requested no cheese & light oil. It was still enjoyable the way it was made and quite a bit healthier. But admittedly, I would enjoyed with the cheese & drenched in oil even more, but I wanted to cut back somewhere. The burger was awesome! I think it's the single best burger I've had in 2026. It's 8 oz beef. I got the plain jane burger as I knew I was getting the free dessert too. I added mayo to my burger; never been a fan of ketchup or mustard. I asked Cassi her recommendations on the desserts. She mentioned the Kahlua brownie, which I asked if it was a la mode. She also mentioned the cheesecake with wildberry. I asked her what the seasonal dessert listed was, which she said was a strawberry shortcake, which I said was kind of boring, but probably would've been good too. I also asked about the milkshakes, since my free dessert was transferable to a milkshake, but she said vanilla, chocolate, & strawberry, which I said was boring. So, I opted for the Kahlua brownie. I was feeling a little nausea near the end and left 3 bites or so behind, but I had like 25 or whatever bites of these huge brownie/ice cream before that. Gobbled the mac as a midnight snack later and, even having to nuke it warm again, the mac and cheese was flavorful with cheesy goodness. Only thing I thought was just okay was the 2 cornbread that came with the chicken. Just okay. Overall, decent prices for good quality. I'll be back when I come around the area again.
