The burger was subpar, I think it was the bun that kind of brought it down a level. The ranch fries were a bit too salty for my taste- so I would opt for the regular or sweet potato fries next time. Upon walking in there was no greet, no acknowledgement and they weren't busy... lots of workers to dine in customer ratio. Anywho the burgers are pretty pricey, but I did want to give them a shot anyways. They do have a food varity of diferent burgers and chicken sandwiches, they don't offer grilled chicken options either. You just have to request it...odd. My partner got the Shrlington hot and subbed it for grilled chicken. I got the hot and hefe, add mushrooms. We both wanted lettuce wraps which they didn't offer. Instead the cashier insisted a bowl...which we did not want. Not a salad bowl...just a lettuce wrap. Cajun fries was a must, we love cajun fries and always want to see what each place may taste like. They should definitely offer it being that a lot of people do low carb or keto. It's a corner spot with ample outdoor seating and a small 10 sitter bar. Taste? Shrlington hot? Not hot...very bland in my opinion. We rated it a 3/10. My burger? Super soggy like everything fell apart on first bite:( the taste was ok, but I would not do it again. 5/10. I had a well done patty with Gruyère cheese, sautéed mushrooms, jalapeño, lettuce, tomato, red onions, pickles, applewood bacon, and a side of fries. The women behind the counter was pretty annoyed that we showed up and how long it took my mother in law to order (she is 82 with food allergies). I like this place. They have a decent selection of burgers and I've found everything to be good. There's staff are friendly and make for a pleasant experience. You'll order from a cashier at the counter but they're always nice. The place is clean and there's never a problem getting a seat. This last trip I had the Shirlington Hot, which was perfect. There's no real heat for me but the flavors were spot on. It was cooked perfectly. If you're concerned with parking don't be. There's a few paid street parking spots nearby but there's also several free parking garages within a couple of blocks. read more

I felt heard and respected, as well as welcomed to return to try again. I will ABSOLUTELY return! I think this really showed how great not just the staff was, but also the management is here, and I have no doubt that our next visit will be a great one. Their peppercorn steakhouse is the best burger I've had in two years. 7 massive ounces of perfectly cooked, juicy Angus (you can specify doneness - how cool is that for a chain!) between two of the best brioche buns I've ever had. The heft is real - it comes with a knife! The cherry blossom shake, also perfection. The horseradish burger was not to my taste as far as concept, but impossible to fault the execution. I brought my family here for lunch, and we ordered: +a Classic Burger - with angus beef and all the toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, mayo, and cheddar cheese) +the Peppercorn Steakhouse - with angus beef, gruyere, fried onion straws, sauteed mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, and tellicherry peppercorn mayo +Queso Cheese Fries - fries topped with queso The burgers were not cooked to what we requested, and they all came out pretty rare to super overly cooked (to the point that they were dried out). The buns seemed to have been ripped off from the set, so there were pieces hanging off to the side. The Queso Cheese Fries, which I loved getting before, was pitiful in its portion - I'm thinking they were either stingy or just didn't grab the correct portion? There were tons of cheese, but not enough fries to go with. It was the first time my dad didn't finish his meal - and, he has a pretty high tolerance. He couldn't get more than a bite from his Peppercorn Steakhouse, as the flavors were off and it was just inedible. We had to stop by another place afterwards... The staff, while it seemed like a full shift, also wasn't paying any type of attention to the patrons (aka, us, since we were the only party) - we had to constantly go up to ask for silverware, condiments, cups for the soda machine, etc. - also, when the tray of the food came out, none of the aforementioned items were included. Why not just set up a self-serve station, then? I was pretty embarrassed that I brought my family here - whether it was an off day or not, the consistency wasn't there. This is basically a customized burger place - tons of options, all fresh/healthy, very unfussy. The prices aren't too bad for the area. The service is a bit of a mess at times (I get the feeling that this place does a lot of delivery/pick-up work), but the wait isn't too bad. Yesterday I placed an order for pick up at 11 AM today for an educational lunch schedule for 11:30. when I arrived at 11am, my order was not ready. It took them 20 minutes to get it together, no apologies. In fact, he and his team were all frowns like they were being put upon to put my pre-ordered food together. Their manager (thinnish dark haired man) who is supposed to be a role model was passive aggressive and slow. His team simply mirrored his unprofessionalism. The meals were intended for our local heroes - nursing team at a local hospital and I arrived at my presentation with only 5 minutes to spare.
