Oh m gosh, I could write a novel about how fantastic she is. Her bubbly personality brought such joy to our party of 3. Absolutely delicious! We returned and this time we came a little earlier because we were going to a show afterwards. We started off with a bowl of the clam chowder, I got the salmon and my husband got the special which was a crab melt sandwich. All the food was perfectly made and delicious. But I think my husband would have felt a little better had he not had clam chowder and a crab melt together- a bit too heavy for him. But overall, great food, great service and convenient location with lots of parking. We will have to come back for one of the nights they have live music. read more

It is so nice to see a business transition ownership smoothly and effectively. Chef Lesley has passed the reins to the new ownership group. I don't understand why people say the food is good here. The ambience is great and it is a charming place downtown with fun music, but the two times I've been, everything, all dishes everyone ordered, were basically boiled in some kind of weird beef broth. They are also clearly not using the farmers market ingredients as advertised, but frozen vegetables. Very disappointing as I would love to love and promote them! Please ditch that weird broth at a minimum! We really need a high ish -end restaurant downtown, but if people think this is it, it makes me wonder if my tastes just don't jive with the palette of the locals, so maybe it would fail? That, or there is something sketch going on with the Yelp reviews. If you want true farm to table food, try Crescent bistro downtown Pleasant Hill. Amazing, fresh and inventive. In the meantime, I would love to see Roxx's upgrade their food to match the prices. read more

Came here for lunch on a Thursday with the crab melt in mind. It wasn't on the menu and we were so bummed. However, we asked and they had it, it just want on the menu for whatever reason. The sandwich was divine. The focaccia with the olive oil & vinegar was outstanding. The ladies working were very nice, but it did seem like I was back in Europe (read: the wait staff left us alone for a while) It seemed like it was going to be a long wait because it is a small space and was totally packed. My husband and I just moved to Martinez and we're really excited to try Roxx as we've heard many good things, however our experience missed the mark. If you want to come on a weekend during live music be sure to make reservations in advance as they fill up. Since they were packed, service was pretty slow. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and they have a large front patio and can spill out into the street for the live music nights where they block off a section of Main Street. I had the house made lemonade which was delicious. For my entree I had the pasta gemelli and asked for grilled chicken to be added. After a long wait my dish came out and I was very surprised by the bowl of soup in front of me. They provided no spoon and was misleading calling it a pasta dish. After I started eating I realized they forgot to add the chicken I requested. It took about 15 minutes before our waitress checked in and I informed her it was missing. She went back and checked and said it wasn't her fault but the kitchens and she'd take it off our bill... I still wanted to the chicken but after such a long wait I felt like I should just forget it. I also noticed there was no summer squash, asparagus, or corn in the dish that was all listed on the menu. It was an entirely different dish than I ordered! My husband had the steak dish which we both thought was just ok. We'd be willing to give Roxx another shot and hope maybe lunch would be a better option. read more

Recently had lunch at Roxx on Main with my two sisters to celebrate the youngest Sister's birthday. This was our first time dining here and it was great. We had reservations which were also confirmed the evening before. We started out with the olive appetizer and the house made complimentary focaccia. The olives were a perfect choice as we sipped our cocktails, a Tito's Martini, an X rated Lemonade and the Love potion. All delicious! For entrees, I had the Grilled Portobello & Seasonal Veggie Sandwich with a side salad and my sisters both had the Roxxie House Made Veggie Burger with Tater Tots. My sandwich was so delicious and the portobello and veggies were perfectly grilled and seasoned. The Veggie Burger which I was tasted was so rich and decadent, I would order that next time. Our server was attentive and really sweet. For my Sister's birthday, they brought out a beautiful Panna Cotta berry swirl. It was rich, creamy and not too sweet. This place has a great vibe, the servers and bartender were friendly and the service was on point. I can't wait to go back for another delicious meal paired with the best Martinis ever! We went here the other day- me, my husband and our 1.5 year old and it was absolutely fantastic! The food is amazing and the place is adorable. The crab quesadilla is WORTH IT. It's large enough to have as an entree if you don't want to share. The grilled chicken was amazing- the rice and beans were perfect. And the pork chop- OH THE PORK CHOP. Fantastic. We say we are "mal de puerco" when we have eaten a lot of good food and this was very true- and even funnier because puerco is pig. Sorry I think I'm funny. The dessert was great too- fig and coconut bread pudding. My baby loved all the fruit it was garnished with. Oh! And I can't forget the bread! THE BREAD! It is to die for! One of our favorites in Downtown, have been coming here for years (including takeout during the pandemic). It's the perfect place to grab drinks & food with friends. You can even catch some live music & sit outside on their patio! It has a charming interior if you prefer to dine inside & we adore the owner/chef Leslie as well as the staff! Our absolute favorite is the crab sammie (not listed on the menu) and it's the most gorgeous thing you've ever seen! Tons of fresh crab meat on grilled sourdough with lettuce, tomato, avocado & a pesto aioli.... To say it is divine is an understatement! We get it with tots or side salad (the vinaigrette is drinkable!) The crab quesadilla is delicious and a MUST TRY..... and on a cold night we love to get the polenta bake with chicken meatballs! It has a yummy warm red sauce with greens & a molten cheese blanket over the top... feels like a warm hug! On other occasions we have ordered the parmesan mushroom polenta squares & a kale salmon Caesar salad with cocktails & those were equally amazing. (Pro tip: don't leave without trying the warm homemade focaccia with lemon olive oil/balsamic vinegar dip!!) If you have the opportunity to dine here, do not miss it. I was thrilled when a friend suggested we meet at Roxx on Main for dinner. A lot of things sounded good. I was torn between Mac & cheese or the special of the night a crab melt, served with potatoes or a side salad. I chose the crab melt it was served on toasted sourdough. There was a generous amount of crab. The sandwich was rich and filling with the addition of slices of avocado and melted cheese. The green salad had pleasant vinaigrette. Even though I tried, however, I was unable to finish my dinner. I took it home and it was still good the next day. I was judging at a local camera and passed on trying one of their cocktails. There are several dishes on the menu I want to try. I would like to go back and try a few of them while sitting outside and enjoying a cocktail and live music on the weekend. read more

I think this is my new favorite place to go eat locally. My husband and I had a fantastic evening there, not just the food, but the atmosphere, the other patrons, it was overall just a great evening. We ordered the Buratta to start and whatever oil and vinegar they used on it was heavenly. Even my husband who would typically pass up something like that (it looks too healthy lol) said it was incredible. I ordered the Skirt Steak and my husband ordered a burger. That first bite of the skirt steak was amazing. It had this nice crisp to it and the red wine sauce was so good with the scalloped potatoes. Yum. The burger was awesome. My husband commented on the bread and said it was some of the best he's had. And to top it off because it's a smaller restaurant, we just happened to make friends with the table next to us and spent the evening shooting the shi*t with them, discovering commonalities. It was the epitome of a farm to table, community restaurant experience and I adored it. My husband and I left the restaurant laughing and talking about how excited we are to go back.
