Now, all thanks to them (and the wonderful oral surgeon Rocco advised me to go see) I can smile again. Really smile. Everyone in the office is always compassionate and understanding. I had to give 4 only because an assistant handed me a bottle of special toothpaste once and neglected to tell me that I was going to be charged for it. I hate getting hit from left field with a charge I knew nothing about. UPDATE 5 STARS: We got a phone call from them and everything's been resolved! They're always so considerate and kind!! :-) This is America, most businesses only care about the money. Not Dr. Rocco's office. Everyone there simply cares about you, and how you're doing. It's a wonderful change compared to every dentist I've been to before. They're really the ONLY place to go.

We made an appointment for the next Tuesday leaving five days to wait for some relief. So I showed up on Tuesday and they diagnosed an infected tooth that would have to be pulled, but didn't have time to deal with it right then. They loaded me up with oxycontin and antibiotics, then sent me on my way, still dealing with the torturous pain. And there were no appointments available until the NEXT Tuesday. Next Tuesday finally came, and they called to reschedule the appointment again! Now it's Friday late afternoon, and they just called to tell me that the dentist had to go to the emergency room, I'm on my own, back at square one. It's Friday, everybody else is closed until Monday! And the cost of the office appointment is down the drain. I'm sorry that the dentist had to go to the emergency room, and hope that everything comes out OK for him. But surely the staff there knew they wouldn't be able to accommodate their patients. Couldn't somebody at Otsego Family Dentistry have mercy and let me know earlier? I think one star is overly generous.

Saw the comment below, Dr. Merda went to the emergency room & everyone was notified. He is on medical leave for a little bit. Everyone there is hard working & doing the best they can. Also I know they don't prescribe oxy & they more then likely referred him to an oral surgeon & he didn't want to do that. Anyways, great office, great staff, would recommend to everyone :)

I was referred to Dr. George Kirby at West Michigan Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after a routine…read moredental exam indicated the need for an extraction of a couple of wisdom teeth. This being my first surgical experience, I was quite nervous. At my initial consultation with Dr. Kirby he informed me that one of the teeth wouldn't need to be pulled at this time. This was a refreshing surprise for a dental practitioner to not push for as many procedures as possible. During this consultation, everything was explained and easy to understand. Dr. Kirby stayed to answer any questions I had and I didn't feel rushed at all. It was as if I was his only patient that day with the level of attention he and his assistant showed me during that consultation. Upon leaving the consultation, I felt more at ease about the procedure and felt confident that Dr. Kirby would take good care of me. On the day of my procedure, Dr. Kirby was running a bit behind schedule due to some additional work a previous patient was having performed. But, Dr. Kirby's assistant checked on me regularly and kept me informed the entire time. When Dr. Kirby arrived in my procedure room, he answered a couple more questions I had and then went to work. The procedure went perfectly and Dr. Kirby even spent some time in the recovery room with me to answer after-care questions and make sure I knew everything I needed to before heading home. In the months following my procedure, I ran into some issues with my insurance company. Dr. Kirby provided a letter for the insurance company on my behalf and ensured that the situation was completely resolved. The fact that his high-level of care and compassion extends beyond the surgical room shows he truly cares about his patients' whole experience. Dr. Kirby's ability to quickly put me at ease and the level of care and attention he provides is extraordinary. While nobody looks forward to dental surgery, if I ever find myself in need of it again, Dr. Kirby will always be my first choice.

HOWEVER, Dr. Cohrs office is still doing the full service and taking their time and giving us excellent un-rushed service. Dr. Cohrs and his staff are the best. I can't recommend them enough!

MAH Horrible experience…read more I would like to preface this by stating that I have previously had a very positive opinion of Dr. Cohrs personally. I firmly believe his bedside manner, attention to detail, and dental work are truly impeccable, and I appreciated his clinical care during my previous visits over the years. During my most recent visit though, things had changed. I was told by the hygienist, Lyndi, that a panoramic X-ray was "required by law" to maintain their license, with implied risk if refused. No such Michigan law exists--regulations cover equipment safety only, not mandating patient imaging (per LARA-Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and Michigan Dental Association). My low-risk profile (excellent hygiene, no cavities in years, healthy gums, recent normal bitewings) showed no clinical need. ADA 2026 guidelines require panoramic only when necessary, to minimize radiation, not routinely. When I raised the issue feeling misled about Timberview losing their license, the hygienist called in the office manager who was beyond rude, defensive, interrupted repeatedly by obscuring and pivoting to "our standard of care," then asked my opinion of their standard. I said it felt revenue-driven rather than evidence-based. She immediately told me to leave. This was gaslighting: obscuring the obvious falsehood with vague "patient care standards" and punishing honest feedback with abrupt dismissal. Deceptive communication and unprofessional handling erode trust. Patients deserve transparency, not pressure and deflection. Unfortunately the unprofessional conduct of the office manager--particularly her repeated interruptions, twisting of the initial misleading statement, dismissive attitude, and abrupt decision to ask me to leave after I shared my honest opinion--has eroded my trust in the practice as a whole. Despite my high regard for Dr. Cohrs' skills and care, this experience will unfortunately prevent me from returning. Perhaps the business/name change to Timberview Dental has caused the business to now become profit driven over patient care driven. Be VERY careful about agreeing to unnecessary procedures that are lining their pockets.

I had been given a consultation to have a wisdom tooth pulled, through the Dental Office within the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Community Care Department approved the consultation to be scheduled at the Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the Briarwood Valley Office Park. West Main. suite 200, Kalamazoo, MI 49006 location. I called the the phone number (269-388-2026) listed for that office, on the date of 02/20/2026. I had spoken with an employee of the Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and was able to schedule an appointment for 03/04/2026 at 1300. Again, this appointment was scheduled for the Briarwood Valley Office Park. West Main. suite 200, Kalamazoo, MI 49006 location. As I had arrived to my scheduled appointment at the Briarwood Valley Office Park. West Main. suite 200, Kalamazoo, MI 49006 location on 03/04/2026, I noticed a marquee sign located at the entrance of the Office Park, the sign did advertise the information for the Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. As I arrived in front of suite 200, I noticed a sign mounted on the side of the building stating information for the Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. As I had entered the office to the joining offices, I see another sign presenting the information for the Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery mounted on the wall, next to the office entry door. And then I noticed a paper size note taped to the glass door. The paper note stated "Our West Main office is closed today". In my confusion, I called the number listed on the paper size note. I was able to speak with an employee of Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and had been notified that the West Main office has been closed for three years. Again, they want me to believe that this location has been closed for three years. The website for the Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, has two locations listed for services. The West Main location is one. There is an active phone number listed on the website for the West Main location. There is a Marquee sign at the entrance of the Office Park with their information. There is an active sign on the side of building near the entry door. There was a paper size note taped to the entry door stating that they are closed today. The office does seem to be an active Dental office, with furniture. And for my favorite, I was able to schedule the appointment at the West Main office with an employee of Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care staff were confused with the information as well. The staff at the Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, informed the Community Care Office that they called my phone number to cancel the appointment at the West Main location. but, my phone number must not be in service. I have not received any apologies for the Kalamazoo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Nor would I believe that one could be sincere. I will not be using this Dental office in the future.
