They got me in within 2 hours of calling. The building is adorable and located in a woodsy area so that you can watch wildlife outside as you sit in the chair. They have cutting edge, mind blowing technology with their own lab that make the crowns while you wait. No need to make temporaries and return later for the permanents. I can't begin to say how impressed I was by the service! I thought the bill would be really high given how many things were done over more than 90 minutes. I got out for a tiny fraction of what I expected!!! I am thrilled to have found this practice!

I firmly believe his bedside manner, attention to detail, and dental work are truly impeccable, and I appreciated his clinical care during my previous visits over the years. During my most recent visit though, things had changed. I was told by the hygienist, Lyndi, that a panoramic X-ray was "required by law" to maintain their license, with implied risk if refused. No such Michigan law exists--regulations cover equipment safety only, not mandating patient imaging (per LARA-Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and Michigan Dental Association). My low-risk profile (excellent hygiene, no cavities in years, healthy gums, recent normal bitewings) showed no clinical need. ADA 2026 guidelines require panoramic only when necessary, to minimize radiation, not routinely. When I raised the issue feeling misled about Timberview losing their license, the hygienist called in the office manager who was beyond rude, defensive, interrupted repeatedly by obscuring and pivoting to "our standard of care," then asked my opinion of their standard. I said it felt revenue-driven rather than evidence-based. She immediately told me to leave. This was gaslighting: obscuring the obvious falsehood with vague "patient care standards" and punishing honest feedback with abrupt dismissal. Deceptive communication and unprofessional handling erode trust. Patients deserve transparency, not pressure and deflection. Unfortunately the unprofessional conduct of the office manager--particularly her repeated interruptions, twisting of the initial misleading statement, dismissive attitude, and abrupt decision to ask me to leave after I shared my honest opinion--has eroded my trust in the practice as a whole. Despite my high regard for Dr. Cohrs' skills and care, this experience will unfortunately prevent me from returning. Perhaps the business/name change to Timberview Dental has caused the business to now become profit driven over patient care driven. Be VERY careful about agreeing to unnecessary procedures that are lining their pockets.

Yes there is a "breakdown in the doctor-patient trust relationship" when you treat people as things or at best potential income opportunities rather than patients. Imagine my disappointment when I received their letter indicating they no longer deemed Delta Dental as an in network provider, and that I would have to assume the difference between what they bill and what Delta accepts and pays. This could amount to hundreds, if not thousands of dollars to me if I needed serious dental work. It's unfortunate that they don't realize how difficult it is for senior citizens, veterans, etc. to get dental insurance when they are on Medicare. To get even a minimal amount of coverage, we have to pay an additional premium to Medicare, and you still have a 50% copay for every procedure. My only option now is to find a new dentist.

Pam was thorough but gentle and frequently checked in with me to make sure I was doing ok. They don't rush. They get to know you. They truly care about the health of your mouth and teeth (as well as your comfort). They also listen to you and take your opinions/experiences into consideration. For example, after switching from an expensive, hard nighttime mouth guard (that I found very uncomfortable) to an OTC soft one several years ago, I had two past dentists tell me that the soft ones are virtually useless. Dr. Sarantos told me to keep using it if it's working for me. Dr. Ellard prescribed antibiotics which didn't ultimately work. He had been following up with me personally by phone and text through that weekend (including Sunday!). As we talked, he determined that I would need an extraction and he immediately made calls to his staff members and rounded up the crew needed to do the emergency extraction the following day. A day when they were closed due to the corona virus mandatory shut down. We determined also that an implant would be the best fix for the problem in the long run and he was able to do all the other procedures needed to start that process also. (Ct scan etc.). The insurance benefits were handled and the work on my mouth got done. I can't express how lucky I felt that my dentist was able to complete all this work and create such a comprehensive plan for treatment over a weekend and during the shut down. What do other people do who's dentists can't or don't go through these measures? Mouth pain is all encompassing and hardly bearable for most!
