I called them and made an appointment because i was refered there by my insurance company. I pre arranged a Lyft ride to and from. I spoke clearly and in English to the rep when I made the appointment. She explained to me that that I could get the Exam on the appointment date but the cleaning wold be scheduled later. I ageed and she verified my insurance. Then 2 days before the appointment some one else calls me from there to tell me that my insurance would not cover the Premier dentist. So I was forced to cancel my appointment. I have not been able to get a dental appointment in 3 years in Kalamazoo. read more

Was a patient for Scott Ellard office for over 15 years since the takeover by sharp smile center. This location is a nightmare and very unprofessional as well as subpar clinical providers. I went in for repair of front tooth chipping which had gotten worse recently, as well as some enamel repair. The process is called "bonding" and the work was entirely painless, comparatively fast (90 min for three teeth) and the results were amazing; teeth ended up perfect and color matched exactly. I have been a patient of Dr. Sharp for at least 15 years now. Most recent appointment was for a new crown on a tooth that was weakened from previous fillings. Procedure was almost painless (you have to expect some mild discomfort) and crown was manufactured at office so it was a one time procedure. About three hours total. I recently visited the Sharp Smile Center. I was very uncomfortable due to the virus. I followed through with this dental appointment because I trust their level of sanitation in the past. They were very professional. They sanitize all items being touched. They notice my nervousness and tried to reassure me by explaining their sanitation procedures. They provided me with a calming medication, gloves, music to block out noise. They further allowed me to leave by way of the back door so I did not have to walk through the entire facility. Also stated they would mail the bill to me do I did not have to stop by the front desk. In Other words they were so accommodating and caring. I appreciate their care. read more

Finding a cosmetic dentist requires careful consideration and it seems that every dentist offers cosmetic treatments these days. You are responsible for your own decisions and I believe testimonials on the website do help to select a dentist for our needs. I had an accident many years ago and my upper front tooth had broken. I was lucky to have an awesome dentist who made the new tooth, so nobody could really tell it was not real. Over the years the tooth chipped (I moved) and my dentist (in AZ) made me a new crown and it was so bad I had to go in several times just to get my bite corrected. ... and we moved for my husband's job right after that to Michigan. I stopped smiling when I spoke so people would not stare at my tooth. I had no idea which dentist to go to, so I started reading beautiful testimonies online. I went to my first dentist in Kalamazoo and he wanted my gum line raised and work on other teeth, when I wanted to start with ONLY one tooth. Of course all of the work he wanted to do comes with a high price tag. My feelings were not good about him. Then, I found another cosmetic dentist who does free consultations and he said oh yea easy job. He uses a machine to make the crown. His machine was acting up and he said I spent $100 worth material and you may have to come back. Meanwhile without my willingness, as I was in his dentist chair, he altered my perfectly healthy other front tooth to match to his crown. I literally cried on the chair and I'm 39 years old. The result was horrible. He also said that their lightest color was a little darker than my teeth and they didn't have any other shades to match with my teeth. I was so mad. I called another dentist and they wanted me to send pictures, which I did. I called them to follow up and their dentist was out because she fell down the stairs and broke her leg. Called them again and they said they will call me back, which they never did. Then, I found Sharp Smile Center. It took me some time to call them. At this point I was expecting another disappointment. When I called Sharp Smile Center, they told me that I have to pay for a consultation, which I was not happy about it. It was worth every penny of it, I found out latter on!! Dr. Sharp worked on my tooth with tremendous patience. He spent hours of his time and he never charged me extra money, nor did he make me feel that I was wasting his time or I was an inconvenience. He told me until YOU ARE SATISFIED, WE WILL WORK ON this tooth and he meant every word of it. Cosmetic dentistry is like a fine art, which requires time and skill and Dr. Sharp gives that to his patients. He is honest, detail oriented and professional. If you care about your teeth and about the service you will get, Sharp Smile Center is the place. Not only is Dr. Sharp awesome, but his team is as well. I had one of the worst dental experiences here, and I once had a dentist start working with no pain meds. They told me I needed a bite guard, but first I needed a monthly study done to make sure I needed one?? Your a dentist you should just know.... Anyways, not the point, the study was 600 bucks which my insurance didn't cover. Then it took me about an hour for the very pathetic lady to explain to me that this was JUST for a month study, and at the end I would then most likely need a bite guard for another 700, then either orthodontics or to basically completely reconstruct my teeth. On top of also needing filings done. It was great when I literally had to ask her to write down what I needed and the cost because it really felt like they just wanted me to agree to everything and start the paperwork for a loan to get my jaw fixed?...????? Ya nice payments of 119 a month just for the bite guard. It was great hearing from a bunch of receptionists how I need to spend 4k on my teeth or it'll be the end of the world. I called my old dentist who says no, a bite guard out of pocket is 450, total. Yea, please don't waste your time there. The doctor was cool but the ladies that were in charge of everything else was either incredibly dumb or just rude. read more
