I have absolutely no complaints about this practice and the care they've provided me over the years....its been outstanding. Imagine my disappointment when I received their letter indicating they no longer deemed Delta Dental as an in network provider, and that I would have to assume the difference between what they bill and what Delta accepts and pays. This could amount to hundreds, if not thousands of dollars to me if I needed serious dental work. It's unfortunate that they don't realize how difficult it is for senior citizens, veterans, etc. to get dental insurance when they are on Medicare. To get even a minimal amount of coverage, we have to pay an additional premium to Medicare, and you still have a 50% copay for every procedure. My only option now is to find a new dentist. read more

My husband had and I both went here. The morning of my husband's appointment, he called as our son had a fever of 104 and could not make the appointment. The office still charged us for his appointment anyway. I was extremely disappointment that they wouldn't drop the charge and even contacted them myself. read more

Great dentist but a bit pricey! If you have Delta Dental insurance you might find you are paying more out of pocket than you can afford. Really pushes implants. They've told me my medical insurance will pay for som implants--I keep saying when you figure out how to. I'll them then we can look at that as an option--not before. UPDATE: So I had to spend $250 for a second opinion from an endodontist. The endodontist told me the bruising on my face for 2 weeks was due to the Dr Ashley M hitting a blood vessel during my crown prep. Then he told me she was absolutely in error in what she had told me regarding a tooth condition. Now to add another insult to injury: When I chose this practice and Dr. Ashley M it was because she is listed with Delta Dental as a PPO provider. HOWEVER, the office refuses to bill the cleaning and xrays by their hygienists under Dr. Ashley. They separate the same appointment: xr and cleaning under Dr. Hamilton and they send a separate claim for the exam under Dr. Ashley. THAT MEANS THAT DELTA DENTAL PAYS LESS AT 80% RATHER THAN 100% because Dr. Hamilton is only a premier provider and not a full PPO provider to Delta. They hide behind their financial stmt they have you sign and say "oh well" to the entire situation. Now the patient has to pay the difference and THEY DO NOT CARE that this is all a bait and switch tactic. They get their money either way and the ins company wins as they pay less. PATIENTS BEWARE!!!! Not ethical. We changed dentists after 15 years. My husband and I tried West Wind. We were extremely happy with the first hygiene appt. And hygienist was wonderful. I had to go back for a scheduled crown and filling. Due to needle apprehension and a horrible gag reflex I have used nitrous for 40 years for dental appts. In the past ten years or so offices have started charging patients for the "luxury" of being comfortable. They charge upwards of $80 for this request. However, sometimes they turn the nitrous off or extremely low after the injection (this time low even before). BUT they pretend it's still on and charge you as if you used it the entire appt. Such as this case. When I tried to tell the female doc I wasn't feeling anything prior to procedure she said "that's all I'm comfortable giving you". But of course I was charged the full $80. Then after taking me back 15 min late, not reading the chart ahead of time and having it set up, so that delayed another 20 min...doc announced they wouldn't have time to do the filling. So this meant I would have to come back again, go through injection and numbing again, AND here's the kicker...pay for nitrous AGAIN. When I let the doc know my feelings on this she said the staff had to take lunch, so basically oh well. I was a Nationally Certified Denal Assistant in my twenties and my eldest daughter is a hygienist. I can't count how many times I ate a quick lunch due to unforeseen schedule conflicts. To add insult to injury (literally) when I got home I was in pain. My eyes, nose, temple, all the way down to lymph node under jaw. I had to lay down with ice pack on my face. I wake up this morning to a bruised face! This was 1 crown prep. I have had a lot of dentistry done in 40 years, and never felt like this. Then I look at the crown and it's Grey in color!! She didn't color match the preexisting crown nor bother to ask me what I wanted!! Now I've gone thru all of this for something I hate, and the pain and bruising. And $1200....wow...just wow. My best personal decision was to contact West Wind Dental for some much needed dental work. The entire staff that I have dealt with has been amazing. The work I needed, pulling wisdom teeth, having 3 crowns and some major cleaning, was a lot to endure this summer, but with each procedure, I felt like they really cared about my comfort and they did an amazing job! Also, on a side note, one of the ladies even recommended a series on Netflix that has me captivated (now I have to binge watch several seasons to catch up). Love Dr Hamilton's work! Be that as may Erica and the office manager Jolie (with an I as she stated when I asked for her name) are rude and combative about actually doing there jobs. I received a text saying I owed $750 from over a year ago. When I called Erica claimed I was sent a check from the insurance company for the $750 and never turned it in to West Wind. I asked when did this new practice of Insurance Company's paying the patients start? She had no answer and informed my it was responsibility to contact them and get it fixed. I asked for specific dates and procedures I needed to enquire about and she did not know. I called around 6 weeks later to see what progress was made and no one responded. On 9-28-23 I asked about my bill when I dropped my wife off to get her teeth cleaned Erica told me to call the insurance company they returned a check for $750 was becouse it was made out to a different dentist whom worked in the same office and not Dr Hamilton. (Sound like a billing issue not a me issue). once again I asked for specific dates and was handed a 5 page print of all my family's visits and told to figure it out myself. So I decided I can do their jobs for them and called the insurance company whom asked my specific dates so they could help me clear this up. I drove back to West Wind while the insurance company waited on the phone and explained I have a representative on the phone and would like to get this all cleared up. Jolie stated she was not willing to talk them, I asked to talk to Dr Hamilton Jolie said no you may not I am in charge there is no one to talk to but me and she was busy. Love the dr's the their technology however dislike their late policy and $50 charge we missed our 10 min late appt by 4 mins today still had to pay $50 my whole family has been patients there since Dr smith and no chance of waiving that fee today. I get why that's in place however they have the ability to waive it. I did not get a credit when the dr was sick the day of my husbands appt and he took work off and they cancelled his appt. We were going today for some sort of issue with my daughter's tooth so now she gets to go the whole holiday weekend with pain. Lots of compassion there real nice. The front staff was literally looking at a shopping site on one of their computers they were real busy today. SERIOUSLY. so frustrating I just feel like an exception could have been made today it was literally 4 mins we called also and said we would be 15 mins out due to car issues they said would have to be there in 10 mins we tried we really did so to be treated like that and to have to shell out $50 that I honestly did not have today before we could even schedule another appt is super frustrating. I mean really there were barely any cars in the parking lot no patients in the waiting room so really if the dr was asked which she probably was not I'm sure an exception could have been made but no the front staff did not even care they were just like we told you 10 mins or would have to cancel. May have to start shopping around for a new office at this point. Super sad and disappointed today. read more

I just have to say this, and not to discredit those bad reviews because they could have had bad experiences but I truly do not believe they could have gone down the way they did. My family and wife's family have gone here for more than 2 generations and we've never had a bad experience. They have worked with us billing issues and were always gracious and helped us out, and have had super enjoyable experiences. 20+ year customer, Dr. Smith created and ran an excellent practice. Dr. Hamilton has also been awesome when he is involved directly. I've had three instances in the past few years where I was over billed, took a few calls but was able to resolve each situation. Today my 18yo son was 7min late arriving for his appointment, office staff were on the phone so he wasn't checked in for another few minutes. He was told he had to pay a $50 late fee and reschedule. I called the office back asking if they could refund the cash my son paid. I spoke to their office director who refused to refund the money, citing how they have a clear policy for no call/no show. When pressed on the policy specifics for certain situations, she began giving conflicting details and basically said applying a fee for late arrivals is arbitrary based on their situation. I see responses on the forum where they waive a "first offense".. that was never offered here. I understand and support the intent of a late fee policy for no call/no shows, but this experience was ridiculous. My family has supported this practice for many years and even accepted moving our appointments at their request. read more

We have been coming here for 11 years, choosing it randomly way back then because it was close to where we lived. The people who work here are all super friendly, they are swift and thorough when you're here for a cleaning, and they are experts at figuring out billing/insurance. My favorite part is definitely the lab- they are able to create permanent crowns for you with one visit (none of that temporary crown then come back a few weeks later for the real one business!). Their equipment is all new and top of the line (as far as I can tell!), and it seems like they're always updating. The dentists are great at what they do, especially when it comes to pain management and putting you at ease. This office doesn't get five stars from me only because of the availability of appointments. I'm a teacher, so in order to avoid taking off work for appointments, I have to schedule after 3 pm. I found it necessary to cancel an appointment for my 90 year old mother. I received a letter stating because the appointment was not cancelled 48 hours in advance there would be a $50.00 charge. However, as courtesy they waived the fee this time. Gee, I'm sorry my Mother did not know she was going to be sick 48 hours in advance! How utterly absurd. read more

I believe that testimonies on the website do help for the new patients and here is my experience with Dr. Greg Smith and his team. I went to West Wind Dental for a free consultation with Dr. Smith about my upper front tooth. I was not satisfied with my previous work that was done by my previous dentist, just before I moved to Michigan. I told him that I wanted the tooth to be better and more natural looking, since it is my very front tooth. He told me that he could match it with another tooth and it would be much better. I told him that I would get my teeth whitened before we started. There was a cancellation for teeth cleaning when I was leaving and they took me in for a much-needed teeth cleaning. The hygienist was great and sadly this was the one positive experience I had with this dentist office. When I went for my first teeth whitening, the person who was going to do it came to the front desk and told me that my appointment was at 1:30 not at 11:30 and she was annoyed. Thank you, GOD, for my old habit of asking for appointment cards. My appointment card clearly said the time I showed up. She didn't put cotton rolls in my mouth and my chair was up, while I was getting teeth whitening and she completely ignored me. I came to the point that I was chocking with my spit and ran to the bathroom. While I was running to the bathroom, all of the spit that accumulated in my mouth for half an hour ran down my chest to my shoes. I figured just because one person is bad doesn't mean the rest of the team is bad and I came to my next appointment for my front tooth. A person at the front desk told me we were not sure if you were going to show up. I was surprised and asked why? She said we called you to confirm the appointment and you did not answer. I never received a call and why wouldn't I confirm something so important to me? I asked them about the number and they told me my husband's phone number on their screen. I said that's not my number. She said that's all we have... The forms I filled out has all of the needed information to get a hold of me. Dr. Smith used a machine to create the crown in his office for my front tooth. They were having trouble with the machine and he made a comment "it already cost me more than $100 of material and you may have to come back" as I had been sitting and patiently waiting for more than 2 hours. The only thing I could think of was that I paid you over $1200 in cash and you are worrying for $100. He said in order to match the tooth he needs to alter my other good and healthy tooth. I said as my mouth was wide open "I really prefer you not touch my other tooth." He said that was the only way it will look more natural. As I was waiting for the tooth to be made, I cried. I had the feeling that it was a big mistake with my choice of dentist. I thought the number one rule of dentists was to not touch a healthy tooth, whatever the reason. Finally, the tooth spits out of the machine and when comparing it to my other tooth, it was narrower and the color was off. He said that was the lightest color that they had and I pretty much had to have a couple shades darker crown. My teeth were not even super white after their half hour teeth whitening process. After a couple of weeks, I went back to him and dragged my husband with me to hear what he was going to say when I told him that I was not satisfied. He pretty much told me that was all he could do. My previous tooth and his work were no different, other than making my bank account lower. Now I had another tooth to worry about, since he altered it to match and it was not even close to matching. Overall, he may be a good dentist for a crown on your back teeth or filling etc. He is nowhere to be a cosmetic dentist to work on any detailed work. I would not recommend West Wind Dental to anybody who care about their teeth. Save your money and go find another dentist who will actually make your satisfaction their priority. read more

Dr. Hamilton is an amazing dentist! I have hypermobility in my jaw and everything has to be put back exactly the same way after a filing or crown. I had a very bad experience with another dentist and switched to this practice as a result. Dr. Hamilton laid out a treatment plan and was able to correct all the issues. He is down to earth and easy to talk to and I highly recommend his services. Even though I've since moved, I travel 80 miles each way because of the exceptional care he provides. read more

We had to change after we moved. then after her, he started to be so scared to go to the dentist. she was not nice and did nothing to make him feel comfortable. Extremely bad customer service. We took our daughter in to get a composite filling six months ago. They filled it and it fell out last month. We took her back in to get it re-filled at full price. Only a week later, the new filling fell out. This time we asked that they re-fill it for free and they laughed in our face. I understand that fillings don't last forever, but I'll bet if they paid a plumber to fix their toilet and it broke a week later, they'd be expecting the plumber to come back and finish the job. Bottom line: these people don't stand behind their work. There are plenty of other dentists in the area, look for one whose reputation is worth more than a couple bucks. read more
